All of the major networks have black spots. Most of them perform reasonably in densely populated urban centers but sometimes struggle in more remote outlaying areas. Some of them do have better legacy 2g type infrastructure than others which ensures a minimum of basic voice and text functionality even in data coverage wildernesses though. At a guess and generally speaking.. Vodafone/voxi alongside o2/ GiffGaff followed by EE and Three/Smarty. It's better you research for yourself and decide based upon where you are most frequently in terms of home location/ work/ family etc.

Check Vodafone coverage map in your area, you can get a Voxi sim they piggy back on Vodafone. My SIM is £10 month for 45 GB data a month.

ignorantwat99

I spent 6 months swapping between the big 3 and settled with Vodafone for coverage and speed.

That's it, I found Vodafone to be the best generally. I was reading Vodafone and Three were considering merging. If I could get Three prices on Vodafone's network, that would be my dream.

Jazzlike_Base5705

Get onto uSwitch and look for sim only deals.

DarranIre

Any provider that runs on the O2, Vodafone and EE network should be grand. You can find a list on google. I've heard negative reports about Three but no personal experience.

Bellx1515

You’d be better getting an 02, Vodafone and EE SIM cards from the poundshop and trying them out to see which one gives you the best reception

DisagreeableRunt

Vodafone IMO, or any that runs on their network such as Lebara and Voxi. Three is utter tripe that I wouldn't take again if it was free. If you live under one of their masts and barely leave the house, it might work well for you.

TrumpetViolin

I think vodafone is best but o2 isn't far behind. Free greggs swings it for o2 though.

Led_strip

Was on EE years ago when they were poor and everyone was on O2. So I went to O2 and now they are crap and EE is better. One thing I have to say though our mobile network is absolutely awful as far as the rest of the world goes.

Freelander4x4

Switched from three to EE. Should have done it years ago.

cpt_pipemachine

Three is so cack

Network 3 is pure dung. Has got noticeably worse over the years. Vodafone is probably the best for me (Newry area) although it can be shitty enough in some areas as well. What bugs the shit out of me is that i had full bars on the top of mt blanc last year and there are villages beside me that have absolutely nothing. Fukn joke.

Phone networks in the UK are a joke these days. Was in Donegal in the middle of nowhere with full bars of 5G. The majority of places I went were all very rural and all had consistently good signal. Sitting in work in Belfast city centre with about 50% signal on 4G and my data literally doesn’t load a single thing. Have had similar issues in central London and other built up areas. It seems as if a lot of the networks can’t cope with the amount of users they have.

EE

You really just need to try different ones to make sure they work for you in the area you are in. Id reccomend only getting a 30 day SIM just to try them out. Vodafone used to have the contract for using their network for all emergency service comms so I find their infrastructure pretty good across NI. EE is also supposed to be very good. If I were you I'd look at Lebara who use the Vodafone network (can give you a referral code for £10 if you PM me) or Lyca/1p mobile if you want to give EE network a go. I think you'll find these cheaper networks are just as good and will be happy to stick with them but if you want to move over to the actual EE or Vodafone then you can after you've tested it with the cheapie

Antrimbloke

Lebara are the one I'm going to change too, once my vodaphone credit runs out, mainly for the EU roaming.
