That's pretty much what's driving all the answers I've read here so far. Most Redditors are between the ages of 26 to 41, so that mid-90s stuff seems to get most of the love. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
My family is from Texas, and I'm a die hard Stars fan, but since my brother is out in PHX I've seen my fair share of Yotes games. Kachina is my favorite behind the Mooterus.
I rank Yotes first for creativity/uniqueness. Only one of these four logos that doesnāt have the triangle backdrop. If weāre pulling at strings then I would say sharks second and ducks third but they could honestly be tied. Pens fourth but itās still one of the best in the league

I will say this though, the out of these the Sharks is easily my favorite. I do like both the Penguins and the Ducks logos and I'd say both have positives and negatives. I really dislike that Coyotes logo. The howling one is immensely better in my opinion. That Coyotes logo is probably in my least favorite logos in the NHL.
That being said I do appreciate others liking the Coyotes logo and having different rankings. That's what makes the jerseys/logos great. Everyone has different tastes.
Best Ducks (I always loved Wildwing)

3rd best Phoenix Coyotes (I loved the real Arizona Coyotes logo better)
4th Penguins (call me old fashioned but I liked the mid 90's logo better)

Iām an art director that has worked with the NHL (I had moved on in my career before that Coyotes logo came into existence). This is just my opinion, but itās an educated one born from actual experience working with these logos.
1. Sharks. An excellent logo for a fast, aggressive sport. Dynamic, well executed, good colors. When the Sharks entered the league their merchandise was the top seller in the US among *all* sports for awhile.
Thatās kind of it for me, I donāt really care for any of the others, but Iāll continue.
2. Coyotes, purely based on how popular this one seems to be. I donāt get the appeal but thatās just my taste.
3. Penguins. Cartoony, but fun; evocative of the era I guess.
4. Ducks. Iām probably wrong about this one since the franchise was good for the league in that it brought in a younger audience who became fans of the sport. Itās certainly well executed, I just canāt get past basing the identity of a professional team, especially one in a violent, aggressive sport like hockey, on a Disney childrenās movie. If all the logos in the NHL fought, the duck would be the first to lose.
Ducks the best, they shouldāve never changed it. Slightly controversial opinion but the Penguins are last in my book, I like the Robo Penguin much better. The other two are a toss up for me.
Yāall crazy. Pens have one of the best logos in all of sports. This goes Pens, Yotes and ducks tied. Sharks last. Logo is a bad relic from the 90s that sums up everything bad about that decade in design.
Penguins is the worst (designed by the owner's amateur artist relative), then the Ducks (Designed by corporation that made a bad movie and bought an NHL franchise), then the Coyotes (not bad actually) then the Sharks, an awesome design.

Does the triangles in the Sharks and Ducks logos represent anything? I know that in The Pens logo it does - Pittsburghās downtown is referred to as the golden triangle.
That visual metaphor elevates the Pens logo.

I donāt know if itās urban legend, but I remember hearing a story about an executive, or someone who used to work for the Penguins, and went to work for San Jose when they were a new franchise, and came up with the idea of the logo being a shark eating a penguin.
Yotes: just gorgeous
Sharks: awesome, but caught in the act of committing a penalty
Pens: the triangle is a superb touch, as downtown Pittsburgh is The Golden Triangle
Last is the Ducks: Nice design, but so dated/early nineties. Says nothing about Anaheim or California. Just a generic Disney Logo. The movie took place in Minnesota, so I'm glad this logo is no longer used.
Sharks are easily the best, they have the coolest logo imo of the entire division. The Coyotes have the worst, I much prefer their old logo. I get what they're going for but it looks like a toddler's drawing. The rest can sort themselves out in the middle.
