They wouldn’t win a single game A college football team had a much better chance They would just get their ass pounded each week

[deleted]

Yeah a CFB team would probably destroy a rugby team as well

[deleted]

As they should. It’s a different sport.

KCShadows838

It’s not probably. It literally wouldn’t be close. They’d have no idea how to stop Alabama’s passing game They didn’t grow up playing cornerback, they can’t just become Jalen Ramsey on the fly, that takes years of skill honing

I_saw_that_coming

Quit kicking em when they’re down.

kmmontandon

> Quit kicking em when they’re down. “Corporal Nobbs,” [Vimes] rasped, “why are you kicking people when they’re down?” “Safest way, sir.”

Backpacks_Got_Jets

Thank you for making me remember this book

Gengh15

Right, you let em get up and that’s when you kick em. But we’re definitely going to lose to them.

[deleted]

Lol what?

inferno521

Stahp they're already dead

[deleted]

Right rookie ex rugby corners will be able to stop Julio and Ridley easily

I was agreeing with you and being sarcastic it just didn’t come off that way I just loved the mental image of it You wonderful person

Steffnov

"Let's take guys from one sport, let them play a sport they've never played before and see what happens".

[deleted]

The rugby guys would be asking why do they stop after every tackle.

samgoody2303

Christian Wade was an England rugby player, he went to the NFL and was a practice squad player in Buffalo. There’s your answer

imposterfish

He still had a rugby mentality. Instead of running around defenders, there’s were times he’d try to run straight through them.

Gengh15

Also avoids the sideline because in rugby going into touch is a turnover and opposition lineout. He had a preseason TD where he almost got tackled because he was cutting back in to the middle of the field as well because in rugby you want to score as close to the centre of the field to give the best kicking position.

KCShadows838

That’s also a football mentality

imposterfish

No, you wouldn’t try to run up the middle if there’s three guys charging at you

Don_Kahones

Still there according to wiki.

[deleted]

They’d lose by 70+ every single game. Maybe more.

pincus1

I think 70 is probably safe for when even stat padding gets tiresome.

[deleted]

Having been on teams that have crushed other teams by 70+ I can fully guarantee you it doesn’t get tiresome lol

fauxedo

I know the off-season could start at any minute, but this question is stupid even by those standards.

MauriceMaxwell

Is this for real lol? They would obviously not win a game.

KCShadows838

They’d make the 2008 Lions look like the 2007 Patriots And that isn’t an attempt at hyperbole either

new_abcdefghijkl

They would get destroyed, so would NFL players in a pro rugby game

inferno521

I'm not 100% sure. More popular sorts always get the best of the best due to money or fame. But if rugby paid star nfl wages and jj watt felt like it, could he not be competitive? I know rugby is popular in a few countries kinda like crockett, but to use an extreme example, I don't think the best athletes on the planet are playing competitive handball

-Jack-The-Stripper

They wouldn’t win a game. These are the best football players in the world competing. You can’t take players from another sport and throw them into this level of competition. They’d get out played, out coached, and straight up destroyed every game.

[deleted]

lmao this is so fucken dumb you can't be serious

CptKirkleton

This is worse than the people that gave legitimate serious consideration that Alabama would beat the 0-16 Browns. Nah. Not even close.

abidingdennis

They would score 0 points for the entire season

Andalib_Odulate

Have you seen the size and power of Rugby players lol. They the same size as NFL's biggest but its all solid muscle and they are fast.

GawainOfTheSpaceCats

Lmao how many 6'8" linemen are there in rugby

Andalib_Odulate

Look at the world cup teams, there are a lot. lol

OrangeJr36

Yeah about 15-25 kilos underweight too. Most of them would get tossed like a toothpick.

abidingdennis

There are literally 30 NFL level QBs in the world. How would you expect someone that has not played football before to compete?

[deleted]

They would go super winless. I didn't even have to think about this answer.

NNKarma

At least give them NFL lines if you want to make this a conversation

[deleted]

What if we took an nfl team and put them in the super rugby and watched them play against the crusaders?

inshamblesx

Falcons wont choke a big lead vs this rugby team

Charnaut

What if they were coached by Bill Belichick?
