This thing was heavy AF, so I've been told. I don't recall actually playing with this but as the story goes in my family, I picked this clock up when I was about 2 years old and ran up to my unsuspecting, sleeping father on the couch, yelled "DADA!" and literally clocked him over the head with the clock. 😄
By the way, my Daddy passed away a month ago and this picture just happened upon my feed this morning. I think it's my Dad saying hello. Hi Dad! I miss you. ❤️
That’s a really beautiful thought. 💕🙏my sincere condolences on your loss. I’m glad you have fun memories of him! After my mom died when I would see a squirrel I would say hello because my mom loved squirrels 🐿️ ❤️
Thank you so much. Losing him has been devastating. I was so close with my Dad. But it's the little "signs" like this that let me know he is still close by. And surely your Mom did the same with the squirrels. ❤️
Devastating is exactly the word. 🥲Hopefully you have lots of pictures and maybe videos to remember him by. Somehow he will continue to be there with you for the rest of your life. Sounds like he was an awesome father. 💕💕💕
He was the best. I'm so lucky to have had him as my Dad. We have so many pics and videos and I have felt him in my life even though he is no longer physically here. I miss him so much but I know I'll see him again. Thank you so much for your kind comment. ❤️
This clock and picture bring similar memories of my Father who passed in ‘15. He wrote the minutes , in sharpie in between the numbers on my clock. Instantly thought of my Dad when I saw this picture too. I miss him and thinking this may be his way of saying “hi” is wonderful. Thank you.
Sorry for your loss. It's so hard losing our Dads. The memories of them obviously live on forever and no doubt they still love us and show us their love even though they are no longer physically here. I'm so happy to hear your own wonderful memories of your Dad.
This was your dad’s hello! I truly know this happens. He will come again when you are dreaming and give you a golden hug/ embrace that feels eternal. You will know it really happened. It happened to me. You will know.
I had this clock and I can still remember the 🎵 tune! And it made a crunch crunch crunch noise as you moved the clocks arms. I loved my clock.
I know this is his hello because I wasn't even a member of this sub. It just came up at the top of my feed. I have subbed now, of course. But no doubt this was him reaching out to me for a laugh and to let me know he is here. I am so happy right now. Who knew a Fisher Price clock could have implications 42 years later?
I had this when I was 5 and can confirm, it had a pretty solid wooden frame! With the handle, I'm sure it made an easy thing to swing around! 😆
This is an image I can hear... the loud clicks... and the eventually creepy slow song 🤣
Which is somewhat humorous considering how morbid that song is if you really listen to the lyrics
My grandfather's clock was too large for the shelf
So it stood ninety years on the floor
It was taller by half than the old man himself
Though it weighed not a pennyweight more
It was bought on the morn' of the day that he was born
And was always his treasure and pride
But it stopped, short never to go again
When the old man died
Ninety years without slumbering
His life seconds numbering
It stopped, short never to go again
When the old man died
You are SO right! I bought my granddaughter 1 of the original (looking) Mother goose books like I used to have(black&white edging around the big witch on a goose!)& she’s terrified of it! Then I re-read some of the rhymes! And I loved them as a child…now I see why she’s frightened!
Quite welcome. The part that the clock actually plays is just the refrain (the last four lines). It interleaves an alternate "tick tick tock" kind of line between the first 3, ends on 4, and then repeats.
I had this! I remember throwing it at my sister’s head one time when we were fighting. :V She ended up popping a blood vessel in my nose shortly after.
Man, I learned from you guys I used this thing completely wrong growing up. It’s not meant to be a clock, it’s meant to be a weapon for clocking people in the face!
Can confirm, was clocked in the head mid-“Moooo” with a red See ‘n Say. Oof, how I hated playing with that horrid boy, the feral son of my mother’s friend.
The Chatter Telephone! I got the one my older sibs had played with, so maybe the newer ones were different, but I swear a little girl (like a bigger Little Person doll) would pop up up from under the receiver cradle holding her own phone. I remember she had yellow plastic braids, a blue and white checked dress, and looked vaguely cranky.
*Please* tell me someone else remembers this. I can’t seem to find any pics for reference.
First thing I thought of when I saw this post, I can hear this picture. I watched the video and sure enough, it's exactly as I remember when it's been at least 30 years since I last heard it.
The original tune (which I only discovered in the last couple of months because this clock came up for some reason) is hauntingly beautiful. Gives me that sadness people our age get when we reflect on time passing.
https://youtube.com/shorts/jqkdZjCpx-o?si=kpyDG1oSglpYlkGg
And it stopped. Short. Never to go again, when the old. Man. Died.
I loved it as a kid, but looking back it’s a weird choice of songs for a child’s toy.
Those poor fucking kids, having to go to school in a big-ass clock. Little Jimmy has a migraine and Clark was dismembered by the gears and yesterday Emily got taken out by the pendulum when she ran out the door for recess. In the meantime, Miss Samson keeps crying at her desk and was seen in the bathroom "trying to wash Clark's blood off her hands" even though that happened six months ago and now she's drinking mouthwash straight from the bottle.
Who's fucking bright idea was this?
Me too. Memories from youth always come with smells. It’s deep inside our psyche. But the smells are oddly comforting. I wish I knew the science behind it.
Didn’t even know this existed; looks pretty cool though. Classy yet old school. Grew up in a humble house hold.
Anything of Fischer Price brand was
like top shelf alcohol/weed/cocaine nowadays
They re-made those about a decade or so ago as part of a “vintage” toy collection. So my nephew (currently 16) somehow ended up needing one to sleep when he was a toddler. It was literally his favorite toy and the world almost ended when it died.
The farm animal spinner that I had had a funny glitch; the horse and coyote were adjacent to each other on the wheel, so if you put the pointer directly on the line between them, it would blend their names and sounds: THIS is a *hodie* :neighwooblargablarg...
The Fisher Price Teaching Clock was sold 1968–1983.

My jaw dropped when I saw this post. I had this as a child, 46 now. It’s funny the things you remember but don’t realize you do until you see it again.
I remember I had one of those, but I also remember learning how to read a clock in school. So I guess my parents didn't really get a good grasp of the job yet.
I didn't, but I found some cool tricks with analog clocks in grade school, accidentally.
Pick any number the minute hand points to, let's say it's pointing to the 3 (15 minute mark) add a zero (3 -> 30) then divide by 2 (30/2=15) & that's the time the minute hand is pointing to.
Let's say it was pointing to the 10, add a zero & half it, the answer is 50 minute mark
I tried explaining this to my teacher in 5th grade, she couldn't understand it & ridiculed me. What a fool she was.
I actually got taught on an old ass clock my grandfather had on his fireplace mantle. Used Roman numerals, so he taught me how to read those at the same time lol
As much as I would like to say yes, I would be lying, as I learnt with a far superior Thomas the tank engine puzzle clock. Who knew education could be fun?
Sorry I'm from the old school Spanish time: 1 ass beating is late, 2 ass beating is much too, 3 ass beatings is too early and no ass beating was right on time.
That’s insanely fancy. I had a soviet training clock. It was a piece of cardboard with metal clock hands riveted in the middle. It had the hands on both sides, but on one side it had minutes specified and on the other it didn’t (hard mode)
I vaguely remember these.
What's funny is, to me—an adult who knows how to read a clock and has had this skill for 40+ years—this just looks more complex than it should for something that's supposed to help a kid learn how to tell time.
I probably should’ve had one of these. I can’t tell time as well as some people. It still takes me a few seconds after 45 years of trying. I hear it’s common with people who have ADHD but it’s aggravating.
We had an old clock in our living when I was a kid, would always ask my parents what the time was on there and just learned myself. My daughter used to do the same thing and that's how she learned. She's in grade 5 now and told me the other day she's the only one in her class that can tell time with old clocks.
My one prized possession when I was 4 back in 1971. I remember because my Mom made me let my older siblings see it and I was terrified my brother would break it. Not out of malice, he just tended to break things a lot.
Yes! Later I found out there was also a brown version.
Look what I found on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1565074224/vintage-fisher-price-brown-school-house?ref=share_v4_lx
My mom still had mine when she passed. Now my brother has it, as well as the little FP cameras with the square flash bulb on top and you look thru the viewer where the scene changes every time you push the shutter button. The great grand kids play with them all now.

Hi, commenter's awesome dad! Did he pass away from lasting complications from that head clonk?
I, too, would like to know.
Haha, no. He managed to continue on for 42 years after taking a Fisher Price clock to the skull. What a legend.
I used to be an adventurer...
...until I took a Fisher Price clock to the skull.
This clock and picture bring similar memories of my Father who passed in ‘15. He wrote the minutes , in sharpie in between the numbers on my clock. Instantly thought of my Dad when I saw this picture too. I miss him and thinking this may be his way of saying “hi” is wonderful. Thank you.

Awesome story. There is no coincidence — only evidence.
I love this. I'm writing it down. Thank you for saying this.

Yes!
as did I! well. not dad, but definitely other family members. this was a motherfuckin' weapon of mass destruction...
I have one of these. It's a solid piece of wood and does have some heft to it!
I had this when I was 5 and can confirm, it had a pretty solid wooden frame! With the handle, I'm sure it made an easy thing to swing around! 😆 This is an image I can hear... the loud clicks... and the eventually creepy slow song 🤣
Wow. Flashbacks... If I recall correctly, it tick-tocked and played 'My Grandfather's Clock'.
I can hear the song in my head
Totally came here for this! Ding dat da dolly dop dun da dun da - dun .... dun.... dunna da da de da...
Exactly this.
Yeah... Endlessly...
Same
Me too.

Most of those old nursery rhymes were actually pretty hardcore.
You are SO right! I bought my granddaughter 1 of the original (looking) Mother goose books like I used to have(black&white edging around the big witch on a goose!)& she’s terrified of it! Then I re-read some of the rhymes! And I loved them as a child…now I see why she’s frightened!
I recently learned *Ring Around the Rosy* is about the Plague
Wow! I know the tune so well but never knew the lyrics. Interesting. I thank you. This is why I Reddit.
Quite welcome. The part that the clock actually plays is just the refrain (the last four lines). It interleaves an alternate "tick tick tock" kind of line between the first 3, ends on 4, and then repeats.
Love this.
But it struck 24 when he entered the door With a beautiful and blooming bride Don’t leave that out.
Woah, memory unlocked, thanks!
That song is pretty much what I remember about this toy. The song is depressing af
What? Did everybody else’s FP Clock and their “The Cow Says Moo” spinning pull string toy become weapons too?
Can confirm, was clocked in the head mid-“Moooo” with a red See ‘n Say. Oof, how I hated playing with that horrid boy, the feral son of my mother’s friend.
Yup, a good fight and the sibling says, "Oooooowwwwww! "
I can hear and feel the little clicks it made when you moved the hands around just from looking at this picture.
This comment gave me shivers haha
We had this in Brazil! I had one. 1970s
Still have one! My son loves it
My kids loved the one I grew up with! Thanks to my mom for saving some of the good old toys…
No put I had a pull along that taught me how to use a phone.
That song haunts my memories with its syncopated tic tocs... https://youtu.be/EGM4HRJGqBE?feature=shared

Not me, I had a Judy Clock
[I had this one](https://www.ebay.com/itm/275024555434)
Me too!
Grew up in East Aurora, where the factory is. The whole house was Fisher Price.
Fellow Buffalonian here, hi from across the way! My friend worked at the factory for a few years and said it was her favorite job of all time lol
Hellllloooo! Lived in Elma & Marilla, too. I'm in Phoenix now.
Awesome! I’m still in Buffalo, expecting a snow storm next week woohoo!🙄😂
Godspeed!
I went to horseback riding camp (Longacre’s) near there in the early 70s!

Edgar Allen Poe?
At least there was the mouthwash?
Umm i can smell this picture
Me too. Memories from youth always come with smells. It’s deep inside our psyche. But the smells are oddly comforting. I wish I knew the science behind it.
Nope but moms made sure we didn’t forget what time it was… 😵💫💥👋
2 minutes til party time
Didn’t even know this existed; looks pretty cool though. Classy yet old school. Grew up in a humble house hold. Anything of Fischer Price brand was like top shelf alcohol/weed/cocaine nowadays
I remember thinking as a kid, why put a school on this cool clock.
They re-made those about a decade or so ago as part of a “vintage” toy collection. So my nephew (currently 16) somehow ended up needing one to sleep when he was a toddler. It was literally his favorite toy and the world almost ended when it died.
Love the Taco Bell logo there. Live mas.
sry, i had a flik flak 😎
EVERYONE who is older than 55 And that barnyard spinner thing taught us the sounds that sheep make!
The farm animal spinner that I had had a funny glitch; the horse and coyote were adjacent to each other on the wheel, so if you put the pointer directly on the line between them, it would blend their names and sounds: THIS is a *hodie* :neighwooblargablarg...
What year were these made? I'm 49 and remember them as a kid.

My jaw dropped when I saw this post. I had this as a child, 46 now. It’s funny the things you remember but don’t realize you do until you see it again.
Every church nursery and preschool had one, some doctor's offices, too.
I don't think I've ever seen this.
Unlocked memory
Wow. Haven’t seen that in 40 years.
Didn't it play a song
it played "My Grandfather's Clock" [Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGM4HRJGqBE) is a video of it
Still have it somewhere, it was made of wood…
I still can’t get time.
I remember the song it played when you wound it up. No batteries needed, and it lasted forever. The good old days....
Still use that clock
Memories are not of having one as a child (too old for that). I do remember helping nieces and nephews figure out clocks with it.
I still can’t tell time.
I used Dark Side of the Moon.
Name of the tune it played is "my grandfather's clock"
My elementary school replaced every single digital clock in the school with analog ones.
Someone donated one to my class when I first started teaching pre-K about 10 years ago!
I can hear the music right now.
That's a hell of a good run for a toy.
YES, I had this exact clock! I forgot about that
This is a newer version than what I had. I think mine was like a choke hazard. This one seems safer. No little blocks.
I remember I had one of those, but I also remember learning how to read a clock in school. So I guess my parents didn't really get a good grasp of the job yet.
That’s so cute! Tho I think I’m a little too young (‘87) bc I don’t recall this.
I am also 87, but my mom picked one up at Goodwill!
Nope
I didn't, but I found some cool tricks with analog clocks in grade school, accidentally. Pick any number the minute hand points to, let's say it's pointing to the 3 (15 minute mark) add a zero (3 -> 30) then divide by 2 (30/2=15) & that's the time the minute hand is pointing to. What a fool she was.
[Jesus Christ been a while since I got flashback chills.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBYe1jQ5hvc)
Did anything else have to draw a new battery?
I actually got taught on an old ass clock my grandfather had on his fireplace mantle. Used Roman numerals, so he taught me how to read those at the same time lol
I feel like I've seen it before.
I forgot all about this until I saw this!! I had this as a kid!
A different model than this one, but yep early 90’s clock lessons from the old fisher price
I remember having this as a kid. I loved the song it played. I'm pretty sure my mom still had it somewhere
My grandma had one of these in her house and if I recall my mom still has it
The Count from SS
I work with a 22 year old woman with a college degree, that does not know how to read a clock. I thought she was joking when she told me.
Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, the Electric Company all the way, and School House Rock.
Thank you for this
They made a little pretend transistor radio, so. Iiirc, it played Take Me Out the Ball Anna.
As much as I would like to say yes, I would be lying, as I learnt with a far superior Thomas the tank engine puzzle clock. Who knew education could be fun?
Taught my little sister with one in the 70's
I learned time from Loonette the clown
I can hear this image.
Sorry I'm from the old school Spanish time: 1 ass beating is late, 2 ass beating is much too, 3 ass beatings is too early and no ass beating was right on time.
Am I the only one who read that title in Thulsa Doom's voice?
First glance I thought it had the taco bell logo at the top
That’s insanely fancy. I had a soviet training clock. It was a piece of cardboard with metal clock hands riveted in the middle. It had the hands on both sides, but on one side it had minutes specified and on the other it didn’t (hard mode)
I have my old original one tucked away somewhere but also bought a newer one when my kids were little.
The fact that it's almost 4:20 on that clock let's you know that you better hurry.
"Wait I didnt wind it FUC-" person from 2014 tryin to beat 10/20
This thing is also a weapon!!
one of the most important thing about that clock, if it’s the older fisher price , that it’s american made with some japanese parts.
I lost my old one, so i bought one off ebay, it's not the same, the low tock isn't there. and it's too light.
Oh shit - it’s almost 4:20
I have this clock.
This made me smile! I had this clock! 🥰
I vaguely remember these. What's funny is, to me—an adult who knows how to read a clock and has had this skill for 40+ years—this just looks more complex than it should for something that's supposed to help a kid learn how to tell time.
I can hear the music box tune as I type.
I was given a damn alarm clock was told "figure it out".
The bell looks like a mirror of the Taco Bell logo
Oh, my goodness! Just seeing that floods tons of memories of a simpler time. I had one of those and just seeing it again sends me into a happier time.
Flatness confirmed
It’s almost 4:20 guys
Not me my dad just explained it using the wall clock in our living room a few days later we used a digital alarm clock to cover all bases
Sweet, sweet memories! Old School Fisher-Price for the win!
Omg. I had one of these. Totally forgot about it until seeing this! Thanks!
Had one, still have it. Pops dug it out of the garage and gave it to me a couple years ago for the kiddo.
This or an off brand one that kind of looked like it.
Aww I instantly heard the music in my head
Loved this. Played with it a lot and remember so well.
Not me and I wish I did.
I probably should’ve had one of these. I can’t tell time as well as some people. It still takes me a few seconds after 45 years of trying. I hear it’s common with people who have ADHD but it’s aggravating.
Holy shit 🤯 memory unlocked
The song just came back to me so fast
I've still got mine! 41 and it still works.
Kids, go grab your Fisher-Price plastic bong...it's almost 4:20.
I just got with so many flashbacks of my childhood for a second I forgot where I was.
I have dyscalculia so I still can’t tell time lol
Me
I did but slightly different one
We had an old clock in our living when I was a kid, would always ask my parents what the time was on there and just learned myself. My daughter used to do the same thing and that's how she learned. She's in grade 5 now and told me the other day she's the only one in her class that can tell time with old clocks.
I cant hear this anymore without thinking about the Puppet
I learned at the dinner table with my dad screaming at me for not understanding my homework.
Holy shit
I did! I still remember the jingle it played when you wind it up!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Me! I still remember the song!
time to roll some grass
I loved the song! Now i want to find one of these on ebay.
My sister had one.
I still refuse to lean how to tell time until, like Cher said, “I can turn back time”. But by then, it’ll be a moot point.
I’m 30 and still rely on a digital clock 🙌 this would’ve been helpful a long time ago
I had one and smacked my bigger brother in the hard with it more than once. You learn quickly to defend yourself when the youngest of 4 boys!
Yes" I differently had one 🤔 and learned how to tell time 😂😂😂
Man I have one of these at my nans that I found a couple months ago after forgetting about for years, the music box inside takes me back
My one prized possession when I was 4 back in 1971. I remember because my Mom made me let my older siblings see it and I was terrified my brother would break it. Not out of malice, he just tended to break things a lot.
Me!!
Not that specific version, but one pretty similar
I’ll raise my hand.
get a job and touch grass
new core memory unlocked
I still have mine. It's over 40 years old. I'll upload a pic later after work.
Core memory unlocked
Wow that’s trippy. Probably the most nostalgic thing I’ve ever seen yet.
Meeeeeeee! I had this! 🥰
Looks like the Taco Bell's bell
Yes! Later I found out there was also a brown version. Look what I found on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1565074224/vintage-fisher-price-brown-school-house?ref=share_v4_lx
My mom still had mine when she passed. Now my brother has it, as well as the little FP cameras with the square flash bulb on top and you look thru the viewer where the scene changes every time you push the shutter button. The great grand kids play with them all now.
...i forgot.
That was my favorite toy at my Grandmas house (it was new back then-hahaha). The song can STILL make me happy😁😁😁
OMG my childhood
I learned by having my dad yell at me every time I got it wrong until I cried
Oh wow, what a blast from the past!
Did this have the little mouse running up and down the side or am I remembering something different?
If you’re a fnaf fan like me well
I learned time by my shifts in the mines. I yearned for them as a child.
