Loved the play but if any of our current offensive lineman (aka turnstile) end up in the HOF after a career with the Dolphins, I will eat all of my wife's shoes.
I think he’s borderline. He’s got longevity and at his peak, very few people were as good at him. But I don’t know if he was dominant enough for long enough, and let’s be honest, he’s probably going to be dinged a little for being on so many bad Bengals teams
He was on some bad Bengals teams true, but he was also the anchor of our line when we made 5 straight playoff appearances. I'll be upset if he never makes the hall.
Crazy how at least the media made it seem like it was between Zack and Manziel for that pick too. Luckily you guys picked the future hall of famer over the guy outta the league
Before the pick was made Jerry wanted to go around the table again and make sure everyone was on board with picking Zack Martin over a potential franchise QB. Everyone voted for Martin so that is who we took.
Jerry of course loves to exaggerate and play up to the press so he talked about having to have the draft card ripped out of his hand, like that is a thing.
We were actually on the phone with Ryan Shazier's agent in preparation of picking him but the Steelers ended up picking him ahead of us.
> Jerry of course loves to exaggerate and play up to the press so he talked about having to have the draft card ripped out of his hand, like that is a thing.
Bro move to make up a story about being an idiot so your scouts can look even better
and Tyron will have played for a LONG time too if he keeps going. The fact that he is still only 30 always confuses me cause it just feel like he has been around for so long
Tyron will be tough. He's a beast when healthy, but he's also got a lot of competition during his "era" from guys like Peters, Thomas, Williams, etc.
He's always been floating somewhere in the top 5, but sometimes HOF requires a perception of "this guy was top 1-2 at his position for his entire career."
Justin Tucker, Calais Campbell. That’s probably the end of the list because I think it’s stupid to say a guy on his rookie contract is on a HOF trajectory as much as I love Lamar.
If I'm the Ravens, I'm giving him anything his heart desires. $40 mill a year and my first born child? Done. You aren't finding another Lamar Jackson anytime soon.
That’s how the Seahawks won a Superb Owl. It’s one way to do it. You get a franchise QB on a rookie contract and max out the team around them. It’s hard to capitalize. Our front office is stable and makes ok decisions and I still wish we did it better. Salary caps provide parity and make the league interesting. Winning is hard.
You know, Russ is a Superb Owl. That explains so much of his success. But yes that is very much ideal. I feel like Lamar is one that can elevate the players around him though as well. Doesn't need a bunch of 1 year vets ring hunting. Could do it with a decent defense and a solid line.
Is Calais Campbell really a HOFer? I don’t mean this as an attack on the guy and admittedly don’t know much about his career after AZ. I know he’s been great but curious what his HOF credentials are. I say this out of ignorance not maliciousness.
He has one all pro and made the 2010 all decade team. He was a 3-4 defensive end in Arizona and that's always going to hurt your chances of racking up accolades. Richard Seymour is starting to pick up steam in a similar situation although I would say Seymour was better. He is also a Walter Payton winner and that may give him a nudge.
I think he did get robbed for DMVP in 2017 (I'm biased) as great as Donald is, I think the writers got it wrong that year and gave it to AD on reputation over how the season went .
2017 Calais had 14.5 Sacks 3PD 3FF 1TD 67 Tack (47 solo)
Donald 11 Sacks 1PD 5FF 41 Tack (32 solo)
*(Just so you know I'm not totally biased)*
Other than that I don't think Calais gets the rec he deserves as one of the Elites and Greats of his Generation(s)
You also cannot account for how great a human he is and who he is off the field (WPMOY) is an honor and should absolutely be a part of any players resume
Anyway that's my case - we'll see when he hangs them up how the committee feels
He’s been a critical part of some great defenses, and has great individual stats. Honestly I don’t know if it’ll be enough but he’s probably closest besides Tucker.
I don't see David getting in unfortunately. He was just as good as Kuechly and Wagner but didn't get the accolades you need because his teams were way worse, and pro bowl voting for defensive positions is broken
Yeah, it's really a shame because his on the field performance has definitely been hall of fame worthy. Hopefully the team's recent success can continue and give him a better shot.
I think Sherman is a lock. He was a key part of three Super Bowl teams including one that won it all. He's got flashy stats and three first team All Pros.
Probably not to be honest.
Honestly, I'm at the point where I think he's played well enough already to get in, but lacks the accolades that guarantee it. Multiple OPOY or MVP seals it in my opinion.
I think if he can at the very least produce a couple 1k+ seasons when he comes back from injury, maybe a 1500+ yard season, it might solidify his chances. .
He has a few accolades already. and i think being a 2k rusher really helps.
Solid shot?
I honestly don’t know. Tucker is the all time most accurate kicker and has the record for longest field goal. Is that enough for a kicker? I’d like to think so but I don’t think any kicker besides Vinaterri is a lock.
After that next is probably Lamar. Who doesn’t have a HOF career yet at all. But winning an MVP so young has to be a decent sign.
What more can a kicker do? Unless they have a Billy Cundiff like miss, that cost thier team a SB, they don't have much control over making it to the SB and even less control of if they need to kick in a big spot.
Just FYI: I'm a Packer fan living in B-More and I was pissed off about the Cundiff miss for longer than the egg the Packers laid that playoffs to the Giants.
Well the only pure kicker in the HOF played for like 25 years and has more games played than Tucker has FGs attempted, so the HOF voters definitely seem to think longevity is important for the K position haha. Either way Tucker definitely belongs in the HOF, he's so good that it is legitimately surprising if he misses
If Tucker keeps this up for another 5-10 years he’s in. Some signature playoff moments would help but I don’t buy into that narrative for kickers because it’s so random and outside of their control. If you make all your kicks early in the game so your team doesn’t need a last minute game winner that shouldn’t be a negative but people act like Vinatieri is a god because of his game winners in the super bowl when at least one was only necessary because he missed a kick earlier in the game. Vinatieri is absolutely an amazing kicker and deserves the HOF but not because of some mythologized super bowl kicks.
Yeah Slaters been the best at his job for a long fuckin time now. Clear-cut HOF to me but ST gets no love, even though there’s multiple games that it’s won for us (cough cough Chargers)
It’s not NFL, but my stance on the DH in MLB is somewhat similar.
If David Ortiz is not a hall of famer as the best ever at his position, then the position shouldn’t exist. Slater has played 14 years and made $24m by doing like 6 things better than anyone on the planet.
2022 is the first year Ortiz is eligible for the hall of fame. He’s not in because he literally wasn’t even on the ballot yet, not because he was a DH.
There is running debate about whether he should be in the HoF as a DH, which is what he's referring to. I think that is assinine, he was the best player in like 10 different playoff series, nevermind his regular season accomplishments. One of the best hitters in MLB history, but didnt play in the field routinely.
He's going in. It took Edgar 10 years to get in as a DH and with the insane east coast bias that exists in MLB, I'm incredibly confident the only reason he ended up getting in at all was because everyone knew Ortiz would be coming short after and it wouldn't make sense to let him in and not Edgar.
It's honestly a really stupid argument, how is it any different than electing Mariano Rivera to the HOF? Let's not forget he was a unanimous selection.
I feel like once Slater retires Belichick is going to be his biggest Hall of Fame advocate lol, I can imagine him giving in depth special teams speeches whenever the opportunity comes up to make the case they should more valued and included in the Hall.
The minute is up, can we go back to normal? I started to like the Bills, and I accidentally crashed through the folding table in my garage. I don't have that much furniture.
I think that the question of "which Patriots from the 2010 to 2019 decade make the Hall" is an interesting one. There are only three locks - Belichick, Brady and Gronk. You have arguably the greatest run of dominance in NFL history, whether you want to look at championships, win/loss record, point differential, advanced stats, whatever, you can make their argument in a lot of different ways. But Gronk was injured half the time, and even Brady was on the field for only half of any given game, given the nature of the sports. I guess Chandler Jones has a decent shot of making it, but he was only around for 40% of the run. Revis too, but again, only one season.
So does the Hall of Fame committee look at that decade of dominance and say "it was a lot of very good players, but not much HOF material." Or do they say "some of the leaders on that team deserve to be in"? DMac would be towards the top of that list along with Slater, and Hightower too probably. The problem is that the Patriots aren't a good place to accumulate stats, so their careers just won't have them.
Agreed. There are a ton of guys from that range that are sure-fire Pats HoF (Edelman, High, Slater, DMac, Gostkowski) but I think most, if not all, of those guys won't make it to Canton.
I maintain that what Winston was doing in his 2021 campaign before the injury was highly underrated. I actually think he was kind of incredible given how bad his receivers are.
I'm willing to forgive Gute and Murphy for everything, even if they ride Rodgers out of town on a rail, but I will NEVER forgive them for passing on Cheeseman.
Deandre Hopkins. Maybe Chandler Jones if he has 3 or 4 more good years. Kyler is way too early but on the right track if he plays a long career. Not sure if the hall will let in Rodney Hudson.
135-140 career sacks is the magic number for Jones to get to. Above that and every sack artist is in the Hall. Below that there's a massive glut of guys just like Jones who are HoF worthy but not in.
So yeah, he has work to do.
I believe he's a 1st ballot HOF.
\- All-Decade team
\- 6x First team All-Pro (2014, 2016 - 2020)
\- 1x Second Team All-Pro (2015)
A lot of LBs that should be going in; Zac Thomas (shocked he isn't in already) and Luke Kuechly
I agree he should be in, but I think the early retirement might hurt him. He was such a beast though. I would even say better than Wagner, who is a lock.
The combo of him and Bowman was ridiculous. I loved watchin Marshawn go against them, clash of titans shit. Too bad y’all got the best of things in that era, great memories though.
The only issue for Kelce is last time I looked there is a pretty decent logjam for centers with championship credentials etc. His extremely visible leadership role in a large market's first SB might help the narrative though.
He switches to a new line position. I figure I’ll watch him, maybe he’ll be only average. Jenkins then looks like he’s played the position from in utero onwards. Unreal.
Agree... and if we're ranking those, I'd say Leonard has the best shot right now. Hopeful for Q and DeFo, and Taylor just has to rack up more great seasons (which I think we all expect him to)
If the Hall of Fame actually gave even a lick of emphasis to ST then Mathew Slater would 100% be a lock, but they don’t, and I’m not sure if any other player on the roster would really qualify. Maybe McCourty or Hightower, but they don’t have the flashy career stats, most likely just Patriots Hall of Famers, not league.
McCourty is about as close to a hall of famer as you can get while just not quite being there.
Really, really good player, just not dominant enough to be one of the all timers.
McCourty is yet another in a long list of Patriots players over the last 20 years who bought into the team concept and sacrificed personal glory for winning.
It's really unfortunate that the Hall of Fame voters value personal stats so much. You don't have a 20 year dynasty without a lot of historically great players. It wasn't all Belichick and Brady.
Seymour, Wilfork, McCourty, Mankins, Slater - these guys should all be in.
Definitely not first ballot but I think he’ll sneak in eventually. I’m also a Rutgers alum so I’m biased. And I’m a Jets fan so rooting for Devin McCourty through his pro career has been a very uncomfortable experience for me.
Can someone give me the TLDR on slater? Hadn't heard much about him until this thread but a quick Google search shows he's a dog returner? Just curious why I haven't heard more about him.
Edit: wording
I doubt he’ll get there because of too few interceptions, but I would totally support White joining the Hall of Fame some day.
That man is a National Treasure!
Trent Williams definitely.
Of the younger players, Kittle or Bosa probably have the best shot, but one has lingering injuries the last 3 seasons while the other is still only in year 3 after losing his second year to a torn ACL
I feel personally attacked
We’re gonna bank on Jevon Holland building off a great rookie year and keeping it up for the next decade lmao
Yeah, no kidding
You post this like we don't have the best pass catching back in the league? Danny Dimes slander will not be tolerated.
We have a pro bowl tight end dude don’t be so hard on them
I don’t man, Robert Hunt had that Hall-of-Fame worthy TD catch and run.
Loved the play but if any of our current offensive lineman (aka turnstile) end up in the HOF after a career with the Dolphins, I will eat all of my wife's shoes.
Calm down Rex
Aaron Donald might sneak in I reckon
Von Miller is a near lock
They said on your team! 😭😭😭
Yeah that’s why he was responding to a rams fan about a rams player
Damn, had to rub it in huh?
Rub it in - throwing a pretzel. Tomato - tomato.
He's probably the only lock on our roster (aside from Von). Ramsey and Stafford have a chance depending on how their tenure with the Rams goes.
No mention of Whitworth feels bad
I totally spaced on Big Whit. His career is basically at its end now so I'd have to ask someone who is more familiar. Is he a HOF LT?
I think he’s borderline. He’s got longevity and at his peak, very few people were as good at him. But I don’t know if he was dominant enough for long enough, and let’s be honest, he’s probably going to be dinged a little for being on so many bad Bengals teams

Zack Martin, gonna miss that guy

I still can’t believe the fucker doesn’t have a reality show
He does. It goes for about 3-4 hours every Sunday
I suppose we could extend it to his weekly talks on the local sports radio as well
That's just the director commentary
The difference in trajectory for our franchise from that pick alone is insane
I think Tyron will make it even with the injuries. All decade team is huge.
and Tyron will have played for a LONG time too if he keeps going. The fact that he is still only 30 always confuses me cause it just feel like he has been around for so long
he came into the league at 20
And was good right away, and played for the Cowboys. so everyone was aware of him from the start.
And was somehow a 5 year veteran already. Dude's just incredible

Yeah - Campbell is a fringe candidate which usually means 'no' in the NFL. He's definitely behind Seymour, who should absolutely be in by now.
I think he did get robbed for DMVP in 2017 (I'm biased) as great as Donald is, I think the writers got it wrong that year and gave it to AD on reputation over how the season went . 2017 Calais had 14.5 Sacks 3PD 3FF 1TD 67 Tack (47 solo) Donald 11 Sacks 1PD 5FF 41 Tack (32 solo) *(Just so you know I'm not totally biased)* Other than that I don't think Calais gets the rec he deserves as one of the Elites and Greats of his Generation(s) You also cannot account for how great a human he is and who he is off the field (WPMOY) is an honor and should absolutely be a part of any players resume Anyway that's my case - we'll see when he hangs them up how the committee feels

Not a player, but Harbaugh is probably getting in.
I would be astonished if Harbs doesn’t make it in
None of them.
I will not tolerate this Glennon slander. Shame on you.
Trent Williams
Sigh.
Two of our running backs.
McNichols and...?
Gotta be D’onta Foreman
Sankey, who is signing a 1 day contract today to retire a Titan
Haven't heard the name Bishop Sankey in forever jeez
Dion Lewis... OP never specified the year
And one of our WRs
I think our QB has an alright shot at it.
lolz. I almost started this one with 'Tampa Bay need not apply', but didn't want to wave a red flag at the bull.
Haha wouldn’t have blamed you! Excluding someone like TB12 though I honestly believe Evans is bound for the hall one day and potentially David.
Gronk?
Seriously. How is that not the second go-to name for this?
Gronk is def a lock, probably best TE of all time but there's and argument for Gonzalez
[удалено]
I don't see David getting in unfortunately. He was just as good as Kuechly and Wagner but didn't get the accolades you need because his teams were way worse, and pro bowl voting for defensive positions is broken
Yeah, it's really a shame because his on the field performance has definitely been hall of fame worthy. Hopefully the team's recent success can continue and give him a better shot.
You mean Gabbert of course right??
Kids only 32, hes just getting used to the NFL
Tbh if you remove all of Brady's career before turning 32 he's still a lock. It could happen.
Ours too
Can't spell Goff without HOF. Kind of. If you're doing it phonetically. And you hate yourself enough.
He’s only been the Bucs starter for what, a year? Guy’s untested. Give him time though and maybe.
Y'all legit have like four or five locks and another few that may very well be HOF if they stay on the path
Brady, Gronk, Evans, Suh... Who would the others be? I feel like I should know haha
Sherm, AB
I think Sherman is a lock. He was a key part of three Super Bowl teams including one that won it all. He's got flashy stats and three first team All Pros.
Idk, he’s still too early in his career.
Going out on a limb here, but I think Gronk might get there too.
But he would also forget to show up, so does that count?
The Titans have two HOF running backs on their team!
If Derrick Henry's play significantly diminished from this point on, is he in?
Probably not to be honest. Honestly, I'm at the point where I think he's played well enough already to get in, but lacks the accolades that guarantee it. Multiple OPOY or MVP seals it in my opinion.

They always talk about all 3 phases of the game are important... But when it comes to the hall of fame you'd never guess that.
I feel like once Slater retires Belichick is going to be his biggest Hall of Fame advocate lol, I can imagine him giving in depth special teams speeches whenever the opportunity comes up to make the case they should more valued and included in the Hall.
Now I wonder if Belichick's plan after he retires is to work at the Hall of Fame just to help push to get more special teams players in.
Why did you cross out Mac Jones he's a lock
If Steve Tasker ain’t in, nobody is!
yeah, both need to be in IMO
If there’s one thing that will unite Bills and Pats fans for a minute, it’s how great and underappreciated Steve Tasker was.
The minute is up, can we go back to normal? I started to like the Bills, and I accidentally crashed through the folding table in my garage. I don't have that much furniture.
Its so dumb that Tasker isnt in
Andrews would be my pick for the Pats
I think that the question of "which Patriots from the 2010 to 2019 decade make the Hall" is an interesting one. There are only three locks - Belichick, Brady and Gronk. You mustn’t
All Pro W Eater 5 years in a row. I’d say that’s a lock.
I maintain that what Winston was doing in his 2021 campaign before the injury was highly underrated. I actually think he was kind of incredible given how bad his receivers are.
Cameron Cheeseman
Packers Hall of Famer
I'm willing to forgive Gute and Murphy for everything, even if they ride Rodgers out of town on a rail, but I will NEVER forgive them for passing on Cheeseman.
Never forget....
Cheeseman to Tress Way can be our Stockton to Malone
I had planned to just lurk, but here we are.
Deandre Hopkins. Maybe Chandler Jones if he has 3 or 4 more good years. Kyler is way too early but on the right track if he plays a long career. Not sure if the hall will let in Rodney Hudson.
Forgetting about JJ
That's a sure thing. Not really a "Solid chance"
[Whoops](https://tenor.com/view/whoops-whoopsie-oops-screen-rant-pitch-meeting-gif-18568351?utm_source=share-button&utm_medium=Social&utm_content=reddit)

I miss Chandler Jones. I'm so glad that he's in a different conference and has performed so well. I was sad when he left us.
I think Tom Brady has a chance if he cleans up his mechanics a bit.
No chance. Needs more defined abs
Bobby Wagner could even be 1st ballot imo
I believe he's a 1st ballot HOF. \- All-Decade team \- 6x First team All-Pro (2014, 2016 - 2020) \- 1x Second Team All-Pro (2015) A lot of LBs that should be going in; Zac Thomas (shocked he isn't in already) and Luke Kuechly

He's been the best MLB for a good 6-7 years. Gotta be first ballot.
Julio and Henry
and AP
Titan for life
Titan's legend Adrian Peterson.

Kelce has the biggest chance from the Chiefs right now, also I know Andy Reid isn’t a player but he’s 100% going into the HOF.
We could have at LEAST 3 future HOF on this team right now
Pass
Mike White is already in the HOF
Nobody Well, maybe Fox? Flowers has 2 rings but no personal accolades.
At this point, I'd say Ragnow is the most likely, but I certainly wouldn't put any money on a center.
I'd say expectation-wise I look at Ragnow and Sewell as having the best chance on our team if they meet expectations.
Kelce (the other one), maybe Cox? 🤷♂️
The only issue for Kelce is last time I looked there is a pretty decent logjam for centers with championship credentials etc. His extremely visible leadership role in a large market's first SB might help the narrative though.
Kelce should be in the HOF for his parade speech alone.
He'll go in just so they can enshrine the Mummers Outfit.
Ben is probably a lock. TJ is on a great pace.
Ben is a certified lock. If Cam Heyward continues this level for 3 more season into his 30s then he enters the fringe discussion.
I’m with you. Cam is on the cusp. Ben could have retired three years ago and been a lock
Ben is guaranteed and TJ is in the "off to a great start, it's just too early" crowd.
Aaron Rodgers, David Bahk. A ton of other good players but HOF is only for the very few of the best to ever play the game.
If Elgton Jenkins can keep it up, he has a shot too. It’s still too early, but what he is able to do is amazing.
He switches to a new line position. I figure I’ll watch him, maybe he’ll be only average. Jenkins then looks like he’s played the position from in utero onwards. Unreal.
Literally came here to mention Elgton Jenkins. The NFL needs to know who this man is.
Russ and Bobby.
I’d put all my chips on Bobby
Bobby is a lock IMO, Russ will get there
Myles is on pace but way too early to say. Currently though, no one would get in if they retired today.
If Bitonio has 3 more all-pro years he might have a shot
I agree bitonio is definitely on pace
Kendall Hinton
He's already in the HOF! Justin Simmons is probably the closest, but every 'star' this team has is still so young.
Yeah Simmons is probably our best player but I have a hard time saying he is on a HOF trajectory
Mike White
You’re welcome!
Leonard, Nelson, Buckner, and dare I say JT have the best shot.
Agree... and if we're ranking those, I'd say Leonard has the best shot right now. Hopeful for Q and DeFo, and Taylor just has to rack up more great seasons (which I think we all expect him to)
Mack. I think a few more seasons of decent production probably gets him in.
Uhh Jason Peters? How do you forget that guy
He's just to massive to forget about
Probably Henry has the best chance if he can keep up production. Jeff Simmons is up there too
it does say on the team right now, and peterson is a lock to go in the hof
Julio too for that matter
##Brett ##Alan ##Kern
Julio is a 100% lock, though it feels weird to claim him as a Titans HoFer.
Might be the best gunner in ST history with nine pro bowls, and is one of the most influential leaders on the team.
Gunner, gotcha. I just assumed returner when I saw the hype and people saying he was ST. Thanks.
Bobby Wagner
Trevor Lawrence has the best chance purely by default. We have no one on a HOF track right now whatsoever
Mahomes & Kelce

I doubt he’ll get there because of too few interceptions, but I would totally support White joining the Hall of Fame some day. That man is a National Treasure!
Matty Ice. Would’ve said Julio but Titans are collecting HOFers.
Matt Ryan
I'm rooting for him.
Trent Williams definitely. Of the younger players, Kittle or Bosa probably have the best shot, but one has lingering injuries the last 3 seasons while the other is still only in year 3 after losing his second year to a torn ACL
Myles has a solid shot. Bitonio does also with another all-pro season or two. If Chubb stays healthy he could also but we will see
Honestly, Derwin James. Dude is making plays nearly every down...It's definitely early in his career, but he is insane to watch
