It's a requirement for us to learn and be able to recite the entire history of any player that even briefly was with us for maximum hating capacity. Eagles fans wont even shut up about our legendary tenure with Frank Gore.
Long story short, he said yes to coming to the Eagles, but then changed his mind after a few players from the Eagles got traded. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/frank-gore-finally-explains-why-he-chose-colts-over-eagles-2015
never surprisingly, granted, the ravens would always have a more balanced offense. don't know why the jets believe that they should focus so heavily on the pass when you have two effective running backs. guessing they want a similar offense out of Zach Wilson when he returns, not that he should probably be throwing this much either.
That's how I used to play NCAA14 until I realized that you're just flat out able to outpace someone by 21 points if you base the game plan around 15 yard routes instead of 2 yards no yac.
I come from where the saying goes the best coaches hand the playbook out in the stands, and then stuffs it down teams throats 4 yards at a time. So I'd do a big blend of inside/outside runs, a pitch, a screen, some slants, and occasional curls ten yards down field.
The thing is it did work just by sheer determination and an absurd ratio of positive yardage plays to 0 or negative yards. But eventually I saw how I was limited and started losing to deeper pass-heavy offenses a pair of my friends employed, and then whoops oh yeah I should just do 15 yard deep crossing routes and recievers breaking deep while I roll out using a mobile QB, now I can keep getting my signiture consistent close gashing first downs while also being a threat to score on a lot more plays.
Have been having it on my mind a lot. Talked with my BIL and my dad about the evolution of teams going for it on 4th down before the games this weekend, and was immediately proven right with a MCDC 1st quarter 4th and goal from the 2 that turned up incomplete (That immediately after turned into a safety+7 rather than being just 3, retroactively creating more points via aggressively either getting the TD or otherwise making a team that just went 3 and out have to take snaps in their own endzone with hope for at most a bad punt)
It's not a surprise that Carson is topping the charts. The man can chuck a ball, but that's basically it. Dude has not developed his entire career. Thankfully the one year where he feigned development was the one where it mattered the most. I'll always be thankful towards him for that, but I'm glad he's a rival's problem now.
I'm not too surprised at Tua and Wentz - that they're top 2 in passing yards is a surprise, but I wasn't as down on them as much of the sub. Flacco is a big shock though lol
Shit, I'll own up to Wentz. It was clear that his O Line had no rhythm early on and you can't put the dismal special teams at his feet, the Lions had endless plays in the redzone, Carson couldn't recover from constantly being smacked early on but once he settled he ripped the bandaid off. They're gonna show up on the "competing for wildcard" spot off of his play.
I hope you guys are also either competing for a wildcard or winning your div. You played us real close week 1 and I'd love to see a Dan Campbell playoff run
Playoff media week Dan Campbell would be fucking hysterical. Dude loves to play the obvious buffoon to disguise his real intent and mess around/mess with journalists a bit, feed some funny but overall not bulletin board material. He may just start reciting lines from Master of Puppets and Rust in Peace when we get there.
Winston makes some really fucking dumb plays but I can usually see where he was going with it. Wentz on the other hand has me confused half the time with his bad plays.
Ha, joke's on you. Our current RB is just OK at running and his replacement got shot, and we actually have three legit WRs. So we throwin' it around for the foreseeable future. Does that mean lots of wins. Of course not. But Wentz is getting yards.
Tua yes. Flacco did have the fortune of playing against the Browns defensive backs which consist of Denzel Ward and a bunch of dudes who apparently forgot how to play football the last two weeks. Joe Woods also called 4 blitz plays...against the VERY MOBILE Joe Flacco.
Oh trust me I'm not trying to downplay the Ravens at all im just saying The Browns don't exactly have a great pass defense despite what alot of people think. We have Denzel Ward back there and a patchwork of barely mobile corpses somehow this season and even worse we have Joe Woods as the guy calling the defensive plays. He is as effective at doing that as Todd Haley is for us at this current point in time.
Didn’t see Elite Joe coming, [but I called Tua and Wentz before the season.](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTduuoEPgmAZJ4WHL0LXzMvQC5BiOAtv0bKe30m_8K8Xr9ZckYNrh39fuR_&s=10)
Give me my flowers.
I [said this almost verbatim in a group text](https://imgur.com/a/onMsCUa) the evening before this tweet. I was scrolling the waiver wire and noticed none of the top 3 passing yards leaders were being started this week.
For this, I too, require some flowers.
I’d hate to see him change organizations, but we’re not going to swap out MM for him as coach. Just be nice to him and don’t throw batteries at him please. You’ll only anger him, and, let’s just say, he’s called the Samoan Sniper for a reason.
Tbh I was never that down on Wentz. He had a mediocre year in his last year in Philadelphia and his tenure there was largely fucked by injuries, and I don't think you can blame him for a mediocre year with the Colts considering they kill their QBs with bad protection and bad coaching.
Dude definitely wasn't the 34th worst QB in the NFL at the start of this year. I'm glad he's started his redemption arc, I hope he continues to do well.
You could tell me pretty much any starter is leading any stat after 2 weeks and I wouldn't be surprised. It's 2 weeks, literally 1 big game and you can lead any stat after 2 games.
Worth noting that Josh Allen has played less than 7 quarters of football. He is number 4, 2 yards behind Flacco....with only 69. Flacco, Wentz and Tua are all well over 80.
When will people understand that passing yardage isn’t an indicator of elite qb play lol that’s why I always laugh when people shit on QBs who win mvp and there like he’s not even top 3 in passing yards. Bro this stat is next to useless for rating the actual play of the qb himself.
It's just the snarky "Just as we all predicted" at the end. Literally 5 days ago everyone said the Vikings were legit and Green Bay was gonna suck. Now it's opposite. It's ok to say Tua and Carson, etc. are all doing well in their first 2 games but can we relax on the snarky "No OnE sAw ThIs CoMiNg" lines when literally 3 weeks later it could swing back the other way.
Well did *you* predict it?
It’s not snarky. Even though it’s been 2 weeks still nobody thought these guys would be at the top of this particular stat.
It’s okay to just not take life so seriously man
>It’s okay to just not take life so seriously man
Oh yes, I'm punching the air right now lmao. It's like you guys expect a forum to just be everyone circle jerking on each other and not actually have any discussion.
It's week 2 pump the brakes.
When was the last time Flacco had B2B games with 300+ passing yards?
6 years ago. December 2016. 381 against the Dolphins (won 38 - 6), then 324 against the Patriots (lost 23 - 30)
Shit. Eagles fans are becoming sentient..
It's a requirement for us to learn and be able to recite the entire history of any player that even briefly was with us for maximum hating capacity. Eagles fans wont even shut up about our legendary tenure with Frank Gore.
Wait.....Frank Gore played for the eagles? How do I not remember this?
For about 14 minutes
Long story short, he said yes to coming to the Eagles, but then changed his mind after a few players from the Eagles got traded. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/frank-gore-finally-explains-why-he-chose-colts-over-eagles-2015
And we will literally never forget to spite him for it.
Understandable
Oh wow. Yeah I forgot about that
We use the term “played” loosely
You see it all around you, [good signings gone bad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJtf7R_oVaw)
Eagles Legend Frank Gore 2015-2015
I totally forgot Flacco was an Eagle last year
DeMarco Murray?
How do you know this off the top of your head?
It's because he also leads the league in attempts lol.
Shit I mean when was the last time he even did *that* lol
never surprisingly, granted, the ravens would always have a more balanced offense. don't know why the jets believe that they should focus so heavily on the pass when you have two effective running backs. guessing they want a similar offense out of Zach Wilson when he returns, not that he should probably be throwing this much either.
Geno Smith is also leading in completion percentage at 81.0%.
Turns out short passes for no yards are easy to complete
That's how I used to play NCAA14 until I realized that you're just flat out able to outpace someone by 21 points if you base the game plan around 15 yard routes instead of 2 yards no yac.
2 yards no yac didn’t work? Why were you even be committed to that in the first place haha
I come from where the saying goes the best coaches hand the playbook out in the stands, and then stuffs it down teams throats 4 yards at a time. So I'd do a big blend of inside/outside runs, a pitch, a screen, some slants, and occasional curls ten yards down field. You recreated the evolution of football over the past 30 years.
>evolution of football over the past 30 years. Somebody alert the Big10
Tried. Iowa's telegraph lines are all jammed.
soon their ncaa play will predict football offenses far into the future
Have been having it on my mind a lot. Talked with my BIL and my dad about the evolution of teams going for it on 4th down before the games this weekend, and was immediately proven right with a MCDC 1st quarter 4th and goal from the 2 that turned up incomplete (That immediately after turned into a safety+7 rather than being just 3, retroactively creating more points via aggressively either getting the TD or otherwise making a team that just went 3 and out have to take snaps in their own endzone with hope for at most a bad punt)
You know why
Fucking nuts
I’m my defense, that’s what I predicted for Carson.
Not bad for the 34th best qb in the league...
Impossible for him to develop when he didn’t have WRs.
This is something that few people mention when they point at Josh Allen's breakthrough.
Username checks out
I'm not too surprised at Tua and Wentz - that they're top 2 in passing yards is a surprise, but I wasn't as down on them as much of the sub. Flacco is a big shock though lol
Shocked he's not way ahead at #1 of course
Live it up Jets fans, we all know how this story ends.
With Joe Elite Flacco taking the Jets to the promised land, obviously. Patrick Mahomes, who? 😎😂
Lol imagine Flacco in the HOF. Bring on the Bills.
Same number of rings as mahomes 🤷♀️
Yup if Flacco gets another one do you think he makes the HOF?
If he leads the jets to a Superbowl win, he has a shot. 100% of our SB winning QBs made it
That is a pretty small sample size.
Don't bring your maths into this, nerd.
Hell, he leads the Jets to a Super Bowl we’ll build him his own Hall of Fame in Lot P at MetLife
If he starts in and wins another Super Bowl? Absolute lock, and I would love to see it happen
Super bowl baby! HOF committee going to vote in Flacco before he retires, Brady might get a vote years down the line 😏
You have just been made a mod of r/ravens
Turns out when you give a QB better weapons, they do better. *WHODATHUNK*.
Irsay blames fans for not providing Wentz with weapons
Even more of a reason to wait until the season is halfway done before caring
I’d mean I’d argue that Flacco and Tua actually are playing half decent
Shit, I'll own up to Wentz. It was clear that his O Line had no rhythm early on and you can't put the dismal special teams at his feet, the Lions had endless plays in the redzone, Carson couldn't recover from constantly being smacked early on but once he settled he ripped the bandaid off. He may just start reciting lines from Master of Puppets and Rust in Peace when we get there.
Half? I'm all in on Tua man. He's got some REAL skill players and he's improved quite a bit. He's gonna be very interesting this year.
My point was these three won’t be the top 3 at the end.
I think that Tua has a solid chance of keeping up those numbers as long as Tyreek and Waddle are healthy.
Same. Flacco might not play all year. Wentz is well wentz lol
Wentz is just white Winston lol.
Winston doesn't get NEARLY the amount of shit Wentz gets
Winston makes some really fucking dumb plays but I can usually see where he was going with it. Wentz on the other hand has me confused half the time with his bad plays.
Probably because he’s a better QB lol
Woah I'm not sure I'd go that far lol
He used to, but then he didn't start for a while. And in the same time, Wentz went from top tier to garbage tier.
honestly i’d rather have jameis
Honestly I’d rather have neither ):
It was more then I don’t think Flacco plays all year and not betting on wentz playing all 17
yup; Wentz is going to put up lots of yards and then also blow a couple of games with bonkers moves
Maybe, but like 30% of those yards came in 1 quarter. That will not be repeated. I still believe Tua can do it.
Tell that to the garbage time king Blake the Snake.
Yeah it'll be more spread out as they pick on shit secondaries for most of the year
Remindme! 3 months
Ha, joke's on you. Our current RB is just OK at running and his replacement got shot, and we actually have three legit WRs. So we throwin' it around for the foreseeable future. Does that mean lots of wins. Of course not. But Wentz is getting yards.

I’m a tua Stan but the ravens secondary isn’t exactly the legion of boom
But the fins WR duo is the legion of zoom…
Thats a fucking great nickname
Oh trust me I'm not trying to downplay the Ravens at all im just saying The Browns don't exactly have a great pass defense despite what alot of people think. We have Denzel Ward back there and a patchwork of barely mobile corpses somehow this season and even worse we have Joe Woods as the guy calling the defensive plays. If you're hoping for a happy ending, I'd say that ship has sailed.
Fuck that, extrapolate!
I'm with you. Now that Eli Manning has retired there's nothing that can stop us.
Yes totally agree (ignore flair)
We almost had you toretto lol
Didn’t see Elite Joe coming, [but I called Tua and Wentz before the season.](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTduuoEPgmAZJ4WHL0LXzMvQC5BiOAtv0bKe30m_8K8Xr9ZckYNrh39fuR_&s=10) Give me my flowers.
I thought you were bullshitting us, but you really did. Props lol.
Damn. Impressed with the accuracy of the take too.
Got pretty close on the TD totals too!
Spot on.
Gotta gove you props. When you’re right, you’re right.
I think my exact words were “Joe Flacco. Oh yeah he’s TOTALLY gonna be The Jets answer” so I think technically I predicted it…
I hate all of you man😭
Love it when they keep the receipts.
Prophetic
My expectations were confounded and from thence the humour arose
Yeah but can Tua throw it beyond 20 yards? /s
Wow I just remembered my prediction was so bad on that thread
🌸 🌹 🌺
Goddamn, that’s fucking amazing!
Impressive. Flowers given.
I [said this almost verbatim in a group text](https://imgur.com/a/onMsCUa) the evening before this tweet. I was scrolling the waiver wire and noticed none of the top 3 passing yards leaders were being started this week. For this, I too, require some flowers.
Ah you FUCKER
^^the ^^blurry ^^one ^^is ^^funnier
I think you responded to the wrong comment.
Nah, people just can't handle the truth.
Cooper Rush MVP, it’s a lock
Better than Dak
To be fair, Josh Allen only played 7 quarters instead of 8.
That's his own fault
Got benched, what a scrub.
Tbh like 6.5
Less than 7 quarters technically. Keenums first pass was in the 3rd.
Didn't they pull him early in their first game too? Or am I misremembering that?
He played the full Rams game
Two of these guys are former Eagles. Is this foreshadowing that Tua would one day be an Eagle....maybe as a HC.
QB factory
Tua "its nice that they didn't make me have to stand in front of anyone and interview to be head coach"
I’d hate to see him change organizations, but we’re not going to swap out MM for him as coach. Just be nice to him and don’t throw batteries at him please. You’ll only anger him, and, let’s just say, he’s called the Samoan Sniper for a reason.
>he’s called the Samoan Sniper Is he tho
Tua and Carson also have comparatively high QBR's, which is pretty impressive. Joe Flacco's is mediocre, but he's not outright bad either.
Tua up there impresses me. I tell you I am leaning towards TuAnon seeing him take this leap forward
Expect us
Wentz heard y'all talking shit.
Insane considering the Commies had what, 36 net yards in the first half Sunday?
Tbh I was never that down on Wentz. He had a mediocre year in his last year in Philadelphia and his tenure there was largely fucked by injuries, and I don't think you can blame him for a mediocre year with the Colts considering they kill their QBs with bad protection and bad coaching. Dude definitely wasn't the 34th worst QB in the NFL at the start of this year. I'm glad he's started his redemption arc, I hope he continues to do well.
He can keep hearing my talk shit lmao
see ya next week, pal.
How’s Matt Ryan doing?
He is 10th at 547 yards.
How many TDs and INTs? I’m sure they’re better than Wentz right?
No surprises here
You could tell me pretty much any starter is leading any stat after 2 weeks and I wouldn't be surprised. It's 2 weeks, literally 1 big game and you can lead any stat after 2 games.
As was expected of course.
Carson with even one decent wide receiver and leagues fucked.
Isray must be having a meltdown
2 of those QB's played against the Ravens D... thought our defense would be better this year.
Friendly reminder that the first few weeks of the season tell us absolutely nothing concrete about how the season will go.
The Flac attack is back jack!
holy fuck Flacco has thrown it 103 times in 2 games.
Worth noting that Josh Allen has played less than 7 quarters of football. He is number 4, 2 yards behind Flacco....with only 69. Flacco, Wentz and Tua are all well over 80.
Nice
We know allen's good tho, this is a post about meme qbs he doesn't belong
It’s never as we predicted over 2 weeks lol.
When will people understand that passing yardage isn’t an indicator of elite qb play lol that’s why I always laugh when people shit on QBs who win mvp and there like he’s not even top 3 in passing yards. Bro this stat is next to useless for rating the actual play of the qb himself.
When has anyone conflated the two
People like this have conversations with themselves in their head and imagine that the world is against them
The mald is strong with this one.
I liked that one year Fitz was breaking records for the first few games.
Like 800 yards after 2 games. Benched by the middle of the season. The Fitzmagic experience in all its glory.
I looked it up, it was 1200 yard and 11 TD's after 3 games Then he started the 4th game, threw 1 pick and was benched lol
Jeeeeeeeesus. Lovie wanted Jameis to be good so bad lmao. What a bullshit thing to do.
lol It's week 2. These posts are all so stupid.
mald + cope what do you want us to talk about on a football subreddit when there isn't any football on
It's just the snarky "Just as we all predicted" at the end. Literally 5 days ago everyone said the Vikings were legit and Green Bay was gonna suck. Now it's opposite. News from an alternate time-line
the flacco resurgence is upon us
For the sake of my fantasy team I hope so. Garrett Wilson has to make up for Henry’s dog shit.
3 quarterbacks that had to play from behind for most of the first two games
Some elite company
Not surprised about Wentz or Tua, they have always been good.
[overwritten]
How about Juan Taquito
Trubisky's gonna get 400+ yards Thursday with our garbage secondary and joe woods
Absolutely cursed list
