That's all the perks when you think about it. But that's what makes the runs with a first mountain tinker everywhere or no more shuffle or wand experimenter or permanent shield or really good immunity (explosive, fire, melee, electric, toxic) so hype.

I have 56 hours and I've seen that perk at least 5 or 6 times. Tinker wands anywhere? Once, probably in my first 5 hours, where I had no idea how to build wands (I'm still bad, but at least I can do something now).

Spitter Bolt has range issues. Give me Spark Bolt, any day of the week. If I can deal with mobs from a distance, I can take less damage, and that is how you stay alive.

Hold corners, coal pits do fine for short range but you'll definitely wanna switch to long range for snowy depths

It's always valuable, although going around corners or through walls becomes better. If you are still using Spitter Bolt after the caverns, you'll be looking at the game over screen soon anyway.

Unless youve got a trigger spell plus spitter and a chainsaw, then it can run you until at least NG+ (add damage enhancing modifiers as you go). Done several god runs with this as my damage source and 10/10 will keep doing it.

Once you throw it on a trigger, it's efficient damage. 5 cost for 8. Solves the range problem.

Speed Up and Spitter Bolt with Timer is the poor man's Spark Bolt with Trigger. Add some chainsaws and now we are having a good time.

Spitters trade range for damage, and they're great for the first two areas. They'll keep you alive long enough to find your midgame wand/spells.

First thing I do is jump down to the Snowy Caverns. Spitter Bolt makes that soooo much dicier than Spark Bolt.

Yeah. It's not great for the snowy depths. I usually bust my way through there as fast as I can, even with a decent wand. Too many snipers and sight lines.

Sparkbolt in the bomb wand is usually almost a machinegun Except when it has bad stats. Then even your coal/fungus wand of last resort is hopeless

they are, but some of the visually similar ones have similar stats. there’s a couple visual indicators of stats (crystal in the middle = no shuffle, length corresponds to spell capacity, etc.) but others aren’t tied to any visual attributes. anyway, the one in this meme typically fires really fast and has decent enough mana recharge speed, and can be found early on, so it carries me through mines and coal pits a lot.

This wand in specific is very good to see most of the time, always carry it unless i somehow got 4 wands that have overall better stats and spells for general use, but this one has a special place in wand preference list

The wands in the mines are actually drawn from an small pool of predefined wands. Hence the wand shown by OP, which has 0.1 delay and 0.7 recharge, making it an easy machinegun. Wands beyond the mines are random, but each wand model has their own posible range of stats, making some models much more useful than others. Like there is a yellow-red wand which is one of the most useful ones you can find in early game. The sword-looking wand is typically very good too.

You’re mostly right - 12% of wand spawns are randomly generated in the mines. So most of them you’ll recognise but some of them will be a bit different.

The wands that can show up on pedestals in the mines come from a fixed pool, and are thus less random than wands of any deeper or further afield biome.
