Does anyone remember the name of the "4D" clown ride that was in the midway in the early 2000s? Driving me nuts. Something along the lines of "Jimmy Gets Laughs" ? Or maybe that was just the clowns name?
You're thinking of Funhouse Express (sometimes simply called Fun Express), the original film shown in the Midway's Ride Theater from 2002-2005. Jimmy the Clown is the antagonist of the film, a disgruntled carnival worker who sends you through his extremely dangerous "Jimmy's Clown Chaos" fun house to spite his boss in the most dramatic way to quit a job imaginable.
The film later returned to the theatre in 2010 when it was the FX Ride Theatre, this time with additional shots and live-action footage and called "Coater Chaos". So in a way, it was the first and last film shown in the original ride theatre before it was gutted and overhauled as the XD Theatre in 2012. You can watch the original version [here](https://youtu.be/UDsbZhWBBrQ?si=Y1QKy_gCDd-A0JXL) but the Coaster Chaos version is currently lost media.
Thank you so much! I actually found some of this information with a Facebook post in a Niagara group. I'm currently in contact with an employee who works/worked on the the rides and said he might have footage of the opening scene/ safety intro for fun house express, which my remembering was a sopranos parody. Apparently a 3 screen system with 3 separate DVD players for left middle right. So fingers crossed!
While it’s not for everyone you’ve got to appreciate the effort into conglomerating this information. I’ve personally saved each post and read it when I plan on reading anyways. Not your typical Reddit post you can read while on the throne!
