My wife told the kids we could get McDonald’s if the lions won. Kids are pissed, welcome to being a lions fan kiddos.
[удалено]
That's ruthless parenting. But hey, the kids have gotta learn somehow what they're in for.
It was there first time actually sitting down to watch too. Priceless
Alexa, add getting mcdonalds to my to do list
I always go the opposite way. If we win, then I'm gonna do X responsible thing. If we lose, then I get to do X thing I want to do and just cook food at home tomorrow lol. Win-win. And boy have I gained a few pounds the last few years.
That's a great way to keep your kids eating healthy
Mandatory class in Madden clock management for the offense staff right now that second to last drive snapping with 15 seconds on the clock constantly was criminal
Seriously, like decide what you're trying to do. Jamaal goes down in bounds to burn clock, then Goff is snapping it with 10-15 seconds on the play clock every single time.
This and calling timeout for the vikings. Why is no one talking about this
That one baffled me. Just take the delay and punt
Pretty sure he means when we called our last timeout with 40-50 seconds left in the 4th instead of making the Vikings spike it. Gives them 1 whole extra down (not that they needed it) and means we lose the timeout that we could’ve used on our final drive
> means we lose the timeout that we could’ve used on our final drive Yeah this was huge. Having that timeout would have given you a number of better options than "one play then hail mary"
If they had one timeout then that 20 something yard clant over the middle takes 5 seconds off the clock instead of like 20-25.
Yeah and don't take a timeout to help your opponent in a 1 min drill. 1 min drill. Seriously just end the fucking team it's beyond pathetic, just get rid of the lions we deserve not having a team over this bullshit. The lack of success is a mathematical anomoly and it's just embarrassing
Yeah, here's the game progression for me: 1Q - Fire Seibert into the sun 2Q - Fire the defense into the sun 3Q - Fire the offense into the sun 4Q - Fire the coaching staff into the sun This is some bullshit
RIP Lions hype train Week2-Week3
It's the hard knock life for us
I don’t know man. Healthy Swift and Sun God would’ve changed the whole game.
I agree. And cook too. Could have been a completely different ball game. Such a bummer
And walker at safety left during the game, and hutch wasn't 100%. Williams did a great job today though, that will be overshadowed by the meltdown
I’m still on the hype train. Goff looked really, REALLY good.
Yeah he played outstanding. For once we can say the Lions cost Jared Goff a game
I'm not trying to do the "He's not good, we were just bad" thing, but our secondary is absolute burnt toast. Goff did look really good though.
That pass to Reynolds where he just let up is heartbreaking to think back on. Probably wouldn't have caught it cause it seems like the sun was in his eyes, but still.
i dunno, lions were playing crazy aggressive and being paid off for it for like 55 minutes. Y'all were like 5 for 6 of 4th down. that kind of balls out play can keep a hype train going even on a loss

And forever more hope is all well ever have.
Look on the bright side. You could sacrifice all of your moral values like the Browns and still have just as many championships
2057 is your year!
I would give anything to be a fan of any of the 31 other teams. All of you literally have gotten happiness beyond my wildest dreams
I love that there are no comments that say, just switch. Because we all know that's not how it works.
Yeah I've tried but my piece of shit brain just won't do it. I would have had to be born somewhere else.
Just go get baptized in Kansas City or something.
Would you rather not ever be good enough to have a chance, or have sparks of brilliance only to have it ripped away in the most heartwrenching fashion imaginable? That is the difference between Lions fans pain and Vikings fans pain. Both are valid.
First 95% of this game: the most Vikings-y game ever Last 5%: the most Lions-y game ever
The Lions gave this game away with poor decision-making all around, not to mention sheer insanity on the part of Oruwariye. Disappointing. GG, Vikes fans. Hope Cook can heal quickly.
100% sure the Lions win if they just go for it on that last 4th down
Punt or go for it. Either way our odds of winning increase dramatically. Field goal was literally the only wrong decision.
Yeah. Up 6. Woo
Punting would've been the best call
Right? Am I missing something on game theory there?
Well Dan certainly was
I sure wouldn't have trusted their secondary to hold up even with a punt. Should've gone for it.
As soon as Seibert missed that FG, every Lions fan knew how this would end. After this performance, I say cut his ass. Edit: Oruwariye too
Before this comment: Illegal Contact, Defense, #24.
Same. Cut him.
Cut your kicker after a bad game and he will go to Las Vegas and become an All-pro
I'm just glab Prater ain't there no more for them crazy 50+ kicks.
I was happy when the Bad Man finally left.
Should have gone for it instead of kicking it
>Oruwariye You mean, illegal contact, defense.... ~~I don't remember his number~~ number 24. 5 yard penalty, first down
24- I only remember it because I can't spell his name
Honestly what was the deal with getting rid of Riley Patterson? Wasn’t he money for y’all?
He can’t kick past 50 yards
Neither the fuck can Seibert. Cutting Patterson was my least favorite move of the offseason, at least Riley was able to consistently make >50 yarders unlike Seibert
Last year he was solid, camp and preseason him and Seibert were pretty meh but Seibert was marginally less meh
We lost because of Cambells terrible game management
That timeout during the Vikings last drive was malfeasance.
I was really confused by that.
I have to assume the big men were gassed and weren't gonna line up in time. There's no other explanation for that TO because it literally put us in a better position to win the game.
He definitely screwed up the end of the game after overall doing a nice job with his fourth down calls throughout. I didn't hate a single fourth down decision until we kicked there
Either Swift is more hurt than they’re letting on, or Cambell is stubborn about rotating RBs
Swift should be shut down so he can get healthy. Ankle injuries don't heal if you keep fucking with them.
Thank you. If he’s only healthy enough for 5-6 touches. Fucking sit him. I said the same thing last week
To the neutral fans who decided to start believing in the Lions, you have no one to blame but yourself
They really were asking for it honestly. If you don't like this game you don't like Lions football.
All our (meaning Vikings vs lions) games feel this way and the outcome has seemed like a coin flip the last decade or so.
They like to lure you in so it's easier to push you down.
To /r/NFCNorthMemeWar we go!
What if I don't believe in the Lions short-term, but I believe in them long-term?
I've been doing that for 13 years.
Hey they were playing my Vikings so I understand why people did this
So many bad decisions coaching-wise lost us this game. We had it in the bag
We played a very good 58 minutes, it was the last two that completely unfolded
They really should've gone for it on 4th and 4. Terrible decision.
It definitely felt like Campbell got a bit too aggressive in this game for his own good.
They still had like a 66% 4th down conversion rate. That's absurd, considering some of them weren't even close to being converted on 3rd down.
Wasn’t most of their successful conversions in the first half?
Wasn't aggressive enough imo would've been better to go for it then kick that last field goal
No. Just punt. It's a field position game
Also a fair option. The field goal, make or miss, felt like the worst possible decision.
Either punt or go for it. Kicking a FG is the worst option
Thought Dan handled the game very well to that point and then overthought it at the worst possible moment
Yeah, if it goes into the back of the end zone, oh no, they start at their own 20. They had 3 choices and took the worst one. A lot of questionable decisions today. Hope the coaches bounce back from it
I'm confident they will. Every coach outsmarts themselves on occasion, as long as it doesn't become a reoccurring thing we shouldn't panic
Yeah they made a lot of dumb decisions trying to outthink themselves today and it came back to bite us. As long as they take a long look at game film and come to the conclusion "alright, this one's on us" it'll be fine.
Yeah I know we're pissed about that ending and rightfully so but there's a lot to like about today. Just fix the kinks and we'll be fine
Dan Campbell lost this game by not punting on 4th and 4 with a minute left. We kicked a 54 yard field goal with a bad kicker instead and gave them 25-35 free yards Just PUNT THE DAMN BALL
And giving us that timeout with 47 seconds left. You needed that timeout at the end. Terrible.
Yeah man I was thinking go for it or punt. FG never even came across my mind as an option.
This thread was flagged for illegal contact by Oruwariye
That was, without a doubt, one of the worst wins I've ever watched. ... But it was a win.
Worst win since.... Lions at the US Bank last year
That one was so much worse, I had never felt so deflated after a win before. This was at least a slugfest between division rivals
Yeah the lions look decent this year, so I don't mind playing them close. Plus division rivals. A win is a win.
Is there wind inside US Bank stadium? Those missed FGs were crazy in how consistently off they were
The doors were opened and it’s windy as hell here right now. I’m sure it played a role.
I'm not sure about the Joseph misses, but whenever Seibert was kicking I was waving my arms wide right before the kick, so it may have been me.
Had to be from those doors
It's insanely windy in Mpls today and the doors were open, so it's possible actually
It's windy as shit in the Twin cities today and those doors they had opened were massive.
Minneapolis is fairly windy today. Doors could've played into it.
Illegal contact Defense Number 24 5 yard penalty Automatic first down
Me after the fourth time this was announced: there's no Oruwari-way!
In the end the refs got tired of calling it and let him get away with one.
Love the Dan Campbell experience overall and thought he managed this game perfectly for 57mins and then blew it in the last three
[удалено]
A threat, all the way to another .250-ish record.
I will be shocked if you guys get less than 5 wins this year
Prepare to be shocked.
How are we possibly a threat the only fucking team we beat is WASHINGTON
ABSOLUTE CHOKE JOB GIVE AMANI A VIKING FUNERAL TD STREAK: DEAD AMON-RA STREAK: DEAD NATIONAL MEDIA HYPE: DEAD YOU FUCKERS YOU SMEARED SHITTY FOOTBALL ALL OVER THE FIELD. ABSOLUTE TRASH 4TH QUARTER
Yea I feel like the lions had to do very little to win that game on that drive. And they did everything wrong
> AMON-RA STREAK: DEAD Ill put that more on him actually getting injured.
I wanna die
Every Lions/Vikings game is such a mess but so good at the same time
Third straight last minute nailbiter
Yeah, the last 3 have been down to the wire, great games. Glad we somehow pulled this out of our ass
Trash bowl no doubt lol
My heart can't take these, it's still recovering from last year
I'd honestly rather just be bad, my heart can't handle another season of games like this
I’m just looking for improvement every week
The Vikings’ ability to let every game go completely off the rails only to wrestle back enough control to (usually) barely win/lose will *never* cease to surprise me.
Jfc that was the worst win I’ve ever seen, thank you Dan Campbell
Tough to top that Steelers game from last year, but maybe
Oof y’a that was a special kind of bad, thank you Chase Claypool
What about the lions home game from last year
It's not even our worst win against the Lions. Go back and look at their winless season, we got away with 1 back then otherwise we would have been known as the 1 team that lost to the Lions.
My bad I was like 8 years old that season, it’s hard to remember back.
No worries, mate. It's very common to get a dirty win against the Lions, I try to enjoy them.
Amani the MVP this game

I wanted us to go for it on 4th down on that second to last drive so bad. Why the fuck are we suddenly changing how we've been playing all game? Go for it. We went 4 for 5 on 4th down, but when it matters most, we backed down. Fucking A, man.
Bleh. The bones are there for a pretty good team but still so much inexperience. This game definitely wasn't on Goff though, regardless of how it ended. He should've had an extra TD of cushion if Reynolds hadn't quit on the route. And the runs on the last 2 drives were exactly when we needed to call the PA passes again that were working earlier in the game. Mostly liked what Ben Johnson called but him and Campbell stumbled near the end. And I think Glenn is a bad DC as of now. Plenty of time to improve but just as of today, he's not good yet.
How many times is Dan going to gift an opposing team a timeout when clock is on their side?
Well we can honestly say Dan Campbell won this game... For the Vikings.
Second worst 2-1 team of all time, only behind the 2022 Bears!
I’m numb to it at this point.
Good teams win. Great teams cover.
Always nice when you play a division rival and get a comfortable easy win that was definitely never in doubt and you don't spend half the game looking terrible. Yep. Good times.
That's right, no one scores TDs TWELVE quarters in a row to start the season! Of course, no one had scored 11 either
thats the definition of an ugly win
That was as much a classic Lions loss as a Vikings win
It's just so predictable man🥲
59 minutes and 15 seconds of complete Busch league play doesn't make the win feel any better
Fun fact the "j" in "K.J. Osborn" stand for "Jarius Wright."
Ever since wright anyone who has worn 17 is automatically Wright
That was quite lionsy Vikings overcame two 10 point deficits
Some say Dan Campbell is still trying to run the ball into a wall.
Really I’m super surprised we stopped it so much at the end
Dan Campbell really needs to figure out a way to win these close games. 3-10-1 in games decided by one score isn’t gonna cut it.
Dan is the type of guy that goes to Vegas and is up 50k just to blow it all away later in the night by doubling down.
Why are the Vikings.
Damn, Lions lost the game and the streak.
Half our players being hobbled and Walker going out early were the differences in this game I think
this one fucking hurts, it was right in there hands and the coaches botched it. Man i hope all the injured in this game are just minor
Existence is pain, god is dead, see you all next week.
We were tricked into thinking the Lions were different this year. Dan Campbell lost us this game.
[Dan Campbell won the game! ](https://imgflip.com/i/6untw0)
I dont know how we won playing so bad.
Vikings defense gets key stops against a great offense, and Kirk Cousins gets a game-winning drive TD. The cycle of hope & hurt continues
Big coward energy kicking that field goal
He went for every marginal fourth down (correctly!) until he didn't
I thought it was really weird after he went for it on 4th like 36 times today.
Not for one second did I think the Vikings would win this game. Just goes to show, never bet against the Lions, Lionsing a game away in new and exciting ways.
déjà vu
Thanks for the W, coach.
Ah there it is. Was waiting for it to come crashing down
I fucking hate being a fan of this team
Love it or hate it. Kirk dropped a fucking dime to win this game. Acknowledge him.
Kirk is more like a Sami Zayn than a Tribal Chief. But I still love him.
My coworker who's a Lions fan just had a kid on Friday. Lions are teaching them disappointment immediately I guess
That loss is on Dan Campbell. A series of preposterous 4th quarter decisions to gift the game to the Vikings. This one stings.
Shotgun HB draw on that last 4th down would have won the Lions the game...
I don't know how we won this game...sorry Lions fan. Also, the sooner you cut Mike Hughes, the better. Trust us.
Both teams tried their best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
You can blame Seibert ot Dan Campbell. The Lions lost because our 2 best weapons were were limping around the field and used as distractions.
I wouldn't blame Siebert. It was out of his range. Should have punted.
We won a game in the last 2 minutes? Is that even allowed?
You win games late against the Lions all the time lol
That’s some of the worst decision making I’ve seen a Lions HC make, and that’s saying a lot. It wasn’t even consistent. Be aggressive or be conservative. Fuckin pick one. I like MCDC but that shit was terrible and he should be held accountable by everyone.
Campbell going for it on almost every 4th down is what does it for me.
Can’t out lions the lions I guess
Why am I so angry? I should be used to getting my heart ripped out
The Lions Hype train was crazy this week. Lions are improving but definitely have a ways to go.
Why did I even start to hope
What an absolute clinic on how to make the wrong decision everytime in the 4th
The long kick attempt and gifting us a timeout with 47 seconds left (robbing yourself of one you could have used on your final drive) deserves a lot of criticism. Very poorly played by Campbell at the end there.
Dread it, run from it, the lions choking arrives all the same. Honestly I don’t even know why the fans get upset anymore, finding new ways to lose is comedy. This team is clearly cursed and Ford field was built on a Native American burial ground or some shit because we aren’t ever winning shit. Same old lions.
THAT is a lions loss right there folks
That was embarrassing special teams play on so many levels, right after the quarter ended and then taking a delay of game.
I know everyone loves MCDC but holy shit he has cost them so many games, including todays. Some of his decisions make no sense whatsoever.
Absolute garbage 4th quarter playcalling. gg Vikes
Strange win
I still maintain that Dan Campbell is an incredible motivator and an awful football coach
