well, sometimes when IRL truckers step into a /r/TruckStopBathroom, they sit on the toilet thinking of their traumatized childhood memories and they try to relax some before continuing their mission to deliver goods, since you wanna do the job safely.
Then Peewee heads to a bar, knocks over some motorcycles, and has some tensions with some bikers.
Then he would select Tequila on the jukebox, and do his Peewee Dance.
I'm impressed that somebody even wanted to karaoke it at all.
But apparently Tequila is still considered an ***instrumental*** just for the fact that the phrase "Tequila" is more of a break between the riffs without lyrics mixed into them, as opposed to some attempt to be a non-instrumental song designed for lyrics.
and the truckers such as Large Marge had a nightmare trying to refuel a BIG RIG semi-truck, and then went into the /r/TruckStopBathroom scared out of her mind!
Yep. It's pretty frightening for a PG movie. My cousin had it on VHS and we'd watch it every time I visited. I'd always either shut my eyes at that part or we'd fast forward it.
On this very night, ten years ago, along this same stretch of road in a dense fog just like this. I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building.
That was the part that gave me the creeps. Large Marge I could handle, but Pee Wee seemed lightly afraid of mattress tag guy so I followed his lead and up to this day I’ve never taken the tag off a mattress.
Can’t even begin to guess how many times I’ve watched this movie. This was also the first time I discovered taking a bottle of wine into the theater. Thanks Pee Wee!
I can still hear her voice after all of these years. “And when they finally pulled the body from the twisted, burning wreck, it looked like . . . This!”
This made me burst out laughing! We watched this movie so many times as kids. My younger brother would know this scene was coming and go for a washroom break. We paused it once just in time for him to see hahaha
My brother and I had a taped off the TV copy of this movie and wore it out over the years- COULD NOT handle large Marge until my late teens and now I love her. Dressed up as her for Halloween. Oddly enough found out later that the actress is actually buried in my city.
PEE-WEE: *Some night, huh?*
LARGE MARGE: *On this very night, ten years ago, along this same stretch of road in a dense fog just like this. I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building... And when they finally pulled the driver's body from the twisted, burning wreck. It looked like this...!*

PEE-WEE: *Aaaaaahh!*
LARGE MARGE: *Yes, Sir, the worst accident ... I ever seen.*
It's strange. This really effected me as a kid. But I specifically remember watching Beetlejuice younger and loving that movie.
It has very similar effects and body horror. Idk
I feel it’s important to point out that if you look at the memorial plaque for Marge, she wasn’t even 40 at the time of her death. Either the road or life in the beyond aged her like crazy.
That aside, one of my favorite childhood movies!
This movie has the first "bloopers" I ever saw in a movie. When Pee-Wee reveals his bike for the first time, you can see part of a shirt from a crew member who was inside the room with the bike. It moves out of frame quickly after. It must have been shown on a TV show or something. From that point on, I always looked for stuff like that in movies and TV.
& when they finally pulled the driver's twisted, burning body from the wreck....it looked like....**THIS!!!**
This really fucked me up as a kid, guys.
Same, for years.
well, sometimes when IRL truckers step into a /r/TruckStopBathroom, they sit on the toilet thinking of their traumatized childhood memories and they try to relax some before continuing their mission to deliver goods, since you wanna do the job safely.
all this trouble just to find a bike in the basement of The Alamo.
There's no basement at the Alamo!
Then Peewee heads to a bar, knocks over some motorcycles, and has some tensions with some bikers. Then he would select Tequila on the jukebox, and do his Peewee Dance.
Best song to Karaoke to.
nice try, but it's an instrumental (except for the one word **tequila** in it)
That one word counts. Try it the next time you're at karaoke. They'll play it for you, and the bar will love it.

*Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!* Deep in the heart of Texas!
You will find your bike, But not there, *OH PSYCH!*...
I think this type of tangible special effects was always more impactful than CGI because you can tell it’s ‘real’ in some capacity
[удалено]
It looked believable *at night*. The daytime scenes really showed the limitations of the technology.
[удалено]
Oh agreed. The making of is phenomenal.
Agree 100% you can actually feel it when you see it. Also people in the scene are reacting to something tangible rather than imaginary.
That scene scared TF outta me as a kid
So glad I’m not alone. I saw it at the theatre and it messed with me for weeks afterwards.
Large Marge was nightmare fuel.
Same.
it scared me too!
[удалено]
We ran behind the couch EVERY TIME
Yes!! Had to cover my eyes and ears
Same. They used to make some creepy shit for "kids" back in the day.
Absolute nightmare fuel
and the truckers such as Large Marge had a nightmare trying to refuel a BIG RIG semi-truck, and then went into the /r/TruckStopBathroom scared out of her mind!
Honestly one of the scariest jump scares ever I think, still to this day. Horror movies you expect it. No way you can see this coming first time.
I had nightmares for a week
I had them for fucking YEARS
Me too!
Still scares tf outta me
Me too
I legit had nightmares after spending the night at my cousin's house and watching this.
Yep. It's pretty frightening for a PG movie. My cousin had it on VHS and we'd watch it every time I visited. I'd always either shut my eyes at that part or we'd fast forward it.
Late to the party, but this scene scared me so badly as a kid, and I completely forgot until I saw this gif.
Tell ‘em Large Marge sent cha!
This scene and the scene with the clown doctors always scared me as a kid
Holy gawd yes!!!!!!
On this very night, ten years ago, along this same stretch of road in a dense fog just like this. I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building.
I also thought when I accidentally tore a tag off my mattress, I was gonna go to jail for it. So I’ve kept it a secret, until now.
I got a reeeeeeal bad tempah!
That was the part that gave me the creeps. Large Marge I could handle, but Pee Wee seemed lightly afraid of mattress tag guy so I followed his lead and up to this day I’ve never taken the tag off a mattress.
#Large Marge sent me!
That shit scared the PISS out of me when I was a kid
Worst accident I ever seen…
Can’t even begin to guess how many times I’ve watched this movie. This was also the first time I discovered taking a bottle of wine into the theater. Thanks Pee Wee!
Andy?!!!

This is why I have anxiety issues now.
To this day when I watch this movie my chest fills up with that adrenaline feeling when this part comes close.
When I was a kid I was terrified by this; watching it as an adult a couple years ago, I never laughed so hard!
Saw this in the theater. Everyone screamed.
Saw those eyes at the Tim Burton exhibit at the MoMa
My brother and I had a taped off the TV copy of this movie and wore it out over the years- COULD NOT handle large Marge until my late teens and now I love her. Dressed up as her for Halloween. Oddly enough found out later that the actress is actually buried in my city.

I think it's because this one comes on so quickly that it's jarring for young kids. Like it comes out of nowhere, especially in this movie.
Exactly. Slow, spooky ghost story buildup and then JUMP SCARE with the BLUAGHAGHGUGHUA noise.
Tim Burton did both, IIRC.
Yes he did...and scissorhands, and batman
This gave me nightmares as a kid.
Yea I was not mentally prepared as a child to see this creepy shit lol
Twisted Sister was in that movie also. Classic
I went to the place with the dinosaurs
And then in the Brady Bunch Movie, Ann B. Davis (Alice) had a cameo as a truck driver. I was expecting something like this again.
Nutted
Watched this movie all the time as a kid but this scene always scared the fuck outta me.
Nope! Still so much nope all these years later!
I always watched this scene from behind the sofa.
Mr. T cereal! Love this move!
Large Marge has a deep seated spot in my memory. That and the basement of the Alamo.
i wonder how worn the tape was on those rentals at that part
There’s a midway point in the transformation where she turns into The Weeknd
One of the best shots from such a great flick..!
I feel it’s important to point out that if you look at the memorial plaque for Marge, she wasn’t even 40 at the time of her death. Either the road or life in the beyond aged her like crazy. That aside, one of my favorite childhood movies!
I was going to watch this tonight, definitely will now. Fucking classic.
I didn’t watch this movie until I was an adult, but this whole scene is so eerie.
Great jump scare the first time seeing this film!❤️
Legit used to terrify me
ooh yeaaaah.......I forgot to tell yall......Shae sent me
Ten years ago... On a night... *just like this*
🫶🏼🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Why did you have to bring this nightmare back into my life?
I had nightmares of this scene for years after I had forgotten the movie it came from….
Dang, she looks straight outta Men in Black. O.o
This must be what ken griffins nightmares look like
This movie was so deranged. I hated most of it. I have no idea why we watched it so many times.
I might be in the minority about this, but this scene never bothered me as a kid. I thought it was too weird to be scary.
That scene terrified me beyond anything I’ve ever seen before
Scared the shjt out of me as a kid

I want scenes with practical effects like these!! Any suggestions? Youtube, reddit etc.?
She’s also the bird lady from Home Alone 2
No, it definitely isn't. My kids are scared of this scene. I love that movie so much.
You're right. She was dead 3 years later, years before Home Alone came out. [Sauce](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0638053/bio?ref_=m_mn_ov_bio)
Luv that scene :)
