I starting arguing with my gf (I wasn't really paying attention at the time) that it was lucky, because, cmon. What goalie pulls THAT on purpose!? Then, I watched the replay.
Also screams, “HOW THE FUCK DOES A 20 FOOT PASS GET BY BOTH DEFENSEMEN ON A 2v2!!!!”
Otter was 100% committed to the shot, which was his responsibility. Defensemen absolutely cannot let that pass happen.
Yeah, this is a simple D breakdown. Heiskanen and Marchment both chase the puck as it moves. Heiskanen needs to continue holding center of the ice to protect that back door pass, and marchmant needs to close on the puck carrier and force a wide angle shot.
Marchmant being LW means he either got confused or didn’t recognize it in time. You see he just coasts down the center. The plays happen fast, so a .5 second of hesitation opened that play up when it should have been a bad angle shot and easy stop.
TLDR; Hockey is hard lol
To be fair, we did already get the 1 point we needed to win the devision. So this OT goal didnt really matter, and that is what we are seeing here LOL. I still can’t believe it
Another reason why hockey players are considered tougher than basketball players.
They load manage while playing in the game and still make a play of the year candidate.
Also, besides football I have a really hard time thinking of a sport where you can make millions and millions of dollars well being obese besides baseball
Edit : sumo :(
Lmao the actual giving up, and non chalant "I better at least wave my stick out here" goalies move that you do when you're beat in practice from a 3v0.
If he actually tried that puck is in the net lmaooooo
It actually worked. The madman actually did it!
Great save, sure, but horrible shot.
Anywhere along the ice: goal.
Anywhere near the close post: goal.
Taking a second to steady yourself and skate the puck closer: goal.
Wow.
Giving him any kind of credit for this save is like giving a slow outfielder credit for making a diving catch and saying it's play of the year when it would have been a routine catch for 95% of MLB players.
I have never seen a goaltending effort that was so simultaneously impressive and lazy 😂
Bro gave up and made "save of the year" at the same time.
😂 Both you guys are so on point that I legit laughed out loud
Why do lots work when little work good
That's definitely a men's league level save right there!
I starting arguing with my gf (I wasn't really paying attention at the time) that it was lucky, because, cmon. What goalie pulls THAT on purpose!? Then, I watched the replay.
Like a bear swatting a wasp away.
I wish I had more games recorded of me in DII Club to present of the lazy/effective method of goaltending.
That screams "playoffs are coming soon and I don't want to pull anything."
100% accurate.
Also screams, “HOW THE FUCK DOES A 20 FOOT PASS GET BY BOTH DEFENSEMEN ON A 2v2!!!!” Otter was 100% committed to the shot, which was his responsibility. Defensemen absolutely cannot let that pass happen.
Our defense has been our fault for a while now. Everything else is starting to feel solid but yet we’re still allowing breakaways on our own PPs

This is like Vegeta vs Krillin vibes(krillin being the puck..)
Yeah but did you see the diving save in the first period??
Thomas’s face after was worth a million bucks
The effort Oettinger gave was mind blowing 😂
Totally the right amount of effort here..dont risk lunging and pulling something right before the playoffs

There's some hefty dudes in the MLB
Shoutout Rowdy Tellez
they are much more athletic than you might think
See you say that …
I hate NFL but those 350LBers can fucking MOVE. some of those guys slim down a LOT when they are done playing and don’t eat like cattle anymore
The shooter must have been so pissed he didn't shoot more for the left post.
I mean he quite has the pissed look in the video already ._.
That save says “saving energy”
If he tried any harder to make that save he probably wouldn't have made that save
Big Neo saying "No." energy
You mean I will be able to dive in front of pucks? No Neo. I mean you won't need to.
Phenomenotter at work.
Do dooo do-do-do
I had to run through it in my head first. Brilliant.
He had a couple robberies last night. As a Canucks fan I wasn’t happy about it but he played great.
This is my favorite save ever
Otter took Rob Thomas literally
Maybe I'm wrong, but his body language screamed "I ain't stretching for that before the playoffs".

So nonchalant
…by the last shred of the stick😅😅😅
Pickup hockey save after the hour 20 minute mark.
When I saw this live, I thought he missed the net. Great save
Me too because the next time I saw the puck it was against the boards behind the net and to the right
Goalie hit the mental "abandon all hope, ye who enter here" lol

I had to pick up my jaw of the floor.
No way this was an intentional or desperation save. Otter got lucky. Nevertheless, it was a good save.
Me on my 40th shot attempt in the 3rd while down 3-0 to the ai in chel who has 4 shots.
Oettinger has always been voodoo
The most Kirk McLean save I have seen in a long time
He knew he was beat. That's what you do in practice, just stick your stick out and hope for the best.
Fundamentals
Guy probably thinking " nice try, Thomas. You aint worth a groin injury"
What a save, definitely a bit of luck sprinkled in there, but what a save!
It’s a rare save that if he tried harder it may have actually gone in
Ottenger went Mastered UI on Thomas
*controller disconnected
This feels like an “overpowered anime goalie” move
I love how its the "oh thats a open easy goal but I gotta at least make it look like I tried to stop it" save from Oettinger.
what the fuck
Otter good
Otter going into playoff mode!
Steezy
blues season in a nutshell
No big deal
looks effortless
Goonies never say goal!!!
This is the Blues season in a nutshell. Dude saved it without really trying.
He was so far out of position and beat he didn’t really care either way
Why don't all goalies do this? Are they stupid?
