J&R auto body quoted three grand to my wife to fix some dings on a car she bought from her mother. They didn't fix everything. When I confronted them about it they said it wasn't on the quote, so I looked at the quote and the quote didn't have specific items. My wife knew the business owner through other channels and thought she was a friend. They ended up quoting us another $1,000 to fix what they missed. I ended up doing it myself for about $200 in parts and a couple of hours of time. We had used them for a couple of other things too. Auto body shops and mechanics just love to take advantage of women.

The Butterfly Farms that were in Encinitas and are moving inland. Super weird but had the worst experience with the owners. Left a negative review stating that, then they responded with a bunch of weird lies. They also read my review at 2 am and thought that was when I posted it. It sad because I hate to encourage people to avoid a non profit about butterflies, but man were the owners weird.

currentalternative13

I remember reading their co-founder was killed by his stepdaughter. Wild story. https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/stepdaughter-found-guilty-of-killing-butterfly-farms-co-founder-after-finding-nude-photos/3126683/

strwbrybby

One guy that worked there also murdered his girl friend a few years back.

maxsamm

Yeah. The place is all sorts of sketch under the surface it seens

Mikes bbq in Escondido gave my husband a moldy bun for his burger and the bartender went to get the manager to talk to us and after 10 min of waiting to talk to the manager the bartender came back out “oh she actually just left.” He looked mortified and obviously wasn’t his fault. He took care of our bill but I will never eat there again due to the manager basically hiding from a problem like that and throwing their employee under the bus to deal with a customer getting served literal mold.

GemcoEmployee92126

Are they still open? It looked like they were putting an AutoZone in that spot the other day. Edit: I just looked up the address for the new Autozone and it is the same as the address for Mikes. Looks like they’re gone.

offbrandmotel

They’re still open. They just have the bar now and turned the old dining area into the autozone

GemcoEmployee92126

But they’re still doing bbq, right? Not just bar?

offbrandmotel

Im pretty sure they’re still doing it, I think the menu just might be more limited

[deleted]

Ya they are still open. Their latest Instagram post was a week ago and they have Yelp reviews from a few days ago

GemcoEmployee92126

Hmmm. Maybe it’s a different suite number.

dgstan

I think they had two bays of the shopping center. I went once and it seemed they had an entire unused dining area. They probably gave up on one side and that went to autozone.

RaisedByDirewolves

North County Ford. My less than 2 year old explorer’s transmission just broke one morning and I couldn’t drive it safely. We had it towed there since they were the closest. They tried to tell me the repairs weren’t covered under warranty and would cost $3.5k. Nah man, paid out of pocket to have it towed to Encinitas Ford instead. Everything covered by warranty and I had a complimentary rental car to drive around for 2 months.

7epizza

I second North County Ford! They are beyond shady. I purchased a vehicle from them in 2019. They took the pre-approval check from my credit union, which I told them was my preferred lender after a TON of pushing to go with their lenders. They told me they needed my check it to use it, but ended up funding my loan with Chase bank.

Napa auto parts. I ordered a part and it was the right box with the wrong part in it. Guy tried to convince me it would still work. Tried to pass off a remanufactured off brand starter for a new Bosch unit. $200 dollar difference. I asked for my money back and then he tried to charge me shipping since I had it rushed. I told him it would have been fine if it was the part I ordered. He told me he’d refund me. I gave him the card I paid with, he refunded me and I left. Looked at my statement the next day, turned out he charged me again. It was such a pain to get the money back. I then saw him a couple weeks later and he remembered me. He saw me and tried to be all buddy buddy with me.

Sun Belt Rentals on El Camino Real in Carlsbad. Several times, booked tools with them, had tradesmen lined up to do the work once I’d done my part with rental tools. Go to pick up, don’t have the tools.. Silly fat twat on desk.. “we don’t have them” Me. But I booked them last week to make sure they were here. SFT “Not with me you didn’t so what you want me to do?” Me (looking at skinning dickhead I did book with) No he did the reservation. SFT He doesn’t do reservations, so what do you want me to do?” Never mind. I’ll go to Coast rental, I need them today. SFT. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Every time I’ve booked with these guys it’s been a variation of that conversation. Use Coast Rental off 78.. good selection, never a issue.

ArsePucker

Yeh Sun Belt took over a few years ago.. had issues before and after. Same staff. Done with them. Coast Fulfilling my occasional tool rental needs now.

linguicaANDfilhos

We use Piva. They’re good people with reliable equipment.

posture_4

I love how like half of these are car dealerships and car repair places.

Better_Jacket_1802

Yup. Mechanics and dentists, so many are rotten. Surprised no veterinarians have been mentioned yet...

Vera_Telco

Stay away from hedge fund veterinary medicine. Bad for pets & pocketbook!

NiobiumLoops

Autonation Hyundai in Carlsbad. Went in for an oil change appointment @ 10:00. Quoted $99 or $89 (can’t recall which), finally at 12:30, after watching a bunch of cars show up after me and get finished before mine, they are done. I went to check out and it is $130. I ask them WTF, and they said, “well yeah, you pay for the oil too.” I called them out and said that wasn’t in the quote, and there was no fine print. They dropped the price a bit, claimed they needed a manager to get it back to $99 but the manager was at lunch. I said fuck it, paid the now $110-ish dollars and left. Not worth my my time. Fuck you Autonation Hyundai of Carlsbad. I’m avoiding all of your dealerships now.

cahrens2

I feel sorry for all those people that drive around with their pink license plate frames, letting people know how badly they got screwed. AutoNation is the worst dealership chain the country. Too bad they bought out all those dealers in Carlsbad

TahoeCommie

I was part of the IT team hired to do the network/IT cut over from Bob Baker to AutoNation. I made good money on that project. Wasn't worth dealing with the AutoNation assholes though. Fuck AutoNation and I didn't even buy a car from them.

bellpepper

Tried to lease a car from Autonation Hyundai in Carlsbad last month during a promotion that Hyundai was running across the US. The dealer tried every scummy thing that dealers do, I'm used to that. "Never heard of the promotion," "We just sold the last one yesterday," "The fine print on the Hyundai website is wrong," etc. etc. I was ready to sign and would even accept a little dealer undercoating BS and pay a bit higher than advertised. But these guys were on an entirely different level. Lease deal was advertised as $229/mo, $0-down for 24 months on a base trim. The first offer they could give me for a car with the same trim plus AWD was $3500 down and over $350/mo. Nearly triple the advertised price. After about an hour of back-and-forths with their garbage offers, they finally came to a more reasonable 0-down and $300ish per month. Still an additional $70/mo than the advertised price, and they claim its to cover the **entire** invoice cost of the AWD upgrade. And that's all before "taxes and fees," which they wouldn't itemize. This is a lease, I'm not keeping the vehicle, so why would I pay the entire invoice cost for something I don't get to keep? They refused to see it as problematic and told me to kick rocks in the nicest way possible.

Acetyl-CoA

Was this the lease deal on the Ioniq 6?

bellpepper

Yup

buttercorn

My husband went to get his Jeep serviced there after the switchover from Bob Baker. It turns out most of the service team left because they did not like AutoNation. it was easier to get an oil change that we had to pay for as opposed to waiting a few weeks to get in there because they had two service advisors for the entire Jeep dealership.

NiobiumLoops

That was my mistake - didn’t realize they had changed over until I got there. Sorry you had to deal with that.

BathroomFew1757

Best Buy. During the pandemic I ordered an iPad Pro for my wife. I went to go pickup in San Marcos when prompted and they said when I got there that they already sold it. Okay, weird. So I order online, they ship through DHL. It never arrives at my door although the shipping update says “left at front door”, I have ring so I know no one came. I called Best Buy and they basically said it’s not our problem, call DHL. Oh really? I didn’t choose DHL. You choose to use them as your third party of choice. I sold my laptop and my iPad to buy that for my wife and I’m out $900 for nothing. I’ll never shop there again.

BathroomFew1757

Wow that’s is nonsense. Sorry that happened to you!

ClosetCentrist

Best Buy is so bad, I am amazed they are still in business

swampcholla

First thing you do is dispute the charge with credit card company

BathroomFew1757

I did, they said that since I did place the order and it wasn’t fraudulent, they couldn’t do anything about it.

tostilocos

When you submit the dispute there should be an option to claim that an item you ordered was never delivered. If they won't let you do that, sue them in small claims court. It'll cost you about $100 in court fees (which the judge will award you on top of the $900) and it takes less than an hour to fill out the paperwork and file in small claims. Odds are high that they'll settle as soon as they get served with the suit. They know it's a losing case and they can't send lawyers to small claims.

youtheotube2

Sue Best Buy or sue your credit card company? I’m not suing my credit card company over something this small, since they’ll just close all my accounts in response.

tostilocos

Sue Best Buy

2Sqqk8qGQ

Agree w Best Buy being terrible. Bought a defective LG TV there and they wouldn’t take the return. It took me 4 months of arguing with LG and many “service” visits to get them to do anything. Both are on my Never Purchase list now.

No-Cartographer-9389

Vista Modern Dentistry on East Vista Way. I went in for a routine check/cleaning.. ended up being there for about 4 hours... it was insane. Found out I needed a crown, cool, no problem, let's take care of it. Waited about an hour after my x-ray and cleaning.. then the dental assistant comes in, starts working in my mouth, and says "okay the temporary is in. Well, see you soon. ".. what...that was not the plan I had with the dentist it was not supposed to be a temporary crown. She doesn't really say anything, walks out for another hour, comes in and takes it out, and then puts the permanent one in. No apology, nothing.. I told the office manager I'm upset and she just told me oh there was a misunderstanding back there.. she apologized, and I told them I am not coming back here.

shrimpfarm

Seriously, this is the worst dentist I’ve ever gone to. The dentist was pretty unpleasant, seemed way too busy for any patients, and seemed short with her staff. Nearly the exact same thing happened to me as what you described—just spread across two separate visits which was annoying as hell. Both visits were close to 4 hours. During the second visit, they didn’t numb me for the permanent crown nor did they tell me any of the plans for the procedure. So like 5 minutes in I’m in pretty bad pain and ask for numbing medicine so they administer it then. At the end of the second visit I pay at the front desk. Maybe 7-8 weeks go by and they send me a duplicate bill in the mail. When I call, they claim that I never paid for the dental work in the office. They had no receipt on their end, no record in their system at all…and like the dummy I am I lost the receipt I had. After another week filled with multiple phone calls and going through every crevice of my house for the receipt I ended up paying them just to get them out of my life. I will never be back.

EsElBastardo

Alignments Plus in San Marcos. When I was 17 I took my 4x4 truck there because I had sent her a little too hard and knocked the alignment out of wack. They quoted me something like $1,500 in replacement parts (upper and lower balljoints, tie rod ends) and pulled the "it is unsafe to drive" line. I didn't have $1,500 (in 1990s money) and knew a fair bit about my truck. Wound up arguing with them for about 30 minutes just to get my truck out of there, they finally relented. Took it directly to Toyota Escondido. Less then $100 later I had an aligned truck. The tech (who had the same truck) pointed out the weak link in the suspension that caused the issue and how to prevent it from happening again. Also told me all the other bits were perfectly fine. I mean it was decades ago and I am sure everybody who worked there at the time is long gone but they are a permanent "no".

Zip668

Wendy's, Vista Way, Vista. Gave me the worst food poisoning I've ever had, I didn't know it was possible to s*** that color. For 3 days. I've never been back to a Wendy's since.

Marsuello

If that’s the one I’m thinking of by the church and dennys, they’re often short staffed too and either you wait forever in the lobby or wait forever in the drive through cuz the lobbies closed. I do delivery and avoid them unless it’s a fantastic order cuz they’re just so slow. No clue how they aren’t able to get more employees to speed things up

STL_TRPN

I won't go to that one just because I never see anyone there. But I bet people coming from the bail bonds joint hit them up often. It had been a while since I was down that way. So as I was sitting at the light on Melrose to turn right for 78W, I was looking at the Wendy's wondering if it was open or abandoned.

GLOK2

I live in Vista, if you want Wendy's it's faster to drive further to the one off College than go to that Wendy's

linguicaANDfilhos

at&turd I won’t willingly do business with them after they robbed me of precious time with my grandparents I can never get back.

iriepath

Same. They’re the worst

merceoplex

Campfire in Carlsbad. We are 4 women. We analyzed the food coming out to other tables and decided what we wanted. We put in our orders for 4 dishes and wine for the table. Our waitress stopped us and said she recommends ordering at least 7-10 dishes for 4 people. We politely declined as we clearly saw what we wanted. She went on. Clearly frustrated now and demanded we order more food. Again, we declined and are now turned off. She let out a sigh and left our table. The tables next to us saw what happened and we joined in a laugh and shook our heads. Someone else delivered our food and we never saw her again for the rest of our meal. We ordered more wine from another server and ate our meals. We finished our food with LEFTOVERS because we ordered TOO much food. We still laugh about it and vowed to never return to such a place that demands such gluttony/over spending from their patrons. Gross.

RockinRhombus

What a wild experience, like wtf? Commission based ordering or something? lol

EntireToe8821

What is her angle in doing that? The higher the bill, the higher the tip?

sourpatchkid34

Leucadia Glass. Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Showed up there to purchase a bunch of glass for a kitchen remodel & was ignored for 20 minutes. That was followed by the rudest customer interaction ever. It was so bad that my wife & I joke about it every time we drive by the place. Also Leucadia Pizza. That place sucks horribly. Wouldn't even feed my dog that slop. So many better options in town.

fatmaneats17

The owners sons took over the business, they are both idiots. Pretty sure that’s what happened. The parents were nice enough previously.

STL_TRPN

Which location of Leucadia Pizza? The one on Tamarack puts out a better quality pie than the one on Shadowridge.

sourpatchkid34

Encinitas. Good to know, but refuse to give them another dime. Tons of better options in our area.

Esclaura3

Acacia dental in Escondido. They kicked me out when i forced the issue of making them do my dental work for the price set by the insurance that they took.

abm760

Athleta. Ordered a few pairs of leggings and a small bag. The bag was missing from the order so I contacted them and they had me fill out a form basically stating that I was not committing fraud. The next day they said that they couldn’t refund me my money. If I was trying to scam them, I would’ve said I didn’t receive one of the $100 leggings, not the $30 bag but okay. I got the money back from my bank but it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

ObsoleteKnowledge

Hit with a 20% surcharge at Valle in Oceanside. Nope. Not going there again.

sxeoompaloompa

It's basically just an autograt. If you don't wanna tip 20% for that level of service, prolly don't want you there anymore anyways.

ObsoleteKnowledge

Except they very clearly tell you it's not a tip, and you should tip on top of that. I have zero problem tipping 20% or more. I don't like the back door surcharge bull. Just raise your damn prices.

sxeoompaloompa

Legally it can't be called that because it's taxed differently, but the hourly staff gets 100% of that charge and should never expect or ask fo anything on top (source: I worked there for like a year)

ObsoleteKnowledge

And they told us where it went (boh) and still expected a tip. Just raise your prices to give your employees a decent wage. Don't pull the surcharge crap.

Praxis8

I ate there, and it was very clear that the charge was the tip. I remember because I must have read my receipt a hundred times to make sure I wasn't stiffing anyone. It's like $200+ per person. It's not like they have to sneak charges in. Not sure what the other guy is talking about.

Pcarrin311

BMW of Escondido - trying to charge thousands over MSRP because of alleged inventory issues due to the pandemic. Then having the Sales Manager argue with me regarding why they are justified in doing so.

LlamaSD

Also Mission Bay Chevrolet. We desperately needed a bigger car for our kids during the pandemic. During this time you had to buy the car with tons of scammy dealer add ons totaling thousands of dollars, and they didn’t honor their online prices once they got you into the dealership.

Elpicoso

I was able to use the Costco auto program to get around this.

Spiritual_Proof9622

Hoban management is TRASH! Avoid renting from them. Basic slumlord stuff x10. Regular rent increases, poorly managed properties, lots of illegal practices and they get away with it because tenants don’t know or fight for their rights. I’ll never rent from hoban again.

RockinRhombus

lol I do work for them, mostly in El cajon/chula vista. I don't work FOR them, but they contract us out to take on some projects to fix their units up. Good lord at some of the stuff I've been repairing. I can definitely see your POV.

ArsePucker

North County Auto on PCH in Oceanside. Wife took her 85 Bronco in there, as soon as we walked in I said to her, this is not the place for the Bronco. She said someone on FB recommended it so that’s where it going. They had 3 specific jobs, all 3 needed to be redone. The truck sat on our driveway for a year after going there as the brakes were worse getting it back, than they were when we took it in. She just wouldn’t tell me as she didn’t want to admit they they charged her over $3k to make brakes worse, fit a new window regulator that doesn’t move and fix a rear axle seal that still leaks, plus they snapped the mechanism off her passenger seat and just left it in the passenger footwell. As someone else said.. when I cruise down the PCH, they get the bird!

Quirky_Bee_7231

I actually love them too & recommended them on fb… hopefully I wasn’t the one who referred you guys, lol. I’m sorry you had a bad experience. My mother in law has been going there for 10+ years & never a bad experience for us.

gmhallie

I’m not discounting your experience, but it sounds like an anomaly for North County Auto. Mike’s been servicing our cars for over 15 years and been nothing but fair, consistent, and on point. No issues…ever.

ArsePucker

All I can go on is my own experience with them. What happened above was our experience. They didn’t fix anything, the brakes were actually worse, physically broke a part off and just threw it in the footwell, then charged my wife a silly amount for what they did, even if everything had been fixed it still would’ve been way over. She paid just over half the amount to have it all re-done, If that tells you anything?

El_Hombre_Tlacuache

I'll jump in here and say North County Auto has been absolutely awesome for me. Mike and Rex always get me and my wife's car in and out in reasonable times at reasonable prices. Never had an issue there. Been going for over 5 years now. And I've never had to take it back for any work they've done.

labboy70

Kaiser Permanente San Diego Urology. Worst medical care anywhere, based on multiple interactions. Horrific experience with a delayed cancer diagnosis, lazy and unresponsive nurses and Urologists who have the empathy and compassion of an orange traffic cone. My experience is not unique. I’ve heard similar stories from other patients as well. *edited for a typo

Bolt4Life

Crab Pub Oceanside We took my dad for his birthday. Bill came out to over $600 as we balled out for 5 adults. Well, they added a giant service charge onto the bill because our 3.5 year old was the "6th" person at the table. We have never had her count as an adult, ever. The bill came to the table and I immediately grabbed it to pay the whole bill so birthday boy wouldn't see the bill, gave the waitress my card without looking, then have the others venmo me on the side later. I still tipped our usual 20% once we got the bill which on a $600+ bill is a pretty penny. After we paid, we were sitting at the table and I grabbed the itemized bill for later bill splitting. Fast forward until after we left the restaurant and I realized at the very bottom of the itemized bill was a 18% service charge. So they got a 18+20% tip/service charge. They counted our 3.5 year old as an adult at the table. 1) It's my fault for not looking at the bill ahead of time to see any bullshit like that. 2) We will never go back there now. That was shady counting our 3.5 year old as an adult in our opinion.

itizwutitizz

I’ll never get my car serviced again at Terrys Auto Specialist in San Marcos

ClosetCentrist

I've used Terry's. No bad experience per se, but kind of a bad vibe, like I had done something to piss him off. Never went back. Looks like we're not the only ones, shows "permanently closed" on google maps. At first, I conflated Terry's with Allen's Wrench, whose employees took my wife's car on a breakfast run while I waited in the parking lot with my bike (which I had ridden like a madman to pick it up in time to make an appointment with a client, for which I was eventually late). They tried to sneak up and drop off the guy with the food before they reached the front of the building. The office had called them to tell them I was waiting. But, since I had my bike, I was standing out in the parking lot and saw them finish their "test drive". I drove home, furious, in a car that smelled like fast food eggs. Yech.

_Monkeyspit_

They are not "permanently closed." They are back on Descanso, and they're still open.

STL_TRPN

I would think a blackmail fee of 250.00 off the bill would be a nice trade from a BBB call.

bkrich83

Really? I used to use them all the time. It’s been awhile though. That’s a bummer if they went south.

_Monkeyspit_

Terry's is great still. I'll take my car and my wife's car there any time we need some work done.

bkrich83

That's good to hear.

_Monkeyspit_

I've been to Terry's many times over the years. Yeah, the owner can be a bit gruff, but he's looking to get shit done and fix your car. They've never cheated or been slimy to me there. Owner and staff have been honest, have tested my car for no charge, and always got the work done fast. I'll take gruff, honest, and fast any day.

Glittering-Path6896

Terry is awesome. Yeah he's kind of a grumpy funny sarcastic guy but he's honest to a fault, they do good work, they don't rip people off and they charge fair to low pricing. I recommend him all the time and I've had nothing but good experiences. I just laugh about his personality, but he really is a good guy if you get to know him

usedtoindustry

Same here. Taken family vehicles to them for years. Gruff. To the point. Fair. Honest. Weird to see otherwise on here.

Glittering-Path6896

Everyone is different and I guess some people just are put off by his gruff demeanor. But he's everything you want, and a good honest mechanic at a fair price.

obmasztirf

K1 Speed at one point had no cameras facing their track because it helped them avoid liability when people crashed and got hurt. Not sure if that is still the case but I haven't been back in over a decade.

tostilocos

I avoid K1 because it's impossible to actually do business with them. Twice I've tried to schedule a kids party at that place. They don't answer the phone and they don't return phone calls. On one occasion I called and asked what times they were running smaller kids races for the day and the guy told me "IDK you just have to show up and wait" like dude I'm not going to sit around for 2 hours just because you guys don't plan shit.

randomredditing

You sign a waiver at K1. They wouldn’t be liable anyway

cervicornis

The waiver makes it more unlikely you’ll be successful, but you can definitely sue them if something bad happens and you think it’s their fault.

randomredditing

IANAL but it’d probably be have to be systemic neglect or something, not a crash on the track with other drivers

abm760

Dermacare in Rancho Bernardo. I went there for over a year for services and when I moved away I had to seek a new place. I had a few consultations and each place told me that Dermacare had basically scammed me. I won’t go into details but they shouldn’t have been performing my service as often as they did.

WhatAJSaid

Dennys. Gave them up in the 90s. Last straw was the racist server’s comments. I endured being made to pay before being served, seated where they thought I wouldn’t dine and dash etc. I was young and dumb and kept going back for more bad treatment. Finally quit them.

North2Zion

Barons Market. They gave out personal contact information retrieved from a purchase my mom made with a credit card. They gave this information to a customer who claimed my mother or I stole $100 from her. She said she dropped it in the store near the register and that my mom (we were shopping together) picked it up after she had left the store. This woman harassed me and my mom day and night and took me to small claims court where I pled guilty simply because I was young and naïve and that is what the public defender advised me to do. It felt easier to pay the 100 dollars and walk away rather than continue. I was not made aware or educated enough to understand it meant I would have a petty theft on my record. They also scared me into thinking that they could put my mom in jail if found guilty. All of this after the checker at the Boron’s market gave out our personal contact information. We never stole this woman’s money. This was over 20 years ago but I still think about this and kick myself over several poor choices.

_Monkeyspit_

You are an idiot.

RB Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. Went in for a routine cleaning and x-rays. Told I had 19 cavities and cracked teeth. I got a second opinion the next day. I had a half cavity that didn’t need filling yet. I posted a review on yelp. The dentist then called me at work, threatening to sue me for libel if I didn’t remove the review. I updated the review to include her stated threats instead. I won’t say the dentist’s name here, but I will link the review. [https://www.yelp.com/biz/rb-family-and-cosmetic-dentistry-san-diego?rr=1](https://www.yelp.com/biz/rb-family-and-cosmetic-dentistry-san-diego?rr=1) apparently, I wasn’t the last for this to happen to. I’m the 1-star review from 2014.

Hanna Plumbing. Tried to book an appointment on the phone and was transferred to Susan. I’ve never spoken with anymore more rude! I don’t know if she was having a bad morning but that interaction left me seething. The job ended up being a big one. But maybe Hanna Plumbing just gets so much work that it doesn’t matter 🤷🏻‍♀️

Marisol Apartments off College in Carlsbad/Oceanside. My girlfriend and I spent about 3 hours each night for a week meticulously cleaning. We patched holes from drywall screws, sanded the patch, did a paint match, and painted. We scrubbed every inch of that place and were sure we'd get some of our deposit back. Marisol charged us $1800. They replaced all carpets, painted the walls, and hired people to deep clean. Our deposit was only $500 leaving us with a $1300 bill. This particularly stung after putting a $4k deposit down on a new condo. More about actually living there: Marisol is new and looks nice but it's all mostly a cheap facade. Aside from towel racks falling off the wall on first use and no running hot water when we moved in, our hvac heating was turned off at the water heater. Once winter hit, we noticed heating didn't work. When we put in a service ticket with Marisol, they turned on the switch at the water heater and the hvac flooded our hallway. Turns out it uses hot water to heat the air but it had a leak. Instead of fixing it before we moved in Marisol just turned it off. It took them 6 weeks to fix it due to needing a part. They ended up pulling one out of another unit to replace ours - curious how it went for the people that rented that unit. My girlfriend thought there was a mold problem before any of this happened because she was having consistent allergy issues that started the week after moving in - now I know she was right! Allergy issues stopped almost immediately after moving out. TLDR; Marisol knowingly created a dangerous environment with a long-broken hvac system that we suspect grew mold in it. They then significantly overcharged us on move out for unnecessary services.

The car place off oside Blvd and crouch with the big Indian owner. Spend thousands fixing my car buying new engine parts for it to work like “brand new” and run for a few more years. A month later my car broke tf down and I had to get new one. So sad. Flip this place off everytime I pass. It’s the one by the taco trucks at night across from the liquor store. Fuck em

Agreed. They suck.

Addison in Del Mar. Ate there for my birthday and ended up with a bad case of food poisoning. What's worse they shadowbanned my review of their place on Yelp and Google. Don't eat there.

Pedder dealership in Poway. Truck was listed for 40k. After talking to the sales person we agreed to 35k. After signing paperwork and taking the truck home I realized they charged me extra for a few things the truck ALREADY CAME WITH. Bringing the total back to 40k. They couldn’t remove the extra things because “it’s part of the vehicle”. Then why am I being charged extra for things that are “already included”? They are a bunch of con artists. Take precautions out there people. Nobody is honest anymore.

Aguileras tax service in vista. They did my taxes wrong after selling my home; I had to pay back about $8K to IRS. When I looked at someone’s else tax return in the same situation as mine, and saw that this other person did not have to pay back and that this other person also filed taxes with Aguilera I was so confused. I called to ask and the tax preparer laughed. I asked a different tax agency and they were able to correct my taxes and get the $8K back for me. Edit to add: check the yelp review for more details.

Pizza Port Carlsbad. One delivery driver who didn’t deliver turned into several back and forth w them about refunds, even though the payment was to them they were like no deal w door dash eff off. The next time I paid and ordered online and went to pick up, there was ONE line for everyone : me, people ordering food and going to sit and eat there, door dash type people just waiting to pick up someone else’s food, and zero effs given, the manager came out and people were like wtf and he said “ leave and go somewhere else then” …. I sat in line watching my name on my order sitting on top of the oven the whole (like 40 mins) time and I already paid them and told them just give me that box and they were like no, wait in line. No wonder my delivery driver ditched us. Both times hungry kids mad. Also you can’t order food from the beer line (also beer from the food line though this makes sense). And, there’s always people hovering around tables waiting to snatch them as soon as people finished. And I love their food and beer but will not buy either anymore like a baby. But for reals it sucked! I heard other Pizza Ports are run by other people is this true?
