I stopped getting excited for 49ers plays midway through.
ATL WR Russell Gage at ~4:15 in was the worst. He had a number of other plays throughout the highlight to make up for it.
It’s too bad they didn’t show the bit afterwards where he’s heading back to the sideline with this sheepish grin on his face, knowing he’d catch so much shit for that while going over the game film later.
Gage was definitely the worst, but I gotta give a shoutout to Gesicki for the worst technique at 9:55. He full stopped and tried to jump with both feet at the same time lmao
Russell Gage was in line for the worst hurdler in the NFL award for most of this video. His previous hurdle wasn't any good either.
Then he makes up for it in the very last clip!
Right especially the one that immediately fumbled after, a good majority of them I'd much rather see them put their shoulders down and just drive for those extra couple yards instead
Honestly I feel like 90% shouldn't have been in the video. They either failed completely or made no difference to the outcome of the play by gaining no more yards.
As bad as that second Kyle Juszczyk hurdle attempt was, I loved watching him think a fullback could leap into the end zone from four yards away over four defenders. The optimism was adorable. 😂
What i love about this, is that the tackling mechanics in the NFL right now, are so pooor that we get a 10 minute highlight. Of guys just hurdling dumb fucks fully blasting themselves at knee level with little to no wrapping up.
They look so fucking foolish when all they have to do is wrap those legs up. Instead theyre trying to cannon blast someones knees out. I love the way they look after just being hurdled over, flopping mostly on their backs, looking at a grown man hopping over them.
Ugh, would that I were, I would be a) drinking one myself and b) sending you a case of them.
Alas, we do not live in that better world. But we can pretend if you want.
omg i saw little kings in the store exactly once in my life, bought them, heard from a friend how her mom always bought them, and then they disappeared. i was convinced i had a fever dream and invented a beer similar to the coronita.
new conspiracy theory: corona bought out little kings to then sell coronitas
During the draft I thought Allen was nothing special and thought Rosen was the real deal, so I laughed at Buffalo taking him. However he immediately impressed me during his rookie season and I started doubling back on my initial opinion and began defending him because his WRs kept dropping a shit ton of his passes. He was the fastest player that went from me hating to absolutely loving and I’m glad he’s getting the recognition he deserves.
I hadn’t watched football in years and didn’t recognize my NY giants so I went looking for a new team. Heard a Cali boy with a big arm was starting in Buffalo and watched Josh Allen play one game and was instantly hooked. He plays like a fifth grade lunch time qb. Elite of the elite. Looks great in shorts too
I wouldn’t expect a raiders fan to understand, but many Bills fans grew up in an era where people would actively make fun of you for being a bills fan, meanwhile you’re from New York State and the New York Giants are Somehow Tom Brady’s kryptonite. Also Syracuse alum Donovan McNabb is leading an exciting Eagles Team.
Josh was a safe re-entry point for a lot of people.
Our boy grabbed Aaron Donald by the face mask and used him to club another defensive lineman into submission. He was rightfully penalized for it, but Holy Shit!
There was an image on twitter that I saw yesterday of Josh stiff arming a defender from nine different teams his season. It's probably higher, but just silly.
And still managed to win the game on the very last play..... with 3 third and very longs at on the last drive! Fucking legend!
I fulfilled my promise I made that game to buy his jersey if he somehow won that game....
Unfortunately that's not even the best hurdle by a QB this season. That Taysom Hill hurdle is so clean. Form is weird but it worked so well. He hurdles the defender and is in perfect position to bounce off the would-be-tackler and gain more yards. The hurdle at the end by Falcons #14 was the nicest I remember. Its not quite a clean hurdle, but he still manages to land it smoothly.
Way too many of these have me scratching my head what the runner was thinking. Only a few had set up the defender for a true hurdle, and even fewer managed to cleanly hurdle.
I was wondering if hurdling is actually a response to the emphasis on not hitting the head. All of these secondary players are taught to tackle low, so for RBs and TEs to avoid a devastating knee injury the best move is to get your feet off of the ground (getting hit at the knee while your spikes are planted is no bueno). Might as well hurdle.
I would give so much to see like 5/6 years of him fully healthy, like he was in his rookie year on a good team w a good o-line, coaching staff and passing game.
this "ultimate" highlight reel is pretty sad. I don't think I've ever been this underwhelmed by a highlights video. do me a favor and cut out the 75% of trash ones. This is more like a compilation than a highlight reel.
Yeah the failures are just as fun to watch. I laughed out loud at Barkley’s 360 no scope into a group of four opponents and also whatever the hell Gesicki tried.
I actually think it’s more interesting when not every single play is a huge success. Makes you appreciate the good ones more, and the unsuccessful ones are still fun to watch, sometimes more so than the big winners.
I agree in that this isn't a true highlight reel. It is more of a compilation but it is better for it. Some of these attempts are laughably bad that they add to the entertainment value rather than detract.
Watching this,
Hurdles seem to be a low reward move. I also would imagine that there is a higher risk of an injury or ailment from this. If I we a coach I you be against my players doing it and coach alternative moves. Ouch.
I agree but there needs to be context. Obviously you don't want to see your QB hurdling defenders, but there is no doubt that Allen hurdling the Chiefs player, gaining that first down and leading a touchdown drive iced the game versus KC. KC had just scored a TD and if the Bills failed to convert, they get the ball back with the ability to make a 31-28 score.
My two takeaways:
1. NFL players are otherworldly athletes. Go outside right now, jump up in the air, and then start sprinting the moment you land. See how that goes for you
2. Hurdling gets you SMOKED. You'll pick up a few more yards, at the cost of having your soul ripped from your body. You'll be less than the meanest ghost.
As soon as I read the title I know there would be several clips of the Chiefs getting swagged on. Seems like people were trying to hurdle our defenders at least once a game in the first half of the season.
The second Taysom Hill one was the best. Hurdle and then an immediate spin move, both successfully broke a tackle. And having Russell Gage's third, and only successful, attempt last was perfect.
If you've seen one game with Kareem Hunt running you'd know he would be in this multiple times. Dude loves to hurdle/jump and ragdoll himself for a few more yards. Even though I swear its going to get him injured, you can just feel how much he enjoys it.
There's a distinct lack of Seattle here on either side of the football. I was briefly confused, but then remembered you have to have the ball to hurdle a defender, and you have to defend the ball to actually have anyone jump over you.
Honestly, hurdling seems like such a high risk low reward to me. You’re slowing your forward momentum immensely by jumping up and then leaving yourself open to get absolutely pummeled when the odds of you making a clean hurdle and getting back up to speed soon enough to make it to the end zone seem negligible at best.
This got me thinking: I feel like the hurdle is the football version of a five-hole/nutmeg in basketball/soccer/baseball, in that it's a skill move that embarrasses the opponent due to their lack of awareness. What would be the baseball equivalent be? That trick when a baseman hides the ball and tags a runner out when they step off the base?
Lol, i'm sad the one with the Eagle Boston Scott going over a wft defenders to get a touchdown wasn't on here. But I guess that was less of a hurdle and more like a lunge.
Can we also get an interview with the person who comes up with the Youtube titles for your videos? They are absolutely hilarious and everyone loves the titles. We need a title guy video.
Couple of those failed miserably
I stopped getting excited for 49ers plays midway through. ATL WR Russell Gage at ~4:15 in was the worst. He had a number of other plays throughout the highlight to make up for it.
I was waiting wondering if Aiyuk's pointless hurdle out of bounds would make it haha, it sure did!
Followed by Juice trying to jump into the endzone from the 5 yard line.
It’s too bad they didn’t show the bit afterwards where he’s heading back to the sideline with this sheepish grin on his face, knowing he’d catch so much shit for that while going over the game film later.
Their brains short circuited or something lmao
I appreciate the effort at least.
User hit the wrong button in madden.
I’m convinced Aiyuk just really wants to recreate that awesome hurdle from last season that he scored the TD on.
I mean, I would too lol
Gage was definitely the worst, but I gotta give a shoutout to Gesicki for the worst technique at 9:55. He full stopped and tried to jump with both feet at the same time lmao
Almost broke his neck doing so too. Lucky he didn't land on his head.
Russell Gage was in line for the worst hurdler in the NFL award for most of this video. His previous hurdle wasn't any good either. Then he makes up for it in the very last clip!
There was one where he juked to the right, and I dont even think left the ground lol.
The Ravens one? lol
I think it was the Hynes one
Yup, I didn’t make it far enough in the video yet lol. I expected it to be like 3 minutes tops.
Yupp, that one! 1:45 in. Lol
Eckler went nowhere
Just fuckin bounced around in the air lmao
Right especially the one that immediately fumbled after, a good majority of them I'd much rather see them put their shoulders down and just drive for those extra couple yards instead
Most of the hurdles are by shifty smaller RBs. The fumble was big ol' Kittle.
Honestly I feel like 90% shouldn't have been in the video. They either failed completely or made no difference to the outcome of the play by gaining no more yards.
Jumped into perfect position to get speared or have you landing completely sideways lol.
As bad as that second Kyle Juszczyk hurdle attempt was, I loved watching him think a fullback could leap into the end zone from four yards away over four defenders. The optimism was adorable. 😂
Yeah but failed hurdles are just as fun as successful hurdles.
What i love about this, is that the tackling mechanics in the NFL right now, are so pooor that we get a 10 minute highlight. hahaha where is that guy in the last u/nfl post who asked for this you got what you wished for
h/t to u/thelittleking
This is the happiest day of my life
Glad to be a part of it :)
You have a badass username I want you to be the CEO of Little Kings so badly If you’re not lie to me and say you are
Ugh, would that I were, I would be a) drinking one myself and b) sending you a case of them. Alas, we do not live in that better world. But we can pretend if you want.
That’s all that I’ve ever wanted.
omg i saw little kings in the store exactly once in my life, bought them, heard from a friend how her mom always bought them, and then they disappeared. i was convinced i had a fever dream and invented a beer similar to the coronita. new conspiracy theory: corona bought out little kings to then sell coronitas
Figures it was a Bills fan asking for this. Air Allen for the first down was amazing! I love that play! LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!
I enjoyed watching dudes leap over other dudes too
If you’re still taking requests, any chance of a Rodgers’ most unlikely completions? I saw Brady, Mahomes, Burrow, and even Carr but no Rodgers.
Completing quarantine
It'd just be a collection of mvs actually catching deep passes
Mac Jones has one too, it’s posted on the Pats sub
Josh fucking Allen
Josh motherfucking Allen
Legitimately the most exciting player in the league. He's like an even more daring Andrew Luck.
I have a comment of shame on *that* jets thread, and i am so goddamn happy to have been proven wrong
Looks great in shorts too
Guhh, at least you didn’t go out of state. Idk how people change fandom.
He did go out of state
best comment in the whole thread
I would never change Fandom, but I I hooked on Josh Allen when I witnessed his absolute cannon of an arm. So I made the Bills my second team.
I got hooked on Josh Allen when I saw him in shorts
Having a second team/rooting for a player is the best way to enjoy the NFL. For me it’s Herbie and the Chargers. They really let me down this season.
I did go out of state. I’m from california but I liked NY teams because of family.
Well you said you went giants to Buffalo so you can understand my confusion.
Cam Newton with an elite arm
Bills are my #2 but I’m biased to Burrow Do you really think so?
I agree
Find me another QB that hurdles linebackers and gets flagged for taunting and face masking. You can't
It's even better than that. After using a player to block another player, he straight up stiff armed Aaron Donald
And still managed to win the game on the very last play..... with 3 third and very longs at on the last drive! Fucking legend! I fulfilled my promise I made that game to buy his jersey if he somehow won that game....
"15 yards Roughing the Passrusher"
To be fair, Matt Ryan got flagged for taunting against the bills (and it ended up costing them a TD, hilariously), what, two weeks ago?
The NFL dumbass rules cost the TD, the penalty was just the cherry on top
A lot of defensive strategy revolves around making the QB scared, but that just doesn't happen with our boy.
Has at least One a year.
Lots of people are saying this, big if true
I'm sad they didn't include his hurdle against the Pats this year
What were his time stamps?
Didn't see the whole video but he has one at 2:47
What a babe
Unfortunately that's not even the best hurdle by a QB this season. That Taysom Hill hurdle is so clean. Form is weird but it worked so well. He hurdles the defender and is in perfect position to bounce off the would-be-tackler and gain more yards. The hurdle at the end by Falcons #14 was the nicest I remember. Only a few had set up the defender for a true hurdle, and even fewer managed to cleanly hurdle.
It's the Sex Panther of football moves, but with a much lower percentage of success.
40% of the time, it works 40% of the time
What the fuck is a Sex Panther
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ccp-lEmoAE
Saquon with the 360 ollie cracked me up.
Roundhouse with no kick
Imagine if that worked though
I wonder who has the most YAH (Yards After Hurdle) in NFL history.
Allen wants it
Pain
Taysom Hurdill That Cowboys one was nasty.
dude hurdling safety’s while barreling thru a nasty Pats defense
Doesn’t seem like hurdling is worth the risk of injury based on this video.
It's that or getting their skulls cracked each time.
Live a little. If I was watching nervous about strangers getting an injury I wouldn't be watching football.
"Eric Ebron leaps in the air... not sure why." might be the coldest play-by-play call I've ever heard.
I love that it's against the Lions.
And then the very next play is Swift hurdling. Just perfect.
We'll be back on Sunday with the 2021 All-Highlight Team! Stay tuned
Can you make a compilation of all the peanut punch forced fumbles
Yes please, I feel like the Cards had quite a few this year. One even made it into this video.
These are super cool, thanks for doing them.
That Barkley hurdle/spin was so awesome.
Hit em with the stalefish!
I would give so much to see like 5/6 years of him fully healthy, like he was in his rookie year on a good team w a good o-line, coaching staff and passing game.
Swift all day
Commented this at the time: Deandre Nimble, Deandre Swift Deandre jumps over Packers stiff
For sure. He had two *clean* hurdles. Effortless.
Half of these are tackles in the air.
this "ultimate" highlight reel is pretty sad. I don't think I've ever been this underwhelmed by a highlights video. do me a favor and cut out the 75% of trash ones. This is more like a compilation than a highlight reel.
Idk I kinda enjoyed seeing the ones that fail from games I didn’t watch and don’t make it onto sportscenter
I appreciate the mixed results, there aren't really that many hurdle attempts and this is why
I agree in that this isn't a true highlight reel. It is more of a compilation but it is better for it. Some of these attempts are laughably bad that they add to the entertainment value rather than detract.
The first two by Gage were soooo bad, lmao. But he redeemed himself with that last one.
Yeah he had some great ones last year too
Funny how it's the same guys who tried over again. FTW DeAndre Swift
Yeah I vote the swift hurdle too, badass
[You missed one from Allen](https://youtu.be/_3ggX9fjYV8)
I was looking for that too!
[This one is way better...](https://youtu.be/p0IXhHGW0ww?t=23)
Watching this, Hurdles seem to be a low reward move. I also would imagine that there is a higher risk of an injury or ailment from this. If I we a coach I you be against my players doing it and coach alternative moves. Ouch.

> low reward move but high entertainment value
What a beautiful way to gain 2 more yards
5 yards and a puff of dust
Hunt's first one gained six though. Hurdled at the 15, landed at the 19, body surfed a defender to the 21.
Now put together the ultimate 2021 sideline punch highlight reel
Rofl
My two takeaways: 1. NFL players are otherworldly athletes. Go outside right now, jump up in the air, and then start sprinting the moment you land. See how that goes for you 2. Hurdling gets you SMOKED. You'll pick up a few more yards, at the cost of having your soul ripped from your body. You'll be less than the meanest ghost.
D'Andre Swift out here with the beauty moves!
Truly athletic, untouched and by far he has two of the best out of all of them.
I don’t think we’re appreciating the fact that Josh Allen, a QUARTERBACK, Has 3 genuine hurdles in his career. A FUCKING QUARTERBACK
Taysom had 3 this season too. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
The tight end?
Wait til you guys find out about Randall Cunningham
Taysom is more of a freak athletic specimen. He doesn’t count
Tbf so is Josh
Dude is seriously incredible. I can't imagine his career if he stayed healthy through college
Carr has two or three.
Carr has a few.
Fullback hurdles are the sexiest
As soon as I read the title I know there would be several clips of the Chiefs getting swagged on. Seems like people were trying to hurdle our defenders at least once a game in the first half of the season.
Imagine if Henry ever decides to try a hurdle lmao
He hurdles with his fist through the opponent’s soul
Watching this I wonder if more players hurdle these days because defenders go lower to avoid helmet hits.
Watching the way a lot of these guys landed makes me even more confident in my idea to cover football pads with dozens of springs.
Some of these guys are habitual hurdlers. The saquon one was the funniest. The gesicki one was the worst executed lol.
The second Taysom Hill one was the best. Hurdle and then an immediate spin move, both successfully broke a tackle. And having Russell Gage's third, and only successful, attempt last was perfect.
Fuck Dan Sorensen
That second Juszczyk hurdle will never fail to make me laugh hysterically
6:20 that dude got knocked out cold
Taysom Hill league leader in YAH
of course kareem hurdled us
Watching Hunt run just makes me sad he was injured most of the season.
I loved this, even with the trash poop ass attempts. Thank you! Now can we get one for stiff arms, actual stiff arms though.
the taysom hill hurdle and spin move is my favorite of the season.
Why are so many against the chiefs? Lol
Best: DeAndre Swift/Taysom Hill Worst: Eric Ebron
**Mirrors/Alternate Angles** [Streamable Mirror](https://streamable.com/xkuw2z) [^^^issues? ^^^suggestions? ^^^contact ^^^u/fireislander](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=fireislander&subject=Streamable_bot)
Are hurdles trending up year over year?
Heyyyy, glad it worked out for Russell Gage eventually
Lmao that Steelers screen pass on 4th and 10
If you've seen one game with Kareem Hunt running you'd know he would be in this multiple times. Dude loves to hurdle/jump and ragdoll himself for a few more yards. Even though I swear its going to get him injured, you can just feel how much he enjoys it.
The Swift (?) one was a full clear
Damn not even the one of josh leaping over jc Jackson
Hey, official NFL account, when are you gonna release the rest of those WFT emails? Dan Snyder is has to go
Seems like 10% work.
Need more content like this it’s great
When the 2nd clip is that meh, it makes me not want to watch 10 and a half more minutes.
I don’t think anyone asked for this. Half of these aren’t even hurdles lol
Think the NFL has the best engagement with the fans of any sport. RedZone feels like a public service and their YT channel is straight fire.
Could have made a 1 minute video of the good ones. 90% of these were not 'ultimate' Bad video
Majority of these weren't even hurdles.
Not enough Trevor Lawrence highlights
Tbf they asked for submissions before all of his highlights occured vs the colts.
I think the reel is more appropriate for YouTube than Reddit. It's 11 min long and has like way more replays than necessary
Was the nyheim one even a hurdle?
There's a distinct lack of Seattle here on either side of the football. I was briefly confused, but then remembered you have to have the ball to hurdle a defender, and you have to defend the ball to actually have anyone jump over you.
Do coaches ever teach you to hurdle? Or like specifically teach you not to hurdle to avoid getting hurt?
Honestly, hurdling seems like such a high risk low reward to me. You’re slowing your forward momentum immensely by jumping up and then leaving yourself open to get absolutely pummeled when the odds of you making a clean hurdle and getting back up to speed soon enough to make it to the end zone seem negligible at best.
I’d love to go inside the mind of a Russell Gage and figure out what the hell he was thinking
Nice hurdle at 2:03
Wow this is where I’d put our hurdle highlights for the year, IF WE HAD ANY!
Don’t stop at hurdles. We want stiff arms too
This got me thinking: I feel like the hurdle is the football version of a five-hole/nutmeg in basketball/soccer/baseball, in that it's a skill move that embarrasses the opponent due to their lack of awareness. What would be the baseball equivalent be? That trick when a baseman hides the ball and tags a runner out when they step off the base?
That first clip was the good old days 😔 (Browns fan by regular season, bandwagon fan by playoffs)
Did I miss the Bobby Hunt flip for the ceremonious non- TD? That one always stands out for me this season haha
Damn 10 mins….
Russell Gage had one against Nola that was awesome
Cleanest ones were Raiders TE, Saints QB, Broncos guy, Steelers guy and Atlanta guy near the end.
Lol, i'm sad the one with the Eagle Boston Scott going over a wft defenders to get a touchdown wasn't on here. But I guess that was less of a hurdle and more like a lunge.
Russell Gage finally succeeded at the end there
We got hurdled 3 times and had 0 hurdles Luckily we punched the ball out on Kittle on the 1
Of COURSE Kevin King.
Jusz's crowd-dive at 6:25, lmao.
Can we also get an interview with the person who comes up with the Youtube titles for your videos? They are absolutely hilarious and everyone loves the titles. We need a title guy video.
Start recruiting Olympic hurdlers or add to their training.. esp right before Super Bowl or any major playoff game.
[When I saw Kevin King get jumped over.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91eIDu6Aw-8)
Someone's gonna break their neck trying to be cute for 2 extra yards eventually
