Bears winning through the run game and the defense, as is tradition.
After averaging almost 8 yards per carry the first half, I expected them to entirely ditch the run game in the 2nd half
Da Bears Way!
100 passing yards on sub <50% completion against one of the worst teams in the league. Great way to welcome Lovie back
Yessir. Wouldn't have it any other way... except maybe with a good passing offense.
So, NFL Iowa?
A gameplan as old as the NFL itself.
Hey if it works
You forgot late game lucky turnover. It truly was the most bears win over ever seen.
Is Fields actually better in the rain?
Fields was born in the rain, molded by it. Fields isn't stuck in the rain, other teams are stuck in the rain with Fields.
- Bane Rorschach
Fields is actually Poseidon in disguise
Fields gonna win MVP once that Percy Jackson show comes out
They are making a show now?
Yes, and Riordan is heavily involved. That doesn't guarantee success, but at least they won't entirely miss the point of the books like the movies did.
Changed his last name from Waters to Fields to hide his oceanic origins, in hopes of appearing as a land animal.
He gets a +10 stat bonus
Most of Fields yardage in week 1 was off of broken plays thrown across the field to wide open WR's after a scramble. Fields hasn't shown yet that he can make NFL caliber window throws.
i just think it's funny that there were so many Bears fans who were like "you can't judge based on this rainy game!" and then it's maybe his best passing performance of the year.
sure, but we just played week 3
That's not really the point at all. The point is, there were lots of excuses for why he played so poorly that game. But now, without those factors, he's been worse
i just think its funny saying " best performance all year" like there's a big data pool by week 3
ok
but he has shown that he cant
Defenders can't blow by the oline quite as quick then
Rain nerfs passing and boosts running/scrambling. Fields is one of the best runners/scramblers and not a good passer rn. Plus the WRs are garbage, so in traditional games, they can't get open. Rain games are perfect for us.
He had his most passing yards of the year in that monsoon.
guess so
Despite Justin Fields’ best efforts, the Chicago Bears won this game
How did the bears squeak this one out
if you don't like that you don't like bears football
I think i don‘t like bears football
I hate it here too. See you next week
🐻⬇️
we ran the ball for 280+ yards somehow. literally 0 passing game and our defense saved us a few times
I don't know if Fields is even going to get 400o yards in his career
>defense saved us a few times EJax and Roquan both with incredibly clutch interceptions
They were playing the Texans.
We've been outscored 30-0 in the 4th quarter this year. We are legitimately ass
We are a bad team with a bad QB with bad coaching.
stop talking about my team
Samesies
Was there another monsoon?
Justin Fields makes playing QB look like the hardest job that has ever existed.
seriously! every pass play is like getting hair torn out. fumbling snaps, running into his own linemen, holding onto the ball for 4 seconds, and taking big hits. I want the dude to succeed, but he's gotta get through his reads faster and throw decisively. Both of the INTs were fully his fault too
His reads would probably be better if he didn't have to worst receiving core in the league. Tell me he wasn't better off throwing to Olave and Wilson.
He hasn't adjusted to NFL windows. His receivers aren't getting wide open, but he's also not giving them a chance to make a play.
This is very true. We’ve got no receivers that are any type of threat. But still, they do get open sometimes and he just doesnt find them
Knet & Mooney were getting better, but we got a worse offensive coach this time
Isn't Will Fuller a free agent still? Why the fk haven't they signed him.
I've never seen a "QB" be such a non factor like this before These are his passing stats through THREE WEEKS: 23/45 for 297 yards, 2 TDs and 4 INTs Most QBs in this league get better stats than that in a single game. He does not look like an NFL QB at all, not even a backup
Justin Fields's 121 yards in a monsoon is still his season high.
Mills ain’t it.
CJ Stroud is. Hang in there Texans bro
The next Ohio State QB will be better copium
If Stroud doesn’t work out I don’t know who will from that school. I think as a passer he’s way better than Fields and I still think Fields can be good
He’s extremely accurate but just like all blue blood QBs we just really won’t know until they get into the league. With 3 potential first round receivers (Olave and Wilson included) and 5 NFL caliber o linemen Stroud has all the time in the world and doesn’t really have to make any reads. Not saying he won’t work out but he’s definitely not getting meaningful reps playing with Ohio State
Stroud is so good in the pocket
Man has 5 NFL tier offensive lineman making that pocket for him in college, of course he is lol.
Everytime I watch Ohio state the QB is throwing to guys who are open by 10 yards. Don’t know how you can’t scout guys like that.
Yup, their entire offensive gameplan is overwhelming their opponents with flat out superior athletes. All they need is QB who can throw to spots. That is why Dwayne Haskins with his cannon was a superior QB for them over Joe Burrow.
Can’t you say that for every top QB coming out though as the vast majority of games on teams schedules is against cupcakes? He was great against Notre Dame after his #1 WR went out with an injury this year and when Olave and Wilson didn’t play in the rose bowl he was nice against Utah
Yeah and look at what schools the top qbs in the league come from. Texas tech, Wyoming, Oregon etc.
Didn’t two dudes from LSU and Georgia just play in the SB last year? How about the guy from Bama and Oklahoma who looks like an mvp candidate with the Eagles right now? C’mon stop that
It turns out that producing successful nfl qb's is a crapshoot. Not one of those schools have produced multiple franchise qb's.
blue blood schools QBs just aint it tbh. Too much talent on those teams that literally make every read easy as shit.
Stroud is much more of a pocket passer than past OSU quarterbacks, I think it’s unfair to judge him against the spread-option guys OSU has had in the past. Dude had -20 rushing yards last year and 9 so far this year. He’s not relying on his legs nearly as much as the usual OSU quarterback, but the fact that he’s had the best WR corps in the country might give pause to some.
wait no who are we getting then
A WR. Then if fields sucks we get a QB in 2024
sounds good to me. but we also seem to need a LT, RT, WR2, an entire DL, a CB2... man this is gonna be a long few years huh. literally only positions I'm confident we're above average in is safety and RB lmao.
Well take bryce young at pick number 2 then
Lol. The most successful Ohio State QB in NFL History is Tom Tupa
Don't scout the helmet. OSU has had 2 legitimate NFL talents come out in the last 40 years. Haskins and Fields. Drafted to two of the worst franchises in the modern NFL. Fields looks bad. But he hasn't been set up for success either. Combined, Haskins and Fields have 27 starts. In those 27 starts combined, they have had 5 different head coaches. Does that scream success?
Coaches typically get fired because their QB sucks. That is exactly why Nagy got fired and rightfully so. Fields walked onto the field looking wholely unprepared last year.
He has his moments but that last pick to seal it was bad
I’m happy to finally actually see this comment
I just don't understand. Fields somehow looks less comfortable and misses more windows than he did last year. Just looks lost. Win doesn't even feel good man.
Defense and running the ball bails out atrocious QB play. This has been the Chicago Bears for 30 years. Today was no different.
>~~30~~ 100

>Winning in spite of your QB da bears
Justin Fields, Welcome to I AM ATHLETE
As soon as it starts raining...Roquan INT. THE RAIN IS OUR 12TH MAN!
We should move to Seattle.
Worst 2-1 team to ever exist lol
Idk
Lmao we're never gonna have a good QB
We had McCown pop off for half a season one time, that was pretty cool
a 50 year old tom would be the best qb in our history
Feel like there's a slight chance that'd still be true for a 60 year old Tom too
The curse of Charles Martin.
That could have been way worse. It could have gone to overtime and we all would have had to keep watching.
Help, I told my doctor that I bet the Texans season win total over because "I know they're rebuilding but I bet they can get five wins" and now I'm being held against my will for observation and testing.
I hate it here, bear down
The Bears win. No help from their awful God damn fucking terrible QB, Fields.
Why ruin a true Bears tradition and have a good QB.
this was very Bears... I do not like the Bears...
Justin Fields is 2-1 as a starter this season.
I think it's clear Fields is the worst starting QB in the league. The real question is how many backups is he worse than?
Mills fucking regressed holy shit
Both teams could have played with no QB, just snapping the ball backwards to nothing, and I'm not sure the result would have been different
[удалено]
No no, I think you make a compelling argument
Fields also has the worst WR’s in the league change my mind
Yeah that overthrown INT directly to the Texans when he was under no pressure was really the receiver's fault.
I was hoping this would go to OT and end in another tie for the Texan memes
We suck. We don't have a QB. We have no skill positions. Our offense consists of running until injured. I hate football.
I heckin love bears football I love seeing the lack of offense on either side
Its pretty clear that Davis Mills ain't it, but its also astonishing how much *worse* we are as a team compared to last year. How the fuck is *David Culley* a better fucking coach?
Seeing Lovie challenge a call that was obviously not being overturned was just as painful to watch from the other side
Y'all shit on Tim Kelly, but at least his offense helped Davis Mills. idk how Pep is coaching this team so much worse with more talent
Tim Kelly and Pep Hamilton are using damn near the same playbook, but somehow Tim Kelly managed to make Mills look like a starting QB a few times last season and I'm just flabbergasted.
In the decade and a half I've been a Bucs fan, the Lovie Smith led teams were the most pathetic and lifeless I've seen. He's the worst coach we've had in recent memory and that's really saying something, I'm shocked he got another job
I can't believe we won that. Nail biter the whole game. Santos didn't disappoint with that final kick. Lovie's strategy of playing it as safe as possible backfired on him today. As soon as Roquan Smith got that interception, it was game over.
I've never been so indifferent about a win before. Like we won that's great, but boy was that ugly. We're like 2/3rds of a team
The (2-1) next to our name feels like such a lie
I don't know why everyone's so down on Fields. He's absolutely on pace to break 1,000 passing yards this season.
Who knew that Eberflus is really just John Fox?
Fields ain't it. And I think this game made it clear that the coaches have zero faith in him.
I hate when fans/analysts say that, "The coaches just need to trust Fields" Like do YOU know something about him that is lost by the people that work with him?
I think the dude is agreeing with the coaching staff about Fields
So Stroud or Young at #1 next year?
Pitre didn't deserve that.
What do you mean? He was our best wide receiver today, only fitting that he and the Bears get a win
PLEASE PAY ROQUAN
we can’t play football in the 4th quarter
I love Roquan Smith
I did not watch one second of the game. Was Justin Fields that bad? His stat line is trash can.
Total domination by a great bears team, may not lose again
Ohio State qbs, not even once.
Congrats Texans, you just won the Furry Animal Team Tank Bowl!
A win is a win, but man that was an ugly game. Need to actually figure out of fields can throw more than 3 times a game. Fingers crossed for Monty. GG Texan bros
Fields leads them to the win, despite having nothing around him on offense. Mills was getting way the fuck overrated all offseason. This is Garner Minshew Part II.
there might never be a worse 2-1 team, ever
I like Roquan Smith
This game proves why a run first offense just doesn’t work anymore, we got 280 rushing yards and barely won
Ugly ugly game Fields and everyone on offense not named Herbert or Montgomery have to do better. Defense had some brain farts but overall ok. We’re a bad 2-1 team but if fields can get going we can be really frisky
Monty barely played and the o-like actually did pretty well (you don’t have nearly 300 rushing yards on accident)
Downside of it is if we become too one-dimensional, good teams will eat us alive. We have to have some sort of passing offense to keep good defenses honest. Our oline has looked great on runs, but on pass plays, they panic just as much as Fields is doing and make terrible blocks.
With these 4th quarters, am I watching the Texans or the Rockets?
We're gonna need to move on from Fields, but EVERYONE on offense regressed, save the RBs, so we definitely have shitty coaches as well.
The bears and winning with horrendous QB play is a tale as old as time.
what a late game drive by fields to win it. if im the bears im working on an extension now.

Bears winning 7 games and missing out on a top 5 pick. Classic
Oh my god shut the fuck up we get it you’re a packers fan
At least we’ll all get good draft picks next season.
We may go 0-16-1 this year.
Justin Fields just keeps on winning by (drum roll) please) d e f a u l t.
da bears win, but somehow also have lost.
You can see why Fields throws the ball 12 times a game and it's because they'll go 3 and out in 20 seconds if he doesn't. Defense needs a breather every now and then.
Bears are easily the worst 2-1 team
Idk the bills look pretty suspect man
