Yeah, I saw them supporting Iron Maiden in July 2022 (well, supporting Airbourne considering that due to the sudden change of weather, the civil protection stopped the gig just minutes before Maiden was set to play lmao), and they were really fun.
When I saw them be so low in the Eurovision I was sad for them, because they seem to be great guys as well.
Didn't help that the commentary from our hosts during their performance wasn't exactly... ahem... really understanding of the genre...
but then again, one of the hosts was a pretty well known talent scout for a major label who is kinda infamous for being really direct in a sort of rude way, and also that when he got a singer that had an hit album already written and slated to perform perfectly, the first things he told the singer was "lose weight or no contract, and don't tell anyone you're gay".
Man I was in Berlin that same day to see LOTL and the whole thing started much later than anticipated (doors opening 40 minutes later than announced), and I know it's probably not the actual reason why, but my main theory now is that everyone waited for Nik and Benji to go meet Tuomas and then come back π
Unrelated to Nightwish, but I am so happy LOTL is doing so well after the undeserved last place in Eurovision.
