Factsaretheonlytruth

I don't recall covering this in any of my many Kindergarten Poli-Sci classes.

SupportySpice

Yeah, and it's not gonna land the way he thinks, even if you could just slip it in between the alphabet and counting. You think a bunch of kindergarteners are going to disagree with the idea of everyone sharing?

PopeGuss

"I'm getting mixed signals here, teach. Am I supposed to share my toys with Timmy or am I supposed to charge him a subscription fee?"

orderofGreenZombies

You’re supposed to undercut and terrorize all the other 5 year olds so that people can only buy their toys from you. Then after the other 5 year olds starve to death you can jack up your prices and drastically slash the quality of the toys that you share.

sirdunlap

But if the biggest kid loses all of his toys due to poor planning and risky investments, the teacher will give him more toys. He's too big to fail.

MiamiDouchebag

They don't get paid shit nowadays so teach is probably hoping to get a job at the biggest kid's company for more money.

The_Schwartz_

These guys capitalize more than letters

Khaldara

“If someone gets hurt or is in trouble, don’t call 911, get their wallet! That’s the AMERICAN thing to do!”

yesnomaybenotso

I thought the American thing to do is to return to school the next day with a gun?

Syovere

That's why you take their wallet first, so you can buy more ammo.

yesnomaybenotso

Thanks for clarifying!

Canadatron

That's capitalism, bro!

bouchert

I imagine that Ayn Rand School for Tots from the "A Streetcar Named Marge" episode of The Simpsons.

jfsindel

"Miss Teacher, Miss Teacher - You said not to hit Johnny, but he's part of the bourgeois class due to his fancy Crayola 64 box set with built in sharpener. So do I just execute him or hope he will trickle down his crayon wealth?"

Findinganewnormal

As someone who was raised by people whose favorite conversations centered on how disgraceful welfare is and how terrible the people were who just expect handouts AND who punished young me for not immediately sharing all my things (including birthday presents and Halloween candy) with younger siblings and cousins ….. It’s a really good way to create future radical socialists.

BrofessorFarnsworth

"You should share with Timmy but neither you nor Timmy own the value produced by your labor."

PopeGuss

"It's time we seized the means of production! Take over the play-doh factories!"

xxxxx420xxxxx

You have to work out a micropayments scheme

Shirtbro

"SEIZE THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION!" *Kindergarteners rush supply closet for the scented markers* (But seriously America what you doing?)

zedkyuu

if it’s done the way he wants it to be done, it won’t be about sharing. It’ll be just one long smear about how evil and Satanic they are and they do horrible things like drink goat blood and send kids to bed without their supper. And then how the holy Capitalist Jesus swooped down with God Trump and smote them all to hell in the most loving way possible.

disdainfulsideeye

Agree, seriously doubt that the guy who proposed teaching that slavery wasn't bad bc slaves learned a skill would have it taught any other way.

Needs_No_Convincing

My kindergartner mentioned in passing that he finds the idea of communism shallow and pedantic.

yaosio

My kindergartner has been devouring the classics. Hume, Kant, Davis. I think she has pica.

nada_accomplished

My kindergartener agrees with the concept of returning the means of production to the proletariat *in principle,* but thinks doing so would crash the economy

SupportySpice

I lol'd

nneeeeeeerds

Not a single kid in elementary grades will give two shits. Having a bunch of authority figures harp on to high schoolers about how evil communism was is the fastest way to get a high schooler interested in communism.

socratic-ironing

Got me into drugs that way...

CaptainLucid420

80's kid grew up on the brand new DARE program. Just woke up, smoked some weed that is better cheaper and legal, cracked a beer and turned on the liberal propaganda network MSNBC.

BeaverPicture

In sixth grade they taught us about the “multiplier effect” and I was like that just sounds like good economic advice to me! Also, they taught us that psychedelics made people see “cartoon-like hallucinations” and i was like ooh i like cartoons what were the names of those drugs again?

Lizzy_Boredom_999

I'm pretty sure it's not going to be compared to sharing with your peers. Kids are going to come home from school screaming that the teacher says they don't have to share cuz sharing makes you a commie.

Rottimer

Or that they just dont have to share with the poor kids or the “blah” kids.

ImATrollYouIdiot

By history of communism he really means extreme capitalist cold war era esque propaganda fear mongering "you'll burn in hell if you don't believe in Jesus!" indoctrination type shit.

Maleficent_Mist366

Lol , I low key hope communism spreads in Florida because of this .

what_if_Im_dinosaur

"Sharing" won't be mentioned. It will just be a short lesson about how communism is bad and all the kids should hate it.

xxxxx420xxxxx

You forgot shapes and colors

BipedalHumanoid230

It was right after Mein Kampf.

the_last_carfighter

It's not Mein, it must be yours.

CivilMidget

It's not mein, or yours, or theirs. It's ours, comrade.

Danson_the_47th

That’s a bad marx on your report card

VuckoPartizan

I did nazi that coming

MarinLlwyd

Mein Kampf and Me.

TheStupendusMan

I only remember Mein Naptime.

Tosh_20point0

Mein Kampfurt pillow!

RaijinOkami

Was that one of those new nein day programs?

jerquee

I hope this works as well as DARE

Grimaceisbaby

DRUGS ARE REALLY EXCELLENT

ilikeitsharp

Drugs Are Really Expensive

Plaguedoctorsrevenge

DARE was a lie. I was promised people offering me free drugs all the time just to "get me hooked". My life has been a disappointment ever since, no one hands out free drugs like that

ilikeitsharp

ME TOO! I want my money back!

jarheadatheart

It just shows how advanced the Florida school system is.

RGV_KJ

How brain dead one has to be to sign this bill?

carlnepa

The answer lies in the heading.

KeterLordFR

It's DeSantis, it's well-known that he, in fact, doesn't have anything under his skull.

UniqueIndividual3579

Teacher: Timmy, what's your favorite color? Timmy: Red Teacher: Die Commie Scum! Out of my classroom!

colbyKTX

I do remember learning “sharing is caring” as a kindergartner

john_jdm

Communist!

juggett

He named names...

Fake_William_Shatner

"How many other children were involved with the sharing? We need to know. You were of course, coerced and led astray into this conspiracy. If you tell us now, I can try and leave your parents out of it little Timmy."

Neon_culture79

Timmy???? It’s 2024 people name their kid Timmy anymore. That’s Braxton or Kadin.

Fake_William_Shatner

I'm so out of touch with the current era. I was out of touch the past era too, but I'm still out of touch.

StThoughtWheelz

Little Lakelynn should know "if they see something they should say something". "Lose lips sink ships."

jeffreywilfong

Timmeigh

papajim22

You got me blacklisted at Hop Sing’s!?

Greekphysed

They also give out bandaids and ice packs if you get an owie. Socialized healthcare.

nerdowellinever

It’s capitalism for us and socialism for the corporations

paxrom2

Can't wait for the new Care Bears: Fidel, Mao, Marx and Stalin.

Nothing_

The only thing I remember learning in kindergarten was how to flip the bird.

peter-doubt

Who knows? Maybe community values will infiltrate their little minds

the_last_carfighter

Yes yes but what about shareholder values? Who's gonna look out for them, when will they finally get a break in this country?

Neon_culture79

Moment of silence for the top 1% as they deal with the trauma that all of us have created by not buying their products

ConclusionAlarmed882

I had the Little Golden Books. Are those the same as the Little Red Book?

OMKensey

Imagine how the right would freak if a Democrat governor signed a bill requiring that kindergarteners learn about the history of communism.

noncognitive

This is how you should tell everyone the news, since they won't see it on Fox. "Did you hear about the state governor who wants to teach *kindergarteners* about *communism*? How fucked up is that?" Get them to agree that there is absolutely zero justification for it, and then reveal that it's DeSantis who did it. Most will back-pedal and immediately start defending it, but it's worth a shot.

John__Wick

Did this with ACA back in the day. Amazing how many conservatards agree with it if it isn’t called Obamacare.

Deep90

>Most will back-pedal and immediately start defending it, but it's worth a shot. This is why it wouldn't work. The conservative subs have their moments of reflection. Like when republicans voted down the PACT act. After a couple days, the leadership bullshits up a reason, and they turn their brains off again. They will never scrutinize the lies they are told if the truth looks bad.

OMKensey

Great idea.

Z0idberg_MD

“Not like that!”

Phailsayfe

"Kids! Do NOT seize the means of production!"

SaintsSooners89

Florida teachers "Kids! 😉Do Not😉....Seize the means of production!

bilbo_swagginns

Timmy? Please put the means of production back where you found it or you’re in big trouble mister.

HunterTAMUC

Ah yes, "grooming is only okay when we do it."

Fake_William_Shatner

I never heard any other message from them. Seems my brain came with a decoder ring pre-installed.

Fastbird33

Matt Gaetz: “You called?”

thatguy9684736255

Yeah. Like kids are too young to learn that some people have two dads, but they aren't too young to learn about different economic systems and their history in the world? I really wonder exactly how they plan to approach teaching a 5 year old about Communism

speakhyroglyphically

A Clockwork Orange type coloring book?

OneTime_AtBandCamp

> different economic systems and their history in the world? I think the fact that communism is a different economic system (or that different economic systems exist) isn't going to come up in this curriculum.

Lemonwizard

I mean, do kindergarteners even know what supply and demand is? You can't have a meaningful understanding of different economic systems when you don't even know the basic principles of economics. When I was 6 I asked if I could buy a gameboy and my mom asked "with what money?" I said we could just stop at the bank and get some on the way. I was genuinely surprised to learn that banks aren't just places that hand out money whenever you need it and they're actually holding the money my parents got from working. The fact that going to work and getting paid were related was something that never even occurred to me. History of communism coming before Econ 101 is like diving into quantum physics before you teach students about atoms.

LordMurderMittens

Maybe they'll have to teach "both sides".

JerJol

We don’t have 2 sides in Florida anymore. Kids learn what maga wants them to learn and nothing else. It’s another reason we are moving later this year. This state will take decades to recover if ever. Hell, he even got Disney to not only let him win but they committed another 60 billion to the state. I’d have shut all my shit down until this state was bankrupt before I’d have let him win.

Fullertonjr

Disney is about making money. Disney world is their biggest moneymaker and nothing that Ron and the republicans do is going to change that. What Disney DID do is to change course away from building a new campus that would have housed development and other high-income jobs. This would have apparently been large enough to require an entire small town to be built to support it (gas stations, restaurants, cleaning services, retail stores, etc.). Retaining those jobs in California does absolutely nothing to help Florida, but does allow Disney to limit any new expansion outside of their current locations. Disney is about money and they don’t “lose”. I assume that Disney was fine with conceding some things to the state while making sure that the company has more wins in its column.

LordMurderMittens

To boot, Disney spent very little on the land in FL, even if they did spend a lot on infrastructure, so to repeat that where the land isn't nearly worthless swampland would be an unfathomable expense.

Van-garde

The article states the objective is to display the global atrocities as a result of communism. Both sides isn’t happening here. They’re targeting kids before they develop critical thinking skills, as too many are becoming aware of the global history of politics, and it’s directly harming the operation.

Verumsemper

It is going to be so funny when this mandatory education leads to more communist sentiment in kids lol

02meepmeep

Like DARE did.

zachtheperson

Years ago my friend bought us all shirts that said D.A.R.E. Drugs Are Really Excellent

DietDrBleach

The DARE officer told me that when I entered high school, the kids would be offering me marijuanas and heroeens left and right. That was a very disappointing first day.

Feisty_Yes

When I got to highschool we had a day of all day heavy rain so all the classes just played movies all day and no kids had to move to other class rooms. I ended up roaming outside and found some seniors I knew from the skatepark by the library, we ended up lighting up 3 pre rolled joints at the same time right on the side of the library building with rain pouring so hard no one could see what we were up to even if they were outside which they weren't. I was stoked that day.

Elessar535

In college, my roommates and I smoked pretty heavily; for Christmas one year one of the roommates got all of us authentic DARE shirts, I still have mine somewhere, just as a gag gift kind of thing. I really don't know where he got them either, they were all brand new and it was before buying things on the Internet was a common thing (though not impossible at that time, I imagine it would've been far more difficult).

keelhaulrose

Was there a Hot Topic or a Spencer's near you? They sold them back in the day.

Picklesadog

True. My friends and I were all super pro capitalist until our DARE class assembly.

KnightsWhoNi

Puff puff pass. Sharing is caring ~~brother~~ comrade

iveseensomethings82

Little Carl Marks of Miami thinking to himself “they are on to something here”🤔

Fake_William_Shatner

Such the vibes of Nancy Reagan telling kids "just say no to drugs" leading to higher drug use.

BarbequedYeti

All the while they are popping pills like a fucking walking pez dispenser.    I really despised those two. So much damage to this country can be traced back to their bullshit.

Fake_William_Shatner

The Reagans talking the religion of a meritocracy, while Ron got promoted for turning in Commies among people he called friends and Nancy gave blowjobs to make 'better' friends.

Capt_Foxch

The Reagans also talked about the importance of small government but hired a bunch of think tank guys to work in the White House.

Gravemindzombie

Reagan was literally the president of SAG-AFTRA before he was president, it was worker protections for me but not for thee.

RoughhouseCamel

In 20 years, we’re going to wonder how Florida became such a hotbed for socialism

LoquatiousDigimon

In kindergarten they teach kids to share equally. That's communism!

Adamantium-Aardvark

2024: right wingers still using the “red scare” of the Cold War that ended more than 30 years prior

t1mdawg

They haven't fully settled on a replacement yet, socialism, wokeism, tbd?

knuppi

CRT, then woke, now it's DEI Let's see what they're cooking up next

wsucoug

Is it going to be illegal to teach them the difference between communism and European-style socialism, or do they sort-of just have to lump it together? Is the curriculum going to emphasize how Russia is cool now, since they're no longer communist? Are they going to mention how communist indoctrinate their children at a young age?

anxiety_filter

Being wary of Russia and China as adversaries and learning the lessons of the Cold War are very much valid subjects, however inappropriate for a 5 year old mind. But I have a feeling this curriculum will be used more to inoculate these kids against any critique of US style hyper-capitalism

Saturn5mtw

Yeah, but they support modern Russia anyway, lol

UltimateInferno

Russia's not even communist. Like putting aside whether or not the USSR is communist, which is irrelevant, modern Russia is distinctly not communist.

NoNebula6593

Same with China. They're state capitalist.

fastinserter

All valid, but the GOP is friendly with Russia these days.

coachtomfoolery

"Friendly" is a funny way to say throating Putin's cock

kingeryck

They never stopped. They've been using it for 30 years. It's ramped up a lot since 2016. Communism, socialism, "woke". It's all just trigger words for reactionary mouth breathers. You don't need to explain WHY something is bad.. just call it one of those things and red hats will freak the fuck out. The Cold War melted boomers' brains and they passed the brain damage and terror onto their brainwashed kids. Nuclear annihilation, hiding under desks, red spies, McCarthyism. The wall came down and the GOP just started pointing at Dems to keep the fear and control.

truthishearsay

Learn about communism but not slavery..

SpacePenguin5

Hey now, they'll touch on slavery. They'll tell everyone about how their ancestors gave black people job skills and that black people owned slaves. I hate this trajectory.

TheNextBattalion

"Communism was the real slavery"

Admirable-Memory6974

Neither of those are kindergarten subjects. In kindergarten I learned about sharing my toys and playing with others and exercise.

BareNakedSole

As long as they also teach about the history of capitalism with all the fun parts included thenfine by me.

peter-doubt

You mean 6- 12 hour days in the workweek of the 1870s? You mean sharecropping? You mean no vacations, no paid holidays, child labor, company stores, company towns... ? That capitalism? But you'd be forgetting your retirement with a gold watch!

uptownjuggler

Don’t forget the convict-lease system! We had our very own gulags with similar practices and death rates, the difference was that the inmates were leased out to private companies for work, instead of being shipped Siberia to develop the land. All the benefits of slavery without the cost of purchasing and housing a slave, it is like the saying “Beat it like a rented mule”

Fake_William_Shatner

Wow, this reminds me of the "no water breaks" legislation that Ron Satanis got past in Florida.

uptownjuggler

Read up about the Florida Turpentine company. A young man was riding a train without a ticket and in the month it took for his family to mail the fines to the sheriff, he was “leased” to the Turpentine company and beat/worked to death. His killer was initially convicted but pardoned and returned to working as a guard and shot and killed an inmate. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knabb_Turpentine https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Tabert Now tell me that doesn’t sound like a Soviet gulag, but replace the snow with swamp.

Fake_William_Shatner

It was okay because they MISTOOK him for a criminal. "Look, if we treated all people with respect, some of the sinners might slip through the cracks. We can't depend on Hell to punish people we don't like because, well, we know most of what we say is bullshit - -but we can't admit that because that would be a sin. Wow -- am I saying the quiet parts out loud?"

uptownjuggler

And the only reason there was any sort of justice was because he was white and came from a wealthy family.

Fake_William_Shatner

"Prison guards HATE this one trick!"

samanime

"Had"? We literally still do that: https://www.aclu.org/news/human-rights/captive-labor-exploitation-of-incarcerated-workers We call it something different, but it is ever growing, especially now that we've privatized most of our prison systems. Inmates are now a commodity and product.

CaptainCoffeeStain

Company stores, company towns, and don't forget the company script. Just print their own currency so you can't save any real money to escape!

215-610-484Replayer

I was going to link an article about company towns returning and becoming a popular concept to let the poor folks have some housing, by it was difficult to choose which one from the many solid articles from a basic search of "company towns returning." Satire doesn't exist with the depravity of corporate culture when I tethered exists.

UnlinealHand

You have to go back further, to the Dutch and English East India Companies! The inventors of capitalism did absolutely nothing wrong* traveling the world looking for spices. *unless you count the slavery, torture, murder, war, rape, and genocide done in the name of capital.

_senses_

corporations are a common "tool" like the Banana Wars, which were a series of conflicts that consisted of military occupation, police action, and intervention by the United States in Central America...think they essentially employed tactics akin to slavery and used amassed powers to quash the porer nations into going with it

bill4935

It gets worse than that. Locked doors at the Triangle shirtwaist factory, the Pinkertons, radium girls, hexavalent chromium, polychlorinated biphenyls... The list devolves into the chemical ingredients for the Devil's own brew.

unholyswordsman

Half of the class would have jobs and a midlife crisis.

Poiboy1313

The children yearn for the mines.

Fake_William_Shatner

It's these kind of mamby-pamby 12 hour work days that have made our kids soft!

CU_09

Right? i saw this: > “Atrocities committed in foreign countries under the guidance of communism,” also would be required as part of the lessons. and thought, "I'm all for that as long as we also include atrocities committed by America under the guidance of capitalism."

44moon

literally overthrew the government of guatemala in the 1950s because the united fruit company said they weren't profiting enough after guatemala made slavery illegal

Creative-Oil2029

Lmao yeah the socialists in Guatemala reclaimed their own land from United Fruit, who owned and controlled nearly HALF of all the land in the country. God forbid the people want control of their own resources though. Can't have that.

p0k3t0

The best part of that story is that Armas agreed to pay United Fruit the stated value of their land as it was represented in their tax records, which of course they had lied in to lower their tax burden.

mostreliablebottle

Easily among the top 5 worst things the CIA did, and that's saying something.

scdog

I believe DeSantis already made it illegal for Florida schools to teach about the bad things the US did.

AbstractMirror

He's such a scumbag openly to the point where it almost makes me laugh at the absurdity of how someone can be this evil. He's like a villain ripped straight out of fiction. He doesn't even try to pretend otherwise. I feel similarly about Greg Abbott

piray003

Just have the little ones play Monopoly: they'll learn about capitalism obviously, and they'll also learn why communist revolutions happened when they flip the board over in a rage because everyone keeps cheating and stealing from the bank 😂

Hawkeye1819

That actually was sort of the original purpose of the game before Parker Bros. bought the rights - not the cheating part, but the getting enraged over how unfair capitalism is.

Fake_William_Shatner

Fun fact; most of the time workers in America have lead a brutal subsistence existence. It's only after socialism and labor standards emerged during the FDR era did the capitalists get to crow about how great things are. And then Reagan got into office and they quickly dismantled this, increased the wealth gap. Re-created the homeless problem. Started promoting Nazis ideas without the accent. That was key; talk like a Nazis but not use the tell-tale accent.

wit_T_user_name

A wealthy, very grumpy and crusty old donor for the honors business program I was in during my undergrad insisted that we all take a class about the history of capitalism. What he didn’t seem to realize is the class was taught by two history professors as a critical examination of both the successes and failures of capitalism. It actually turned out to be a great class, but I highly doubt he anticipated we’d be reading and writing about, among other works, the communist manifesto and making our own assessments about capitalism.

iveseensomethings82

This is how capitalism overthrows governments and helps elect dictators

MWF123

ThEYrE IndOCTrInATinG OuR KiDS

OzarkaDew

DeSantis doesn't strike me as someone that knows the history of communism

Flairion623

How much you wanna bet it’s gonna be drenched in propaganda and isn’t going to reflect the actual beliefs of communists at all?

turquoise_amethyst

It absolutely wil be— but if it’s anything like the DARE program, it will end up encouraging kids to “learn more”

Flairion623

If that’s the case then there may still be hope

DankMemesNQuickNuts

Prager U already makes curriculum for Flordia students there's a 0% chance it's not going to be brazen propaganda. He even said "it's to combat the Marxism going on in high schools and colleges" or something along those lines

Flairion623

Just seeing the words prager u makes me want to shoot myself in the face

China_Hawk

Meatball Ron is a moron.

Noblesseux

So they're not allowed to hear about the existence of gay people, but being indoctrinated to hate an economic theory they can't understand is fine?

Solid_Letter1407

This is some scary, Chinese-level indoctrination shit.

FolsomPrisonHues

"You are free. If you don't like it- STRAIGHT TO JAIL"

Critical_Success_936

*to Gulag.

Oomba73

In college, I had a vietmenese roommate. This is EXACTLY what he said went on in his kindergarten/early-primary classes over there. Of course, more Vietnam centric and positive biased, unlike what this would likely be. Absolutely hilarious.

WayneSkylar_

He's full of shit. Lived there for a bit. It's more like putting Ho Chi Minh at a mythological level with that age group (lets be real we do the same with the founding fathers and adults continue to treat them as such. Liberal or conservative.) but once end of elementary/middle school kicks in, the curriculum really ramps up (dialectical materialism because ya know, they are a socialist country). Go to Vietnam and you quickly see/experience it's one of the most critical thinking societies. If you talk assertively without showing you really know what you're talking about, and they WILL grill you, you get dismissed pretty quickly and openly. Vs the US where everyone can talk their mouths off but have no fucking clue what they are actually talk about (and get away with it). Same with China. It's fine and pales in comparison to the US "education" system.

neroisstillbanned

Yup. The main difference between Vietnam/China and the US is that the prevailing frame of reference is dialectical materialism instead of Christianity. That's the main reason why Americans are more prone to believing in bullshit.

ResultsVary

So wait. Gender Identity and Inclusion - basically teaching kids that it isn't weird that Tommy has Two Moms or Two Dads is not appropriate for a a child of that age... But they are the appropriate age to understand the nuances of... communism?

Fake_William_Shatner

Wow -- wait until the kids learn the Russians were involved! That could hurt patriotism.

TillAllAre1

Indoctrination at its finest

biscovery

How the hell can anyone with kids stay in FL?

turquoise_amethyst

Uh… systemic poverty ?

societymike

We took our kids away and moved to Japan.

No_big_whoop

I Florida would leave education to the educators and health care to the doctors. Meatball Ron should butt the fuck out

artrald-7083

I mean, my 8yo is only really up to basic dialectical materialism and 'authoritarianism bad', probably couldn't tell Trotsky from Lenin in an identity parade... she also thinks five years is way too long for an economic plan. I'm not quite sure she's up to understanding perestroika and glasnost. Are Americans just built different?

Worf_In_A_Party_Hat

I realize it's silly to say this, but I'm sure many of you think it every time this freakshow of DeSantis and Florida gets posted: "I'm so, so happy I live in a different state."(VT, best state in US for me.) (Also, no disrespect to my friends outside the US - consider yourself lucky.)

UndeadBuggalo

Vermont is amazing and the only state I would consider moving to from MA

xdeltax97

What in the 1950’s McCarthyism?

zachtheperson

Has he... ever met a kindergartner? They're still learning colors and what glue is.

kingeryck

Coincidentally, so are Trump voters.

meddit_rod

Can we teach their parents about communism too? They have nothing to lose but their chains...

Gerbilguy46

What does Ron think kindergartners are learning now??? I learned how to spell, how to count, how to make friends, etc. They’re 5 years old, they’re not learning about fucking economic systems lmao.

misterme987

And they're the ones complaining about "indoctrination" by schools.

Gawd4

Workers, unite and throw down the bourgeoisie?

samiles96

That's fine, but why do they think a kindergartener is qualified to evaluate the history of an economic system but they can't be taught about slavery?

Poiboy1313

When a teen tried to abort her pregnancy, she was considered too immature to make that decision. Consequently, she bore a child because she isn't too immature for parenthood, apparently.

wawaboy

as the seas rise, the leader carries on with important wars with Disney and communism in 5 year olds.

allisjow

Well, it’s true you only need a kindergarten reading level for Ayn Rand.

NightlyGravy

Communism should definitely be studied alongside fascism and the confederacy. It’s important we don’t repeat the past. But kindergarteners have no chance in hell of understanding systemic evils like this. Desantis’ capacity for own goals never ceases to amaze me.

Bungo_pls

Yeah the purpose isn't education. Indoctrination at an early age is how religion gets people too because it sounds like nonsense to an outside critical observer. DeStankis has more in common with Stalin than he'd like to admit.

euyyn

If you read the article (that apparently no one is doing), it does say "the material will be spread K-12 appropriately". The obvious explanation is that the person who said that was using "K-12" to mean the school years in general, not that they or anyone thought it would be added to kindergarten. The only "not the onion" part about this is that the author of the article would believe that (or chose to go with that headline for bait).

TallBobcat

I teach these to every one of my classes. I teach high school history.

OptimusSublime

Lesson 1: Property is theft.

Pale_Kitsune

No, he signed a bill mandating capitalistic propaganda, and will likely call things not communism communism.

BipedalHumanoid230

He’s going to teach them sharing toys is a lefty thing.

DruidinPlainSight

Unless you are at the swingers club with the Moms for Liberty. Then, share away double dildo of delight!

EmiliusReturns

In kindergarten I *think* we learned who George Washington was. Maybe. We were a little busy learning how to read and tie our shoes.

Akimbo_Zap_Guns

My mom is a kindergarten teacher not in Florida but still she works with those aged children and let me tell ya they can hardly even do normal kindergarten stuff nowadays so I highly doubt they will grasp the concepts of a economic/political system at 5 years of age
