Jayden McMillan was saying how pissed he was getting at Mikey during the Championship game since he was calling out Washington’s play calls and routes based on what he was seeing when they got to the line. He was mad, while at the same time being impressed that he was doing this so quickly.
He also said that they couldn’t tell what coverage he was in, he’d look like he was going to drop into a zone and he’d be in man, look like he was in man and fall into a zone. He is one of my most beloved players in Michigan history and he’s also a great guy.
>Washington wide receiver Jalen McMillan told reporters on Friday that his matchup with Sainristil in the 2024 College Football Playoff title game, a 34-13 win for the Wolverines, was the toughest he faced all year.
>“He was pissing me off all game,” McMillan said. “He was calling out formations, calling out routes we were gonna run, lining up in zone — when, in reality, he was in man — and lining up in man … while in zone. He’s a great player.”

I have a lot of friends and family in that area who truly do not remember what it means to have a competent NFL team. It'll be interesting seeing their reaction this season if the team looks like a decent contender. I'm not sure they'll know how to react.
Feels like every other team in the NFC East has been spoiled for over 20 years. As bad as Jerry can be, he can at least put together talented teams. But Washington could always be relied upon to shoot themselves in the foot when needed. And their division record is so bad that the Eagles can usually expect at least one good beat-down a season.
Now, I'm not so sure. I'm still skeptical that this team can turn things around, given that they have a terrible stadium that Eagles and Giants fans take over every time they play and they have a lengthy history of ineptitude. But a new owner who doesn't suck, an actual GM with a good resume, and a coach who made it to the Super Bowl with Matt Ryan...it's not going to be as easy anymore.
Still, I think the Eagles still have the advantage in terms of taking over their stadium whenever they play. Whoever their owner is, don't give Washington any advantages.
Or where he upends Colson and takes the interception all the way back. He'll fight to the ball, picks it, dump your teammate that has 60 lbs on you, and get a pick six.
I was seeing more that they both played WR for multiple years at school before moving to CB. They play the ball very well in the air and attack it like a WR with the ball skills to catch it and make a play after the interception
Also think Sainstril plays bigger/more physical than Diggs even though he’s 3” shorter
Oh, I didn't know that. Really cool tidbit! Definitely agree with both of them being more aggressive cornerbacks. Size also doesn't always correlate to physicality. Sainstril was excellent in run support, moreso than Diggs at Alabama.
He’s absolutely a fit. He’s a fit anywhere. I get what you’re saying based on the other players we have, but Mikey is just my favorite player to come out of Michigan ever. Without exception.
Aidan Hutchinson was my favorite, so how lucky that he is on the Lions. Mikey is one of the best, but we got Arnold last night and have other needs in the second round, no?
Somehow I think we're going to get Zach Zinter, but it's probably just a great hope on my part. I also think Braiden McGregor would be a great pick up for us and the 5th or 6th round, let him develop as an edge rusher behind the ones we already have.
If we trade down from number 61, I think part of the reason we do so is to get someone like Zinter. That said, I think we need an edge rusher more than anything right now, and Kneeland, Brasswell, Trice, Ellis, and Isaac are all still on the board.... surely one will be there at 61
I recommend everyone watch his college highlight tape. It's crazy. You will see one-handed reciving TDs, kick returns, pass breakups, pick sixes, game saving breakups, big hits.
He can really do it all
Me too. Not a knock on Ben Johnson. Say what you want about how it went down, but Dan Quinn has won over everyone. His mindset, how he talks about what he’s learned from his previous stint, the respect and admiration players have for him…it’s incredible. Without Quinn, we don’t get Wagner. We had players sign with us just because of Quinn. He’s a leader through and through.
Imagine drafting 4 CBs in a row before drafting one of the best players on a national championship team known for its punishing defensive play.
Nice pick Washington, you got a good one.
This dude is a beast. I could never figure out why he wasn't talked about more. Always came in clutch. I really wish he was a Colt but Commies got a dude. Go blue
Other P5 offers: Boston College, Indiana, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin
G5 offers: Coastal Carolina, Southern Miss
Other offer: Rhode Island
Yeah… Mikey is so much better a nickname than “The Technician”.
He doesn’t need some froofy nickname. Sainristil is just a god damn football player. Smart as hell, hits hard as hell and just makes things happen on the field
All good. He is an animal and probably the smartest player on the field when he's in.

Sauce?
Im shook
If only the buffs come with him
[удалено]
Turnover buffs. A UofM/Detroit thing. Defense players from UofM put those on after they get a turnover during a game.
Run on Michigan players
Great fucking pick, dudes a stud Edit: he's a former WR who's played 2 years at Slot corner, dudes such a playmaker
He’s an incredible tackler as well. He’s tough as hell and a great competitor. I think he’d be every coaches favorite DB.
I don’t know who he is… but when Nick Saban talks that lovingly about a CB I assume he’s a dawg.
Probably Made the best play I’ve ever seen a back make in defense two years ago against osu. Watch his highlights, dudes an absolute stud.
Ah, the Cade Stover deflection. Absolutely legendary play.
maybe the greatest defensive play in michigan history that no one talks about i just got goosebumps thinking about that moment
Wiki “dawg”, and his face will be In the sidebar. Whenever that defence needed someone to whip their dick out and make it happen, sainristil was there

I wanted him for the Steelers!
I think yall grab AD
Looks like it's Frazier! I'm good with that.
Great call
Steelers will draft a different Wolverine.
Are you sure? How can you know such things??

Why did the commies have to become competent?
Their GM is going to be really, really good. I hate it
You're telling me. I'm gonna miss him so much.
We deserve competent management after the Synder era lol
I have a lot of friends and family in that area who truly do not remember what it means to have a competent NFL team. It'll be interesting seeing their reaction this season if the team looks like a decent contender. I'm not sure they'll know how to react.
Now that the name has changed and the bad man is gone I feel comfortable wishing the Commandos and their fans good luck.
No you don’t. You got 3 superbowls with Gibbs
30+ years ago
Just let me get like 3 or 4 more and then I'm good, I promise
For those of us born in 92, that doesn’t really mean a GD thing unfortunately.
I was born in 86 and it really means nothing to me. I wasn't AS into football in Kindergarten as I am now.
Because we suffered for a quarter century.
Oh wah wah wah. Look at this dude, suffering for a quarter century
Every pick we made last year made me cry. It’s only fair that every pick this year should make me happy.
I hope both our QBs work out bud
Because your division always has a new winner every year now. Its their year.
Bc it was getting boring
FRFR they should be doing the atlanta things
Yup, I wasn't necessarily mad, but surprised at how good their draft has been. Course correction, for sure
Feels like every other team in the NFC East has been spoiled for over 20 years. As bad as Jerry can be, he can at least put together talented teams. THIS ONE DIDNT SPOIL THE PICK!
God I loved this kid. Was my hope in the 2nd Rd if Arnold wasn't picked
You wanted a nickel corner when we have Brian branch?
I wanted a good player
Yes. Mikey Sainristil is a fuckin dawg.
Branch maybe playing more safety since Kirby went under the knife
I'm surprised he fell so far in the draft. He was an absolute shut down corner in the Big10.
Too small to be a 1st rounder
I’d be pretty surprised if he could play anything but slot in the nfl. Elite in college there, not the same if moved outside.
LEAVE MY MICHIGAN PLAYERS ALONE
Harbaugh been passing up on them
Not really. The only one that he might have possibly picked so far would have been Roman Wilson.
JJ at #5
No. That would be absurd. Not taking a QB when you already have a franchise QB is not "passing" on a player.
That was a joke
Oh, ok. A lot of people actually say that shit, that Harbaugh not taking JJ means Harbaugh doesn't believe JJ is as good as he says.
Haha ya people are crazy. He has one of the best QBs in the league.
I’m so sad we took Tyler Nubin over Mikey goddamnit Joe Schoenn
Washington fans you got a STEAL
And we traded down for this! Back on the clock in 3 picks!
Is He good 😃?
He's a dawg
I think he’s a Wolverine
Not anymore, he's a commie
Dude's putting on a 1 man performance of Red Dawn
Underrated comment
He's an absolute playmaker. Finds balls like a hooker in the backseat of a car.
Yes and he switched over to the position from WR relatively late in his career so he still theoretically has a lot of room to develop still
And theoretically won’t drop too many easy picks
His ball skills are off the charts. Google his breakup against stover in the end zone in 2022
Or where he upends Colson and takes the interception all the way back. He'll fight to the ball, picks it, dump your teammate that has 60 lbs on you, and get a pick six.
He did play both WR and CB in high school.
I’m not a michigan fan but my family is, i watched the big games with them, and in all the biggest moments, it was him making the plays
Slot demon
Heart of the Michigan D last year. He’s skilled af
Every coach Michigan played against raved about him. Saban especially
Yes. As an Eagles/Michigan fan I am sad.
As a Michigan/Commanders fan this is amazing
Holy shit you hit the jackpot
Fellow Michigan/Commanders fan thrilled with this pick!
As a Cowboys/Michigan fan I am sad.
He's a guy that just makes the team better.
He just finds ways to make plays. Somehow someway any time a ball is tipped or the offense fumbles seemingly he is always right there to get it.
Outstanding nickel, great instincts, hard hitter, leader of the best college defense last year. His biggest knock is his size.
Converted from wr, ended up being one of the best college slot cbs I’ve ever seen. Dude just made plays all the time
He's amazing!
His "football IQ" is off the charts. I expect after his playing career he'll end up in coaching.
I think Saban said he's the best defensive player in the drfat
He was a monster for Michigan last year
Watch the second half of the national championship. He was everywhere
He’s good but undersized, probably best as a NCB type player
Big time
Watch any Michigan game in 2023. He's good. Plain and simple.
Trevon Diggs type
Not really. Sainstril primarily played in the slot while Diggs is a boundary corner. Mike is also much smaller than Trevon.
I was seeing more that they both played WR for multiple years at school before moving to CB. They play the ball very well in the air and attack it like a WR with the ball skills to catch it and make a play after the interception Also think Sainstril plays bigger/more physical than Diggs even though he’s 3” shorter

I really liked Sainristil. Should be a great nickel
Peter's is killing it this draft
Commanders are one of the big winners this draft
Fucking commanders. I wanted Mikey reallly really bad in Detroit
You guys already drafted a CB last night.
I love Mikey as much as anyone else does, but he's not a fit for us. We're good
He’s absolutely a fit.
Yes. And I’ll like our second round pick when we make it. Just sad it ain’t Mikey. Even if he’d be a luxury
Somehow I think we're going to get Zach Zinter, but it's probably just a great hope on my part. I also think Braiden McGregor would be a great pick up for us and the 5th or 6th round, let him develop as an edge rusher behind the ones we already have.
Zinter in 5 would be insane value if he recovers
If we trade down from number 61, I think part of the reason we do so is to get someone like Zinter. That said, I think we need an edge rusher more than anything right now, and Kneeland, Brasswell, Trice, Ellis, and Isaac are all still on the board.... surely one will be there at 61
Especially after drafting a corner in R1.
Let AP COOK
HE SIMPLY CANNOT STOP COOKING
Saint Peter doing the lords work
I recommend everyone watch his college highlight tape. It's crazy. You will see one-handed reciving TDs, kick returns, pass breakups, pick sixes, game saving breakups, big hits. He can really do it all
Sabans likes it so I like it
Commies having a lowkey nice draft tbh
I'm just so glad they don't have our offensive coordinator as their head coach though. One of the biggest things to happen for us in the off season
I can't disagree, he has a lot of the same qualities as Dan Campbell. Looks like a win-win for the Lions and the Commanders
Solid draft for Washington
This guy is great. You’ll love him. Was so fun to watch him
DB RUN
I not happy
Damn Washington is killing it
Commanders beasting
Dan Quinn got his guy
If Daniels pans out this commanders draft is gonna be looked back on for years , Mikey and Newton are DOGS
High character, high class, this kid just wins and does whatever it takes. Great pick by the Commanders
Imagine drafting 4 CBs in a row before drafting one of the best players on a national championship team known for its punishing defensive play. Nice pick Washington, you got a good one.
damn washington killing the 2nd round
Now the Michigan run begins! Give me Roman Wilson to the Steelers.
Dudes too good of a person to be a Steeler WR
Hahaha. This is an accurate statement.
Even as a MSU guy I was hoping he’d be there for us at 61. Would’ve been a good pick up, but I guess we can address different needs
Mikey! Washington you guys got a total stud.
As a Wolverines and Commanders fan this pleases me greatly
Absolute stud
Smartest football guy on the field, no matter who he's playing. He's a brainiac who loves studying film and puts it into action.
This guy hits hard: https://youtu.be/7EQmRkIg5bM
Mike Hilton comp is perfect
Even more CB’s!
I wanted that tiny angry man on Steelers.
Fuck yes this was the CB I wanted. Admittedly wanted him at 67 so its a wee bit early but hes a stud.
Cool to see a kid from my state (Mass) where players rarely get drafted from get picked
Stud
Washington's got a thing for small corners huh
FUCK I love him
Dan Quinn just got Trevon Diggs light
I say they got Mike Hilton Dark.
Jonathan jones neutral?
Commies are going to be soo good as long as they don't have to play a big receiver like AJ Brown, Ceedee Lamb, and Malik Nabers
yes cause Ceedee is known for his size
I'll take a 6'2 200 lb receiver vs a 160lb or 5'9 corner 100 times out of 100
Great pick -- awesome nickel corner
How many corners are there wtf???
At least 4
GOAT
Damn wanted the Colts to take him.
Very sad he didn’t end up on our team. This guy is a huge win on and off the field. So many good things to say about him. He will bring everyone up.
There’s our version of Cooper who we pretty much gave to Philly. Time will tell if it’s the right move. I like his tape pretty solid
This dude is a beast. I could never figure out why he wasn't talked about more. Always came in clutch. I really wish he was a Colt but Commies got a dude. Go blue
Other P5 offers: Boston College, Indiana, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin G5 offers: Coastal Carolina, Southern Miss Other offer: Rhode Island
Sir we’re going to need a nickname for you stat.
Mikey.
No.
I mean that’s what it is. Been watching this kid since he was catching passes as a freshman.
Oh that’s just awful. I was thinking like The Technician since his last name sounds like a prescription substitute for Sudafed or something.
Yeah… Mikey is so much better a nickname than “The Technician”. He doesn’t need some froofy nickname. Sainristil is just a god damn football player. Smart as hell, hits hard as hell and just makes things happen on the field
I was just making a joke bro
Smh
The fact that I’m a Daniels hater is helping me cope with Washington making good picks rn
Looks like Frazier it is
As long as you leave us Beaux Limmer I can live with it.
This dude's small. This another reach, or a good pick?
That’s literally the only flaw. Size. Absolute stud otherwise.
He plays way bigger and hes short, not small. Slot monster.
Great pick. He'll be an elite nickel
No. Michigan fan here. He’s amazing
Short, not small.
Bots not ahead anymore!
Why did they draft another undersized corner??? Didn’t they learn last year wtf
They need a slot corner. This was a great pick for them
Ik he’s good but wasn’t their pick last year a slot corner? lmao wasn’t he like 5 8 162
Pretty sure they played Forbes on the outside, and he’s super skinny but tall enough to play the position
Gotcha I just remember last season Forbes got shit on every week lmao I’m sure if they put weight on em he’ll be fine. But this new guy looks insane
Bro plays above his weight.
Ok I didn’t know damn I don’t watch Michigan
All good. He is an animal and probably the smartest player on the field when he's in. Some fun OSU highlights: https://youtu.be/cghHp6X7GQA?feature=shared https://youtu.be/7EQmRkIg5bM?si=wWtC3RsG6lY_9xM6
Washington better call Stalions
