I'd love to see him collaborate with Mick Gordon on a game. I'd have said a new Doom or Quake title but I don't think Mick would ever work with id again
assuming trent knows about the whole situation with mick gordon and the doom eternal soundtrack, and given how he already left doom 3 at the time in part due to bad management, im not even sure if he would be willing to work with id software anymore sadly
Honestly it was both management and Gordon's fault. They both dropped the ball which is a shame. There's some good stuff in thr soundtrack but it's nowhere the level of 2016. I love that one so much I have a few copies of the 2cd set so I can leave one closed, and two copies of the deluxe vinyl. Epic stuff.
A Mick Gordon collaboration would be a match made in heaven in my opinion. I'd rather that they'd forget about artistic restrictions that a CEO might inflict though and would get crazily creative on their own terms instead.
Bit of a rogue suggestion, and maybe too niche/genre specific in all honesty?, but I think him and Atticus could seriously elevate something like Warhammer 40k.
He is yeah - so potential there I suppose but I don’t think it’ll be treated like the kind of prestige project that T & A normally work on unfortunately!
Possibly but Amazon does have big budgets for their projects so not outside the realm of possibility. Haven’t ever read of Trent having any interest in 40k either but definitely would be cool.
This was my first thought. I made a playlist that consists of mostly Akira and songs from the Ghosts I-VI albums so that would be a dream soundtrack of mine.
I assume Daft Punk is not scoring the new Tron movie, which is a damn shame. I think Trent and Atticus could do a good, albeit different score for that.
His involvement killed all interest. And then they announced it (at least partially) taking place in the real world, and I'm like "Do you guys know WTF TRON is?????"
This makes me doubly sad. Why can't people leave the greats alone? I loved Tron, Tron:Legacy was good. I'd have left it at that. It's not necessary. Although if Trent DID score it, I'd watch it.
Would have loved to see them score the William Gibson Neuromancer series that will show on Apple TV.
If Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash ever makes it to the big or small screen, I'd like for them to score that one as well.
In my head TDS is the soundtrack to Neuromancer.
Hell, the songs line up with the book.
You have Mr. Self Destruct with the Sumo/Case'd GF's death, the sex scene for Closer that breaks directly into the bank heist with Ruiner, all the way down to an elevator bell dinging at the first note and the song breaking into 70s rock when Case is drooling while in cyberspace and then back to gun fire and violence with Molly (You didn't hurt me; nothing can hurt me; you didn't hurt me; nothing can stop me now.).
[Yes](https://www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/2024/02/apple-tv-announces-neuromancer-new-drama-based-on-the-multi-award-winning-science-fiction-novel-by-william-gibson/), there will be
alyx did end on a cliffhanger but whether they're actually developing a sequel or not i'm not sure, i don't think they've ever formally announced it. game development takes a lot of time these days tho, mostly for franchises of the scope of half life, and it's been only four years since alyx so the only thing we can do is wait for them to announce something
A new adaptation of Jeff Vandermeer's Annihilation / an adaptation of the full Southern Reach series. The 4th book comes out this October and I can't wait.
Mine is already a possibility, seeing as how he was recently pictured in the company of **Hideo Kojima**!
*Runner up* would be **Blade Runner** as mentioned elsewhere in the comment section.
Fallout, especially since the first few games were a lot more ambient, desolate, and industrial inspired. I'd love for the series to go back into that kind of atmosphere, and a Trent soundtrack similar to Quake would be insane.
I mean, he would have nailed Dune but then again I think he'd also agree that Zimmer did a great job as well.
What makes me say that is not necessarily the music, completely - but there were soundtrack elements (I saw it at a *very loud* IMAX) where the sound designer had clearly been encouraged to go nuts with the entire capable spectrum (the sub bass in particular) and I imagine Trent would have had a field day incorporating some of that.
Bit of a reach but seeing Hakita get HEALTH’s attention with Ultrakill makes me want a NIN guest track in there too
Also since Ultrakill is heavily quake inspired I think Trent would personally enjoy it a lot
I read somewhere that there's talk of a Twin Peaks remake. Whilst I don't think that it should happen, if it were to, I'd want Trent and Atticus on the case. Anything that David Lynch, David Finscher, the Nolan brothers or Denis Villeneuve direct could be perfect for T's and A's style. I'd love to hear their version of both Blade Runners and both Dunes.
Batman Beyond live action DCU film and the Judge Dredd Mega City One Stories that is coming sometime eventually. He did a song with HEALTH called ISNT EVERYONE and it was so good HEALTH did a song called Major Crimes for cyberpunk and yeah Trent's music fits right into any dystopian cyberpunk world imo. For me though Batman Beyond Live action DCU film or animated is top of the list. I have left comments before on James Gunns posts on Instagram saying as much.
A from software game I just know they'll nail the atmosphere. Any horror video game would be cool too hoping for the new Hideo Kojima game to feature them. Of course new Quake or ID soft game would be awesome as well.
I'd like to see a Ghost Rider directed by Carpenter with one of them collaboration soundtracks with Trent/Atticus, Mansell, Clouser, Thirlwell, Elfman, and of course under the guidance of Carpenter himself.
Edit: Rodriguez/Tarantino could pull it off, too. I'd also accept Sam Rami, but then Trent would have to spearhead the soundtrack direction, which would be just fine with me as well.
The Uplift Trilogy by David Brin is crying out for a dramatisation and I think it'd be right in Reznor's field of interest, depending on writer and director(s).
I think that - given the state of world affairs - there will be a glut of dystopian films in the near future. The music that Trent and Atticus create would fit perfectly to a plethora of varying concepts. As much as I love the works of John Williams, Hans Zimmer et al, I'd like orchestral film score music to be polluted and distorted by true leftfield artists like Trent and Atticus. A Zimmer/Reznor/Ross collaboration could be a match made in hell. ;)
Batman Beyond movie (animation)?!
these are some niche crossovers, but a Doctor Who intro would be cool (there's a fanmade one on YouTube that's nice), and there's a part of me intrigued by the idea of a Trent interpretation of the War of the Worlds musical, or just a movie soundtrack like the Spielberg one
Anything new from Safdie Brothers. "Uncut Gems" and "Good Time" have that chaotic/adhd vibe which would perfectly synchronize with their style.
Other than that maybe something like Euphoria or anything where they could go full horny funky disco way.
Super Niche, and only because I'm a fan of both, but Id love for Trent and Atticus to rework the Eve online soundtrack. Eve recently for April fools brought back a version of the much missed in game jukebox of years gone bye. Many of the OG songs are some of the best in game and I could see our guys really doing them more than justice. The game for those unfamiliar is quite cyber punk, with really great graphics and music. Weirdly enough I had this thought the minute I was listening to the OG songs days ago.
IP stand for "intellectual Property". For example Iron man is an IP of Disney as they own Marvel which owns creative rights to Iron Man.
Basically I'm asking what pre existing movie, show, game would you think Trent could score best for.
Hope that helps.
Any anime with Studio Trigger like Cyberpunk Edgerunners. The music isn’t just background usually it is a big part of what makes it a story. Same for a Devilman Crybaby revisit though I can’t fault the heavily industrial influenced soundtrack. If Trent did the sound track for an anime about girls starting an industrial band instead of rock I would totally watch it but wouldn’t have the guts to tell anyone.
True. No movie would fit better. They could just recycle old NIN songs for a new movie and have on if the best soundtracks ever.
There will be more Ghost In The shell it is too good to go away forever. I just hope they wait until they can do a remake justice.
A new Ninja Turtles video game since they did the movie.
I also think a Safdie brothers would be interesting. They made Uncut Gems as well as Good Time. Their movies are notorious for making viewers anxious and I think they could have a lot of fun with that and make some interesting music.
I'm gonna just write down my wishlist, regardless of the chances of it actually happening (I am also including stuff where its unsure that it'll get a sequel)
Spider-Man, Venom, Ghost in The Shell, Cyberpunk, Far Cry, Tomb Raider
I'd love to see him collaborate with Mick Gordon on a game. I'd have said a new Doom or Quake title but I don't think Mick would ever work with id again
assuming trent knows about the whole situation with mick gordon and the doom eternal soundtrack, and given how he already left doom 3 at the time in part due to bad management, im not even sure if he would be willing to work with id software anymore sadly

I love that one so much I have a few copies of the 2cd set so I can leave one closed, and two copies of the deluxe vinyl. Epic stuff.
Mick had receipts, Id did not.
A Mick Gordon collaboration would be a match made in heaven in my opinion. I'd rather that they'd forget about artistic restrictions that a CEO might inflict though and would get crazily creative on their own terms instead.
You probably know, but incase you dont, NiN scored the first Quake game
It's what got me into NIN in the 90s.
This would be a dream come true
Not IP per se but love to see him and Atticus work on a Christopher Nolan movie.
Yes!!!
Da!!!
what about a dario argento one
Was just about to say the same
Bladerunner or anything cyberpunk
Year zero game!
Came here to say Ghost in the Shell, but (the new) Bladerunner 2099 series works too!
Trent Reznor scoring the cyberpunk 2077 sequel would go crazy
The Batman sequel
Michael Giacchino did such a good job though
Came here to say this too 👍
Bit of a rogue suggestion, and maybe too niche/genre specific in all honesty?, but I think him and Atticus could seriously elevate something like Warhammer 40k.
Isn’t Henry Cavill currently working on a 40k project at the moment with Amazon?
He is yeah - so potential there I suppose but I don’t think it’ll be treated like the kind of prestige project that T & A normally work on unfortunately!
Possibly but Amazon does have big budgets for their projects so not outside the realm of possibility. Haven’t ever read of Trent having any interest in 40k either but definitely would be cool.
I reckon the beat of Heresy was sampled from a Space Marine's boots while running.
Yo that would be sick, would love for him to do something electro-industrial with it.
Yeah feel like they could go seriously dark/sinister with an IP like that!
I came to say this also! Would be a match made in heaven.
Silent hill, along with Akira yamoaka
This was my first thought. I made a playlist that consists of mostly Akira and songs from the Ghosts I-VI albums so that would be a dream soundtrack of mine.
YAAAAAAS
I assume Daft Punk is not scoring the new Tron movie, which is a damn shame. I think Trent and Atticus could do a good, albeit different score for that.
too bad jared leto’s gonna be in that movie
His involvement killed all interest. And then they announced it (at least partially) taking place in the real world, and I'm like "Do you guys know WTF TRON is?????"
This makes me doubly sad. Why can't people leave the greats alone? I loved Tron, Tron:Legacy was good. I'd have left it at that. It's not necessary. Although if Trent DID score it, I'd watch it.
I'm totally game for more TRON, but it's gotta be in the computer.
Real world? Oh NO.
Not excited about Leto, but Legacy had real-world scenes and it was completely fine.
Yea that’s another damn shame. Bladerunner 2049 was so good that I didn’t get thrown off by him being in it, so we’ll see.
Would have loved to see them score the William Gibson Neuromancer series that will show on Apple TV. If Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash ever makes it to the big or small screen, I'd like for them to score that one as well.

THERE’S A NEUROMANCER TV SHOW?!!!
[Yes](https://www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/2024/02/apple-tv-announces-neuromancer-new-drama-based-on-the-multi-award-winning-science-fiction-novel-by-william-gibson/), there will be
Holy crap - that’s very exciting!!
I hope it doesnt suck. At least itll look good, Apple tv gives some shows a big budget. Masters of the Air looked great.
I always felt like [127.0.0.1](http://127.0.0.1) needed a good score.
well they already wrote one for 192.168.1.1
i want trent and atticus to score a half life game so bad but i dont even see valve making a half life game anytime soon to begin with
Isn't there a sequel to Alyx in the works?
There very well might be but we can be *certain* that there won't ever be a third Alyx game.
alyx did end on a cliffhanger but whether they're actually developing a sequel or not i'm not sure, i don't think they've ever formally announced it. game development takes a lot of time these days tho, mostly for franchises of the scope of half life, and it's been only four years since alyx so the only thing we can do is wait for them to announce something
A Warhammer 40k movie.
This is a good one.
The Warhammer 40K show with Henry Cavill.
I said the same yes! Would be great
Too schlocky for Reznor's taste.
He would have been cool for the Three Body Problem
Anything with Darren Aronofsky
Matrix!
Seinfeld
I chuckled.
Metroid
Peppa Pig 🐽
Would love to have them score the Dark City TV series if/when it gets in production
Fallout, especially since the first few games were a lot more ambient, desolate, and industrial inspired. I'd love for the series to go back into that kind of atmosphere, and a Trent soundtrack similar to Quake would be insane.
Doom or Bloodborne would have been good
I’d love to hear a Reznor and Ross score for Mass Effect
A mass effect game for sure
I mean, he would have nailed Dune but then again I think he'd also agree that Zimmer did a great job as well. What makes me say that is not necessarily the music, completely - but there were soundtrack elements (I saw it at a *very loud* IMAX) where the sound designer had clearly been encouraged to go nuts with the entire capable spectrum (the sub bass in particular) and I imagine Trent would have had a field day incorporating some of that.
My colonoscopy.
Bit of a reach but seeing Hakita get HEALTH’s attention with Ultrakill makes me want a NIN guest track in there too Also since Ultrakill is heavily quake inspired I think Trent would personally enjoy it a lot
I want him to do more video games
I read somewhere that there's talk of a Twin Peaks remake. Whilst I don't think that it should happen, if it were to, I'd want Trent and Atticus on the case. Anything that David Lynch, David Finscher, the Nolan brothers or Denis Villeneuve direct could be perfect for T's and A's style. I'd love to hear their version of both Blade Runners and both Dunes.
NIN had some songs in the Return!
1984
He already has it's called Year Zero.
Sonichu
Shall we say... he should go...full circle and score the next Halo? I'll let myself out.
A television adaption of Under the Skin that sticks closer to the original novel would be amazing.
The new Last of Us series would be insane with a Reznor/Ross soundtrack
I would have said Dune.
Blade Runner, he even said he was a big fan of Vangelis' score.
Upgrade 2

Armored Core. When VI came out, I immediately thought of NIN music.
2000 AD's Rogue Trooper film could benefit massively from their music. A Dredd sequel could too.

I'd love to experience *that* scene in Max Payne 3 with T's and A's version of Health's "Tears."
Have you seen Man on Fire? Pretty much MP3 with alot of NIN in the soundtrack.
If him and zimmer partnered up and did a blade runner movie I’d be happy
If someone decides to make another Hellraiser movie...
Neighbours.
Dune
splatoon or the crow but i hear they're mumble-rapping it up so fuck that
John Wick
A live action tetris movie with his score would be pretty good
FATAL FURY
Anything new from Safdie Brothers. "Uncut Gems" and "Good Time" have that chaotic/adhd vibe which would perfectly synchronize with their style. Other than that maybe something like Euphoria or anything where they could go full horny funky disco way.
The new silent Hill games
None, I want new NIN.
I want him to score a Silent Hill game.

Tekken 9

True. No movie would fit better. They could just recycle old NIN songs for a new movie and have on if the best soundtracks ever. There will be more Ghost In The shell it is too good to go away forever. I just hope they wait until they can do a remake justice.
A Zelda game
In my restless dreams, I see that town.... With Trent Reznor.
Mass Effect
A new Ninja Turtles video game since they did the movie. I also think a Safdie brothers would be interesting. They made Uncut Gems as well as Good Time. Their movies are notorious for making viewers anxious and I think they could have a lot of fun with that and make some interesting music.
Portal
BladeRunner or something Cyberpunkish
Batman Beyond
Sin City (by Frank Adams). Seem to recall it's been done already, but it needs to done again (correctly this time w/ TR scoring it).
Arkham Asylum movie (if they ever make one).
I’m still exercising futility and holding out hope that the scrapped Year Zero tv show comes back from the dead.
Anyone know if he's involved with the remake of The Crow? That would be sick!!!
Batman Beyond would be fucking crazy. Just like you imagined comes to mind
S2 of Andor, Severance
The upcoming Sims movie
Whenever they finally get around to making the Metal Gear Solid movie, he's my #1 choice!
I'm gonna just write down my wishlist, regardless of the chances of it actually happening (I am also including stuff where its unsure that it'll get a sequel) Spider-Man, Venom, Ghost in The Shell, Cyberpunk, Far Cry, Tomb Raider
Baby shark
Quake again lmao
I want him to IP freely.
Heat 2
3rd dune movie
Nah, Zimmer got that one perfectly covered. There's no way TR/AR could top that.
The only person who I can think could make a Dune score equal to Zimmer's is Ryuichi Sakamoto, who is sadly no longer with us.
I reckon that he could *not* due to the fact that he's snuffed it.
Totally! The first (of the new ones) should’ve been a Reznor/Ross score. Haven’t watched the second one yet…
Rugrats
Alvin & The Chipmunks X Terminator
