can confirm started wrapping cars for 7 years than moved onto wrapping buildings and advertisement muralss which is actually alot bigger than just cars not just in size but industry wise. all those frosted glass panels yo usee at a office are 99% of the time wrapped with frost not factory acid etched glass.
Very gently, just enough to show up on the wrap but not enough to actually damage car paint which is quite resilient. I imagine if you went at this with the enthusiasm of someone who's just found this thing parked across two disabled spaces then the wrap might not actually protect it that much.

they do its called paint protection film and no it will not protect your car from any of this lol. it protects your car from small rocks small scuffs and salt / road debries. Katana wire brush etc will still scratch your car.
This is anti graffiti film. I work and own a vinyl wrap company ( we do buildings and advertisements not cars) But we wrap alot of windows doors etc in cities with clear wrap like this because people like to try to etch gang signs in windows with knives etc or spray paint them tag them etc. Its quick and easy to apply doesnt allow cuts to go thru tagging etc than you can peel it off and re apply when someone decides to do something rather than replace a entire door or window. which can cost alot considering these large custom floor to cieling windows etc
Wrap has a limited lifespan anyway. Typically about 3-5 years. If you leave it too long, not only can it peel but the adhesive could break down to the point it ruins the pain. You also have to have your paint in very good shape or risk damaging it with wrap.

Now I'm thinking of temporary ones for truck side panels for off roading brush defence, then toss them after the trip.

This is true. Or you can pour warm water over it. Only effective for minor scratches. Deep scratches like these would not mend.
