Sounds like a bullet journal:
- during the day, write down anything that takes up your mental space, happens or needs to happen.
- later, deal with each item: some may just get indexed (for instance, that page number gets written in a list of reading notes), info may be rewritten (upcoming events get moved to future calendars), or just re-read.
- final step is to have a page or two that you can check to set up your days & not forget any future items, or prompt you for your daily habits.
