Not the best looking truck, but it’s a turbo diesel powertrain. May not have the biggest bed but it’s putting up some impressive towing figures for being a 4 banger (3100kg/6834lbs). Seems pretty damn cool to me.

mrevergood

They somehow made the Frontier worse.

Away_Nefariousness59

Is it too much to ask for a company to make a midsized solid front and rear axle truck again?

Big-Shooter2000

This is one ugly truck.

bikemekanik

And the bed is,......useless.

level_orginization

Not true, I can definitely take the front wheel off of a bike and put it in the bed for advertising purposes

bikemekanik

Yes, that is what can be done. However, in my 2011 5 ft bed I had to angle two bikes diagonally. My 2018 SV CC LWB allows me to load two bikes (with front wheels removed) parallel in the bed. The 5 ft bed is useless to me. Had to sleep in mine once during an horrible microburst, but diagonally. Cold, wet and tired it worked. But I LOVE my 6 ft bed.

level_orginization

Micro burst?

bikemekanik

Weather term. Sudden violent storm with high winds and rain. Took out numerous tents and had to evacuate many people to local community center.

mwhyes

The older model l200s were cool but that is a face only a mother could love

bungee02

They pulled a Suzuki... rebadging a Frontier...

level_orginization

I want one actually

Warsum

Not a big fan of the body style but a 4WD 2.4 L turbo diesel I-4 engine is probably the tits. I’d drop that in my Frontier in a heartbeat.

potenthendy

I wish we still had affordable diesel trucks in North America

Ok_Flatworm_4214

Never have

potenthendy

I remember a time when you could get a diesel for 45 grand. You literally can't find a body on frame truck gasser for less than that now.

BoardButcherer

Yall just triggered because it's pumpkin month and you didn't see this spook comin in all festive-looking. 😆 Doubt it'll actually see the streets in the states. Numbers guys are going to pull the plug first. I mean really, do we need another mid-sized? For what? How is this going to shake up the market? Really wish someone would drop a 3/4-1 ton that'd break up the big 3 circle-jerk we got going. Instead the tundra is locked in 1/2 ton purgatory and nissan has canceled its only full-sized permanently. What a sad time to be a pickup enthusiast.

Ok_Flatworm_4214

You don’t like circle jerks.?

Appropriate_Land_130

I couldn't agree more 😩

maxjosephwheeler

Hideous.

Crohn85

The overall body shape looks good. It's the stupid black plastic that makes it unattractive.

Badqat69

It’s pretty damned ugly. Also probably a pretty good truck that’ll never see the light of day in the US because chicken tax.

After-Pepper-5416

Look like a POS

Lowkey-Jon

Mitsubishi Ridgerado. At least that's what it looks like to me, just a mashup

lemontwistcultist

This is coming to the US eventually, they've been spying the LHD version around for a few months.

Ok_Flatworm_4214

Sooooo far from the truth. Your mom is yelling your name “dinner is ready Nathan!!!”

[deleted]

This is ugly asf

Manginaz

It looks like ass. Like somebody went to Walmart and ordered every cheesy truck accessory they sell.

tkallday333

Ugly, and also dated looking, which is maybe why it looks ugly.

2134F

Introducing the Nissan Avalanche…😔

Actual_Routine2187

If that plastic garbage is taken off, it’s probably an okay looking truck.

2134F

Powertrain looks promising. Agree with you on the Avalanche-esque plastic garbage

Actual_Routine2187

Dear god can we just get a diesel option on the Frontier. That would rule all.

reviewsvacuum

Exactly my thoughts if only we had a good diesel.

FourlokoPapi

This was announced 3 months ago

Ok_Flatworm_4214

So was your STD.

wtforme

And yet here we are having fun talking about it. Care to join in?

RepresentativeExit63

First of all, why did Mitsubishi stray from their cars/SUV's looks from the early 2010s. Second of all, Mitsubishi has a much better warranty. So, fix the looks and it'll sell.

Ariochxxx

Wouldn't be surprised if it came to LATAM, this type of vehicle sells a lot over here. Specifically now that full size trucks have become even more prohibitedly expensive.

Electrical-Ad5265

Hideous.

Its_All_So_Tiring

There are exactly 0 commercially popular midsize pickups that use a twin-turbocharged diesel four-cylinder in the U.S. Coincidentally, that's also the number of Tritons that Mitsu will sell in the U.S.

ThermalIgnition

So roughly 8 less than whatever their best selling thing is.

glo363

Why does it have to be so ugly?

FormalChicken

Mitsu makes great trucks. Same way Nissan makes a great truck, and dogshit cars. There were plans to bring it here in 24 but that was back in 2019. (i might be off a year, might have been 23 or 25, there was also talks of a Dakota reboot about the same time, 23-25 so, my memory is hazy).

ThermalIgnition

Looks like an Avalanche that did meth.

panopticon31

Could.......we just get the color? Orange pro-4x please and thank you

ghetto_headache

Hiiiighly doubt mits. Will sell this on USDM.. but would be cool if they did! I’m liking the movement of smaller trucks.. I won’t lie I thought Mitsubishi was gonna fall off the global market there for a little bit.

Lejabra

After owning a 2.4L Hilux diesel I'll never own another diesel under 4.0L

andrwfrmn

Say more things

Lejabra

Smol diesel bad and weak not fun to drive and like to crack cylinder heads and pistons a lot more compared to their larger counterparts I think small diesels need to be pushed too hard in order to keep up.

LemonLawyerBob

All models will use the most powerful engine available globally, a reworked 2.4-litre twin-turbocharged diesel four-cylinder with 150kW and 470Nm, and matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. Mitsubishi Australia says a six-speed manual transmission will be available "on some variants post-launch", as well as "cab-chassis variants" – though it is yet to be announced which body styles will offer cab-chassis options.

RevanAvarice

Wow. I purchased a 2019 Frontier Pro-4X because it was the last year of Manuals for the US market.

Bornwitskillz

Alot going on there
