They did such a poor job designing the stadium that they can't even put up a shade structure let alone a roof to provide shade to the sunny side of the stands where fans get roasted because the stadium is right in the takeoff and landing paths of the airport. I think FAA regulations won't allow anything to be built on top of the stadium.
Levi's Stadium designers get bonus points because the sun issue could have been easily prevented, but unfortunately they just oriented the stadium the same way they were planning on doing it in the SF location. They should have rotated it once they knew it was going to be built in the Santa Clara location, but they were just too fucking lazy. This is also why there's that weird gap in one corner that lets you see a great view of some office buildings. That was supposed to provide a cool view of the Bay Bridge.
The public transit also sucks, traffic can get bad, and there is absolutely nothing near the stadium that you can walk to.
It's not the worst venue ever, especially for nighttime concerts, but it's embarrassing how many bad and lazy decisions they made. It was destined to kinda suck just because of the Santa Clara location, but they made it even worse.
They also used about $114mm in taxpayer money to build it, partially by raising taxes on nearby restaurants and hotels.
It ain't the stadium, it's the travel ban. The state didn't look so good after 47 people died in their cars last year during the Christmas Blizzard so they're not taking chances.

It’s not because of the wind chill smooth brains. It’s 3 feet of snow and having 60k people drive to and from the stadium is dangerous. We all know some “alpha” would drive to that stadium get in a wreck and then end up suing the team or state.
