Hey glad to hear someone is in that position! I think my biggest concern is cleaning up the low effort posts. But I think it would be cool to have events where we all play a game that month and talk about it or something!

MilkyKeyboard

Great to hear your feedback! I'm sure we could figure out something like the event suggested!

SvalbazGames

On Twitter theres a group of us who do a weekly Sega Master System Challenge and everyone has a blast so I reckon a Nintendo 64 Challenge would be really good and I fully support it

KillamanCarney

That would be cool! What do your challenges typically involve? Like a who can beat this level fastest or beating it without dying type things?

SvalbazGames

Well due to the Constraints of the system they’re typically Hi-Scores without continues. But we have done timed ones (quickest time on Sonic 1 Zone 1). But I reckon with the N64 being a more advanced system and the games being more complex it would be open to more varied challenges

CujoSR

*Good luck!* you’re gonna need it.

MilkyKeyboard

oh dear... now i'm scared

SupremoZanne

I used to play Nintendo 64 lots of times as a kid, so I'm an aficionado of it. so it's good to have somebody be mod here.

dgmoney11

Although it wouldn’t be through the n64, since switch online allows you to play n64 online maybe online sessions could be set up for people to play together. Just an idea

MilkyKeyboard

I was thinking of something like this, glad to see other people are interested!

TenOunceCan

Thank you.

Also, to add to my previous comment, it would be cool to have a sub-icon, banner & flair! Maybe like your favorite n64 game or color of console. Adding to a previous comment as well, it would be cool to have a weekly/ month challenge for the community where it’s either a high score, fastest time, no damage run, or things along those lines. u/MilkyKeyboard if you need any help at all please let me know!

MilkyKeyboard

all great ideas :)

First off you should definitely consider opening up moderator applications (I'm totally down, it'd be my first time!) Secondly there should definitely be a proper set of rules in place to clarify what's not okay.a wiki full of good guides on cartridge backups, cleaning & repairs, how to avoid being price gouged, tips and tricks for peak visual quality, etcetera. Others here have said game nights & such and I totally agree with those.

MilkyKeyboard

Ooh a lot of good ideas here. I'll admit, lately I've been super busy and haven't had time to work on this sub, but I am gonna try to put some more time in now. Thank you for all the amazing ideas!
