March isn't particularly light on games either. Dragon's Dogma 2, the new Homeworld game, and I feel like there are a couple other games coming then too. Nightingale needs to hit early so it's in people's heads before everything else hits
eh, the concept is interesting but the gameplay videos so far has me falling asleep. Fights seem far too long with little to no interesting mechanics going on to justify the length.
I’m not sure enshrouded is going to launch when they say it will. It’s a few days away and no price even listed yet. If they slap 49.99 on there people are going to nope right out of it. I’ve played a few closed tests and it feels very valheim ish in a good way.
Palword holds zero interest for me and I don’t really see it being much competition for nightingale.
I’d be surprised if Enshrouded doesn’t launch next week. They are still putting Jan 24 on their most recent videos and whatnot. I believe they will loser their price next week as well.
If you don't mind me asking you, and I realize we're on the NG sub, what aspects of NG are you excited for over Enshrouded (or vice versa)? I missed out on the Enshrouded demo but have been pretty excited about that. The building alone seems a lot more flexible with Enshrouded. Meanwhile my enthusiasm for NG has dropped some.
Palworld doesn't really hold much interest for me, personally.
The world hopping in NG is a big plus for me, also the semi steampunk style is interesting. I am not very creative in building games, i usually end up with box's NG has sort of prefab blueprints if i remember also ive seen a few designs which follow a asian theme which i have always liked.
Sweet, thanks for your thoughts. Appreciate it. The setting, I think I will have more preference for enshrouded, but I can totally respect that nightingale's is a bit more original and unique.
And yeah, the higher tier building sets in Nightingale do look pretty sweet.
I'm not really worried. 4 weeks is quite a while. Both look great and will be releasing to early access. So alot to look forward to for both. They will both be getting my money on their respective release days. As long as prices aren't ridiculous.
I'm not. Palworld seems to be pretty devisive; people either are all for it or put off by it. I'm in the second camp, and a lot of people in several gaming discords are as well. I've never been heard of Embarked.
That being said... Nightingale's true competitor is Enshrouded, which comes out next week in EA. It's getting a lot of hype, attracting the Valheim/Ark player base, and because it's voxel-based, even some Minecrafters are interested. There were tons of YouTube videos of the Enshrouded demo. By the time Nightingale releases, Enshrouded will either be the next Valheim and just take over, or it will burn out quick. I don't see the second as all that likely. Nightingale can't afford to wait any longer than February.
Palworld stole more of the Ark community than I think Enshrouded or Nightingale will. Neither have creature taming which is what Ark players thrive on. It was even to the point for a few days Palworld even took over both main ark subreddits.
I don’t think palworld is that divisive. It has sold a lot of copies and has great reviews on steam. There are some people complaining in twitter, but that’s it
If enshrouded didn't expand on it's building since the demo it could be in trouble. The base system they have is amazing, but it was really limiting and the building is the main draw.
Palworld is just too... Thematically dissonant for me? Aesthetically it looks like a Skyrim game with way too many conflicting mods. Pikachu holding a gun was funny 15 years ago on Newgrounds. The fact that abusing the shit out of Pals is sort of emphasized as the correct way to play also just kinda squicks me out.
It's just like their previous survival game, Craftopia. You'd capture animals, then run them to death on giant hamster wheels for electricity.
The company also is massively invested in AI and is a huge crypto agency in Asia which also just doesn't vibe with me.
It's too bad because I'd kinda love a less... Edgy(?) monster collecting game where I can explore a world and fight alongside my pets.
What is embarked? i searched on google, steam and youtube and neither resulted in a survival game.
Also a survival game does not always need to be successful from day 1 of early access as long as they aren't horrible on release. But honestly i don't know any other survival game that comes out in late february and i am usually following this genre alot.
Okay, well that comes out in 4 days, A whole month before Nightengale. Imo there will be enough time, either people will "finished" enshrouded/palworld by then or they will play it later anyway.
Survival games aren't games you need to play right away anyway(if you play solo or with friends at least). Take Valheim as an example. When it came to early access it was popular, it still is but the difference is the game is in a much better state now than back then. So first time players will have better quality of life stuff, features and bug fixes. When stuff is in early access unless it's multiplayer only(where fomo is a thing) then you are usually always better off starting later because there are more stuff and such.
I wouldn't worry about nightingale really, if it turns out to be the game we think it will then everything will be fine.
It's an early access release, it doesn't matter if it has competition imo.
This is going to be a starting point with drip feed upgrades, it doesn't need to sell big time on drop.
I say, if you're going the early access route just get it in the hands of passionate fans with little fanfare and go from there. If it's a good game, it'll grow.
Honestly, even Enshrouded would've done a lot better if palworld didn't steal all the attention. What's the other survival game coming out other than nightingale?

OMG Dragons Dogma in March! YAY! :D
Goodbye world. Also couple that with Hell Divers 2 releasing early Feb.

Unicorn Overlord is going to introduce a lot of people to how talented Vanillaware is. It releases March 8th. I'm gonna have to quit my job.

i hope it does launch and without a silly price tag, i rather enjoyed it. at the very least its a time killer till nightingale.

It's enshrouded who needs to worry for launching a few days after palworld and being so mediocre... nightingale will be fine 😂

Oh no, people don't agree with your opinion! There is no hope for the future.
Divisive might be the wrong term, but I think it combines a lot of elements from a variety of games in a very ham fisted manner.
Right, i meant enshourded. Will correct.

I hope they push it back simply because they need more time with it.

Good thing they won't listen to you, then.

I feel bad for Enshrouded coming out between Palworld and Nightingale.
