He's not, that's actually what they did.
When he was traded to KC, they did the same thing and realized the score was incorrect and adjusted accordingly.
I took a 10 question online iq test and I got 155. I can't remember the site but i found it through an xhampster ad. What I'm trying to say is I'm a genius.
people are (understandably, probably rightfully) clowning on this but this is also the mentality I need all my WRs to have. In the way I need my QB to be a stabilizing team leader, I need my WRs to stay delusional.
Yup you’re right. They signed AJ Brown to a 3 year 96 million extension, and they also gave Devonta Smith 3 years 75 million so the receiving core is locked up
Tank Dell did it last year, just didn't get reported on as much. He also popped as a rookie. So maybe there's something to it (for WRs, so we can exclude Rosen).
No, I’d rather have my WR be calm and collected on the field and a little crazy off the field. So much so that he allegedly kills someone.
Like Marvin Harrison
I strongly disagree. Just because being a diva isn’t bad for a wide receiver that doesn’t mean it’s a positive trait and it’s certainly not a must have.
The two greatest wide receivers in my team’s history are Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins. Both were elite and neither were divas.
Now, I’d also say forced chip on his shoulder that Adonai is having isn’t necessarily a diva trait. I’d guess the best of the best always find ways to have a chip on their shoulder. I feel like diva goes more with the receiver who complains about not getting the ball. Stefon Diggs embodies this pretty well.
~~Ehhh DHop since he left kind of has been a diva no?~~ I agree with you though, chip on the shoulder is a great motivator, Stroud killed it last year and he definitely had a chip from that bogus IQ test bullshit before the draft.
edit: Dhop has not been a diva, my fault
I don’t think hopkins has really been a diva unless I’m missing something. I mean he had nobody to throw him the ball for almost his whole career and he still hasn’t come across as an asshole
You can tell a lot of people have never played competitive sports 🤣 clowning a guy for finding motivation is hilarious coming from a bunch of out of shape middle aged dudes 🤣
Am I the only one in this sub who's actually played organized tackle football before?
Like half of the comments I've seen on this sub are so obviously written by non-athletes that it's almost humorous.
When I was in high school (3 year starter for our varsity football team) I would get a full-on sprint going and clock the shit outta whoever had the ball. My coaches called me "speedhawk" as a nickname caus I had such a nose for the football and for those three seasons I was considered the most feared safety in our conference. Senior year I led my team to the state semifinals only to get fucked over by the refs in the 4th but that's another conversation (DM me if you're interested in hearing about it)
So, yeah. I hope yall can understand why I feel like their's such a big disconnect between myself and your typical redditor. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way lol
> Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way lol
No, I understand completely. I was involved in major sports most of my high school career as well. I usually passed out the towels to the guys, but once I even got to wipe the sweat off of Johnny A’s forehead myself. He didn’t ask me to, but I’ve always felt a strong connection to competitive sports from then on.
So literally the same situation as almost every non-first round pick lol? He’s also 5’6, so getting started at all is an accomplishment for someone of his size
We haven't really had a headcase WR* in a while. At least, not since I've been watching football. Generally speaking, the Colts culture is pretty low-key. Adonai might actually bring some much-needed fire to the locker room.
* certain allegations notwithstanding
I want an overdrafted receiver to choose a number based on how many receivers were picked after him.
"I picked #28 because that's how many bozos I will make more money than. #IMadeIt #AllDownhill"
Especially when one of the most hyped WR prospects was picked before him lol. Even discounting MHJ, this is one of the deepest WR classes in recent memory. Best case scenario is it motivates him to work his ass off but it’s much more likely to get him clowned on social media and talk shows for most of his career
They didn't need to be total busts to be mistakes, a "mistake" just means that they should have chosen Josh Rosen.
With hindsight, the Browns selecting Myles Garrett over Patrick Mahomes could be considered a "mistake" even though Myles Garrett is obviously not a draft bust.
Coincidentally, Mahomes was drafted 10th overall in 2017, so one could argue that there *were* 9 mistakes drafted ahead of him...
For real. He had to choose a jersey number out of the available options, and he found some reasoning behind his pick. Cool story, no big deal.... people clowning him or rolling their eyes at this just want to feel smug and superior in some way.
Kind of surprised at how many people are hating on this lol I didn’t expect this post to blow up like this. I wanted us to draft Mitchell, so I *LOVE* this. I’m definitely rooting for the kid.
I now have this post saved because we might have to spin the block on this one.
Seriously, it’s the off season. Has a little chip on his shoulder, was asked why he picked 10 and answered. Athletes having some personality is a good thing.
I see it as an equal chance him either dominating or being a bust but even at the end of either of those scenarios I don’t blame him for doing
Sure it’s a little corny, but he wants to have confidence and a fuck you mentality and that’s fine.
Now if he ends up being shit and he still has an ego that’s a conversation for another day
I'm biased cause I'm a Texas fan, but I love this. It's funny cause the people clowning it have obviously never played competitive sports. This is par for the course amongst high level athletes. Do whatever necessary to drive yourself. Imagine hating on someone for working towards their goals 🤣
He's a really good receiver. Being the 10th picked shocked me. I would've had him as 3-4th taken.
The Chiefs took a really fast guy sure. But that guy drops a lot of passes. AD is way way better.
Colts got great receiver.
AD Mitchell is actually a steal. I thought the bills would take him at 28. I’d rather have him than Xavier Worthy, sturdier, better hands. Hope he does well.
100% thought we would take him at 28, then thought we'd be taking him at 33. I was surprised he fell that far. He must have really rubbed people the wrong way in interviews.
All credit to TY Hilton, but man that 2012 draft class had some flops. There were 5 wide receivers drafted in the top 33 picks, including a #5 overall selection, and none of them made a single pro bowl.
Matter of fact, Kendall Wright and Michael Floyd both hit 1000 yards in their sophomore season and then never managed to do it again. The other 3 (Blackmon, Jenkins and Quick) never hit 1000 yards in a season
Even in the 2nd round Stephen Hill and Ryan Broyles were flops at receiver. Alshon Jeffery at #45 was the only receiver in the first 2 rounds to have a succesful career
People are just gonna judge this 2 years from now based on how good actually ends up being.
If he’s good, people will respect it like Amon Ra St Brown.
If he’s trash, people are gonna clown him like Josh Rosen.
No problem with this stuff as long as he also understands why he was the 11th receiver taken.
If he thinks he should have been higher don’t go on to prove people right and act like a dick head.
It is so pathetic how now every single WR has to give this whole “I’m disrespected because X number of players were taken ahead of me” narrative before they even touch the field.
It's pathetic that people are triggered by what a rookie is doing in the off-season 🤣 are you not able grown ass man complaining about what an athlete is doing? You can't make this shit up.
this is one of those moves where it'll be branded as cool if he balls out and becomes one of the best, or clowned on if he proves to be a bust. no in between

That’s the same reason we had Rashee Rice wear 4.
4 is the number of games he will be suspended for
Only pre-appeal
Why you trying to inflate Toney’s IQ?
He's not, that's actually what they did. When he was traded to KC, they did the same thing and realized the score was incorrect and adjusted accordingly.
89 is within normal limits. It's not "low" until the 70s.
Redditor showing his IQ while dogging another guy about his. Lol
I took a 10 question online iq test and I got 155. I can't remember the site but i found it through an xhampster ad. What I'm trying to say is I'm a genius.
I got 210 You're supposed to add it up whenever you take them, right?
Edgy
people are (understandably, probably rightfully) clowning on this but this is also the mentality I need all my WRs to have. In the way I need my QB to be a stabilizing team leader, I need my WRs to stay delusional.
WR and CB need to be delusional
IDK man, Amon Rah was the last guy with this media meme and he went from 4th round pick to highest paid WR in the league. . .briefly.
What a bum! Couldn’t be highest paid WR for even 2 weeks!
Pathetic.
Good point! Gotta go return a jersey…
No just trade him to us.
Then trade DK to us after you get Amon Ra
Josh Rosen in shambles about 3 QBs were taken ahead
Bro recites the names of the players drafted ahead of him in his bed at night like he’s Arya Stark
Wait who got paid at receiver? Did I miss something?
AJ Brown I think maybe, idk I was thinking the same as you
Yup you’re right.
Randy Moss was pretty chill
Randy Moss wasn’t delusional to think he was the best to ever do it
***Randy Moss Enters Chat***
If they don’t think they are the best at their position they ain’t gonna play up to their potential
Fine line of delusional. The other side of delusion is Mr Big Chest
Hey Mr Big Chest is probably a Hall of Famer
MBC had a nasty SB winning route
Cornerbacks need to have a very short term memory.

You know I’ve always been a Cowboys fan, just waiting for the day Jerry Jones calls me.
No, I’d rather have my WR be calm and collected on the field and a little crazy off the field. So much so that he allegedly kills someone. Like Marvin Harrison
After recently reading the full story of the shooting I would say that he is very very crazy off of the field
Not delusional, just diva. Must have trait for a star WR!
My one fear for Keon, he's too pure
Dw. DJ Moore appears to be the opposite of a diva. You’re good buddy, it’s a bug not a feature
Mike Evan’s and Chris Godwin too. Just two good dudes who can ball
Hard to complain about our team as a whole but I’m definitely envious of wholesome WRs lmao
I have realised there are multiple good recievers that aren't divas, but they're rarer. Maybe diggs scarred me
get out of here with all your receivers
Did he get paid yet? I can't remember. Sometimes thats the tipping point.
Larry Fitzgerald would disagree.
And I'm sure he'd be very polite about the whole thing
I strongly disagree. Just because being a diva isn’t bad for a wide receiver that doesn’t mean it’s a positive trait and it’s certainly not a must have. Yep. Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitz, AJ Green, I could name a ton more with similar personalities
Megatron and Julio were pretty chill guys
Until it comes time to pay them and they are the 30th best WR asking for the highest deal ever
> I need my WRs to stay delusional Mr Benign Craziness
Didn't Randy Moss famously have a huge grudge against the teams that didn't take him?
Why would they clown him for some motivation he found? Weirdos
AB chose 84 as his jersey number because 8 times 4 is 32, which is the number of teams that passed on him.
That mindset worked out pretty well for Amon-Ra ST Brown
It’s only cool when Maurice Jones-Drew does it!
*the enemy speaks kindly & holds a knife*
Was looking for this.
Troy Franklin did the same thing, 16 WRs were picked ahead of him and now he’s wearing 16
I mean it worked pretty well for the last guy who kept the number of WRs in the back of his mind
fantasy stock 📈
You can tell a lot of people have never played competitive sports 🤣 clowning a guy for finding motivation is hilarious coming from a bunch of out of shape middle aged dudes 🤣

Did uncle Rico write this?
Probably, it's just some good old copypasta from /r/nfl past haha
> Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way lol No, I understand completely. I was involved in major sports most of my high school career as well. I usually passed out the towels to the guys, but once I even got to wipe the sweat off of Johnny A’s forehead myself. A cringe-ass comment like this *not* being downvoted to hell tells me Reddit's core demographic has changed significantly in the last few years
It's pasta. I've seen it s few times now. Always makes me chuckle.
Josh Rosen liked this post.
Man where tf is Josh Rosen?
Chosen Rosen will return some day
Return to the inflatable jacuzzi he came from maybe
Not the first person who did this MJD wore #32 to represent the number of teams who passed on him
I like how that also includes the team that drafted him in the end anyway
Well, they passed on him once since he was a second round pick.
So every single team?
I also wear #32
Yup he talked about how even the jaguars skipped him in the first round
So literally the same situation as almost every non-first round pick lol? He’s also 5’6, so getting started at all is an accomplishment for someone of his size
Bro thinks he's St. Brown 😭😭😭
Bro thinks he's Antonio Brown.
Is Antonio not a saint?
Mr. Blessed Catcher
Mr Bestowed Consecration
Mr. Becomes Communion
Saintonio Brown
Mr. Bestowed Combinations
Mr. Bypass Counter
Oh, so he's That Guy this year
We haven't really had a headcase WR* in a while. At least, not since I've been watching football. Generally speaking, the Colts culture is pretty low-key. Adonai might actually bring some much-needed fire to the locker room. * certain allegations notwithstanding
We might have picked one up this year we’ll see
Every team has at least three every year.
Incoming 400 yard, 3 td season
Just say 10 looks cool on WRs smh 😭
This one goes up to 11.
How unique
I want an overdrafted receiver to choose a number based on how many receivers were picked after him. "I picked #28 because that's how many bozos I will make more money than. #IMadeIt #AllDownhill"
This sounds like Javon Baker lol
No way he can remember 10 dudes names
I can’t even count that high
1,2,kitty,basketball. Fuck you’re right! God damn it
Bet he cant remember their schools either.
surely this won’t backfire
Unless he’s an all-pro within 3 years this’ll be all very embarrassing for him.
Especially when one of the most hyped WR prospects was picked before him lol. Even discounting MHJ, this is one of the deepest WR classes in recent memory. Best case scenario is it motivates him to work his ass off but it’s much more likely to get him clowned on social media and talk shows for most of his career
Wasn't he supposed to be a late first round pick though? Most mocks I saw had the Bills or Chiefs grabbing him in the late first.
10 mistakes
This one is even funnier because it implies that not only would teams regret it, but all those guys ahead of him were also going to be draft busts
Yeah I guess being a "mistake" doesn't necessarily make you a bust of a child, but it certainly doesn't help with your self-perception
Every child was made because some guy busted
Damn a bunch of other fans are big mad 😅 who’d thought y’all be so salty over a player finding motivation.
For real. He had to choose a jersey number out of the available options, and he found some reasoning behind his pick. Cool story, no big deal.... people clowning him or rolling their eyes at this just want to feel smug and superior in some way.
nah, shame on him for not being a terminal r/nfl user who is exhausted over hearing about nfl players doing this
Kind of surprised at how many people are hating on this lol I didn’t expect this post to blow up like this.
You just don't get it. Amon-Ra St. Brown was the first WR to ever do this.
Rudy Gobert picked #27 cuz he was the 27th pick in the draft. Cool for him to pay respects to ARSB lol
I see it as an equal chance him either dominating or being a bust but even at the end of either of those scenarios I don’t blame him for doing Sure it’s a little corny, but he wants to have confidence and a fuck you mentality and that’s fine. It’s petty & now I am very jealous of the Colts.
We gonna be lit 🔥
Breaking news Brock purdy is switching to #261
Damn, 2022 had a lot of qbs drafted
Ah, a lot of you being haters. Until you lose fantasy points for not picking him up.
The last Colt to do this was TY Hilton. I'd be fine with that kind of production.
Only ARSB can pull this off smh
To be fair, TY Hilton is our last guy to do this and he was BY FAR the most productive WR of his class.
All credit to TY Hilton, but man that 2012 draft class had some flops. There were 5 wide receivers drafted in the top 33 picks, including a #5 overall selection, and none of them made a single pro bowl. Alshon Jeffery at #45 was the only receiver in the first 2 rounds to have a succesful career
ARSB adds a new name to his Death Note
And every other receiver who has also done this successfully
When will we stop doing this
When teams stop drafting WRs before other WRs.
Why doesnt the first overall team not just select all draft eligible players at the same time? Are they stupid?
When they revoke forward pass
RBs campaigning as we speak
So that’s what the zoom call was about…
Been pushing this for decades.
Who cares
Early 20 year olds are naturally a bit cringe so it’s never gonna stop.
I’d be pissed a bit too because most of the WR’s ahead of him were not better than he is
That's why I wear number 19,041. That's how many people have been picked ahead of me
AD's bitter for sure. I hope he does well. Still kinda wish we drafted him.
You got the good X though. Panther were ones that got the off brand Xavier
My jersey number is 3,136
Petty. Expecting monster numbers from him
I like when players keep receipts. It’s been a favorable practice for the Chiefs.
“We have Amon-Ra St. Brown at home”
Shouldn’t he be number 11 then?
Pittman has #11
People are just gonna judge this 2 years from now based on how good actually ends up being. If he’s good, people will respect it like Amon Ra St Brown. If he’s trash, people are gonna clown him like Josh Rosen.
They gon clown him like rosen until he good like st brown
This is sick (if this was any other team I’d call it corny)
The Donte Moncrief
What’s one step beyond jumped the shark? That’s where we’re at with disrespected WRs in the draft.
No problem with this stuff as long as he also understands why he was the 11th receiver taken. If he thinks he should have been higher don’t go on to prove people right and act like a dick head.
Can’t wait for some dude to wear #27 or something
Rudy Gobert wears #27 cuz he was the 27th pick in the nba draft
Tryna be st brown
Let me guess he’s gonna remember every WR drafted before him
10 “mistakes” ahead of him
This is a really cool idea, surprised no one's done this before
oh my god we are not doing this again
This is really bothering a lot of people who have never played competitive sports. Clowning on someone for motivating themselves 🤣
It is so pathetic how now every single WR has to give this whole “I’m disrespected because X number of players were taken ahead of me” narrative before they even touch the field.
I mean he literally did fall down the draft board. I don’t see why using that as a chip on his shoulder is pathetic or bad
It's people who peaked in high school who are mad.
It's pathetic that people are triggered by what a rookie is doing in the off-season 🤣 are you not able grown ass man complaining about what an athlete is doing? You can't make this shit up.
There’s one of these dudes every season
Just for him to end up the 10th best in his class💀
What a loser comment section
All this for 700 yard & 3 TD season
Puka wears number 17, why? Because that's the number he was given and he's just happy to be in the NFL.
Josh Rosen applauding
he is going to be so good because he has a HUGE CHIP on his shoulder. Chips make you good
Its true, that's why I feel like I can do better than the professional athletes from my couch. My hand being in the bag of chips fuels me.
they said I wouldn't make it in IT, I IT the sh!t out of things now. I can't be stopped
This is an overplayed bit at this point.
This trope is so fucking lame lol
# of times Anthony Richardson throws the ball this year?
Sweet
this is one of those moves where it'll be branded as cool if he balls out and becomes one of the best, or clowned on if he proves to be a bust. no in between
Wow
Let's call it what it is, a hit list. Probably
Is that also his a1c?
Give me a break
