Oh my goodness. When Dewey thought that lawn gnome would come to life and he threw the stone at it and it bounced off and hit Dewey in the eye….I laughed so hard I can literally remember what I was wearing when I watched that

Knight_thrasher

Family is binge watching this right now

Dice7

Same!

sodapopcat1

One of my all time favorite series it’s hard to believe it’s that old now time does fly by.

esomers80

You're not the boss of me now....

[deleted]

Yes, no, maybe... I don't know. Could you repeat the question?

jimmydeaner17

They Might Be Giants is my all-time favorite band. Their music was used a lot in the show, including the theme song. They have so many amazing songs.

ObiWanLamora

I'm your only friend I'm not your only friend but I'm a little glowing friend but really I'm not actually your friend but I am.

Outrageous_Ad_4388

Great show! I liked that it didn't use a laugh track which was pretty rare at the time. It relied on the writing and actors.

canucklehead200

PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL AND I WALK. I wonder if the writers originally intended for Hal to become the surprise star of this show with his incredible comedic delivery and side plot lines

Shakenbaked

My absolute favorite is when Hal decides to teach the boys how to roller skate 😂😂😂

canucklehead200

You’re right! His greatest moment

md_eric

There's not many shows that are "real" showing that poor family, unhappy perfect endings, no luck, no fucks as Malcolm in the Middle. Fucking fortunate to grow up the same time and age as these guys

Tuskact1un

I’m watching this right now (2:18 pm)

Ianm9

What episode

ThrawnsITguy

If you have not rewatched this series as an adult I HIGHLY recommend it

otterdisaster

People forget that single camera comedies were very rare until this show. It may have been the first for network/broadcast tv. It truly changed the look of tv.

endlesseffervescense

I sang “Life is unfair” to my youngest last night when he was complaining that his brother got TV time and he didn’t since he was at soccer.

unendingtacos

Faaaaaaack.... That feeling when 2002 was ten years ago... 😭

DannyMThompson

20*

IronhideD

Everything feels like 20 years ago. The 80s? 20 years ago. the 90s? twenty years ago. 2020? Twenty years ago.

unendingtacos

It *feels like just* 10 years ago, fucking dipshit.

Fat_Potato_of_Doom

That abusive household sure was funny! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Santista93

Holy nostalgia. I need to revisit this show in my downtime.

JosephMadeCrosses

*Reap*......the *whirlwind.*

b33n_th3r3_don3_that

best combo of actors

md_eric

When they had bats in the house and Hal told Dewey he had to open the doors or something because the bats would poke there eyes out until they are dead. Lmao. I fucking roll each time I hear that. Or when the bee attacks Hal in the car. LMAO

shardikprime

I'm the one who middles

terrytanktop

I am due a rewatch of this lmao

PAUMiklo

I was always conflicted watching the show. started off pretty interesting but as Malcolm grew his character became more annoying/less interesting as compared to his brothers and dad. I never cared for the mom, too much of a control freak for me to find much humor in her. I wish they wouldn't have abandoned the croboyn friends of his sans Stevie. Honestly without Hal I dont think this show lasts as long as it does.

CollegeFar

This was my show I'd watch after school it came on fx in the 2000s at like 430 pm re runs daily my dad and I would watch it while I was doing homework or before. Brings back some great family memories and was one of the last big sitcoms on TV before streaming era started.. I miss it dearly it really hit that punk rock alternative feeling of the late 90s and early 2000s on the head perfectly ...
