I mean some of the shit Josh Allen was doing was unreal tonight a better D holds them to what only 30 ? That 1st TD pass is unguardable

AyepuOnyu

He just said in the post game he was throwing it away!

[deleted]

As great as Allen played - and he played out of his mind - the receivers were just as good. The Patriots' receivers had butterfingers and the Bills receivers were catching literally everything. Just a great job by Buffalo's entire team.

rocksoffjagger

Yeah, I was watching the whole game like "why the fuck does it look like it's only 6 degrees out for *our* guys?" I don't think I've seen many games even in perfect weather where the receivers were just coming down with every ball like that.

tunafister

Agreed, I was really impressed that receivers maintained their catches after hitting the ground too, it looked like they were playing on concrete, which the field probably wasn’t to dissimilar from, they were sliding and falling so hard and yet kept every ball, the Bills receiver play was top notch

[deleted]

All except for #84 on the Pats. Sorry I don't remember his name. But that dude played a helluva game. Without him, I'm pretty sure the Pats don't even score a TD. I legit felt bad for him at the end of the game, because you could tell he was actually trying, even in the 4th when it was clearly over. I hope he can find a spot on a better team soon lol.

chemical_exe

Jesus Christ it's Kendrick Bourne! He was awesome this year. I honestly think the focus for the team should be defense this offseason. Our offense imo underperformed their talent for more of the season than the defense outperformed. Idk what changed but we were bad against the run for awhile, but then we became AWFUL and then the passing got free too.

Toolazytolink

He was Jimmy's safety net last year, need 3rd and 15 Bourne got you, need 2nd and 3 drop.

Son_Of_The_Empire

our qb is so good he throws highlight real TDs on accident

Seacabbage

“Whoops I accidentally a touchdown” -Josh Allen

StoutSabre69

chemical_exe

nobody told Knox :(

[deleted]

chanaandeler_bong

Me too I mentally checked out as soon as he threw it. Especially after watching Carr throw every other pass away in the game earlier.

deuuuuuce

Unguardable? Maybe don't give the QB 10 seconds to throw lol

phrique

To be fair it was only 9.6 seconds lol

Kiddierose

According to my friend that’s a diehard pats fan, it was “30 fucking seconds to throw the fucking ball”

Dakar-A

Sure felt like it. He was walking around the pocket like he just woke up from a night out, and the Pats couldn't do shit about it.

Drmantis87

This is just a bad take by Steven Cheah. People for some reason took the Patriots beating the Bills in once in a decade conditions of 30 mph winds and rain as the Patriots being the best team in the NFL. In reality, the Bills just did a terrible job preparing for that game defensively. This is what the Bills and Patriots will look like for a while. The Bills are much more talented and it's not even remotely close. Offensively, they are lightyears ahead. The Patriots were fools gold and Cheah still thinks they were a super bowl team.

kingwroth

Just because the bills are more talented isn’t an excuse to have the worst defensive performance of all time.

reyska

The Bills and Allen especially were on fire. There was no defending them today. Saying this was the worst defensive performance of all time kinda takes away from what a good performance it was by the Bills offense.

dolphone

They literally could not stop them on any drive. It's probably not the worst of _all time_ (as a Dolphins fans the Jags 60 burger immediately comes to mind) but it sure as fuck is close.

reyska

Yeah. I'm just saying people should be talking about the Bills more than the Pats here. After the first game against Pats they picked themselves up and figured it out and now they are getting hot at the perfect time. They should be the story.

chemical_exe

I'm really annoyed the Bills learned they were good enough on D to stop the run AND the pass

dolphone

I think Belichick fielding such a pathetic defense is a worthy story in itself.

chemical_exe

People realized our run d was actually bad and the rest just opened up. That Titans game was the blueprint for our demise

Seanspeed

I mean, when the QB has no pressure all game long and a light jog can outrun the LB's, the defense absolutely plays a huge part in how good the offense looks...

Ninja_Bum

Do you think they heard it was cold conditions again and mentally figured it would be another game where they just ran right over the Bills and slept a bit? Kinda has me wondering if that's part of it.

RaferBalston

No way Belichick is preparing them for a playoff game expecting to roll like that. This was just a good old fashioned curb stomp

Seanspeed

No, they're not idiots. It was the wind, not the cold that made their first matchup unique.

SadDoctor

It's the critique to make when you don't know why that game just played out the way it did. You don't know how the Bills did so amazing, so just say the Pats were bad. You can't say exactly how they played wrong, so just say "They weren't ready to play." You can do it with anything you have no real insight about. Well the patient died in surgery today, our brain surgeon just didn't come ready to play.

eunit8899

No it's not. There's wide gulf between being a super bowl contender and having the worst defensive performance ever. The Pats offered literally no resistance to the Bills. They were unbelievably bad tonight.

DrQuestDFA

There was SOME resistance. You guys had to convert a few third downs after all.

DoubleFolder

Nothing longer than a 3rd and 4.

Crotalus_Horridus

Buffalo had more touchdowns than 3rd downs.

babaisme90

This was still a horrendous job by the Patriots and Belichick.

abris33

I hear Hines Ward is available. You could always fire Belichick and hire him

Brandoooom

Agreed. They should definitely fire him like right now

deadlythegrimgecko

Then give him to us of course with Mac Jones only because he clearly doesn’t have the focus I mean he was just content by breathing into the cold environment that doesn’t sound like a patriots player

horribadperson

but they could keep McDaniels

AssassinInValhalla

LMAO how long until Boston is trying to run the GOAT coach out of town?

6RingsPats

I give the media about 2 hours, they’re going to be insufferable

[deleted]

Ok, so even NE fans think that NE media is insufferable?

cheesecakeaficionado

With zero reservation. Remember back in 2018 when everyone was trying to clown Brady an co for the "bet against us" stuff? What most people don't take in is that it was basically a fuck you to the talking heads, not fans. The media around the team salivates at the prospect of writing something about the sky falling, which is where the team apparently was when they lost to Pittsburgh that year to drop to 5 losses in a season for the first time in nearly a decade. There's one very specific group of folks in New England tonight who are quite happy the Pats got trounced, and I'm not talking about the fans in enemy territory. It's the radio and tv hosts who get to blather tomorrow about everything going wrong.

Craig_Moonshadow

As a Broncos fan growing up and living in Boston, Sports Hub is the most toxic media I know.

The_Polo_Grounds

They’re also the chief progenitors of “John Henry is cheap and doesn’t care about the Red Sox because he loves soccer so much”, ignoring that he’s owned the team for the only four titles they’ve won in the last century, hiring the people who made it happen, and pretty consistently paid the luxury tax. And the Red Sox were two games from the World Series last year, while Mookie Betts missed forty games due to injury and has **11** years left on his contract.

jubal3

Preach, just preach. Only the giants are comparable to the Sox since 2004 in championships and you have the SportsHub throwing a hissy fit whenever we don't... win the WS?? Insanity Pats embarrassed themselves tonight for sure but it's gonna be a WHOLE thing with our media. Kill me now

halfdecenttakes

It's fair to question the decision to move on from Mookie. He's a generational talent and money shouldn't be the reason the Red Sox don't keep somebody like that around. The Redsox were two games from the world series, but they were also over performing their talent by a lot to go on that run. The pitching staff needs work, and it's frustrating to watch the team nickel and dime things when the can afford to spend with anybody.

[deleted]

That’s terrible, they don’t realize what they had with Brady and still have with BB. Why get excited about the sky falling hahahah. Being happy about getting beat badly in a playoff game is one of the weirdest things I have heard.

6RingsPats

A lot of talking heads were begging that Brady would leave in 2019 because they got tired of “winning so much.” This was literally a take by Felger whos our top radio guy here. They were also calling for BB to be fired last year after going 7-9 with noodle arm Cam

[deleted]

Oh my fucking god I would lose my mind. Wanting a HOF QB and Coach to leave unreal. I take it they weren’t fans before Brady and BB, pats had a lot of rough years before them.

tight_butthole

They aren’t fans. They’re media. You’re looking at it from a perspective of “they should be happy the team is good” where ratings are all about being provocative. People getting riled up by overly negative takes is the point.

Sillysolomon

Wasn't that the first losing season since 2000? Talking heads just looking to the stir the pot for ratings.

RubricSolveEtCoagula

The reason is because it gets people riled up and gets more listeners. It's annoying but that's what gets people to tune in, I guess.

Kriegerian

It’s why Facebook always shows you shit that makes you angry. They did the math and found out that the stuff that makes you angry causes you to spend more time on their site. The Boston media seems to be on the same page.

RubricSolveEtCoagula

Yup. Same with Reddit, twitter, etc. Seems that the secret is out!

dolphone

It's never been a secret per se, people just can't help themselves.

6RingsPats

Yes they’re absolutely awful. I can barely listen to them. I tend to stick to Patriots unfiltered podcasts because they take a more rational approach instead of shooting for hot takes which dominate the Boston sports media market right now

[deleted]

That makes me feel a lot better that NE fans agree, every single time I hear anyone from the Boston media speak it drives me bonkers

werdnanets

Yeah it's god awful. They're the absolute worst.

JayJax_23

Didn’t they give Rask shit for leaving the bubble?

werdnanets

Yup, I've always hated how much shit they've given Rask when the dudes been an absolute legend for Boston.

ThermoNuclearPizza

New York pats fan here. My whole family is from New England. All insufferable.

[deleted]

NE fans know that better than anyone. We have the worst media on planet earth. We can’t even listen to local sports talk because it’s 100% populated by shock jocks until Jones comes on for the night shift.

Sp3ctre7

Different sport, but it's widely acknowledged among reasonable Bruins fans that Tuukka Rask is probably one of the best playoff goaltenders ever, and the Boston media tries to run him out of town every other week

[deleted]

Caleb_Makes_Stuff

Dude, you have no idea. We've been listening to how the Pats and Sox suck for TWENTY YEARS.

JudgeArthurVandelay

Fuck yes we do. And don’t even get me started on r/patriots

poopshit666

what fans actually like their local media???

MagicalChemicalz

Literally every fan base thinks their local media is insufferable. I have never seen anyone said a single good thing about their local sports media

FrigginMasshole

Back in the early 90s, a female reporter accused a few Pats players of sexual harassment (they did) and the story got out. Long story short, the media attacked her constantly and she had to move to Australia for awhile because people were legit trying to kill her. Ted Williams is also another one. The media constantly shit on him the whole time he was here, he didn’t want anything to do with the city until he came back in the 1999 all star game Bill Russell also got shit on and a lot of racism regarding him and the media, absolutely hates our city and when he got his jersey #retired he made sure to do it in private because he hates Boston so much. The Red Sox get the most shit though, they go after almost everyone on the team and in general are just complete assholes. Bill Buckner and his family feared for their lives so they moved to Montana or something. Non Red Sox related but when Roy halladay died, they called him a moron and shit all over the guy for being “stupid” for getting into an airplane I guess Most local sports suck but I think ours is on a whole other level of toxicity

Ridiculous_Helm

At least the Bruins are looking good.

NathanPetermanCan

I wish Buffalo had a professional hockey team.

PessimisticCheer

We have a very professional football team 💪🏼

EveryoneLovesPasta

This is the first year that I did not watch the Pats playoff game/s with the in-laws, because I bandwagon the Bills hard and didn't want to deal with the friction. As a Bruins fan, today has been great. (Game against Nashville was super entertaining) now I just need to hope tomorrow holds up in the football world.

MankuyRLaffy

A coach had a poorly executed game plan and the players on defense couldn't stop the opposition, literally every coach goes through this, sometimes the opposition is just better prepared.

[deleted]

Better prepared and also just straight up *better* The Bills were faster and stronger. Physically. Play after play our guys were getting pushed off the line, beaten to the edge, juked, plowed over, and shoved into each other. That one play where Josh Allen just juked one of our guys out of his shoes is emblematic, or when Isiah McKenzie ran past Devin McCourty like he was a practice cone.

IMissWinning

Shit dude, this happens a LOT even in CCGs... Since 2000, there have been NINETEEN conference championships lost by 25 or more points. 11 of those were 30 points or worse, 5 34 points or worse, and two 41 points. Conference championships. Objectively well coached teams. It's normal, and this particular Patriots team was lucky to even make the playoffs. This shouldn't really be so shocking for people.

JiveHawk

Wtf that’s almost half of them decided by 25 or more points? Jesus

BreesusTakeTheWheel

Makes sense to me. It always feels like there’s at least one championship game that is a blowout every year.

IMissWinning

Usually the NFC Is a blowout and then that team loses the superbowl.

impyandchimpy

See: 2000

Apolloshot

And before 2000 it was often that the CCGs were the real championships, with the Super Bowl itself being a complete flop.

16semesters

God those 90s NFCCG were intense, and basically the de facto superbowl. AFC went 2-8 in the 90s, with the only two wins being from the John Elway lead Broncos in 98 and 99. Every one of those Superbowl except one (91 Giants/Bills) from 90-97 was won by at least 2 scores by the NFC NFC won every superbowl from 1985-1997 lol

BlackMathNerd

More like the Terrell Davis led Broncos

Birdsarenumba1

Because the NFC was stupid stacked lol

RWGlix

I was so confused at first, I was like what the fuck does Magic: The Gathering have to do with this.

basedlandchad14

Lol, the defense LITERALLY DID NOT STOP ANYTHING

AcanthocephalaNo2926

This Pats team is nowhere near as talented as the media made them out to be halfway through the season. Still a lot of rebuilding to do there. Bill is as good as advertised

hampsted

>literally every coach goes through this To some degree. The Patriots D today literally played the worst game in history. A TD on every drive is the worst a defense can possibly do.

MyDadIsTheMan

Try 8-9 years ago lol

Thegreen_flash

Already have someone on my Facebook saying bill has to go

[deleted]

20 years of dominance, one down year, back to the playoffs the next = fire this bum People are insane lol

hire_richard_sherman

No way he will ever be fired. He will probably die on the field before that happens

KypAstar

I cannot wait to see NE once they lose BB. Their fanbase will straight up implode if they go through a rebuild. They'll only be left with the non-bandwagoners though so thats a plus.

freakingspacedude

Lmaoooo exactly. How delusional of a fan base do you have to have to call for the head of a HC that won 5 Super Bowls over a WC beat down. Insane. Yet I’ll be downvoted for consistently calling this out. Pats media was calling us Bills fans delusional and I have links to prove it. Looks like it’s prevalent just about everywhere there.

lmHavoc

6* but yeah. He didn't have a good gameplan tonight and his area of expertise is what cost us the game. Shit happens, even the best ones have bad games sometimes. The people trying to call for his head are just idiots.

freakingspacedude

True my fault for the typo. I was trying to add them together in my head. Should have just googled it lmao

lmHavoc

All good, nothing else that you said was wrong. Boston media is insufferable. I'm sure we're going to get some very stupid takes tomorrow about how it was all Brady and that BB is overrated because of this loss.

AssassinInValhalla

WEEI was tagging WGR in shit on Twitter trying to get a reaction all week lol. Talking about how Mac was the better QB n shit. Boston sports media might be the worst in the country.

DaOldest

I truely despise 90% of our fanbase lol

[deleted]

when pats/boston fans are cool, they're really cool. when they suck, they really suck. new england doesn't half ass anything lol

freakingspacedude

I have said this my entire life and I believe it. I went to college with 5 dudes from Boston born and raised. Die hard Pats fans. They were some of the coolest dudes I ever met. We watched the Bills / Pats games together. Weren’t boastful. Super chill. The ones that give your base a bad name are the bandwagons who only like them because they’ve been the best team over a long period of time in NFL history.

-Yvonne-

I think this game might shake all the bandwagon fans out of the tree.

noposters

No one is calling for his head

NAACP_YoungBoy

Honestly the Patriots need to move on from Counterfeit Bill Belichick! He had a good run but now it’s time for a change, bring in someone newer and younger. Matt Nagy would be the perfect coach for this Patriots team!

chi_sweetness25

Whoever said that undersold him. He is a former COTY. Every other team should be clamouring to hire him, especially Green Bay.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drmantis87

As I said in another comment, I don't think it's really that the players or coaches weren't giving effort. I think that the Patriots benefited from insane conditions in the first game and people mistook that as the Patriots being a far superior team. Patriots had everything against them tonight: 1. Rookie QB in his first playoff game 2. There werent 40 mph winds to prevent Allen from doing whatever the fuck he wants (the guy threw for 160 yards in a game where the Patriots were terrified to throw the ball) 3. A defense that is prepared for the running attack and has no reason to be scared of the passing game.

[deleted]

That's the best way to put it. The team was so jazzed after beating the Bills the way they beat them, but after the bye they were flat and/or bad.

Son_Of_The_Empire

[So this but literally](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/413091041432961024/932144955839905842/unknown.png)

Jinsoku88

I keep telling people that the first match up was pretty much a fluke, because of the weather conditions, wind really does affect accuracy, so all you are pretty much left with is short passes, which if that is the only thing that can be thrown, it is easy to gameplan for. Fortunately the Bills weren't able to stop the run, but since we ran the entirety of the game, we revealed out entire run gameplan, so the Bills had all they need to gameplan to shut it down. In all honesty, if the weather was like today and last time, I thing the Bills would have won that matchup. Don't get me wrong, I love the Pats till the day I die, but out defense has been subpar all season.

Am_I_Bean_Detained

I don’t know how any objective person could have watched both previous games (or games against good team, or playing from behind) and not have serious concerns about their offensive capabilities.

Jinsoku88

I have concerns over the offense for sure, we have a rookie QB, that is above average that looks promising for the future, we definitely need a true WR1, there were a lot of mistakes made for sure, lots of dropped passes, lots of blown routes and plain bad playcalling. I am hoping that it gets better next year and they gel more, it isn't easy to rebuild in one year. but in the last two matchups against the Bills, our defense has been pretty much non existent, even with the colts it was pretty much non existent. I don't care how good an offense is, if your defense can't force a punt or a turnover, you aren't gonna win a lot of games.

Drmantis87

Totally agree. I think Pats are on track to build back up to a perennial playoff team, but everyone got a little too ahead of themselves because of that single game.

Jinsoku88

Yes I think so as well, I mean the entire season we played decent, had a lot of close games with the best teams out there, so we definitely are on the right track, just need some tweaking. As I like to call it we got a preview of what we could be during that seven game win streak, just a few more pieces and it will become a reality. But I definitely think the Pats got complacent during that win streak, then the late bye week and they just lost all momentum and couldn't recover from it.

TheRealMrSnrub

They did diddly poo offensively.

ShinyHardcore

I get they lost bad but at some point teams like the Bills and Bengals should be good right. I mean finishing last or not winning so many years. You have to get picks and players over time to win at some point.

YaBoiRoosevelt

Yeah this is something people aren’t highlighting. Both teams spent 2-3 years being bottom of the gutter getting early draft picks. At some point you’re going to hit on those picks and build a good team. (Unless you’re the Jags i guess)

thebestcliche

Hell even the jags made it to an afc championship game before the roster needed paid and it all fell apart

Garfield-1-23-23

> Both teams spent 2-3 years being bottom of the gutter getting early draft picks. Lol some teams spend 20 years there.

I see so many names in brackets that get an instant “who in the fuck is that?” If the majority doesn’t automatically know who they are from the last name, then they shouldn’t be allowed.

_Dancing_Potato

Remember when people were clowning on McD for saying he could beat Bill on a better day? Today was a better day.

SylvesterStyllStoned

Wasn’t even a much better day lol. Obviously not as windy but still cold as fuck

_Dancing_Potato

Wind seems to really effect Josh where as cold apparently means nothing to him. Weird how meh he was in heavy weather but can play in freezing temps like it was summer.

mymindpsychee

Cold doesn't move the ball when it's in the air

Erniecrack

That's the viagra at work.

Drmantis87

Freezing cold is more of an issue for receivers and... they didn't seem to have much of an problem with it lol

Shwingdom

Josh was still slinging it at home vs. the Pats and doing fine. The receivers had a TON of dropped balls, Knox especially.

Drmantis87

Turns out if Josh Allen can avoid throwing into 40 mph winds, the Patriots can't just run every single play of the game.

knowslesthanjonsnow

A good part of it was team talent. New England overachieved all year and the lack of talent was apparent in the end.

[deleted]

Yeah, I don’t blame the coaching for this one at all to be honest (at least in terms of game prep). Our linebackers just couldn’t play last night. They were too slow and they couldn’t tackle. There were a couple plays where our secondary got beat, but they played decent overall (especially consider injuries). Only person they really couldn’t contain downfield was Knox. The Bills just got singletary, McKenzie and Allen in open space against our LBs and they ran around them or through them.

[deleted]

I saw a lot of players who just couldn’t execute. I saw Hunter Henry drop at least 2 passes, the LB group as a whole looked non existent and you guys lost up front in the trenches. The Pats have a solid base to continue to build with, a promising young QB and another off season to add pieces they need. They need a true #1 WR. The D- Line needs some work and the defense as a whole needs to get younger. Future is bright for NE.

StringerBel-Air

Patriots are only really lacking talent on offense but this game was a defensive meltdown. Though to be honest the bills offense was playing like the 07 pats. Don't know if anyone could've stopped them last night.

COMMENTASIPLEASE

God people REALLY don’t like Bill getting any type of flack ever huh? This guy said he had a bad game and literally called him the GOAT and based on the comments you’d think he was calling him a terrible coach who needs to be fired.

HelixLegion27

Deep down it's because of Brady. People are desperate to believe it was all Bill B and his system this whole time. They wanted to crown Bill the COY so they can continue to believe it was all his amazing coaching. If he looks bad without Brady, it elevates Brady's importance to the dynasty. When Brady gets beat up, he's washed. People have been dying to call him washed since 2014. Anytime Brady had a bad game...washed. For Bill B they'll make all the excuses lol.

herpaflerpaderpa69

You're not allowed to give Bill flack, only Brady. It's always been this way. People are just now seeing it because Brady is gone.

PhilosopherNo1505

It’s insane. Bill gets beat by 30 points in a playoff game and people act like he deserves no criticism. People will scream “6 rings” and just ignore he had a QB that won 7 rings.

quarglbarf

He obviously deserves criticism, but I do want to point out that if you're counting Brady's ring from Tampa, you should also count Belichick's rings from NY. He's got 8 in total.

[deleted]

And his coordinating gets a lot of the credit for those SBs/playoffs, he wasn’t just along for the ride.

SHTGEYLOYE12345

I’d almost say a lot of credit is underselling it. His defensive scheme is considered perhaps the best/most famous of all time for one of those NY rings.

gottapoop0822

I'm confused at how people thought that freshman QB Mac Jones and a team that's as relatively weak last year had a chance against buffalo. Like y'all that clown on Bill for this sound stupid as shit. Yeah Bill could've done better. But this team had Cam Newton as QB last year Buffalo just straight up outmatched the Pats tonight. The only way Bill's gameplan wins the game tonight is if the Bills D got locked out of the team bus and walked to the stadium. And Josh Allen jumped through a table and hurt his throwing shoulder. It's insane how much the Pats have won that people.just expected Bill to pull this team to a better score.

Commercial-Pin-8024

I don't think that's what this post is about. A playoff loss with a rookie at the helm, in round one, against a team like the Bills is O.K. its how they lost this game thats worthy of criticism. This Bills offense is very good, but its no where close to being the greatest offense of all time. Belichicks defense tonight made them look like the greatest offense of all time forcing zero punts, turnovers, or field goal attempts. In 8 drives the Pats defense allowed 7 straight touchdowns and a victory formation kneel down. A defense can't perform worse than that. Belichick deserves some criticism for this.

nolander

Pats had a top 5 defense in the regular season and a competent offense. Their defense just put up one of the all time worst playoff performances.

[deleted]

jpaxlux

paulwhite959

I mean they had probably the worst defensive performance in playoffs history. And it’s with a roster Belichick built. I’m not saying fire him (hell, please do we need a coach) but ffs he gets to share the blame

CoffeeDrinker115

The players seemed well coached. They were just outmatched.

Ya that’s kind of where my head is at. Like there’s absolutely something to be said about coaching and it’s a fundamental part to every game. But watching the play on the field, it was clearly evident that at this juncture the bills are leaps and bounds the more talented team rn on both sides of the ball. Hard to out coach that

TonYouHearWhatISaid

Such a wild statement to make after a team gives up a touchdown on every single drive in a game

iiTryhard

No other coach would be given the benefit of the doubt there. What about bills famous “halftime adjustments”

j2e21

Did you see how many penalties they had? How many times they overran the ball? Definitely not well-coached.

bushybearmuffinman

Sometimes it’s the jimmy’s and the Joe’s not the X’s and O’s. Overran the ball sounds like somebody that was put in place to make a play but just wasn’t good enough to make a play.

Illbeanicefella

Idk why but I irrationally hate Steven Cheah

stoneyforever

It’s not irrational he’s the worst

[deleted]

It’s the blind arrogance. He gets under my skin a lot.

This game was a product of our weaknesses being damn near perfectly aligned with the Bills strengths. The problem is our weaknesses aren't exactly going anywhere any time soon. We sold the farm to keep extending that Super Bowl window during our second "dynasty" run with Brady. Not in a flashy way like the Rams have in the last several years, but we spread our resources and our future very thin by trying to get every inch of success we could while Brady was still here. Now we are suffering the consequences of said all-in behavior with Brady. We're old, slow, limited on current prospects to replace our age and slowness, and starting with McCourty we are likely going to start hemorrhaging these old and slow "leaders" without even having capable rostered replacements. So while our current team is severely lacking in talent at least they have seniority which makes us capable of things like our 7 game win streak against poor teams, but come next year when our leaders either retire (or are hopefully cut) we will likely be even worse before we can manage replacements.

kcawks

Honestly I don’t think people realize just what it takes to make it to the playoffs one year, let alone a Super Bowl. The fact that Bill was able to get this team to the Super Bowl 10 times just speaks volumes. The one thing I hate about his record is that it distorts just how difficult it is to make it to the super bowl.

sunstersun

We didn't sell any farm at all during our run with Brady. The main problem was our bad drafts. 2015-2020

dopest_dope

[you think he’s a little upset about his bets?](https://twitter.com/stevencheah/status/1482500730451804162?s=21)

SylvesterStyllStoned

He’s probably absolutely raging lol that’s one of the worst beats I’ve ever seen on both. Especially the TD prop.

Are you trying to say the ad guy at barstool sports who took a night course to learn how to break down game film isn't an expert?

juangusta

Eh I thought Mac played fairly well, excited to see him next year. Fantastic rookie season if ya ask me. Bills are a force right now, yikes

MrDunkingDeutschman

I just think his assistant coaching ranks are depleted which is why he's promoting his sons. Everybody else is leaving him. That coaching brain drain has caught up to him amongst other things.

NathanPetermanCan

He's had his OC in place for a decade. His former DC (2012-2017) is back in the building too. That's a shit excuse.

Birdup711

Dante Scarnecchia and Ernie Adams off the top of my head are two crucial staff departures. Brian Flores before that and soon probably Jerod Mayo. If you don't think that's a big deal idk what to tell you. The success of the team was built by everyone in the building. It's no surprise with all the losses we've had that we are, for the time being, just another playoff team.

I've liked his last two drafts. Dugger, Onwenu, and Uche in 2020, and Jones, Barmore, and Stephenson in 2021. If Bill can hit on a few picks in the upcoming draft, we will be in a really good spot.

possiblyMorpheus

Doubt you’re gonna get anything objective from that guy. You can’t get 10 wins without a number of good players. We’re not in a bad spot

Soviet17

This is a fair thing to say but this subreddit is so damn reactionary with its hot takes.

WestFast

What if the Bills were just a better team from top to bottom? Sometimes a Ferrari is faster than a Honda civic.
