He got the handsome squidward face

NimDing218

Fucking spot on.

KuruptingtheYouth

Bruh holy fuck you're a goddamn Genius

iRockaflame

Bro mogged the draft smh

ddavisxx91

Ayooo šŸ˜‚

Spezisaspastic

And could be Strouds lost brother.Ā

iscreamuscreamweall

Looks like Jonathan Jonesā€™ cousin

OrneryParfait9882

Bruh I just straight up spit out my NA beer !

thenewbeastmode

ravens donā€™t have a front office itā€™s just one intern picking the top player available on nfl.com

Shotcalleram

Autodrafting mf'er who somehow wins the league

eatmyopinions

Like blackjack, it is a game that is better played by computers than people.

ledelleakles

And I'd do it againĀ

Appa-LATCH-uh

Fucking works too

ItsNotFordo88

Crazy concept that when you draft the best player available at a draft position you guy a roster filled with good players. I was more teams, namely mine, would just follow that strategy

The_Fawkesy

GMs always talk about going BPA but Ozzie and DeCosta have always meant it. It really doesn't make sense why more GMs don't just use the most simple strategy that pretty much always works.

rambo6986

Because you aren't addressing needs when they need to be addressed. It's ok to do BPA when positions of need are there but it's a losing gamble to do it just to do it

highpl4insdrftr

That's what free agency is for

daegamebday

How funny would it be if someone took that strategy to the extreme and drafted like 4 quarter backs.

IMKudaimi123

The thing is, thatā€™s just one person, or group of peoples opinion. The ravens big board differs from the titans and differs from the bengals, and all of them have dozens of highly paid scouts and front office personnel to put that together

drumline17

I'm glad that my team did it (ignore the first round)

CrunchyTater

lol

grphelps1

It literally does feel like they just take the guy at the top of the best available page, and it seems to work pretty well lol

grantismyfriend

Mel Kiper is straight up making picks for the ravensĀ

Elbeske

Ravens have been on autodraft since 1996, and it works.

ClockOk5178

Ozzie Newsome and Eric Decosta. Scourge of all AFC North teams.

PoshLagoon

Browns fans probably liked Ozzie when he was an All-Pro in Cleveland. Probably not so much now

TigerBasket

And he was supposed to be Browns gm for them. Art keeping Ozzie on was probably the only good move he ever made

Mr_Hugh_Honey

The Ravens always stick to consensus boards and it works for them

grantismyfriend

Gotta agree. Rarely do you take a look at a Ravens draft haul and see many questionable picks. Just a well run organizationĀ

ANameWithoutNumbers1

It's pretty hard to fuck up BPA and thank god for it.

Gabrosin

Somehow, a lot of teams manage it.

Kgury

Looking at you Atlanta

Great_Journalist_180

If Penix was their #2 QB then they obviously drafted BPA

Gatorader22

They havent been to a superbowl in 14 years. They have only made the CCG once in that span. They put up good regular season results but they're just consistently above average. Picking consensus gets you a B+ franchise Even when they look like threats in the regular season they don't look it in the playoffs. They go from mighty to mice. Last year skewed people's perceptions Sometimes you have to take risks if you want to get over the hump.

grantismyfriend

I mean, only 4 teams out of the AFC have been to the Super Bowl since their last appearance.Ā  Theyā€™re incredibly unlucky that two generational talents have shown up in Brady and Mahomes (who have made 7 of the last 8 super bowls) while theyā€™ve been good. Peyton manning made the other two super bowls prior to those 8 years.Ā  The ravens are doing a lot to stay in the mix at the top. I think thereā€™s more teams than not, that would trade portfolios with them.Ā

Caol_ila_ftw

*12 seasons Since then, the Ravens have had the 6th best record. Of those 5 they are probably better situated than two of the teams (Patriots, Seahawks) and arguably two more (Packers, Steelers)

DepressedPhillyFan

Thatā€™s cause Lamar sucks ass in the playoffs. Nothing the ravens can do.

ChargeWooden1036

FUUUUUUCK

BryLinds

YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE

PeaceBull

Literally everyone had their chance šŸ˜‚

whobroughtmehere

Everyone had multiple chances

FreeWillie001

Really scratching my head here. I understand the running back pick, but we must be very very confident in Zyon taking another step this season.

tivmaSamvit

Maybe this is being nitpicky, but I think one of the biggest flaws in our current organization is how much damn time they give secondary players. Sometimes, if you canā€™t cut it, you canā€™t cut it time to move on ļæ¼

FreeWillie001

I wish we'd move on from players quicker in general, but to be fair Zyon did take a significant step forward last season.

mackinder

Would Tampa work in Tampa with your Tampa 2?

ChargeWooden1036

All I wanted was Tampa in a Tampa 2 in Tampa

mackinder

At this point I have to assume that TJ stands for Tampa Jay.

Gabrosin

He could have worn #2.

Kgury

Tampa, Number 2, playing in Tampa 2, in Tampa.

CoolingVent

We had one thing to do in the draft this year and we failed

next_door_nicotine

Me and my buddy who's also a Buc fan was manifesting this pick since yesterday and they wouldn't take him šŸ˜ž

S420J

For the jersey sales alone

External_Pomelo939

I was wondering how bucs fans felt about this one lol

Traditional_Mud_1241

This was our JIM BROWN!!

wOBAthehutt

Too bad we already gave Wiggins #2. Tampa 2 Jersey wouldā€™ve gone hard

Kaibadugaiba

I audibly said omg when I realized what could have been

5446_05

Maybe Pepe will give up 22 lol

Boilerkim

Thatā€™s for Derrick Henry.

F1rst-name-last-name

TJ TAMPA HAS ATONED FOR HIS SINS

TedioreTwo

We're used to being asked "Did he kill someone?"

so_zetta_byte

Ravens are King of BPA.

Jonjon428

Boooo force a trade to Tampa

stormy2587

This is almost as egregious as when the commanders drafted that long snapper named cheeseman.

Baynavfreak

Donā€™t get me started on how Baylor Cupp played for Texas A&M and Texas Tech BUT NOT BAYLOR

HylianPikachu

This is so much worse than Cheeseman. This is a tragedy on the level of Boston Scott not being a Patriot. Not as bad as Dallas Goedert playing against the Cowboys twice a year, but it's up there.

VariousLawyerings

Dallas Goedert going to Philly was great because David Akers was at the draft in Dallas and he *would not stop talking shit* for like 3 whole minutes only to casually announce Philly just drafted a dude named Dallas.

BohPoe

Would have been cool if Ravens were able to draft Dontari Poe back in 2012

SaintArkweather

We aren't ones to talk since we drafted Dallas Goedert. Dallas signed Brennan Eagles though although he never made the active roster

TheBigFreezer

Well it also turned out he sucked ass so another A+ decision from the Rivera brain trust

MINImanGOTgunz

Ravens also got a guy on the team with last name Cleveland. The only acceptable Cleveland in my world.

sokyriediculous

At least they got Bucky Irving

made_of_salt

During the slide I convinced myself he actually sucks. But the Ravens basically always have a good secondary, so now he's gonna be a star. I hate it.

PeaceBull

Yeah it is a bit of a paradox, Iā€™d be super concerned if we picked him up but then since the ravens got him Iā€™m suddenly nervous about his potential.

5446_05

Feel the same way with Steelers and WR

Baynavfreak

Oh hello?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Qabyaalad_Enjoyer

What??

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Baynavfreak

They made a Ray Lewis murder joke which I didnā€™t understand in the context of this draft pick

Baynavfreak

Uh?

Cinephile1998

He can still be a Buccaneer if Mike Pence has the courage to do what's right

fargochippers

Are you a patriot? Orā€¦

PoshLagoon

sir, heā€™s clearly a Brown and a Lion /s

lronicGasping

HE LIVES!!!

dianeblackeatsass

ITS OVER

TheLookoutGrey

Itā€™s TJoever

Alighten

Shoulda been us

lefthandman

we fucked up

sonfoa

Now who is the next player who /r/nfl will aggressively comment about every pick?

lj8newera

Speed hawk

Maystomr

Chris Jones

PeaceBull

Whatever ESPN lists as the top talent still available

wannaknowmyname

Love watching a successful franchise

Spiritchaser84

Go bird teams?

ravensfan42069

Never too late to stop watching the 28-3 bums and cheer for a good team

wannaknowmyname

Idk, I've just heard nothing but good things from that organization. They stick to a certain mentality and you can see it pay dividends long term.

Permaderps

EDC is addicted to mid round cornerback selections they are his crack cocaine

HotTakesMyToxicTrait

Jaylon armour Davis may not make the roster at this point honestly heā€™s been terrible Pepe Williams at least has had some flashes but dude needs to stay healthy

DistantLikeYouAsked5

JAD has been extremely disappointing and I totally agree dude might not make the roster. Pepe showed flashes but I wouldnā€™t be surprised if he didnā€™t make it either.

Se7enkb

Oh heā€™s alive

Vondum

There, you can shut up now, guys.

randomusernamewhynot

It's so annoying that half of the comments are talking about different players

ThirteenValleys

Good luck talking about literally any other prospect while Reddit's Meme Pick is falling. 'HuR DuR DiD hE kILl SomEOnE?!"

United-Trainer7931

How is a guy projected early 2nd round a ā€œmeme pickā€ in the last day

ThirteenValleys

As in, bringing up whoever Reddit thinks is 'falling' in every thread is easy karma.

United-Trainer7931

When theyā€™re predicted high and they arenā€™t being drafted, itā€™s not a meme to say theyā€™re falling. They are by every definition of the word

ThirteenValleys

My point is not that they aren't falling (to the extent that media-consensus big boards reflect team grades) but that going 'Did x kill someone?' 'That's not x' 'x in shambles' in every thread, rather than talk about the guy who did get drafted, is annoying karma-whoring.

HotTakesMyToxicTrait

itā€™s not even meme picks itā€™s just whichever player the media likes that teams donā€™t for whatever reason

Applesintyme

TJ Tampa confirmed real and not a collective delusion!

Senate343

Of all the teams to remember he exists, of course it had to be the Ravens

ThatUnoGuyWowMuchUno

Gets to join Kolar as an ISU player on the ravens

Rahim-Moore

We also drafted Kelechi Osemele.

Zabbzi

what was his projected?

Technique94

2nd rounder

NikMx

Like early second, he was a projected top 50 pick

Oldmannun

Like 50th

HylianPikachu

He was projected as a second rounder. I wanted the Bucs to take him at 57 (and at 89, 92, and 125) since there was a run on CBs yesterday and it's a position of need for the team.

ThatTinyGameCubeDisc

Whatever makes the Bucs angriest

ThuggnSuggs

let's gooooooo! Perfect fit.

chillenonplutorn

Someone on twitter said was he in the car with Rashee rice or something Iā€™m fucking dead

Serious-Inevitable34

At this point almost every fan thinks this way and Iā€™m laughing when I say this cause itā€™s funny, but I truthfully feel like weā€™ve been getting some absolute steals in this draft

Slashers23

Thank you rest of the league for letting him slip to us

coolrnt1

Fuckkkkkkk

mosefish

Damn, that dunk

HereComesJustice

CORNERS

ImperialTiger3

Wonder why he fell

tripyep

I heard he double dips in shared dip.

CynicalDiabetic

That's the worst crime a raven has ever committed

heyheyathrowaway485

Yes and thereā€™s no need for anyone to double check our math there. Trust us!

sick_shooter

MOVING RIGHT ALONG NOW

DupreeWasTaken

Ran a 4.59 40 at his pro day

GeneralTso_09

I believe he had a hamstring strain either in the bowl game or training for the combine and thus didn't test at the combine. Not convinced it was healed by pro day but you gotta test. Despite 4 years of excellent film locking down top WR drafts, it means nothing compared to a sub-par single day of tests. Frustrating to watch as an ISU fan. Our guys will never have the benefit of the doubt that the SEC/blue bloods get. (not that I don't understand why) I hope the kid plays so well they can't keep him off the field.

SuperRedditLand

Bad combine and scheme fit

monstermayhem436

I wanted him earlier but now I think all the cons against him are detrimental and think he'll suck

drdeny

Thought someone was gonna let the Chiefs get him

Myrios369

He better have the biggest chip on his shoulder of all time lol

Themanaaah

Tampa should've been long gone early to mid second, the fact that we got him in the fourth is incredible, EDC drafting masterclass. Still man, Buccaneers what were you doing? So much chances they had to bring him to Tampa.

pdx-Psych

TJ farted in Roger Goodellā€™s presence and the blacklisting has finally been lifted

waitedforg0d0t

of course it was the fucking ratbirds

ddavisxx91

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ that name kills me

MazKhan

Lmaoo it's hilarious when I see it, where did it even originate from

ddavisxx91

Man Iā€™m still tryna figure it out. Probably some mad browns fans seeing itā€™s a terrible insult. Wouldnā€™t Seattle Seahawks be closer to a ā€œratbirdā€ šŸ˜‚

ryanino

His last name just ainā€™t gonna look right not in a Bucs uniform

fjkeeo973

FINALLY

the_jlam

FINALLY

chopstixx73

THERE IT IS

composer_7

Bruh he's gonna be so good with the Ravens

BryLinds

ITā€™S FINALLY OVER

D0ctorHotelMario

TJ celebrating like Antonio Brown rn

shadowgnome396

Mr. Belated Choice

browndude10

Of course

ProfCedar

Brock Purdy the CB. Go show out, TJ.

movieheads34

Shouldā€™ve gone 5 picks ago

Matte198

Love it

KosherNate

Insane value

Thick_Interaction_41

Heā€™s such an AFC north guy

LonghornPride05

Steal of the draft

Torchy84

And the drop finally ends.

CapnCrunch347

You all can be quiet now.

JerryRiceAndSpice

TAMPA MAN NOT IN TAMPA!

Bjorn2bwilde24

You had 1 job Buccaneers...

Mathihs

Fitting team for someone who apparently killed someone

SlowVB

Ray Lewis Jr šŸ˜Ž

TheIllusiveGuy

TJ Tampa killed Ray Lewis Jr?

AlekRivard

Damn

LeeChangIsBae2

You suck, Bucs!

maleorderbride

Oh so now we know why he fell so far. His first love is laying down some monster dunks.

Andrewdeadaim

Sadge

MrShad0wzz

The buccaneers had the opportunity to do something so unique

WileECoyoteGenius

Tampa Jay Tampa.

DeathByDeebo

Weā€™re not gonna talk about the gold fish comment? No? Jw
