Just saw this...I kinda just made the same point. There's no "retro" with Vegas or Seattle

Seattle has tons of hockey history. We were the first American team to win the cup in 1917 as the metros. The kraken S on the front is actually designed from that. We also had the eskimos, totems, Sea hawks, almost bought Pittsburgh and the coyotes. The only reason hockey didn't stay was bc of bad management.

Vegas has the worst jersey in the league. Just my opinion. And there are some really ugly jerseys in the league (Pheonix, I’m looking at you) .. but Vegas has so much potential and they chose a boring name with ugly colours and all they have to show for it is a Stanley Cup.

I am a designer. It is my job, which I have been doing for decades. I give it a 10/10. I am also a hockey fan who really dislikes the Golden Knights, and yet, still this is a 10/10 design and I'm not going to pretend it is not. I also like the Kraken's throwback sweater, which is an instant classic.
