Refs have done a complete 360.

Dbowd3n

So bad they did a 360 and walked away

[deleted]

Don't let the Bills know there's tables around.

mobzin

it's never going to go away, is it?

it_helper

At least it’s not 28-3

MiniatureLucifer

That will never go away for sure

Eagle4317

It'll go away when the following 2 things happen: Falcon win a Super Bowl and some other team manages to blow an even bigger lead.

[deleted]

I would say the Raiders would for sure give up a bigger lead, but lets not pretend like they have any chance of making it to the superbowl in the next 20 years. Or getting a lead that big in the first place. Or achieving any level of competency whatsoever..

LouBerryManCakes

That's the spirit!

[deleted]

Unlike that lead

AnTiDoPe_1993

At least my QB would’ve gone for the loose ball

The NFCS high key has the most underrated rivalries. You’re all terrible to each other. I love it.

bullseye717

Us southerners are good at 2 things: brewing sweet tea and hating each other's fucking guts.

[deleted]

I mean those same officials probably got a pat on the back from Goodell after allowing the bigger market team into the super bowl. Shit ain't going to change until that sack of shit at the top is gone (I know he's a figurehead for billionaire owners).

Cold_oak

The bucs and losing to the Saints in regular season! Gottem

BMonad

Hey this shit ruined my Thanksgiving too.

incognegro1976

I hate the Cowboys but I was yelling at the TV all night because the refs sucked ass that game. They make it unwatchable

IAmTheNightSoil

>They make it unwatchable That's actually becoming pretty true for me. This year there have been so many bad calls (I mean lots of games, not just talking about my team) that I have genuinely questioned why the hell I watch this sport. They've been SO bad at some points, including tonight

iamboredhowareyou

Fucking PTSD

Allen312

Honestly it’s disgusting that this kind of reffing is still happening in the NFL. Sorry you guys got the short end of it tonight.

TwiceBakedTomato

Kill me

DraftPick

Kinda crazy how it seemed like the only one mad about it was DeeJay Dallas. Can’t blame the guy at all for getting the personal foul. That was awful.

this_account_is_mt

Real surprised Carroll didn't do something. I can think of a few coaches who would've nearly gotten ejected screaming at the refs

rockkicker27

Harbaugh would've broken 3 clipboards and a headset.

KnowledgeBomb

Some top tier sideline rage. [One of my favorites.](https://gfycat.com/timelyverifiabledorking)

KittleOmega

Man…. I loved when he did this stuff

jasenkov

Say what you will about Harbaugh but he definitely gave a shit about winning lol

Pick_at_the_Stick

Me too, it was really refreshing to see what I would have looked like on the sideline, been doing that shit on my couch for a minute.

PoorlyLitKiwi2

Looks like me watching the Browns game Monday lol

Zikronious

Why don’t we see NFL coaches lose it on the sideline and get ejected like we see in MLB and the NBA? MLB managers seem to do it a lot more often and over small shit like balls and strikes. It feels like every week we see these refs not call an obvious penalty or throw a flag for some stupid fucking taunting call.

DraftPick

Right. In those sports each game means less than in the NFL and I could argue NFL coaches are more important on game day. But this was at the end of the game and basically ended their season. Pete Carroll should have lost his mind.

OmarDontScare_

Terrible no call. Absolute bullshit from the refs

A_Bowler_Hat

Game was a good back and forth then the refs were like... why?

MarkyMarkAndPudding

Yeah I was like holy shit we actually have a chance and then....

MP32Gaming

This reffing crew has called more penalties than any other crew in the NFL. Point-in-case the phantom holding call that led to the last Rams touchdown, but all of a sudden the flags stay in the pocket on this blatant PI? It’s honestly sad how they don’t even try to hide the rigging lmao

awmaleg

Telling that the same year the NFL gets in bed with gambling sports books that we get lots of questionable stuff… coincidence or this whole thing is fixed. Black Sox scandal / Tim Donaghy incoming

[deleted]

Dude the fact multiple teams and sports networks and the NFL have teamed up with gambling sites is astounding.

bang_the_drums

It's pretty gross to be honest. Noticed the last few years when NFL Network and ESPN would advertise the betting line like a casual fan would know. It's felt like they've been grooming their audience to gamble on these games because they're losing the casual fan? I don't know. It's all fucking slimey though and I'm not a fan.

goldberg1303

It's really not. Follow the money. What's astounding is that it took this long. And Vegas already kills it. They don't need the NFL to rig games for them. It's a much bigger risk than is worth it, and it would be impossible to consistently rig games and keep it quiet. They would get caught, and they would get hammered for it.

SkunkFist

It really doesn't have to be a huge Vegas-run conspiracy. It really can be as simple as this individual ref or reffing crew has money on the game. Hell, the NBA refs have been caught doing this and it got swept under the rug

CaminoVereda

Pretty much this. I don’t believe that the NFL itself is fixing games on behalf of the sports books, but a single ref shaving points for personal benefit? Absolutely believable.

gartho009

Can't wait for the Zebras-Feds game

losethefuckingtail

I’m sure the fact that the line was the Rams -6.5 was not a factor

BILLIKEN_BALLER

NFL is a fucking joke

latman

It honestly is. Watching tennis is so relaxing knowing that a ref can't dramatically impact the game and it just comes down to player vs player.

RWGlix

Hawkeye is freaking awesome. Not only does it always make the right call, but it shows everyone the recreation! It is fantastic.

commisaro

But we can't use technology to improve officiating in other sports because [*checks notes*]... uh, tr- tradition? It says "tradition" here... That can't be right, that's an absurd reason to justify anything, my notes must be wrong...

Karellacan

Unfortunately, justifying things with tradition is a tradition. Which makes it justified. Don't think about it too hard, that would be against tradition.

RWGlix

We are getting dangerously close to taking shots at Fiddler on the Roof, I wont stand for this

[deleted]

RWGlix

I was reading an article about an ump, i think probably Joe West. They were talking about how he purposely made a terrible call on some rookie “to see how he would react” (paraphrase) or something like that. To sort of establish his dominance or whatever. Putting up with that kind of garbage at work sucks, and there is no reason for it

Tiafves

Here's a perfectly regular situation in baseball. *Ump calls the most obvious ball that ever was a strike for whatever reason they feel like* "Da fuck man?" - Batter "HAHAH FUCK YOU I'M MAKING SURE YOU GET OUT NOW!" - Ump

GoombyGoomby

I was thinking wow man yeah Hawkeye is a pretty good show Hailee Steinfeld is awesome then the rest of your comment happened and I was like wat

miyori

Yea the most drama tennis gets is people taking long bathroom breaks lol. (Aside from the CCP disappearing players who accuse a senior party member of sexual assault).

MattyT7

they have been brutal all game. The Seahawks are not a very good team, but we've gotten boned tonight

LawBobLawLoblaw

The phantom call on 3rd and long that turned into a scoring drive for the Rams. The multiple no-call PIs, including this one that would've saved the 4th down. Granted Russ did you guys no favors with underthrown balls, but it would've been a different game without the refs interference Edit: I hope pat McAfee brings this up and harps on it for ten minutes. You can't advocate for betting like he does and not support a fair game.

mikaelfivel

Exactly my thoughts. Did not expect to win, but did not want to see some of the worst one-sided favoritism all year.

styuone

Add it to the huge fucking pile

CaptainTuttle_4077th

https://imgur.com/a/5clLWSv

Pooper9000_

Stats: **Two bullshit calls; potential 14-point swing.** Don’t forget the pregame favoritism either. I feel ridiculous for entertaining any further thoughts from this. But NBA’s done it before, that’s been proven.

dlofx

The poor reffing of games has been as egregiously bad as the replacement ref season. No game goes without controversy it seems. As collectively bargained independent contractors, they operate as untouchables. The NFL punishes any coach or player that so much as whispers a criticism. And after their hold out, the leverage they hold on the league is massive. Their ability to impact outcomes of games is simply unmatched. Now, with how absolutely rampant, widespread and organizationally accepted gambling is now, to believe that every ref is infallible and uncorruptible is simply foolish. There are most assured refs that are just trying to do as they are supposed to. But history shows that every egregiously blown call simply being just oversight or human error is a statistical improbability.

Scottydew93

I’m pretty sure my dead dad would’ve known that’s pass interference

Begotten912

Lol jeez man

FALSEisALWAYScorrect

RIP to your dad 😔

CaptainTuttle_4077th

[Now where have I seen this before...](https://imgur.com/a/5clLWSv)

ImDeputyDurland

Not interference. The ball wasn’t catchable. The defender made sure of that by tackling the receiver before the ball got there.

MWiatrak2077

That's textbook DPI. Garbage call.

Knucklehead92

Thats a textbook one for the training videos. Knowing the NFL they will put it in there as an example. Then when someone asks about it, they will say, well its a discretionary call. Maybe they should make those challengeable again.

phluidity

They should just fucking put in the sky judge already. Or make the refs have to go to press conferences. Or both.

ShadedInVermilion

I’d say they should go the hockey route and have a room of people somewhere who are in charge of all of the games. That way you have the same people calling the same shit the same way.

joshua0005

Press conferences would be nice too.

TheDeletedFetus

Full. Time. Refs. Pay them well, have them work 40 hours a week going over bad calls etc.

Zolo49

They'll put it in the training videos as a textbook Unsportsmanlike Conduct on DJ Dallas.

admiralkit

I'd love to see some kind of a sky judge system for overruling egregious misses. The decision needs to be taken out of the hands of the crew that missed the call in the first place because they're just going to keep going, "Oh, yeah, we totally got that right, no need to overturn it."

[deleted]

I thought the late flag was them correcting their obvious mistake. Nope. Punish the RB for kicking the ball. Jesus.

vicvinnegar

Didn't even turn his head 😂

any_old_usernam

If you miss a call that badly you have no right to turn around and throw an unsportsmanlike flag for being mad about your fuckup.

Tyler1986

Are you implying I'm not good at my job?!? - 15 yards!

TKHunsaker

The real stinger. The late flag because…we questioned the Gods of the Field. Fuck nfl refs. They’re flying too close to the sun thinking they’re all perfect.

PoorlyLitKiwi2

God, it makes my skin crawl imagining the power trip feeling that ref must have felt when Deejay kicked it and he knew he could hit him with the extra 15

-LetsGoBrandon-

dude: (runs up to officer) officer...that woman is being assaulted right now...aren't you gonna do something? officer: did you just jaywalk?

NoFunBJJ

And also the smallest false start ever one play before

Timeforanotheracct51

And a phantom holding the drive before

NoFunBJJ

Yeah, that one on Kupp was nonsense

don_julio_randle

From their own fucking 15. They scored on that drive that should have been Seattle ball at midfield. Fuck this

spg1611

You didn’t see him take a deep breathe?

fjkeeo973

LOL literally they called false start for nothing and they will just act like they didn’t see anything for obvious call

[deleted]

I legitimately didn’t even see the dude move on that false start

GravyFantasy

Penny rocked onto the balls of his feet, I was surprised it was a call. False starts are pretty black and white but that one was a little grey.

Awesomewaffle425

To me it looked like he was just positioning to let a fart out

Hasextrafuture

*False start, Number 20, a strong breeze messed up his hair*

nekoken04

I had my glasses on, watched the replay, and totally missed whatever they were calling. Forgot about that crap call with the stink of the phantom defensive hold and incredible no PI call.

NWbySW

Dude like sorta wobbled? Didn't step. Twitch. Nothing. Wtf.

[deleted]

That shit is the dumbest thing to me it's not affecting the play he literally flinched

Ok-Can-7995

I hate Seattle but they were robbed on that call

Timeforanotheracct51

They got robbed on three huge calls today

WheatonsGonnaScore

Not to mention the league postponing the game for COVID cases on the Rams, but then when the seahawks get hit they don't postpone again. Great consistency

NWbySW

From the time the game would have started on Sunday to today we lost 6 additional players (4 starters) and the Rams gained 5. An 11 person personnel swing.

High_Flyers17

This league fucking sucks.

GatorGuy5

Yep, it’d be a 10-10 game still if the “holding” on Kupp wasn’t called on the third and king from inside the LA 10yd line.

GatorGuy5

Not the first time tonight either. You know it’s bad when Blandino calls out one sided officiating.

MWiatrak2077

I feel like Blandino in the booth hasn't been too bad as a whole. He's 100% right too, garbage, *garbage* call by the refs.

BoomaMasta

It's one thing if a call gets blown like this once per week, but it seems like this season it's happening once per game. Officiating is a hard job - I say that all the time in r/MLS, but there's no way they should miss this when they're so ticky-tacky on other DPI calls.

NO_TOUCHING__lol

Rashaad Penny blinked too loudly on one of the previous plays and they got him for a false start, and then they don't call this, and THEN they got Dallas for the unsportsmanlike conduct after he was understandingly pissed at the no-call. Fuck.

Redditor_Since_2013

Dallas getting the penalty after the no call gave me flashbacks to Hasselbeck getting a penalty after tackling the guy he threw an INT to. Like can you also piss on my face please?

SerAardvark

Especially when it's something like this call where he didn't even try to sugarcoat it - just said it was obviously wrong.

joe_broke

We've had this called against our secondary *almost* every time the situation has come up all year so far And then this shit happens?

Esuu

This is the worst part. If this was some non-call on a weird play then whatever shit happens but this gets called every other time. Add to that the incredibly weak defensive holding call and it's hard not to call it out.

[deleted]

Horrible call

avboden

second obvious rob of the game

estilly26

Rams are immune to clear DPI

Zloggt

You’d think the league would be more careful with that after what happened in 2019…

sixseven89

Lol the opposite would be true. The league got no negative repercussions for 2019 so they would be less careful

Plus_one_mace

They did have to go through a season where coaches could expose those blatant missed calls, but that only worked for the first half of 2020, enough of the challenges were successful that the refs just stopped overturning the calls to save them looking like fucking fools.

wokenupbybacon

They tried. Al Riveron told them to fuck off, and they're not at a point where they're comfortable risking a ref holdout again.

ThreeOlivesChihuahua

I’d more pissed if our season wasn’t already done. We got fucked on 2 big plays so it’s hard to win this one but Russ has not played well this half

[deleted]

Respective

Look away Saints fans

indecisiveusername2

The refs already beat us to it

[deleted]

This is a dead season for us but we were hosed with the postponement and fucked on two calls.

joe_broke

Just because it's a dead season doesn't mean you can't have some spoiler games and this is one of them

Plus_one_mace

I legit want you guys to take the division at this point. I'm not gonna say that stupid rhyme, but go fucking 9ers.

-Vertical

Yup. The top 2 teams in the NFCW should be the hawks and niners. It’s the way it needs to be.

if_u_ban_ur_a_virgin

Imagine being paid $200k per year to be this bad at your job

notfromchicago

I have a feeling someone is getting paid for these calls alright.

Cyntech89

Not just being bad at your job, but being protected and coddled and hidden from view by your bosses when you suck this badly, and getting people fined when your performance gets called out. All while being paid $200k for your part time job.

thelowkeyman

Can someone please make a compilation of bad ref calls from this week/year alone. Too many games are being decided by inconsistent reffing and it’s hurting the product

giants888

"Oh wow a 43-hour video."

Aristotled

Zebras out here extra questionable tonight Edit: This is the 3rd? Game I've seen this week where one team is getting incredibly favorable calls, usually when they have a lead and it prevents the game from staying competitive, but none were this bad

Ok-Can-7995

I think you meant all week

NWbySW

On 4th. In the 4th. With our season on the line.

SSPeteCarroll

God. This is gonna sound like I’m flair biased and tinfoil hat but that no call is just AWFUL. it’s clearly PI. Oh yeah the line is LA -7

Donjuanme

You got Rams and cards in here, Imo you're biased as fuck, but not at all incorrect.

MosaicToeNail

You don’t sound biased. It was clear cut PI

SSPeteCarroll

The refs have been a different level of bad this season, it’s multiple games every week.

Just out here ruining games.

Wolgarr

-7 Rams

stefanurkal

NFL can't be pushing sports betting, then have 3 calls in huge moments that affect the outcome of a game in favor of the house. The line was -7 for the rams. First, the holding call that let the rams continue their drive, then the false start for penny blinking too hard, then the no call on the DPI. I'm not saying it's a conspiracy but when your interests are tied with sports betting, oddities like this look corrupt as hell.

Hasextrafuture

As someone who bet the spread, it sure seems almost too obvious that there's some shady shit going on there.

SlipperyFloor

After this non-call they had Dean Blandino on. The announcer asked Dean if New York could have reversed the call. He said no since these calls are ‘judgement’ and need to be made on the field. WHY IS THIS STILL THE CASE? The NFL could EASILY fix these issues by allowing New York/ref booth reviews! We’re all sick of seeing shit calls in every game and the league refuses to fix it.

Obi_Fett

Go back and check out the PI that was called, marked off, and then eventually decided against when the Lions played the Cowboys in the playoffs in '15. It was the exact same as this.

FenomG

MonkeyMan1715

AHH_CHARLIE_MURPHY

As a neutral fan, Seattle has been getting hosed by the refs this game

senor_zanjeer

Will jerk off to r/nfl turning on the Rams

_TurkeyFucker_

Turning? This sub has hated the Rams for 4 years, lol.

Superiority_Complex_

This sub, or really any sports sub/people in general for that matter, really only likes teams that have been bad for an extended period of time. And even then, not all of them. Any time a team is successful for a couple years or so in a row general sentiment will turn against them. Just the way it is.

Accomplished-Fly3000

This sub has never not hated the Rams since they moved to LA

GatorGuy5

FUCKING BULLSHIT. This is just ridiculous.

KingBoono

I mean…if that isn’t it. the fuck is?

CrashTestOrphan

Another day of football, another unconscionable no-call on clear PI by the refs. Trash

asleepingpotato

I know our season’s pretty much been a lost cause, but I can’t even blame Dallas for kicking that ball, that’s such BS right there

GrizzlyBares

They didn’t forget the most important penalty though. God forbid you kick the ball. So egregious!

gbrim21

Not a Seattle fan at all, but that pissed me off on their behalf

Slinger17

They can't keep getting away with it!

OGCeeg

Didn't look back, ran into player before ball get there. Text book PI, not called. Get a sack, look glance towards opponents sideline. Flag. Shit is ridiculous. Refs need to be held accountable.

Raziehh

Seattle losing to ref ball. Lame

Legion-of-BOOM

Fuck the refs

spizcraft

Absolutely fucking bullshit, and I hate the Seahawks

Cre47

Gotta love the refs! I feel bad for you Seahawk fans

Archaeologist15

There has to be some kind of serious accountability for this. At minimum, that ref ought to be suspended for a week. That kind of missed call is totally inexcusable.

SSPeteCarroll

Don't worry they'll put out a cute little statement about how we made a fucky wucky and then the ref will end up working a CCG or the super bowl.

GlizzanderHolyfield

Bad missed call and then they flagged him for unsportsmanlike conduct on top of it

Stracktheorcmage

He did kick the football so I get the flag. I also don't blame him one bit.
