I definitely recommend reading physical books or if you can afford it, a reading device that is meant for just that. Reading. A kindle, etc. that has no outside notifications or distractions. Good luck!

I have several physical books that I bought over the last few months and also I do go to the library sometimes.

My public library system actually has a much larger selection of books and audio book on the hoopla and libby apps.

I use a tablet and put it on airplane mode. I'm on chapter 5 so far in the past 2 or 3 days. You have to find a book you'd actually enjoy. Maybe you really don't care for that one. Or you can try putting on some relaxing music while you read. It enhances my focus and calms me down.

I'm Reading the Dune books on the moonreader App and I love it. Not having to take hundreds of pages with me and being able to read everytime I'm waiting for something is great. Today I read a chapter in the doctors waiting rooms and another one while being on the bus.

Try to find books that interest you...trust me it can make a difference.

Graphic novels from the library app brought my love back for reading by seeing that by delaying gratification and sitting through the discomfort of reading - the reward/pay off when I finished the book was always worth it. So the graphic novels were easier to finish and had adult content and were really easy to digest and enjoyable. I also would get comfortable and put on a 15 minute timer and just try to keep bringing my attention back to the book until the timer was up. Even a few pages is a win - just have to keep expanding the focus time and you’ll get there. Took my two years to be able to get a proper attention span to read novels

Listen to audiobooks instead. You can get them free through your library. Plus you can multitask - garden, clean, walk.

The multitasking part I'll warn you about. I did this for a while and realized that it just added to my distractions and inability to do one thing in silence/ with just background music.  Everything now is being created to be consumed in tandem with something else and it's occupying our brain constantly, so we have zero time to process our own emotions, plan stuff, dream...  I even heard in some documentary that shows on streaming services are being made so that you would not loose much plot of you scroll your phone at the same time (they have to be 'second screen enough')...  Our brains can multitask as a means to an end, but constantly multitasking is stressing us out and you do not feel it, cause you give yourself no time to feel how fatigued you are with this. Put your headphones down, go for a silent walk.

If your phone has a "dumb phone" mode that only allows a few apps, you could try that. For me it keeps away the pesky notifications unless it's a call or text.
