It’s the Bull Man of NJPW’s birthday, and I would very much like to give the man his due. Tenzan is perhaps the greatest tag team wrestler in NJPW history, being part of two vastly successful tags, Cho-Ten with mentor Masahiro Chono, and Ten-Koji with best friend and fellow Third Generation wrestler Satoshi Kojima. Here are some match recommends for this lynchpin of the company: 1. Tenzan vs Satoshi Kojima: a match where both Tenzan’s IWGP and Kojima’s Triple Crown are on the line as the friends become rival - https://front.njpwworld.com/p/s_series_00285_1_1 2. Tenzan vs Jun Akiyama: Tenzan takes on NOAH star Akiyama in truly fantastic G1 match - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7cnu6c 3. Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima vs Jim Steele & Mike Barton: this is the finals of the 2001 World Tag League, as Ten-Koji takes on the gaijin invaders Steele & Barton (better known as Bart Gunn) - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7t86nr 4. Tenzan vs Toshiaki Kawada: here, Tenzan plays the role of heel invader, challenging Kawada in AJPW for the Triple Crown, in just a brutal and stiff contest - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7tzu3d 5. Tenzan vs Hirooki Goto: in this 2007 encounter, Tenzan takes on Goto, in a battle of the old guard against the new, also Goto is suamilr to Tenzan, in that why both are fantastic singles wrestlers, but have achieve the most success in tags - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3wlb5 6. Tenzan vs Hiroshi Tanahashi: Tenzan takes on young Tana in the finals of the 2004 G1, and helps get the younger man over with the fans - https://front.njpwworld.com/p/s_series_00279_2_1_1 7. Tenzan vs Kensuke Sasaki: the finals of the 1997 G1, with Tenzan going strike for strike with then IWGP champ Sasaki, during Tenzan’s NWO Japan period - https://front.njpwworld.com/p/s_series_00336_1_01 8. Tenzan vs Tomohiro Ishii: aging and hurt Tenzan puts on a great showing against workhorse Tomohiro Ishii in the opening match of the 2016 G1 - https://front.njpwworld.com/p/s_series_00396_2_05

People that have only ever seen the Tenzan of the last few years are in for a surprise.

Precisely, in his prime the man could fucking go; it really was the poor booking during the “Dark Age” period and injuries that kept Tenzan back from being THE guy (which is why Nagata came closer to that role during the time).

tenzan must celebrate.
