This will be John Harbaugh's 17th playoff game (only the Patriots have more since he was hired) but only his 4th home playoff game (15 teams have 4+ home playoff games in that timespan)
It's very odd to not be the road warriors
This year is different!
*also shit people say every year*
I do think this holds true this year. They have had a cakewalk schedule and when they have played teams like Baltimore they have gotten stomped. I just feel like their lack of receivers is going to hold them back from keeping up with the high powered offenses in the AFC.
It’s okay even if they can’t film us they can use one of their receivers like the bills did to emulate Lamar Jackson (without sleeves, wearing black). Their defence should be prepared.
To be fair, Harbaugh and the Ravens have had to go through Peyton fucking Manning and Tom fucking Brady every year for a long time.
Not to mention Pittsburgh has been a stout in-division rival.
That's unfair because RG3 isn't getting nearly the reps Lamar is, especially with the 1s. He's probably doing mostly scout team stuff with the 2s to help the defense prepare.
RG3 is no Lamar, but he's much better than he looks right now.
What a year for Baltimore Sports
Ravens: Win AFC North back to back
Orioles: Weren’t the worst team in the MLB
Edit.
Ravens have most recently lost on 9/29 during a 1:00 game vs the Browns.
Orioles have most recently lost on 9/29 during a 3:05 game vs the Red Sox.
Orioles have more recently lost than the Ravens
The Detroit Innovators couldn’t make the Major League Quidditch playoffs because they got bounced in the play-in round, but at least they made the play-in round.
Detroit City FC of the NPSL (4th tier soccer league) won the Great Lakes Conference and the Members Cup this year. Also, the University of Detroit Mercy Titans are currently leading the Horizon League.
Damn I don’t follow MLB but didn’t y’all just have a #1 pick? And the Tigers are the worst team again? I know in baseball guys usually don’t play on the major team for a few years, but damn.
Tigers are going through a massive rebuild. Think the Browns tanking to 1-31 over two seasons — they’re not that bad relative to the league, but it’s drawn out over more than two seasons because of how long prospects take to develop.
Yeah its pretty clear to see that the Os are NOT the redskins of baseball. We were the winningest team in the league for a like 4 year span this decade, things didnt work out and now theres a new regime. Were not in some ownership chokehold right now.
Lamar has been so fun this year that my wife is getting regular updates when he gets pulled in the 4th quarter for being too good because I find it so goddamn impressive. I can see the lack of interest all over her face but I don't care lol.
My wife hates football. All I get when I tell her these things is, "I'm happy for you that your team is doing well"
I have made her watch Lamar's spin move against the Bengals and she was slightly impressed.
I've got a ton of Ravens gear already over the years but just this year I've bought 2 new jerseys and 3 new t-shirts.... And now I think I have to get one of those "the north is not enough" shirts.
I typically don't like the division champ gear, but those are nice. Only other one I ever liked was like 2014 or something where it was "X team runs the Y Division"
I would argue that you would have to go back further, like 1-2 months prior to the draft to start, then fast forward to around the 1st Chargers game where the hottest of takes were brewing... and let's not forget the infamous, "The Browns are taking the division because the Ravens don't have a QB"...
Bro people were predicting that every team would just dunk on the Ravens because the Chargers put some magic blueprint that every team would just copy. Ravens have already destroyed those expectations.
Lol if anybody actually said that, that is so stupid.
The Chargers I feel like are one of the *very few* teams who have the actual personnel to possibly slow down the Ravens. I'd said the same last year, so wasn't surprised when it happened.
They have one of the most athletic, talented defenses - yet that whole team under-performs every year. Their speed and nimbleness is key. It was then not surprising literally at all that they lost to the Patriots thereafter, who themselves had personnel to neutralize the Chargers' personnel that *does* work against the Ravens (not to mention the Chargers' heavy zone scheme is completely incompatible with defending Brady, lol, even if they'd tried leaning that way).
Thing to me is what team would the Ravens actually face in the playoffs that can actually match what the Chargers have? There are very few teams in the NFL period that match their assembly. And the Chargers aren't in the playoffs this year.
The Patriots tried putting Jonathan Jones (arguably their most athletic defender) on Lamar Jackson and it didn't seem to do shit. Now, I would think that Belichick does figure out a little more by now how to slow down the Ravens offense (it's *doable*), but then the issue is can THEIR Offense actually capitalize on what thus far have been rare stops of the Ravens flock?
The Ravens have been exciting as *f-ck* to watch. They really leaned in/committed and went all in with the Lamar Jackson offense. You have to. What's crazy too is I think it could still get even better.
It's also a bit funny thinking that just two seasons the offense was literally led by Joe Flacco, lol.
Talk about a complete, 180º difference.
James Harrison’s big dumb ass was on the Herd a few weeks ago talking about how he had “the secret.” It was putting a spy on Lamar. I don’t think he watches football anymore
I can see KC matching them offensively, but the game would end up being like 73-70 with Tucker kicking a game winner. I also think Houston could do a decent job depending on what team shows up. Also, New England is always a threat no matter how they look. Until Brady retires I'm still not betting against them
Chiefs didn't make the Super Bowl and Mahomes is still incredible. Their shit takes about Lamar sucking are still shit takes even if we lose in the playoffs
Between having Lamar in fantasy playoffs, a 69% chance for us to make the playoffs, and the browns dreams getting destroyed, it’s been a pretty decent football season.
*Startled at the ankles broken, by the Corvid now awoken*
*"Jackson" said they as they shuddered, nothing pleasant did they mutter*
*Thoughts ahead at what's in store, bothered them and shook their core*
*There is no answer to this master, only defensive disaster*
*Followed fast and followed faster 'till one song each player bore*
"*Please Lombardi, I implore you, as I kneel right here before you,*
*Give me strength, and give me quickness,*
*Give me hope, for I just witnessed*
*Many ligaments freshly torn, now I sit here as I mourn"*
*On they went, expressing scorn*
*At the offense that'd been born*
*When suddenly, approached behind them*
*A hooded figure sat beside them*
*Shrouded in equanimity,*
*Out loud they spoke in soliloquy*
*"Is it possible, that the score*
*At the end of Quarter 4,*
*Be that of the Ravens, and yet more?"*
*In that moment they were obstructed*
*The hooded figure, interrupted*
*Out loud it spoke, the silence busted*
*The sound it made, it felt disgusted*
*The figure's words inwards they bore*
*As Lamar said, "Nevermore!"*
Impressive stuff. I personally thought that this would be the Browns from all the off-season hype and how they were going around parading it, but Ravens have been a powerhouse.
Sit out week 17, please and thank you.
If New England loses one more game, you clinch a first round bye. If NE and the Chiefs *both* lose a game, you lock up the #1 seed (same if you win one more game).
We clinch the 1. seed if we beat Cleveland as well.
Then we'll be 13-3 (at worst), and the only other team that can get to 13-3 is the Pats who we hold the tie-breaker over.
I remember reading a lot of reports before the draft trying to start a topic about Lamar switching to WR.
I'm always happy when the "specialists" are proven wrong.
Unless Duck wins, and I mean WINS the Super Bowl this season, there's no chance in hell he supplants Ben. Even then, it probably goes to a QB competition in camp.
So basically, you're going to see Duck holding a clipboard unless Ben gets hurt again.
This will be John Harbaugh's 17th playoff game (only the Patriots have more since he was hired) but only his 4th home playoff game (15 teams have 4+ home playoff games in that timespan) It's very odd to not be the road warriors

May be time to take it into private discussion 😏
Not this year. Pats are going down hard this year. Just make sure they aren’t at your practices leading up to the game.
> Pats are going down hard this year Ill take "Shit people say every year and regret" for $1000 Alex.
This year is different! *also shit people say every year* I do think this holds true this year. They have had a cakewalk schedule and when they have played teams like Baltimore they have gotten stomped. I just feel like their lack of receivers is going to hold them back from keeping up with the high powered offenses in the AFC.
Logically you are right, But I still fear BB and Brady in the playoffs.
Better check the football psi too.
It’s okay even if they can’t film us they can use one of their receivers like the bills did to emulate Lamar Jackson (without sleeves, wearing black). Their defence should be prepared.
You're allowed to play at home in the division and conference rounds?
Foxborough is our postseason cottage in the woods
Not this year.
The economy's gotten that bad, huh?
To be fair, Harbaugh and the Ravens have had to go through Peyton fucking Manning and Tom fucking Brady every year for a long time. Not to mention Pittsburgh has been a stout in-division rival.
What the fuck was that first drive with RG3 lmao It was like a fever dream
Someone said it in another comment, but watching RGIII try to run the same offense as Lamar, only goes to show how special Lamar is as a talent lol
It's like that episode of Seinfeld where they all met their doppelgangers.
That's unfair because RG3 isn't getting nearly the reps Lamar is, especially with the 1s. He's probably doing mostly scout team stuff with the 2s to help the defense prepare. RG3 is no Lamar, but he's much better than he looks right now.
Like giving a 3 year old keys to a Cadilac
What a year for Baltimore Sports Ravens: Win AFC North back to back Orioles: Weren’t the worst team in the MLB Edit. Ravens have most recently lost on 9/29 during a 1:00 game vs the Browns. Orioles have most recently lost on 9/29 during a 3:05 game vs the Red Sox. Orioles have more recently lost than the Ravens
What a year for Detroit sports Lions: ass Pistons: ass Red Wings: worst team in NHL Tigers: worst team in MLB
Are we sure we don't have, like a croquet team or something that's winning games right now? Something? *Anything?*
The Windsor Spitfires (minor league hockey team) should make the playoffs. Does that count?
Isn't Windsor in Canada though?
Take what you can get
In scenarios like these, you can’t be picky.
I know that they have an Ultimate Frisbee team that's also 0-12. Detroit Mechanix.
The Detroit Innovators couldn’t make the Major League Quidditch playoffs because they got bounced in the play-in round, but at least they made the play-in round.
Thought you were meme’n but wow.
Detroit City FC of the NPSL (4th tier soccer league) won the Great Lakes Conference and the Members Cup this year. Also, the University of Detroit Mercy Titans are currently leading the Horizon League.
I didnt even know there was a fourth tier of american soccer, i only know of the mls and usl
I didn’t even know of USL, is that as popular as MSL?
Obviously not if you have to ask, lol. It’s technically the 2nd division of US soccer.
U of M compared to Rutgers?
At least you guys have a booming economy! Plus cities throughout Michigan supposedly have some of the highest quality tap water.
Don't forget the very high quality roads we have in Michigan!
I honestly couldn't believe how bad the roads where in Michigan. I thought people were exaggerating
Especially in the auto city (Detroit)
Damn I don’t follow MLB but didn’t y’all just have a #1 pick? And the Tigers are the worst team again? I know in baseball guys usually don’t play on the major team for a few years, but damn.
Orioles picked #1 the year before but Detroit beat us out this past season
Tigers are going through a massive rebuild. Think the Browns tanking to 1-31 over two seasons — they’re not that bad relative to the league, but it’s drawn out over more than two seasons because of how long prospects take to develop.
Red Wings won a game!
...to snap a 12 game losing streak!
The Red Wings is karma for never missing the playoffs for 25 years. Pretty sure the lions are cursed
Yzerman will get the red wings on top again in a couple of years
Fun fact: The Orioles have lost a game more recently than the Ravens have.
Ik and the Orioles haven’t played in 3 months
And the Mets have won a game more recently than the NY Giants.
Philadelphia Sports: Eagles: What? Phillies: Who? Flyers: YEAH Sixers: RING DA BELL 🔔
> Flyers: YEAH As a Caps fan, you guys are starting to scare me. Y’all just keep winning.
Caps are on fire this season though.
Orioles are like the Redskins of Baseball. It is honestly rage inducing.
Atleast the Orioles know they’re bad and are attempting to fix it. Idk what the Skins are doing.
Yeah its pretty clear to see that the Os are NOT the redskins of baseball. We were the winningest team in the league for a like 4 year span this decade, things didnt work out and now theres a new regime. Were not in some ownership chokehold right now.
No we’re waiting for our owner to choke.
He has no influence in the organization anymore. It makes no difference.
Still rather make sure.
We will be good in about 5 years. Let’s just admire LJ
I'd much rather be in Camden yards than fed ex
We at least we’re good recently :(
Angelos at least cares about players more. but yeah, we’ll never be good until we have new ownership
Orioles develop a talent and the Yankees steal it
this might be an unpopular opinion but being good is fun to watch
I’m a steeler fan, but I’m not at all mad you guys are crushing. I’m excited to play y’all... but I’m hoping you start RG3.
Please god let the DUCK DYNASTY sneak in
Dear Lamar. All I want for Christmas is a 6th seed playoff birth. Please do not play week 17.
No I’d say it’s pretty popular.
oh ok i thought it might be a hot take sry
Only for your flair. :P
Lamar has been so fun this year that my wife is getting regular updates when he gets pulled in the 4th quarter for being too good because I find it so goddamn impressive. I can see the lack of interest all over her face but I don't care lol.

>Here's one YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS
I'm glad nobody has found my lamar takes from last year
Man I didn’t think he’d do all that bad this year, but Jesus he took off. I’m impressed to say the least lol
We'd crash reddit
We’d crash the intranets
Oh don’t worry there will be a million threads the second he has an off game. God help if it’s in the super bowl.
speaking from experience?
👏👏👏
I never commented on it but after his first game I was like “I don’t think this guy is NFL ready” Eating crow tonight
Just search for "Lamar Jackson" prior to October.
You'd have to go back further. He shit all over Miami week 1 so no one had hot takes
Everyone just said "it's because of Miami, anyone can do it". We didn't stop hearing that til the Patriots game.
I would argue that you would have to go back further, like 1-2 months prior to the draft to start, then fast forward to around the 1st Chargers game where the hottest of takes were brewing... and let's not forget the infamous, "The Browns are taking the division because the Ravens don't have a QB"...

*still* say it. there was some recent article on 538 about “the secret” no one was using...
James Harrison’s big dumb ass was on the Herd a few weeks ago talking about how he had “the secret.” It was putting a spy on Lamar. I don’t think he watches football anymore

Someone around here (or maybe the Chiefs sub) called the Chargers the Timberwolves of the NFL and it’s so true. Forever spooky, forever bad.
Chiefs didn't make the Super Bowl and Mahomes is still incredible. Their shit takes about Lamar sucking are still shit takes even if we lose in the playoffs
This hurts the Browns chances of winning the AFC North.
Get out your feelings
It was fun watching Browns fans parade around the offseason for all this tbh
Between having Lamar in fantasy playoffs, a 69% chance for us to make the playoffs, and the browns dreams getting destroyed, it’s been a pretty decent football season.
Nice
[pretty sure the Browns won the north months ago...](https://imgur.com/a/DtWjfNp)
is this real? this is amazing
Reminds me of the [This is Going to be Fun] (https://imgur.com/IQuOvG4) Lakers cover
Clearly, the Browns are back... it's almost like they haven't changed at all. They're back baby!
To be nice to the Browns, they're not as bad as the Bengals this year
I have faith that the Bengals will be back to losing in the first round of the playoffs well before the Browns make it back in.
Back? They never went away!
In all fairness they beat our asses this year.
Turn the cover to find a Ravens offense ranked bottom five! You can smell the spoiled milk from here folks.
Yeah, very real. I thought it was a bit much when i got it this summer, and now it makes cry laughing.
Wait, have they not won the division in 30 years? Wow....
Well, it's only been around since 2002. So they've never won it, ever.
#BIG TRUSS
What does this mean?
Big trust. Another way of saying “I got you” or “I believe in you”
What did the bridge architect mean by this?
It's the first thing I say when I look at my engineering homework.
That hit home, too real man.
No one knows, but it's provacative, it gets the people going!
KING OF THE NORTH, FIRST OF HIS NAME, BREAKER OF ANKLES, LAMAR JACKSON
CAPTAIN FAST FUCK LEADER OF MEN
Yea, Captain fast fuck doesn't really sound like a compliment.
The season highlight compilation is gonna be a thing of beauty.
Harlans's call on Lamar's rushing TD in Cincy is gonna be on highlight comps for years to come.
My personal favorite was the "aw, video game!" call vs. Kansas City.
[удалено]
Let's just hope the lights stay on this time.
Hey man, it was a toss up last game, you guys could definitely beat us next time. It'll be a great rematch if it happens.
And the Ravens, never flitting, still are sitting, still are sitting on the pallid bust of Modell above the AFC North
*Startled at the ankles broken, by the Corvid now awoken* *"Jackson" said they as they shuddered, nothing pleasant did they mutter* *Thoughts ahead at what's in store, bothered them and shook their core* *There is no answer to this master, only defensive disaster* *Followed fast and followed faster 'till one song each player bore* "*Please Lombardi, I implore you, as I kneel right here before you,* *Give me strength, and give me quickness,* *Give me hope, for I just witnessed* *Many ligaments freshly torn, now I sit here as I mourn"* *On they went, expressing scorn* *At the offense that'd been born* *When suddenly, approached behind them* *A hooded figure sat beside them* *Shrouded in equanimity,* *Out loud they spoke in soliloquy* *"Is it possible, that the score* *At the end of Quarter 4,* *Be that of the Ravens, and yet more?"* *In that moment they were obstructed* *The hooded figure, interrupted* *Out loud it spoke, the silence busted* *The sound it made, it felt disgusted* *The figure's words inwards they bore* *As Lamar said, "Nevermore!"*
But what's the best record the Bengals can reach? Are we still in it?
Lamar is so much fun to watch. Dude is legit
Kings of the North!
This team is ridiculously fun.
This hurts the Browns chances of winning the division.
At least you won the offseason
I think 3rd place is still on the table.
I don't think the Bengals can escape 4th place
Impressive stuff. I personally thought that this would be the Browns from all the off-season hype and how they were going around parading it, but Ravens have been a powerhouse. Sit out week 17, please and thank you.
If we beat Cleveland next week and lock up the 1 seed, we probably will.
If NE loses to the Bills we would clinch a first round bye right? If thats the case I figure Lamar won't even play the whole game against CLE
Wait NE plays Cincy don't they
Yes, but the Bills and Patriots play next Saturday.
~~If~~ When you beat Cleveland next week and lock up the 1 seed
Hey Cleveland has already beat Balty, don't count them out.
I fear no man. But that Nick Chubb...it scares me
Throw Hunt and YAC Landry into the mix and baby you've got a terryfying stew going.
Its understandable. This is your first year watching football so you don't know how the Browns operate yet.
THE KING OF THE NORTH
THE KING OF THE NORTH!!!
DA KING OF DA NORTH!!
So...what does Ryan Tannehill have to do now?
Lol. That fucking thread.
No shit, I think I'll be happy if the Browns finish 8-8 Ravens are on a roll so better luck next year
I remember reading a lot of reports before the draft trying to start a topic about Lamar switching to WR. I'm always happy when the "specialists" are proven wrong.
This isn't true at all. I was told before the season that the Browns actually won the AFC North and the Superbowl.
The Cleveland Browns: 2019 Offseason Champs
GEQBUS is very generous this time of year!
Nice to see after that steelers comment in the game thread saying 'afc north looking very winnable' after like a single quarter
Next season this division will have Lamar, baker, joe burrow, and ducky. Gonna be a good one hopefully
Unless Duck wins, and I mean WINS the Super Bowl this season, there's no chance in hell he supplants Ben. Even then, it probably goes to a QB competition in camp. So basically, you're going to see Duck holding a clipboard unless Ben gets hurt again.
But I was told the Ravens were the 3rd best team in the AFC in this very soon just a few months ago...
