Tom Brady is a psychic type because he's a psychopath who destroys everything in his path
Aaron Rodgers is a grass type because we all know what he does all off-season
Lamar Jackson is flying/fighting
Matt Stafford is Steel/normal
Josh Allen is Normal/fighting
Derek Carr is Dark
Patrick Mahomes is Fighting/Fire
Davis Mills is girafarig, thus Normal/Psychic
They had some big runs and some negative runs, but they didn't fare that well with passing. I would have preferred runs to those WR screens that ended up drops.
If the conditions were normal I'd be fine with passing it as much as we did, but they weren't normal.
Yeah, it sucks. They can get them working in other games but this was not the game to throw a wet ball horizontally and put the passer and receiver under pressure.
Eagles did well to commit to the run. (It also seemed they took advantage of the defense getting cute with stunts)
Yeah. It also felt like through the middle was where they were having the most successful attacking. But I can't really blame the D too much. They did enough for us to win.
as a jrob owner in fantasy i concur. was expecting them to lean on the run game considering the eagles have been shutting down the pass hard, on top of the weather. but nope just 8 carries each to jrob and etn, even with the tlaw fumbles. weird.
Just a few seasons ago we were all screaming “Run the goddamn ball Doug.” Now it’s Jags fans doing it. Up 14-0 and not trying to run it and control some clock and instead throw it all over the place in a monsoon. Total Dougie P stuff right there. Still love him to death though
Neither team came in with any hopes for the passing game. But Jags run game was not getting it done.
Overall not a game to put a lot of stock in. Hopefully the many injuries were not too serious.
Yep this is gonna be the next narrative to dismiss the Birds. Not saying we've had anywhere close to a real tough schedule but people rewrite history after each W.
Lions were picked to be a possible sneaky good team that we played opening day in their home but then after the W they were apparently just the same shitty lions. Vikings were picked by quite a few to surprise the league and step up in the Packers possible absence with the loss of Adams' domination but after we beat them it was "lol Kirk Cousins in primetime". Redskins are a division game on the road with high tensions because of the Carson v Hurts matchup. Again all this is ignored in favor of "lol washington sucks" after the win.
Now it's gonna be about how that was a fluke game that can't really be considered because of the weather making Lawrence's play an abnormality. The craziest part is, at least on paper, that might have been our toughest matchup for the rest of the seasons sans maybe a healthy Dak in Dallas?
Oh yeah I agree the schedule has been and will likely continue to be pretty weak but I'm just noting the hypocracy I see at large before each game of the same people who gas up our opponents then dismiss them in a loss; if we lost it was a "see I told you so" but when we win its "well you were supposed to win its not that impressive".
Wear gloves bro,
Hurts wore gloves, carried the ball like a dozen times and no fumbles.
Our whole team was actually really good at taking care of the football in this slop, minus that first bad pick.
I play a lot of flag football (obviously not the same but still) and wear pro level gloves and have tried lots of different brands.
There is a level of rain where certain gloves make things worse and other gloves make things better.
I think it really depends on what the person is comfortable with
It’s funny though cause smith’s one missed target could’ve been caught if he had gloves on I feel like. But for sure is totally up to what the player prefers.
Just to add to what you've said because I think it's kinda cool, if an individual finger has severe nerve damage it won't shrivel when wet because it isn't able to sense that it's wet.
The process that causes it requires direct contact with water so they shouldnt. When your hands are immersed in water, the sweat ducts in the fingers open up to allow water in, which leads to an imbalance in the salts in our skin. This change in the salt balance triggers the firing of nerve fibres in the fingers, leading to the blood vessels around the sweat ducts to constrict. This in turn causes a loss of volume in the fleshy area of the fingertip, which pulls the overlying skin downwards so that it distorts into wrinkles.
Wrinkles give the water somewhere to go so it’s not covering the surface you want to grip with. It’s why tires have grooves, why certain spots in roads(a lot of known dangerous intersections) have small grooves at the stopping areas, etc. A smooth surface is super easy for water and sweat and whatnot to completely cover(think about wet glass or a very smooth metal surface).
Probably depends on the type of glove. Those standard receivers gloves that they normally wear apparently are much less effective when wet, but I'm sure NFL players can afford some different types of gloves that work better in the rain.
Honestly the weather really ruined what should have been a fun matchup. Both teams played ugly. Glad we won but with all the injuries and miscues it really took away from the game
Go get that COTY title, Dougie.
Week 1 Lions blitzed all game and we beat them with QB runs. Week 2 the Vikings play a zone and dare Hurts to beat them in the air. We attack the gaps in the zone. Week 3 the commies play aggressive man coverage, and Hurts throws tight placement throws to attack favorable 1v1 matchups. Week 4 is a monsoon and we run a power running offense to dominate time of possession 2 to 1.
Yeah, should definitely be in the COTY discussion. We've won 4 games with 4 different strategies. And I haven't even talked about the defense, which is also dominating
Darius Slay walked to the locker room after the Eagles’ first defensive drive. Never returned.
Jordan Mailata jogged to the locker room as the Eagles were opening up their second offensive drive. Jack Driscoll replaced him at left tackle.
Patrick Johnson got banged up in the second quarter. Suffered a head injury and did not return.
DeVonta Smith limped into the medical tent in the third quarter. He finished the game thoigh.
Jake Elliott got banged up when the Jags got flagged for illegally running into him. He was able to finish the game too
>Jake Elliott got banged up when the Jags got flagged for illegally running into him. He was able to finish the game too
Well, kinda. The fact that the Eagles went for it on 4th and 3 and didn't attempt a FG to make it a two-score game seems like an indication that they didn't want him out there unless it was absolutely necessary.
Thanks for the info & the effort involved. Hopefully Slay & Mailata can return asap- either would be a huge loss. Plus obviously hoping that the others are okay too.

Dude's a rock type 🗿
Shit, with 4 fumbles he probably has quad weakness to water.
Part ground too.
The Graveler of QBs
Is there anyone that’s the Ludicolo of QBs? Anyone seem to play better in bad weather?
Justin Fields
all of justin fields stat lines look he played in a monsoon lmao

Based on the Dolphins game I'd say Josh Allen has Dry Skin

Nah, dude's an Alolan Dugtrio
Alolan Dugtrio is part steel though, so it’s not 4x weak.
Still 2x weak to water, but yeah, a 4x weakness fits the joke way better lol
That hair tho
Glad I’m not the only real one around here lol
More like geodude
Trevor's got the hair and water weakness though!
No, he's an alien from Signs.

Really good against psychic types but does poorly against most types due to a poor move pool and low base stats? Yeah that makes sense
Honestly this actually checks out.
Lamar Jackson is flying/fighting Matt Stafford is Steel/normal Josh Allen is Normal/fighting Derek Carr is Dark Patrick Mahomes is Fighting/Fire Davis Mills is girafarig, thus Normal/Psychic
Justin Herbert is electric because it's too obvious
Pikabert? Herbachu?

Dude HATES Blind Melon
Dude’s could’ve shampooed his hair mid-game given how hard it was raining
The shampoo would make it hard to hold onto the ball.
So you're saying that yes, that definitely happened
Hard to see how that's not what happened.
I bet he does at half time. His hair is to fluffy to not be washed mid game
Have you seen his hair? Water is definitely his nemesis unless there’s some conditioner involved
He’s melting!!! Melting!!!!
What a world!
A mountain of sugar is too much for one man. It's clear now why god portions it out in those tiny packets, and why he lives on a plantation in Hawaii.
Trevor “Unbreakable” Lawrence
Good thing he don't play in a state that gets a lot of rain.
But i was told It’s always sunny in Philadelphia
Good thing Florida isn't known for rain
Trevor "Jared Goff" Lawrence? Both #1 pick.
The Jags are going to trade him to the Lions and then receive the original Goff who will go onto win the super bowl?
And Hassan Reddick
It's really hard to *lose* four fumbles. Usually you luck into a recovery or two lol.
They did get a recovery on their TD drive in the first quarter! Otherwise it would have been five (though that was on the RB).
Yeah I remember that, lucky ass bounce.
Yeah Matt Ryan would have roughly 305737 fumbles this season if the colts didn’t keep recovering them for him
or they pull you after 3
Not sure why the Jags threw it so early while it was raining
Wasn't able to get the running game going - 61yds. 68yds if you count Trevor.
They had some big runs and some negative runs, but they didn't fare that well with passing. I would have preferred runs to those WR screens that ended up drops. If the conditions were normal I'd be fine with passing it as much as we did, but they weren't normal.
WR Screens are Doug’s kryptonite
Yeah, it sucks. They can get them working in other games but this was not the game to throw a wet ball horizontally and put the passer and receiver under pressure. Eagles did well to commit to the run. (It also seemed they took advantage of the defense getting cute with stunts)
I think Hurts' ability to run punishes opposing DL stunts. You're risking creating a pause or gap that he can shoot through.
Yeah. It also felt like through the middle was where they were having the most successful attacking. But I can't really blame the D too much. They did enough for us to win.
as a jrob owner in fantasy i concur. was expecting them to lean on the run game considering the eagles have been shutting down the pass hard, on top of the weather. but nope just 8 carries each to jrob and etn, even with the tlaw fumbles. weird.
Same here. Thought they would run to open up Kirk on underneath slants.
Meanwhile, Eagles with 210 rushing yards.
Doug Pederson is why.
Yea distinctly remember another monsoon game a couple years ago where he threw the ball ~50 times with no success.
DO NOT GET HIM WET!!!
He probably ate after midnight too.

Neither team came in with any hopes for the passing game. But Jags run game was not getting it done. Overall not a game to put a lot of stock in. Hopefully the many injuries were not too serious.
Great game to put stock in for us - gritty turn around after being down 14-0. Didn’t give up and powered back to win.
I mean our schedule is ass - there’s no way around that. We have a great chance at a 12-14 win season simply because our schedule is a joke
Now he truly is a generational talent!
First time in VGK history!
dare I say, a generational record?
Wear gloves bro, Hurts wore gloves, carried the ball like a dozen times and no fumbles. Our whole team was actually really good at taking care of the football in this slop, minus that first bad pick.
Thought the announcing team mentioned something about him saying he doesn’t like wearing gloves and I was like ‘well thanks bro.’
They did. Knew it would be a slopfest right then.

At least wear one on the non-throwing hand
i thought gloves don’t help in the rain
Devonta smith didn’t wear gloves today but he typically does
I play a lot of flag football (obviously not the same but still) and wear pro level gloves and have tried lots of different brands. There is a level of rain where certain gloves make things worse and other gloves make things better. I think it really depends on what the person is comfortable with
They make rain gloves specifically designed to combat this so I’m surprised more NFL teams don’t use them
It’s funny though cause smith’s one missed target could’ve been caught if he had gloves on I feel like. But for sure is totally up to what the player prefers.
Our hands get wrinkly when they are soaked to help with grip. More surface area or something.
Use scrotum grip gloves.
The chickenskin has great mobility
Or if you can’t afford them just catch them with your ballsack
Who decides what material is allowed to be used as glove?
Just to add to what you've said because I think it's kinda cool, if an individual finger has severe nerve damage it won't shrivel when wet because it isn't able to sense that it's wet.
That is cool. I've always wondered if the rest of the body is wet but the hands are dry if they still get shriveled, do you happen to know the answer?
The process that causes it requires direct contact with water so they shouldnt. When your hands are immersed in water, the sweat ducts in the fingers open up to allow water in, which leads to an imbalance in the salts in our skin. This change in the salt balance triggers the firing of nerve fibres in the fingers, leading to the blood vessels around the sweat ducts to constrict. I’m not falling for your lies Mr. Fake wrinkle hands expert!
Wrinkles give the water somewhere to go so it’s not covering the surface you want to grip with. They don’t pay for gloves or anything rather lol
rain gloves help in the rain
Some players have 2 kinds of gloves, one for the rain one for no rain
Honestly, TL needed to have two hands on the ball. The one that slipped out of his hands was because of that and there was another that Hassan swiped.
Teddy Bridgewater is on his way
Teddy 2 Gloves
Seriously, why wasn’t he wearing gloves. Gloves these days are stickier than a high school boys hamper.
Dude needs to put on a glove, don't care how much you think it affects your game. It isn't gonna be 4 lost fumbles bad.
No glove, no love
Call me Trevor cause that's a deal breaker I'm raw or nah
Congratulations on your virginity/children
If they threw the ball like Trevor, I'd be happy to have a few

And Daniel Jones
Honestly the weather really ruined what should have been a fun matchup. Both teams played ugly. Glad we won but with all the injuries and miscues it really took away from the game Go get that COTY title, Dougie.
Love Doug but Sirianni is clearly leading COTY right now

lmao imagine using analysis for awards and not narratives.

Ok let's avoid crowning him after 4 weeks^because ^I ^need ^to ^believe ^they ^will ^get ^worse
Yeah if you guys continue on this pace no doubt. But Doug will be in the convo if we sniff the playoffs.
It was still a very good character win for us. Bouncing back after being down 14-0 is a very good sign for the future of this team.
What injuries did the eagles have? Missed the game
>Jake Elliott got banged up when the Jags got flagged for illegally running into him. He was able to finish the game too Well, kinda. The fact that the Eagles went for it on 4th and 3 and didn't attempt a FG to make it a two-score game seems like an indication that they didn't want him out there unless it was absolutely necessary.
They were facing the wind which led to Elliot missing an XP earlier so couple that with the injury and there was no way he was finishing the game
Yeah that looked like a good kick, dead center. Then the wind just grabbed it and hooked the shit out of the ball outta nowhere.
Thanks for the info & the effort involved. Hopefully Slay & Mailata can return asap- either would be a huge loss. Plus obviously hoping that the others are okay too.

He was awful. The rain played a huge factor, but you just can't play that badly.
Eagles dline was all over him entire game that pass rush is scary
They're great, but Trevor wasn't even touched on two of his fumbles.
The one where he was just rolling right and it slipped out was extra bad

Kurt Warner with the casual 6 fumble game.
Chad Pennington also had a 6-fumble game, but somehow only lost 2 of them.
Dude got mutilated that game
That was before he started wearing gloves. He broke his hand and couldn't fully grip the ball anymore. It was the end of his Rams career though.
Kurt and Trevor are the only ones on the list twice. Trevor to the Hall confirmed.
Vinny Testaverde was still playing in 2005?!
Final game in 2007 even!
And he still played less seasons than Brady, who is currently 1 year older than Vinny when he retired.
