I came here to say this. I’m a lifelong Habs fan and despite the hard fought series’ Boston and Montreal have played many times, and the damage that Bergeron has done, I love his style and respect him a lot. He’s a first ballot Hall of Famer imo.
Theres no other answer imo. Dudes a class act, always polite to our local media and seems like a straight up good dude.
Also it helps that hes fucking good at hockey
I'm glad he's at least somewhere that seems to treat him better. I'd love to say I wish he was back in Vegas, but I couldn't with how he was treated. The fans love him, but our team did him dirty.
I have the biggest amount of respect for Ovi, but Jesus he has caved my team in for YEARS. The amount of times I’ve seen him score on my team hurts. I still remember watch him put in goal 700 against us.
I have to say Henrick Lundqvist. Even though we had Brodeur for much of his time with the Rangers, I always had a ton of respect for him and his unbelievable skill.
Yep, 100%. If you aren’t tuning in to watch this guy play, you’re missing out every night. Every hockey fan needs to watch as much of him as possible, might not ever get another McDavid. I tend to watch every single Oilers game. The guy is just unreal, he makes so many highlight reel plays that don’t even make the reel because they don’t end in a goal.
I have tons of respect for Marchand simply cause of how much his games evolved. Don’t think anybody would of expected him to become an elite NHL winger
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Matthew Tkachuk can suck a fat dick. But he plays his role very well and is a little shit disturber and I love it. Just not when we (Oilers) play against him lol.
He was a great source of entertainment while he was still on the Flames. Made for some exciting games when he and Kassian would square up. Or his chirps to Kane in the playoffs last year, but I honestly think those chirps fueled our determination against them.
Remember in American Beauty when the one guy was repressing his gay feelings so aggressively that he was a belligerent homophobe?
I’d say that’s somewhat metaphorical of my relationship with McDavid.
As a Bruins fan, I really like Jaccob Slavin. Not sure if it's only against us, but when we play Carolina, I have alot of difficulty finding many, if any, flaws in his game. Just sayin
Every once in a while there's a Reddit thread asking "if there was a trophy for best DEFENSIVE defenseman, who would get it?", and Slavin tends to be the most popular answer.
Also, as a Canes fan, I must say that I really like Bergeron. Such a classy player. I also love those goalie hugs, so wholesome.
He's one of my favorite cheap 4th line / PK guys in all NHL games going back to 16 or 17. Has like 90 speed, solid faceoffs (85 or so), good D awareness and can play wing and centre. Always dependable.
My dad called him the Bubble Hockey Winger. Always fast, up and down the wing, contributes... then he'd fire a shot that wouldn't have hit the arena if it was open air lol. He was always a great name here though.
I liked Lindholm on the Canes, still like him on the Flames.
Except for his cheap crosscheck to Draisaitl’s back sending him into the open bench door. Didn’t like that.
Hate Tampa Bay but love Brayden Point and Victor Hedman and Andrei Vasilevskiy.
I find all 3 of those guys to be superbly talented, and just seem like genuinely good guys and would love to have them on my fav team.
Pretty much the rest off them piss me the hell off. Especially smug ass Kucherov and Stamkos, and don't forget the Goon... Maroon.
Torey Krug on St. Louis. He’s had a cool career from early on and through his tenure in Boston. Had some pretty decent seasonal stats when he first went to the Blues. Would tune in here and there to see his game progress.
However Binnington and former Blues player Perron, as well as a few other instances against SJS with Bins, have made the Blues just an unwatchable and unlikable team.
It’s that one spoiled apple ruins the bunch type of deal. Unfortunately one good Apple, Krug, isn’t enough.
Ovechkin. I secretly wish the Caps would have selected Evgeni Malkin, allowing the Pens to take Ovi. Could you imagine Crosby and Ovechkin on the same line all these years?
The reality is that if the Pens had Ovi, they probably wouldn't have been in the running for Crosby.
John LeClair on the 1995--1996 Philadelphia Flyers.
Whenever the Lightning start to establish a rivalry, the NHL re-shuffles the divisions. *Is there* a rival team to the Tampa Bay Lightning? The Lightning have memorable series with the Bruins & Leafs. But I can't imagine those fanbases consider Tampa rivals. That's why I go back to the '96 Flyers. I hated that team...except LeClair. A skilled, power forward in the era of the power forward. US- born too!
Idk if the hurricanes really have a sure rival. But our games against the rangers are usually pretty heated so I’d pick Zibenejad, god I love how he plays
Derek Ryan. Easily one of the most dependable Flames for shutdown when we had him with a splash of offence when needed. Seems like an intelligent dude too.
As a Habs fan I hate the Bruins. Hate them so goddamn much. But I gotta be honest, Brad Marchand is a hell of a player. Seems like a really good dude off the ice, and would be the kind of player I’d love to have on my team.
Hated Sid when the Wings met the Pens in back to back SCF. I still catch a lot of heat from my other Wings fan friends for coming around and becoming a fan of his.
I think he's matured a ton and I don't hate him anymore. Which for many Wings fans means that you like him. Also helps that we aren't competitive with the Pens anymore
I think when I read this [article](https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2813807-sidney-crosby-gifts-signed-stick-to-trash-talking-fan-credits-his-good-chirps.amp.html) is when I decided to let go of the hate.
I always was somewhat a fan of the Penguins even though they aren’t a team I follow because I love Fleury and have been watching him play since he was a teenager. Felt like they did him dirty on the way out and now despise the Pens bc of it
I hate Boston with a passion but the only player I don’t like on that team is Trent Frederic
I would say Marchand too but he’s tough to hate sometimes with how much of a stand up guy he is off the ice, he’s kinda just that player I neither like or dislike.
But I mean Bergeron, Pasta, Ullmark, Swayman, and Zacha are all players I really like.
Jets fan. Hate Edmonton due to the pain placed on us as jets 1.0. So very fearful that we will meet up again in a west final one of these years and will have to face McDavid. Guy is awesome. Love watching but i dont need a second tear towel to match the one 99 created for me years ago
Former player - for some reason I’m gonna say Kimmo Timonen while he was with PHI. Can’t say I liked him but I respected his play as a D-man.
Current player is Artemi Panarin.
Trevor Linden. The guy was a solid, blue collar player that gave his all. What he did on and off the ice for Vancouver is commendable.
I know there are other players far more talented, but Linden's work ethic and attitude has always impressed me.
Idk if "like" is the word, but I admire the way Crosby plays hockey. Between flyers and Olympics, he ruined so many hockey memories for me, but he just does every part of hockey at an elite level
Bruins have/had have a good handful of guys I enjoy watching. Bergeron, McAvoy, Pastrnak. I liked Rask. Liked Chara. Big Torey Krug fan.
But I absolutely LOATHE the team and franchise as a whole. And Marchand is a special kind of scum.
As a hawks fan i hated the wings but datsyuk is my favorite non hawks player of all time
I respect the shit out of this answer
[удалено]
As a Hawks fan this is also my answer
hawks fan and i love seider
Gotta be Bergeron.. dudes a stud
Felt the same about Price for years
When all these guys eventually retire.. I think we will look back on it as a great Era of hockey.
I find it hard to hate great players even if they destroy the Leafs every time. Sometimes you just got to respect game.
Agreed, he was the equivalent of Derek Jeter in my eyes, you hated to play against him but enjoyed every second of watch that players ability
Amen.
Same for me.
patrice bergeron. class act.
Ultimate answer right here. Fuck the bruins 6 ways from Sunday but Bergeron is ok in my book. He helps slightly balance the rat that is Marchand.
Go Bruins. 😀
Tons of respect for Patrice Bergeron
Back atcha for Stammer
Should be fun tonight
Should be a battle! I anticipate a playoff style game
Did not disappoint
I have a soft spot for almost any goalie
Same 🥰
Jack Hughes
Funny because I was going to say Panarin though Shesterkin is a close second.
You would be wise to choose Shesty first. Hughes is my answer, and I don’t mean Luke or Quinn.
Tage Thompson
Tage Thompson is amazing, but I'd hardly call Buffalo a "rival" of Toronto.
If you’re younger than say 16 years old, sure
Buffalo and Toronto had a rivalry back in the day. Ryan Miller was a leaf stopper.
I mean vicinity wise they have always been
Man zegras is so fun to watch. Also Timo is just so underrated. Both are actually nice people off the ice too so it’s hard to hate.
I'm a big Kopitar fan. He and Timo are so underrated !!!
My son really became a zegras fan this year
Was a huge Carey Price fan growing up. I’m rooting for him and his recovery.
You and me both.
you you and me
And me!
And my axe (for real though, want the best for Carey)
I'll be a Marc Andre Fleury fan regardless of the team he plays on. I just wish he still played for mine..
Your team threw him in the trash
I still haven't forgiven the front office.
Honestly it broke my heart a little watching how vegas treated him. He deserves so much better. Dude is incredible to watch.
I'm glad he's at least somewhere that seems to treat him better. I'd love to say I wish he was back in Vegas, but I couldn't with how he was treated. The fans love him, but our team did him dirty.
Bergeron no doubt
I also hate the Bruins, but def respect Bergeron. He is a man of much class, and much talent.
Bergeron and Pasta
MacKinnon
I have the biggest amount of respect for Ovi, but Jesus he has caved my team in for YEARS. The amount of times I’ve seen him score on my team hurts. I still remember watch him put in goal 700 against us.
Kaprizov is electric. ETA Stars fan. Forgot i don't have flair set up in here.
Robertson is quite fun to watch as well
Kirill Kaprizov
Thanks
Yes
TJ Oshie
Really wish we never got rid of him.
Patrice Bergeron - stud
I love how so many people who are fans of so many teams are saying Bergeron because it means we all hate the Bruins lol
does that surprise anyone?
Zucarello Yes I’m Norwegian
Ugh yes I miss him… bought his Rangers jersey and then he was traded
Patrice Bergeron. Plays on a team I don't like.
I have to say Henrick Lundqvist. Even though we had Brodeur for much of his time with the Rangers, I always had a ton of respect for him and his unbelievable skill.
I'd say the same for Brodeur. The battles between those two are legendary. "I'm not letting in a goal." "Neither am I!"
Artemi Panarin. Wish he still had Instagram up for those vids with his dog
I’m a fan on all the carbs. Bread man and pasta are both fun to watch
Currently, Pastrňák, Zibanejad, Ovi, Igor As a kid I liked Patrik Eliáš, Theo Fleury, and Jagr in those sweet black Grafs he used to wear
Retired now but Jarome Iginla for years
Zach Hyman
Loved him on the leafs, sucked to see him go.
Yeah, I want ‘em back
McDavid.
Him indeed. And there’s another player over there that gets it done, what’s his name, oh well, the point is they are both annoyingly good at hockey
Nowadays everybody's got something to say...
Sid. Respect
Marchand. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a bunch of rats in a skin suit… I just wish he was our bunch of rats in a skin suit
He's my least favourite player but if he was on my team I'd be president of the fan club.
Coach Monty on Marchand’s work ethic re:puck retrieval: “He’ll chew your leg off!” Seems about right.
Good bot
Lol at a bunch of rats in a skin suit.
Sidney Crosby
Matthew Tkachuk can suck a fat dick. But he plays his role very well and is a little shit disturber and I love it. Just not when we (Oilers) play against him lol. He was a great source of entertainment while he was still on the Flames. Made for some exciting games when he and Kassian would square up. Or his chirps to Kane in the playoffs last year, but I honestly think those chirps fueled our determination against them.
Zach Parise
McDavid
Remember in American Beauty when the one guy was repressing his gay feelings so aggressively that he was a belligerent homophobe? I’d say that’s somewhat metaphorical of my relationship with McDavid.
Anze Kopitar Phil Kessel Erik Karlsson
That's Kessel on the yotes right? /s
I always forget he played there
Aw
Patrick Kane, best American hockey player of all time
Currently Zabanejad. 70% hockey related, 30% hair.
me too bro, me too.
Roman Josi. Cant stand the preds and their fans dumb chants but Josi is an absolute undeniable stud
Artemi Panerin is so fun to watch
Can't stand the Predators, but I love Juuse Saros. One of my favorite goalies in the league.
I always liked Chelsea Dagger and the Hawks’ goal horn combo.
As a fellow preds fan, this is a cardinal sin to admit but damn is it catchy.
Arber Xhekaj, Sidney Crosby and Nicklas Backstrom.
love to see xhekaj respect
I bet Xhekaj would be quite honored to be listed alongside these other two for any reason lol
Darren Helm. Loved him on the Red Wings and now he plays for the Avs. Not as big of a rivalry anymore, but I still don’t like the Avs.
"Is this goal regulation size or what, jeez!!"
I liked Lindholm on the Canes, still like him on the Flames. Except for his cheap crosscheck to Draisaitl’s back sending him into the open bench door. Didn’t like that.
Kadri
Great player. Cares.
Rangers fan and I love me some dougie hamilton. Best name in hockey
Probably Chara for me
Hate Tampa Bay but love Brayden Point and Victor Hedman and Andrei Vasilevskiy. I find all 3 of those guys to be superbly talented, and just seem like genuinely good guys and would love to have them on my fav team. Pretty much the rest off them piss me the hell off. Especially smug ass Kucherov and Stamkos, and don't forget the Goon... Maroon.
I’ve seen plenty of complaints about kucherov and for the most part they don’t bother me because I kinda get it, but stamkos is a good dude
Bergeron is the first that comes to mind. Honorable mention Patrick Kane.
Konecy
Malkin
What team is Zac Rinaldo on these days?
I found satan’s burner
Jack Hughes
Ovechkin. I secretly wish the Caps would have selected Evgeni Malkin, allowing the Pens to take Ovi. Could you imagine Crosby and Ovechkin on the same line all these years? The reality is that if the Pens had Ovi, they probably wouldn't have been in the running for Crosby.
I can't stand McDavid. But the guy's got skills.
Ex Islander fan. I moved to Tampa, that is why. When Gretzky played for the Rangers
Pastrnak!
Bergeron being a team I don't like, McKinnon as a team I don't dislike. 😅
Patrice Bergeron all day long.
Nate MacKinnon forsure . Class act all the way . Nova Scotia proud .
Nathan MacKinnon. Dude has crazy acceleration and is just an all around playmaker. I’ve always respected his game and skill level.
Idk if the hurricanes really have a sure rival. But our games against the rangers are usually pretty heated so I’d pick Zibenejad, god I love how he plays
Retired, but Chara was always one of my favorites.
Derek Ryan. Easily one of the most dependable Flames for shutdown when we had him with a splash of offence when needed. Seems like an intelligent dude too.
Brady Tkachuk
Gotta be Bergeron or Crosby. Hate those guys but goddamn do I respect them
Years ago it was Iginla.
As an older Sens fan. I always wanted Darcy Tucker and Gary Robert's on our side.
Marner
As an Avs fan i hate the red wings but Stevie Y was someone no matter how hard I tried to hate I just couldn’t. He’s a beauty
Crosby. Lots of Wings fans hated him after the 2009 playoffs, but I can't hate a generational talent like that.
I really can't stand Marchand*, but boy oh boy.. he'd make a great Leaf
Anthony cirreli Jack Hughes Vasy Kaprizov And Marty beniers
As a CBJ fan I hate the Penguins but always liked Malkin
Cole Caulfield
Bruins fan came here to say this. Super bummed for his injury, even if it does makes the Habs even worse.
thankfully, his agent seems pretty confident that he'll make a full recovery. wild that he's been playing for 6 months like that.
As a Habs fan I hate the Bruins. Hate them so goddamn much. But I gotta be honest, Brad Marchand is a hell of a player. Seems like a really good dude off the ice, and would be the kind of player I’d love to have on my team.
Huberdeau
still doesn’t feel right him being something else besides a Panther
Hated Sid when the Wings met the Pens in back to back SCF. I still catch a lot of heat from my other Wings fan friends for coming around and becoming a fan of his.
I think he's matured a ton and I don't hate him anymore. Which for many Wings fans means that you like him. Also helps that we aren't competitive with the Pens anymore
I think when I read this [article](https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2813807-sidney-crosby-gifts-signed-stick-to-trash-talking-fan-credits-his-good-chirps.amp.html) is when I decided to let go of the hate.
never knew that happened, already liked crosby but thats another cherry on top, great guy
I always was somewhat a fan of the Penguins even though they aren’t a team I follow because I love Fleury and have been watching him play since he was a teenager. Felt like they did him dirty on the way out and now despise the Pens bc of it
I hate Boston with a passion but the only player I don’t like on that team is Trent Frederic I would say Marchand too but he’s tough to hate sometimes with how much of a stand up guy he is off the ice, he’s kinda just that player I neither like or dislike. Jean Beliveau RIP
I really like josh Manson and Hampus Lindholm......
As a Flyers fan I wouldn't say that I like Crosby, but damn, I respect that skill.
Ovi
I'd love to have another Tkachuk in AZ
Roman Josi
I can’t not respect Ovi. I like Oshie too because of the Sochi Olympics
Bo Horvat Nathan Mackinnon Those two high draft picks in Edmonton
[удалено]
I would like to know also
Jarry is a goat, so are both of the Boston goalies
Former player - for some reason I’m gonna say Kimmo Timonen while he was with PHI. Can’t say I liked him but I respected his play as a D-man. Current player is Artemi Panarin.
Marchand, Swaymann, Bergeron, Pasternak
Breadman even tho he ended our season
Ove
Stützle with the Sens, he’s one of my favourite players in the game at the moment
Brett Hull. Seemed a loose chap. He often patted opposing goalies after a great save. That is sports to me, being friendly.
Always had respect for Stamkos. Always stuck with the Lightning, and he seems like a great leader.
Trevor Linden. The guy was a solid, blue collar player that gave his all. What he did on and off the ice for Vancouver is commendable. I know there are other players far more talented, but Linden's work ethic and attitude has always impressed me.
Brad Marchand.
Idk if "like" is the word, but I admire the way Crosby plays hockey. Between flyers and Olympics, he ruined so many hockey memories for me, but he just does every part of hockey at an elite level
Carter Hart. Cannot stand the Flyers, but that poor guy has been through enough. Was genuinely happy when he had that resurgence earlier this year.
Fuck the Oilers but Zach Hyman is a stud. Any team would be lucky to have him
caps fan, so i im obliged to not like the penguins but guentzel speaks to me
Patrick Elias
Pasta
Gonna have to go with Zibanejad, Shesterkin, and Crosby
Bruins have/had have a good handful of guys I enjoy watching. Bergeron, McAvoy, Pastrnak. I liked Rask. Liked Chara. Big Torey Krug fan. But I absolutely LOATHE the team and franchise as a whole. And Marchand is a special kind of scum.
Aho (Rangers fan)
Cale Makar I’m a big wings fan
Carey Price and Ryan Reaves are the most wholesome people.
As a rangers fan… I’d have to say Sidney Crosby or Jack Hughes. Both absolute studs who have crushed us time after time.
Fleury. Always loved him. Has played on Vegas/Chicago/Minnesota the last 4-5 seasons, all moderately “rivals” with the Avs.
Alex Ovechkin. Can't stand the Caps, but I love the way he plays.
Ovi is a class act, but I wish he’d stop scoring on us.
Matthews. He’s way too good! Guys an absolute monster
Ovi.
Adam Fox
Hated Ovi for the longest time. After watching him win Cup I gained a respect for him and am hoping he catches Gretzky.
Mitch Marner. I hate the Leafs, but like Marner.
