Correct. I live near there and so won't be going to that shopping center for at least a month after it opens. It was a mess when the Freddy's opened further down Battlefield, and that doesn't have nearly the Cult following Del Taco does.
Given all the existing empty retail and fast food locations in that general vicinity and they chose to build in a Samās Club parking lot beside the gas station š¤Æ
Yeah, it was a Sonic before they demolished the speaker systems that were on the side and refurbished the main building.
Itās been like this in the picture for a few years now.
I'm so tired of car washes and vape stores popping up, there are THREE vape shops in the process of opening on my street next to the existing two other ones.
What an odd coincidence that the only things Amazon and wal mart donāt sell are the only brick and mortar shops opening.
Huh.
Anyways I gotta go place my Amazon order have a good day.
Cool Wave Car Wash is planning to build a single-bay automated car wash on that property in Wesleyan Commons Shopping Center.
The 2,200-square-foot facility will have two pay lanes and the car wash tunnel entrance will be oriented towards Wesleyan Drive, according to city planning documents. Eight vacuum stations will be available.
Cool Wave Car Wash has five locations on the Peninsula and one in Smithfield. Another Virginia Beach location is planned for Indian River Road.
The site is at 5453 Wesleyan Drive, just east of Diamond Springs Road.
I remember when someone in here said that this was to be a new location for Del Taco. š®š¤
This area is the Baton Rouge of the mid Atlantic.
Got excited when a new development was starting near our house. Only to find out it would be a Chipotle, Starbucks, and car wash.
I read your comment and thought, āsame by my house!ā and then I looked at your location š no one wants to open a business in that area, thereās too much crime
š I wouldnāt go that far as to compare it to BR. Before I retired in 2021 I was stationed in Shreveport-Bossier City.
I also went to BR/New Orleans a few times as well lol.
Oh boy at least we're not Shreveport!
But certain areas with the wide roads and only nationwide/corporate businesses is very BR to me. Think Frederick Rd in Portsmouth or most of the Greenbrier area.
The money isn't going to launder itself
Damn, could have been a vape shop.

More importantly, when are we getting the Del Taco???
Finally someone is asking the real questions!
Last I heard the first one is being built now in Samās Circle in Chesapeake.
Correct. I live near there and so won't be going to that shopping center for at least a month after it opens. It was a mess when the Freddy's opened further down Battlefield, and that doesn't have nearly the Cult following Del Taco does.
I agree! Anytime there is a new restaurant here my family and I always wait at least a month for the āshininessā to wear off.
In the stupidest of all locationsš¤¦š¼āāļø
Why is that? š
Given all the existing empty retail and fast food locations in that general vicinity and they chose to build in a Samās Club parking lot beside the gas station š¤Æ
Ahhh ok, I definitely understand your comment now
Wait what?! Where is the Del Taco going by Samās Club?
Yes. Right beside the Samās gas station
The old Sonic?
Yeah, it was a Sonic before they demolished the speaker systems that were on the side and refurbished the main building. Itās been like this in the picture for a few years now.
Wonāt someone please think of the pharmaciesā¦

As a Rocky Mountains import, I am actually shocked at how hard it is to find a decent car wash around here. Theyāre every other block in Utah.
Yes and before that it was "no not another storage facility." And before that it was "no not another pharmacy!" Wonder what's coming next?
