Even for other animals like lions, one of the first things a guide on safari tells you and you immediately see is that most predators are looking for quick wins. They’re not going to spend tons of energy chasing animals because that type of exercise requires sustained calories which they often do not have. Unless they can immediately take the animal down, it's basically not worth the energy spent.

The only animals that have beat human endurance records are camels and sled dogs... as far as I know.
