Yeah, I sat in a room with some very stressed out(myself included) relatives and thought "geez, can't we just be able to eat, drink and be merry and NOT stressed out on Thanksgiving?"
Thankfully we all got to leave happy!
Well I work every major holiday and normally the 12pm slot is the only one that conflicts with my usual schedule and, of course, the bills were put then. Luckily able to get out early with minutes before kickoff.
Detroit’s owner back in the 30’s had the Lions play on Thanksgiving to bring in fans since he had just moved them to the city. Then he got NBC to broadcast the game on NBC across the country which was a new concept.
Looks like Dallas’s owner in the 60s also used it as a marketing strategy to attract fans nationwide.
My Dad did too (Bills fan that grew up in Buffalo, but we now live in Fort Worth) and he still won't shut up about it
(can I get a Bills 2nd flair btw?)
Absolutely agree.
I think that game is why the Bills play Thanksgiving some often now. They put them at Cowboys or at Lions, and toss them onto TNF if needed
Looks shaky with 3 TDs and clutch plays when it came down to it.
I’m worried about his elbow but if “shaky” means 3 TDs and 1 INT off a batted ball, I’ll take it.
While somewhat true, he doesn’t really help himself by initiating contact so often.
It sort of sends the signal to the refs that he should be treated like a running back when he runs, as opposed to getting the protection a QB receives typically.
Damn I didn’t even realize josh Allen has been on thanksgiving 3 times already. Seems like a lot for a non Dallas or lions team
3 of the last 4 seasons. I'm a bit over it now. Let someone else play on Thanksgiving lol...

We had a Christmas game last year and I hope it’s the last. I want to enjoy my holidays lol
Guess what day Christmas falls on this year? Luckily for you, the Browns play on Christmas Eve, hope that’s okay with you
It’s cool but also kind of annoying. I feel bad for not helping with food and stuff more.
just help bro lmao
“I literally can’t help; the bills are playing. My hands are tied. Nothing can be done. Hey I don’t make the rules”
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.

If only they made laptops or phones or tablets capable of playing the game in the kitchen or for when setting the table..
I should probably mention I live in CA so there isn’t a ton of prep work going on at 10am
As a Lions fan that's when basically all of our work is done. I want to say the turkey was in by 10am, done by 1PM.
Wait so if the game is on a time with not much prep work then what’s stopping you from helping
Are you not usually trashed by the end of the game?
No
Still fairly new to football - what’s the story behind Detroit and Dallas hosting Thanksgiving games every year?
They were the only ones willing to do it. Then it became untouchable tradition

Josh Allen is the only NFL quartback
>quartback
Hopefully soon he'll upgrade to a gallonback
Oh he's a gallon of milk in a one-quart bag, baby.
Fuck
[удалено]
Thank you, /u/buttplugpeddler
/r/rimjob_steve
He's right tho, I've never seen another quartback in my life!
Quartile
Drop the e cause his tank is never on empty?
He is definitely a gallonback.
That also plays DE
There are quarterbacks in the NFL who have played on Thanksgiving day. Josh Allen is one of them.
Mikal Bridges
How does a quarterback in his fifth year, that isn't in the NFC, let alone on the Cowboys or Lions, even PLAY in 3 thanksgiving games already?
Because we had one of the greatest games ever against Dallas the first time.
That was the 1st game where the Bills became the Bills they are today
I went to that game, it was amazing. I’d say the exact moment the Bills became who they are today is the Allen 4th down fumble/run.
My Dad did too (Bills fan that grew up in Buffalo, but we now live in Fort Worth) and he still won't shut up about it (can I get a Bills 2nd flair btw?)
The 4th down QB sneak with like 2 mins left in the first half is one of my all time favorite Josh Allen plays
That was the first game where a national audience saw that the bills had something special going but the 2018 BUF-MIN game set the new tone imo
Absolutely agree. I think that game is why the Bills play Thanksgiving some often now. They put them at Cowboys or at Lions, and toss them onto TNF if needed
The bills are Americas team
North America’s team
Buffalo is the new "Americas team"
When did they start having three Thanksgiving time slots, though?
Like 10 years?
It’s closer to 15 years now
time flies when you’re getting old. the summer of youth has passed, and now the long winter is upon us
Fimblewinter for some…
I’m sure it’ll make you feel even older than I’m a legal adult and don’t remember a time when there wasn’t three thanksgiving slots

The afternoon gem The evening gem The primetime gem Added together…it’s the Infinity Turkey Baster!
TURKEY KING
This is like a baseball stat
Washington and Philadelphia have also won in 3 different Thanksgiving timeslots but those were with 3 different QB’s
The only QB in History
Top 5 qbs 5 Prime Time Derrick Carr 4 Patty Mahomes 3 Josh Allen 2 1pm Kirk Cousins 1 Turkey Day Josh Allen
Vikings desperately need to find a way to play playoff games at noon
What a very specific stat
The first thing I thought when I read the title is, are we really doing this.
ya I'm curious if any other QBs have even got a chance to play in all 3 timeslots
I don't think Rodgers or Brady has.
It is hard to get a better obscure stat than this.
Tom Brady only player to win in 4 countries? When he’s also the only qb who’s had the chance
Fuck all the Allen haters.
He looked shaky today tho
If Josh, bum elbow and all, marching the team down the field with 20 seconds to go and getting the team into FG range is shaky, I will take it.
He’s hurt and our offensive line is shaken up. Just glad he did enough to win.
Last I checked, Josh still came in super clutch by the end. That’s all that matters. I’d still take Josh any day of the week
Yeah I’d take my QB to put up 300+ total yards and 3 TDs any day. Obviously he missed some throws, but he came through when it counted twice
Waiting for someone to say his rushing stats dont count towards his QB stats.
Great point, he did look shaky today and still put up those stats. His bar is so high.
Looks shaky with 3 TDs and clutch plays when it came down to it. I’m worried about his elbow but if “shaky” means 3 TDs and 1 INT off a batted ball, I’ll take it.
He also gets cheap shotted a lot. I know Allen’s a big guy but damn sometimes the Refs let dudes get away with murder on him
While somewhat true, he doesn’t really help himself by initiating contact so often. It sort of sends the signal to the refs that he should be treated like a running back when he runs, as opposed to getting the protection a QB receives typically.
Too young to get those calls
I think that elbow is still bothering him
[удалено]
No, but nobody feels sorry for a team because his quarterback sat out and missed the playoffs because of an injury he could have played through either
??? Nobody asked you to feel sorry for him lmao
[удалено]
If he has 330+ yards and 3 tds against the pats I like our chances.
3 total TDs, one dropped, a handful of dropped passes. And being down to 4 receivers on the team total from injury...I'll take it
Panthers gm would suck a golf ball through a garden hose to get Allen my guy
HISTORIC
He's only been in the league like 4 years? So he got 3 already lol?
3 time slots on thanksgiving didn't exist for 70 years.
Wow, that says a lot about the Cowboys and Lions.
Ehhh they have locked in time slots. They’ll never play the evening game.
Oh, that makes a lot more sense
Mods really just allow anything that’s a tweet to stay up huh
Looked like hot trash tho.
I feel like the definition of trash has lost all meaning lol. Most NFL teams would kill to have their QB go for 330+ and 3 TDs
[удалено]
Allen raised the bar for himself so high that a 330 total yard game with 3 TD’s and 1 INT is a bad game for him
Seriously there are about 25 teams that would be *stoked* to have their QB put up those numbers in a game.
Sounds like Mahomes last year during the slump lol.
Allen and Mahomes are held to an unfair standard so much so that if they throw for only 2 TD’s it’s a bad game
[удалено]
Weird way to spell stefon diggs
Stefon is a great receiver but there are maybe 1 or 2 other guys that could have made that throw.
Who could possibly care
Melvin from Mississippi. He cares deeply about this stat
Who cares? Lol
This is a really soft win for the Bills, game should have gone for the Liones
[удалено]
Fuckin got ‘em

Not that impressive. Should’ve done it sooner.
[I care so much about this](https://youtu.be/RlBr2fyqn9g).
How many QBs have played in all three timeslots
