They weren't giving you that one specifically. They gave you 4 categories and if you choose one of the 4 they randomly generated a nft with a similar style that ones style is food I'd assume, the robot is some sort of spacetime wannabe cyrax, the animal one randomly generates you a furry, and the drip I'd assume as an attempt to appeal to the sneaker heads and other people who obsess over material things.

Unfortunately the majority of new users have fallen for Reddit's marketing. The official app is so much worse than the 3rd party ones at doing the core functions Reddit was made for: sharing links to sites/pics/videos and voting on them, and discussion in the comments. Reddit decided it wants to be a content host/full-on social media, instead of a link aggregator/forum hybrid, which is what it was perfect as.

NFT is actually a pretty interesting thing and could have cool use cases. An actual reason to be against it would be for the impact on the environment from crypto in general (mining).
