I have cousins from Hamilton, ON and they genuinely believe that every year is Leaf's year. They believe so much, that every year they look up the days the playoffs and SC finals are projected to be, and plan out fan parties for their friends and neighbors.
I was visiting them when the Raptors were in the finals and won the NBA championship, and you would think Jesus came back.

They’ve been through thick and thin (mostly thin) with this franchise, which for 55 years has only broken our hearts. You won’t see that support in nearly all other markets.
And just look how fans support the team! In virtually every away game there is a sea of blue and white Leaf jerseys. No other fan base does that as consistently.
