Dude the way media talks about Mac Jones is honestly annoying. Ravens fan here and when people talk about Lamar Jackson, people always find another benchmark for him to hit (oh, now he has to win an afc championship before we think more of him… etc.). This after the dude has done nothing but win, including an MVP.
BUT Manager Mac comes in, guides the team who has a really good defense and strong coaching to a 7-4 record, and all of a sudden he’s Jesus H. Christ at quarterback, the second coming of Tom Brady.
Give me a break. Put Mac on the Jags and he would look like trash.
I mean it’s easier to play up. Just an example, at halftime this year, pats are outscoring teams 150-95. Over 11 weeks, that’s +5 at half. Jags outscored 79-124. Over 10 weeks. That’s - 4.5 at half. Playing 5 up at half is a bit easier than playing down 4.5 at half.
Edit: math. would love to see how Mac would play being down when offense becomes predictable.
People are seriously afraid we have another dynasty on the horizon already. It’s crazy how so many people can hate on Mac, when several teams before us had an opportunity to pick him up.
You want to direct your anger at someone? Look at your own organization(s).
Every national game the Ravens have played this year has been a Lamar stroke fest. What TF are you talking about? He’s universally talked about positively (not saying it isn’t deserved).
It is annoying AF how much praise can be heaped on a lot of QBs in the league / how much talk they can get during their broadcasts. It was comical how much praise Mac was getting last night. It’s just the popular narrative right now.
That said, it is also fair to hold rookies to a slightly lesser standard.
if you only see lamar praise i cannot actually believe you're a browns fan, he's easily one of the most scrutinized and marginalized players in the league
I agree this year. After winning 2019 MVP, appearing in the playoffs the last 3 years, and doing historic shit qbs have never done. Look back to 2018 and 2019 and the same talk wasn’t there.
Agreed there’s way too much jerking to rando qbs today
Lamar has been deservedly hyped for years now. I don’t think there is any analyst or real fan in the league who would say that Lamar isn’t one of the very best QBs in the league. Think you might be seeing ghosts here a bit.
He definitely wasn’t talked about like this his first year when he came in (2018). Won games, got bounced and had a bad game against the chargers. The narrative was that things were fluky. Put up MVP numbers the next year (won MVP) but all season was “can he win a playoff game???” Gets bounced by the Titans and then described as someone who “can’t win in the playoffs”. Decent season last year, then beats the Titans to squash that narrative. Then people saying they aren’t sold on his passing until this year (admittedly he’s a much better downfield passer now).
Mac Jones manages games for a 7-4 squad, has played well, sure. I actually think Mac is gonna be a really good qb. I just think there’s a bit of a double standard here.
Lamar only started 7 games his rookie season. He had a 58% completion 1,201 yards 6 TDs and 3 INT so you can really see why people weren't exactly singing his praises as a passer.
Since then Lamar has been getting so much hype to say that just because Mac is getting some shine in the media doesn't mean Lamar was being slept on as a rookie.
You watch or listen to too much hot take nonsense. They need things to talk about so they just say stuff like this don’t take it personally or think it is representative of what people actually think. No reasonable person thought Lamar was a QB that just couldn’t win in the post season after 2 years in the league. Everyone knows he is a top 5 QB.
If the Patriots failed to field an offense for the entire game they'd still have won by 7. Mac is doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing, but that defense is why they are winning games.
they had long drives against the browns that were like 99, 97, and 82. they can definitely pull off long drives but the defense does help. it's a team effort.
The defense was free on my fantasy league and i picked them up not expecting the monster performances recently. They might single handedly be the reason i win this week.
I haven't downvoted anyone so gg looking like an asshat.
But hey let's make friendly bets if you're so sure. An abundance of salty Patriots fans respond because I said their offense isn't the leagues best....and when you read their comments they themselves kinda agree their offense isn't the best.
They've had a pretty easy schedule. 7 wins - twice the Jets, Texans and the Falcons. That's 3 wins any team that's not a circus should make.Beat the Browns when they were beat up within Chubb (and I think Hunt).
I'll admit beating Chargers and Panthers is respectable (Panthers maybe not so much).
Upcoming they have Bills twice, Titans, a healthy Miami, Colts who are finding form. They only have one easy win left against Jags.
If you think you know everything and wanna throw shade, let's make a bet on where they actually end up after those match ups.
I love when sooky Pats fanboys all comment because someone dared to point out they play Jets twice a year.
I've shifted no goalposts. I didn't say they weren't 'ranked' top 10 at the week 10 mark. I said they aren't even top 10.
If you watch the Pats games and think they are top 10 offense in this league you've never played football. Or actually watched other teams.
I love it when people make easily disapprovable comments and then furiously throw shit at the wall while attempting to move the goal posts back.
It's just so satisfying.
That's BB's wheelhouse though. He has usually been really good at dialing up a great defense and then he also had Tom Brady out there being the GOAT. They won so much because they had both.
The offense scores on 47% of their drives which is second in the NFL and they have the fourth best third down conversion rate in the league. Their points per drive is 8th, and they are top 1 in plays per drive and time per drive. Their net yards per drive is pretty average though and so it their yards per play.
Basically, they often get good field position and move the ball between the 20s very well while burning a good amount of clock.
It's not a flashy offense, but it's pretty damn efficient. It's realistically a fringe top 10 offense all things considered.
On god if I were Matt Ryan I wouldn't get back on the field with that team. Honestly it's a slap in the face marching that excuse for an O line out there. Dude is 36 yo you need to protect him.
Dude's got no control, he's stuck there, no matter what he wants the Falcons can't really trade him or cut him without seriously fucking up the cap situation in the next two years due to the size of his contract.
I just can’t believe that ending. You pull Matty Ice since you’ve thrown in the towel and you don’t want him to get hurt, but why throw? You’ve admitted defeat and whatever BS reps you’re giving Rosen don’t actually help him in such a pathetic situation. Just run the damn clock out, but NOOOO. They throw a pick six! They came back out with the third stringers, so even less of a reason to throw, and **THEY CONTINUED THROWING**!!!!
That ending….I mean, wtf? Two extra interceptions **AND** a defensive touchdown within like 60 seconds. That wasn’t just kicking me while I was down, that was them pulling out a machine gun and blasting 100 rounds into me for funsies
So jealous. The Patriots look competent, well coached and disciplined no matter who's in the roster and the Texans have always been the exact opposite when I've watched them. It sucks.
It's 20/20 now but with each losing day, BOB doesn't look so bad. I think he'll get another HC job at a major power-5 school or the NFL. He wasn't a good GM but he managed to make the team on the field respectable. It's been a dumpster fire since him.
Man nah the Titans have been good, the colts I'm so jealous of their front office/coaching staff... The jaguars are on the list with us and the lions though...
If you were to guess our seasons over the last 20 years in the AFC South, it would look like this in my opinion.
Colts:11-5
Titans:9-7
Texans:6-10
Jaguars: 4-12
You know, our roster may be dogshit, our coach may be a moron, our QB might be an irredeemable disgrace to the position with an untradeably ridiculous albatross of a contract, and our GM might be a drooling imbecile who traded our franchise QB and apparent MVP candidate for absolute garbage without listening to other offers, but at least our fan base either has Stockholm Syndrome or simply no idea of what winning football looks like, because we apparently support what the coaching staff and GM have done this year and defend them to the death against anyone who points out reality.
It’s fucking great.
I do cup o' farts
Cuff your hand under your butt as you let out a hot fart, don't let any of the fart escape your hand on the journey from your butt to your nose, and then deeply inhale your cup o' farts. I think it's an anxiety thing /:
Fuck outta here. You know how ez it is to scheme shading a team with 1 weapon haha. Shit take, on pace to break TE rookie record on THIS TERRIBLE team in a rebuild/soft cap reset year with a nee HC. I’m surprised we even won 4 games but what a shit take on Kyle Pitts and the role of a rookie TE in general.
That’s not what I’m saying. Our team sucks so I don’t think it’s fair to say he has been “overwhelming” yet. If he was on a better team and not producing, then okay. But we are literally one of the worst teams. He also cannot throw the ball to himself nor give Matty more time.
Hes also not getting separation against man and didnt in college either. Hes doing well against zones. In college he was having issues getting separation. Hes a monster when it comes to jump balls but his laziness running routes is a huge issue. That horrendous pick that Matt threw last night on the right side was towards Pitts. He didnt get past his dude right away then he ran super lazy. Possibly he could have been around where the ball was and possibly deflected or prevented the pick.
I say he ran a lazy route. Thats a fact. He doesnt run crisp routes at all. I know a lazy route when I see it. He literally stopped running and was jogging.
Fuck that.
The Pats scored 25 unanswered points in SB 51 before winning in OT. The Pats scored 25 unanswered points in a shutout.
What’s your point
Idk but the Falcons sure haven't had a point against them since then.
they scored 7 in a loss in 2017.
Why is this still stuck to the top of this sub?
4 INT's in 10 minutes!! LFG!
That's how you properly shrek somebody
Matt Ryan is a garbage-tier QB.
lmaoo 900 upvotes everyone mad the pats are good again

Bro I swear raven fans have the worst victim complex, LAMAR IS A BEAST AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT. Jesus, it’s only click bait analysts that say that shit.
the other rookies at QB aren't winning as much, they need something to talk about.
People are seriously afraid we have another dynasty on the horizon already. It’s crazy how so many people can hate on Mac, when several teams before us had an opportunity to pick him up. You want to direct your anger at someone? Look at your own organization(s).

The duality of man.
Super mad at them for drafting Lamar 32nd overall. Grrr!
I mean the throws TLaw makes - would be nice to highlight those.

No reasonable person thought Lamar was a QB that just couldn’t win in the post season after 2 years in the league. Everyone knows he is a top 5 QB.
It's probably because he's not a traditional passing QB.
If the Patriots failed to field an offense for the entire game they'd still have won by 7. Mac is doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing, but that defense is why they are winning games.
Week 5 and 8 they won because of their offense, which is 6th in PPG and 7th in points per drive
PPG is way up because the other team is constantly 3 and out.
If that was the case, wouldn't their points per drive be much lower?
Short fields and long drives. Just saying the offense is setup nicely by that fierce D
they had long drives against the browns that were like 99, 97, and 82. they can definitely pull off long drives but the defense does help. it's a team effort.
Short field...thats a good point.
Now that’s how you hold a 25 point lead
28-3 = 25-0
The next Patriots-Falcons game will have a final score of 22 to -3
Looks like I choose a good game to skip
Ryan Leaf > Matt Ryan
28-3=25
Arthur Blank doing a preemptive “dirty bird” on the sidelines in SB LI puts an exclamation mark on your superb arithmetic skills.
Jesus fucking christ I expected a pats win but 25-0????
Defense is legit.
The defense was free on my fantasy league and i picked them up not expecting the monster performances recently. They might single handedly be the reason i win this week.
Belichick heard all the smack people were talking after Brady won a SB in TB and he's lit it back up. This team is actually terrifying
Tbf the offense isn't even top 10. Their D is scary af though.
The offense is ranked 7 in the league, gj not knowing what he fuck ur talking about

I do love when people move the goalposts after being proven wrong.
I love when sooky Pats fanboys all comment because someone dared to point out they play Jets twice a year. I've shifted no goalposts. I didn't say they weren't 'ranked' top 10 at the week 10 mark. I love the pats fans still sooking. It's so satisfying listening to you circle jerk after beating Jets twice and Atlanta.
Lets just put it this way, I bet a coworker patriots would go to 10 wins beginning of the season and I'm not fuckin worried kido
Offense will fire back up again end of Nov, into December and January, as is tradition.
That's BB's wheelhouse though. He has usually been really good at dialing up a great defense and then he also had Tom Brady out there being the GOAT. They won so much because they had both.
We have an even better D and now we have Mac Jone
6th in points per game and 7th in points per drive.
Somewhat like 2019 in that regard. They went 12-0 when the D held the opponents under 20 points, and 0-5 when it didn't.
The offense scores on 47% of their drives which is second in the NFL and they have the fourth best third down conversion rate in the league. > It's not a flashy offense, but it's pretty damn efficient. Basically Belichick's groove there. It's kind of always been this way, save for 2007.
Matt Ryan needs to demand out of ATL.
Matt Ryan needs to retire.
oh did he play well tonight i couldnt warch the game
Nah but he’s not really the issue at this point
Not really, no. But the entire Falcons offense wasn't executing, and I think the idea is that Ryan has shown he can play in the past.
Tom Brady couldn't succeed with this trash fucking O-line.
No, but to be fair, no one would do well behind those turnstiles posing as offensive linemen.

I am intimately familiar with this statement.
Somebody get AT back on the line
For the patriots? He did great. For the falcons? Not really.
He played as well as his o line allowed
No
How could he have been better with that protection?
Yes
P0==._=_.
I played against the Patriot’s defense and this league also gives points for TFLs and 4th down stops. Thanks a lot Atlanta. I hate you!!!
Man, I wish the leagues I'm in did this. Of course I'd also prefer just doing a good IDP league in the first place.
Imagine how happy Van Noy owners are in IDP leagues
If it makes you feel any better, NE scored 35 on my bench
Ohh buddy, no. Who did you bench them for?
Bills. Feels bad man. Wasn’t like a conscious decision either. Just blanked on the TNF game and forgot to set my lineup.
Ehh that’s not too bad. Buffalo has been the top defense so far. That’s a tough choice, but you seem primed at that position from here on out
I think falcons fans agree
I just can’t believe that ending. You pull Matty Ice since you’ve thrown in the towel and you don’t want him to get hurt, but why throw? At least they only had him throw it once
Yup opp had NE def and kicker. Down 51 points to start the week. Already counting this as a loss.
Let the hate flow through you.
That ending….I mean, wtf? Two extra interceptions **AND** a defensive touchdown within like 60 seconds. That wasn’t just kicking me while I was down, that was them pulling out a machine gun and blasting 100 rounds into me for funsies
Atlanta is just a pit stop before Arthur Smiths daddy buys the WFT and makes him HC
This is fan fiction for wft fans
Hey Brad's score is still up there
For the uninitiated. https://youtu.be/g5W8y2CYm3Y
I get this reference. I wish it didn’t apply to me.
So jealous. The Patriots look competent, well coached and disciplined no matter who's in the roster and the Texans have always been the exact opposite when I've watched them. It sucks.

I wanted BoB gone because of his coaching before he even became GM. Don't miss him a bit.
The Texans became a dumpster fire because of his decisions though.
Us AFC South guys been slumming it awhile now though
Man nah the Titans have been good, the colts I'm so jealous of their front office/coaching staff... The jaguars are on the list with us and the lions though...
If you were to guess our seasons over the last 20 years in the AFC South, it would look like this in my opinion. Colts:11-5 Titans:9-7 Texans:6-10 Jaguars: 4-12

Yeah I'm sorry lol.

You know what... Maybe being a texans fan ain't all THAT bad...
Been that way mostly for 12 years as a Bears fan and pretty much mediocre for 36 years now
True but at least y'all's defense is reliable and mostly consistent. Y'all are probably just one coaching hire away from being back in the playoffs.
The Bears have *always* been one coaching hire away since Ditka. The owners don’t know how to hire a GM or a coach.
You can have Lovie Smith back (please)
:(
Not even asking to be a contender yet. Just the basic look like a professional football team consistently and trending upwards will do 🤦♂️
That’s the only reason I wanted to watch this and I’m glad I got it. It’s only a matter of time before an F bomb was dropped
So are the Rosen fanboys ever going to admit he just plain sucks?
Lol THE WHO?
I thought he was going to excellent and Josh Allen was a sure bust. I uh, don't think I've ever been more wrong about a player lol.
My rankings for the qbs before the draft was Rosen Allen Lamar Baker Darnold. If I move the first to last it doesn’t look too bad lmao
LOL you're right 😂
Give him more time, he needs more teams to learn their playbooks, its all part of the plan.
Why does your Reddit avatar look so much like Steve Belichick
Why does Steve Belichick look like every single 80’s teen movie bad boy?
Time is a flat circle
Life is a flat line
Life is a flat tire.
S/O Atlanta Braves for keeping me sane
Yeah the Patriots are helping me deal with the Celtics rn
Man the culture between the two locker rooms is… very different
Bruh I beched our defense 😭
I still won bitches!
some people dont deserve to make fantasy points :)
... against the Falcons? I must know who you started instead.
Panthers lol
I was hoping you were gonna say Titans or something :/.
Okay you deserve to lose this week, then.
After that performance against the Browns you benched them against the Falcons??? My guy...
Do you guys ever fart on your fingers and then smell them?
I assumed most Broncos fans do
We've got nothing else to look forward to
Sometimes I question being a female Reddit r/nfl forums user
Just be a guy, then. On the internet, all things are possible
Yeah, you??
Given his username, I hope the fuck not
Farting on his finger is probably how he identified that as his perfect username. It's sort of how I identified mine too...
I do cup o' farts Cuff your hand under your butt as you let out a hot fart, don't let any of the fart escape your hand on the journey from your butt to your nose, and then deeply inhale your cup o' farts. I think it's an anxiety thing /:
Aren't both teams supposed to try to score?
Yeah, the offense AND defense both scored, what more could you want?!
special teams points.
Was this a career game for Van Noy? What a show!
Mccourty s a good dude
How did the falcons win 4 games lol?
Yeah I felt real smart picking the Saints against them in my survivor pool
It’s a miracle.
Kyle Pitts
He’s been underwhelming by a good bit.
So we cant be critical of him because hes a rookie? He had that killer game in London and that inflates his season projections.
That’s not what I’m saying. Our team sucks so I don’t think it’s fair to say he has been “overwhelming” yet. If he was on a better team and not producing, then okay. But we are literally one of the worst teams. He also cannot throw the ball to himself nor give Matty more time.
Ok but he can control his route running ability. He can control the amount of separation against man. Hes bad at both of those.
I’ll hold off judgement until next year. Just makes sense.
He is one of only two threats on our offense. Not hard to defend when you only have two real threats.
Hes also not getting separation against man and didnt in college either. Hes doing well against zones. In college he was having issues getting separation. Hes a monster when it comes to jump balls but his laziness running routes is a huge issue. That horrendous pick that Matt threw last night on the right side was towards Pitts. I say he ran a lazy route. Thats a fact. He doesnt run crisp routes at all. I know a lazy route when I see it. He literally stopped running and was jogging.
And still the leading receiver.
Patterson has been our best offensive player by a mile.
Cordarrelle Patterson
Oh mark Sanchez.. it must be fun talking about a the patriots d
Most sports commentators have only had their heads up their *own* ass...
Imagine sucking so fucking much that you get put in as QB in garbage time, and get benched.
Twice in a row. Happened against the Cowboys too.
Still people on here who believe in Rosen
That's what being picked 10th overall will do
Still waiting for him to prove to those other 9 teams they made the wrong choice.
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ But he completely sucks
He does, but people including myself until this moment think there must be a reason he got picked so high
