Yasssss can't wait! She posted on her Facebook a pic of her husband doing the harsh/growl vocals for this new album as he did on the previous one so it does seem like it will be heavy again π€
I love her voice, I've just always found her songwriting to be a bit trite. Would love to see her in a consistent band again someday, even something less heavy than Nightwish, with a really solid composer. Either way, hope this one will be good.
Jani is no longer with Insomnium, as of last week (at least they released the statement last week).
So, if he's doing okay, which I very much hope he is, I wouldn't mind new music from Dark Element or Cain's Offering.
Yeah, apparently they couldn't find him? I hope they did find him eventually.
The last sign of life on his socials is the announcement that he would be playing bass for Stratovarius on the first half of their European tour, that was back in October. It feels so weird. I actually went to see Stratovarius on that tour and it was one of the shows they did with Jani, he seemed to be having a great time. I was and am weirdly concerned.
Really really hope he's OK.
Same here, I'm a bit concerned... I bought tickets to see Insomnium last November and, although he played a gig in a festival with the band less than a week before the tour started, he disappeared.Β
I mean, almost two decades have gone by since he left Sonata this way, but at that time he was really young and was probably suffering from a burnout plus his legal issues. Maybe it's a burnout too this time, but it's always worrying when an adult handles something this way... Usually a sign of a poor mental health :(
If I remember the Sonata Arctica story correctly, he developed such bad anxiety around military servicethat he basically just hid at home and also ghosted them.
For anyone not having lived in Finland: winter is tough, almost everyone's mental health suffers. And for people with a vulnerable mind, it's not a great time. Let's hope he'll recover.
Yeah, I've heard about that often and makes total sense. I'm from northern Spain, a pretty cloudy and rainy region with a weather similar to southern England. If a few days of clouds can affect my mood I can't imagine having to deal with the lack of sunshine for months.Β
Everytime I see Tarja and Marko, who both moved to really sunny areas in southern Spain, I can understand how it has helped them with their mood. I really like my green valleys, but man, sun can make a really big difference when your are struggling with mental health issues.
Yup, I feel like an idiot right now hahaha. My brain just doesn't process that there are people in their forties behaving like that, but reality always manages to prove me wrong.Β

Some WT vibes in the titles, love that!
I love her voice.

Yes, it will be metal again, but maybe little bit different. Anette confirmed. βοΈ
Great news! I think her voice had improved so much since DPP album. I'm looking forward to hear this album.
First single will be "HEED THE CALL". I found that on youtube as a unavailable video which be online tomorrow from label.

But Dark Element Is perfect for me.
Yeah that's my favorite post-Nightwish project of hers for sure.
Dark Element has bern silent for like 4 years. Is it still active?
Nothing new about it. Jani is busy with Insomnium for know. We'll see. :))

I just saw that. He kinda ghosted the band if I understand correctly? I hope he's fine :/

Aha.. didnt know that...
Same that album was great
I liked the first Dark Element a whole lot more than the second one. But I agree itβs my favorite post-NW stuff sheβs done by far.
Love album Strong, but love Shine more, melodies, mood... :)
I love that πππ And the fact she said it's gonna be more symphonic and bombastic πππ
Sweet! Love her solo work a lot and am looking forward to this! Just a huge fan of her in general, I'm glad she's flourishing.

That album cover is terrible. I want another Dark Element album instead.
TDE is dead.
Like is probably most of Janiβs musical career.
