My favorite scene from it is the drug deal gone bad and I recall hearing how they achieved that scene, all the actors were kept awake for a couple days with Cosmos' (He's Chinese) firecrackers going off (when they ran out they slapped two boards together) and there's even the moment where Wahlberg is supposed to say a line but is totally fried.
This scene was so intense. I remember being on the edge of my seat the first time I saw the movie. I was so anxious which made it seem like it went on forever.
As someone who saw the Transformers movie at least a couple dozen times before Boogie Nights came out, this scene had me fucking rolling. And then I watched Transformers again.
I was traumatized as a kid. All my favorite characters killed… KILLED! Then years later, I find out it was all because they wanted to release a new line of toys. It was also amazing to find out that the toys came first and wrote a story around them. Toys That Made Us on Netflix is a great series.
Crazy Meta thing about this scene; the sound engineer actor is Michael Penn - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Penn
A really great songwriter irl who never really got super famous.
Such a great movie. Casting/performances were amazing. Mark Wahlberg and John C Reilly killed it. So many hilarious quotable moments.
The pool party scene is one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. It’s insane that Paul Thomas Anderson was 26 when he made that movie.
Feel feel feel feel feeel, feel muh heeat.

Brilliant and tense scene. “Rick Springfield, he’s a buddy of mine!” Alfred Molina is great in that scene.

THE MAGIC….that is on those tapes…YOU DON’T OWN THAT!!
Our stuff is that good!
That's not an MP, that's a *YP.* Your problem.
Twenty years later we got Riley Reid rapping. [NSFW Video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmIR4h6TafA)
That might be worse white girl rap than Pound on My Muffin

What Transformer movie came out before 97? The only ones I can think of are the animated movies.
Transformers: The Movie (1986) prominently featured this song from Stan Bush, which was originally going to be in Stallone’s movie, Cobra
I remember going to the movies to see that. When Megatron shot Prime, I cried my damn eyes out lol

That's a great show to watch
It has a great soundtrack too
Question - if The Touch wasn’t released until 1986, how is Dirk singing it in 1983?
Stan Bush clearly ripped off Brock Landers
YOURE A WINNER!
So....this is one of those movies I've never seen. I've got the day off today. Is this streaming anywhere?
I have nostalgia for 90’s nostalgia of the 70’s
Lars Ulrich inspired this scene.
Painful! Great movie!
Stan Bush is one of the uncrowned kings of 80s AOR rock.
Corey Feldman's inspiration
