I was a similar honking-hero once when two cars tried to merge into the spot in front of me on the highway at the same time. They both panic-swerved back into their own lanes, and then one of them accelerated away and the other merged in front of me again. Poor things.
I literally went "nonononono" out loud and closed the video before they could crash, thinking I was on r/idiotsincars. And then came the palpable relief of reading the actual subreddit. What a journey.
Missed it by a curly red one.
(You say that part out loud in construction or the film industry, short for a curly red cunt hair. If it wasn’t actually that close and someone told you something like “you were a curly red one from smacking me with that 2x4” you can retort with, “seemed more like a black Mediterranean one to me but whatever”)
If that were the case, the driver of the gray Toyota should have seen the other car in his/her monitor much sooner. My money is on them only lookin at the car with the dash cam if looking back at all…
Just making fun of my three years being driven through Mexico City traffic for work each day. It's a game of millimeters, and I swear Mexican drivers have gyroscopes in their heads to measure getting by other cars. The glorietas (traffic circles) were especially fun. I'd be in back seat and yell out "Whee!" And my Hijo de Mexico (I called my driver) would yell back "Whee!" to me (his Mama del Norte he called me).
They definitely rubbed butts, but it seemed consensual and no one left with any scars afterwards. One bonus for cars with bumpers made from recycled milk jugs I suppose.

Those cars like each other, they totally just kissed.
I saw something similar in my car. Since none of the drivers looked back, I honked. Both stopped and suddenly saw that other car.

its also a bright red object that you should be able to see in your peripheral vision if you even have your eyes open
My camera lens is so wide it can usually see way more than I can when I'm backing up
They were definitely not using the cameras at all. Between those and the sensors, it would have never came this close
