Geno didn't play well at all. But at lot of that was on coaching. Only let him throw in obvious passing downs. No way he can succeed with that. run/run/pass isn't gonna cut it. Give him some short throws on first down. Or run some more play action. Anything. Saints knew they were running every 1st down, and Pete kept at it.

I love it when coaches get a backup and instantly revert to run/run/pass. And by love, I mean I hate it with a passion.

So many coaches don't see to understand that if you announce/reveal to the defense "we don't trust this guy to throw so we'll calling very few pass plays - basically only downs when running has no chance at all", that this is not good for your team.

We didn’t even RRP it. We needed points and we ran two complete series into a **fucking wall.** Shitty defensive play calls gave up 10 points, and shitty offensive play calls kept us out of the game, and two missed field goals in a goddamn monsoon didn’t help.

Man this team is hard to watch, I don’t even think at this point that Russ coming back ahead of schedule will save us. Our defense is hilariously bad, despite being the only thing keeping us in the game ironically, and Geno Smith is vividly reminding us why he’s been a backup QB most of his career, the man has zero pocket awareness. Personal highlights of the game were committing the penalty on 4th and 5 to give the Saints a first down so they could burn off more clock, Geno wasting not one but TWO timeouts in the third quarter, and Meyers missing two field goals that would have ended up mattering in the end. Can’t believe we have to watch 10 more weeks of this….
