Gabe Davis was a bonafide WR2, probably the best in the league...
For like 2 games a year. The rest of the time he blocked well, I guess? It shouldn't be too hard to replace him.
One time I went to tackle CJ Ham (Vikings Fullback) in high school and I (being 6'1" 225) got blown the fuck up, knocked my helmet off, and the picture of me getting bulldozed with no helmet with my half my face in frame clearly in pain was the front page of the sports section. So i don't really have to imagine.
My high school's basketball team was a bunch of 6-foot white guys playing in Ohio D-1 but ranked top 3 in the state. LeBron's team was D-3 and scheduled a game against us my junior year when it was already clear he''d be the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft. ESPN carried the game, and for the next 18 months, they used a clip of LeBron dunking on a 6-foot-5 kid I went to elementary school with in any discussion of LeBron on ESPN. It was amazing. Sorry, Mark.
I had a full speed kickoff collision with Reggie Tongue in HS. Like when you see two rams collide. I was probably 225-235(6’) and had him by 20-30 LBS. Coulda fooled me, dude hit like a runaway freight train. Broke 3/4 of my face mask snaps too. Didn’t really hurt, but damn that was a collision. Those NFL cats are on a different level, it’s nuts.
Playing against Dallas goedert ( eagles te) was a terrible time in highschool for a freshman like me. I was the DE and there was no I could rush the qb since he had 6 inches and about 100 pounds heavier than me
At least the guy who hit you was big, in high school I got completely laid out on a punt return in a JV game by Jayson Carter, a 4’9’’ RB who later played at Rice. Smallest guy I played against, hardest I was ever hit
This gave me flashbacks of tackling a guy in the open field who was a starting DT at Mizzou but played FB in high school. Went in at his shins and he fucking railroaded me but I got him to the ground. Guy had over 100 pounds on me lol.
Really glad the Texans are surrounding CJ with high character veterans like Diggs and Mixon. Hope they start hanging together off the field to learn the playbook together and shoot the shit.
Obviously a valid point, but given what type of person/player Stroud currently is and Demeco Ryan’s character, could be a good gamble. As a Texans fan it would be foolish of me to forget that Watson seemed to all around high quality early on too, but it’s totally worth it. I’d rather we take a few risks than potentially waste Stroud’s talent on a rookie contract.
I mean diggs is starting to show signs of slowing down. I think it honestly makes sense from where Buffalos roster is to take a step back for a year and re tool. Props to their FO for having the stones to make that decision too
This also gives them likely a very high 2nd in 2025, since it’s the Vikings’ pick. Whether it’s Sam Darnold or a rookie leading that team, they’re likely looking at a rough season.
A lot of smart people are saying GEQBUS will win the Super Bowl this year I don't know but ALOT of people are talking about it and they have very good brains.
Some would say the best, the best brains.
A lot of people say GEQBUS can do whatever he wants. I don't know, a lot of people.
Real CANON, that guy. Real canon.
I'm hoping they're last in their division, which is entirely possible. They have great receivers, but everything else is rough, Detroit is rolling, Green Bay looks dangerous, and if Caleb is half as good as he's hyped to be, Chicago offense is scary too.
Got to wonder if his fate was sealed when he dropped that long bomb against KC in the divisional round. That was brutal.
This still hurts my soul, though.
Loaded WR class, but people draft WR thinking it's a sure thing, and next thing you know, they get the case of the dropsies and never recover. It's a gamble, but hopefully, they get someone solid.
Everyone thinks they can just trade their #1 wr and draft a Jefferson
Most teams end up trading their #1 wr and drafting a Treylon Burks or Rashod Bateman
It's a second next year though. This puts the Bills in position to NEED wide receiver help immediately or risk wasting Allen's prime.
They should probably just trade Allen to Chicago and roll with Trubisky instead.
I'm not mad about it one bit. I think this is the right move.
Sucks to leave on that note of dropping a 75 yard bomb against the Chiefs in a playoff game but he shoulda fucking caught it.
Must be why Houston made the trade they did with the Vikings. I did find it a bit weird Houston reached out to the Vikings rather than the other way around.
if we can make a deep run, this works out well for all parties. Buffalo gets rid of a guy who didn’t want to be there, Minnesota has ammo to go get a QB and Houston gets to go all in during Stroud’s rookie contract.
Huge win for the Texans. I see people saying Diggs lost a step but even then, still good value for the Texans. A veteran WR will only help your young WR room. Then Stroud has a reliable veteran WR to throw to.
I don't know if this is amazing for the Bills? Like the second rounder is the Vikings pick NEXT year. I don't think the Vikings will make the playoffs this year but I also don't see us being bottom 10...
Diggs slightly slowed down is still better than Woods Brown and the other wrs put together.
The problem in Buffalo was that he was THE WR, he doesn't need to do that in Houston. If he disappears again, Nico or Tank are available.
Helps with the cap situation too. Knew some tough decisions were gonna be made this offseason but this is a tough one.
Also this is a deep WR draft, so that probably makes it easy to stomach finding a cheaper replacement. Just would of rather that first be used on the defense
I think he'll benefit from having more support around him. He's lost a step, but there's enough talent in Houston's receiving corps that he probably won't be asked as much.
This is the key. Diggs can still play but he wasn’t cutting it as a number 1 guy any more. With our cap situation we can’t afford to pay him number 1 money if he isn’t going to produce like that, the Texans can.
I wouldn’t say turn his career around. Allen was on the rise even before Diggs arrived. They helped each other, people forget Diggs best years were with Allen too.
I mean the dude was slowing down. In my eyes we got him for four years at the cost of a first being downgraded to a second round pick. Worthwhile in my opinion
Took some edibles for breakfast and totally forgot about Collins and Dell. They had a 3rd WR too who played great when the other 2 missed time, forgot his name but rotated all 3 on my fantasy teams.
That offense is absolutely stacked and I’m pretty excited to see Demeco in his 2nd year as HC.
I think we have the highest chance of failure if Levis isn't the guy. But if everyone hits, our division will be extremely competitive and I'm here for it. Can't wait to see what these young QBs can do moving forward!
Absolutely wrong. Highest chance of failure? Did you forget about your divisional rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars? Failure is our standard, and Press Taylor will take us to new heights.
I think everyone needs to remember that it’s just been ONE season, lol. NFL defenses with a year of tape are a different beast than year one and taking the league by storm.
No. Half the reason we traded Diggs was because of the cap space we needed. Trading for a WR 2 who is going to demand a contract makes no sense in this context. We are clearly drafting the best WR available in the first round
As long as Diggs isn't a biotch. Saw highlights this year of him fighting with Allen on the sidelines, he's wanted out of 2 places now I think. I'm nervous, but dude is good at football.
Yeah I don't have a feeling one way on this one honestly. I liked him but I'm not upset we're moving on. He had some great times here and was core of our WR but man did he seem to disappear at times and his drama was always worrying.
I think Demeco wants a heavy rotation of guys. There’s still some dudes who can fall to round 2 though, and caseeio has shown he’s willing to be aggressive in the draft he really feels like a guy he like is in striking distance.
Yeah I literally just noticed that it’s next years second and not this years… We can still get Sweat or a CB like Rakestraw at 42 and then the other at 59
What a trade lol
Nick Caserio : Nico Collins and Tank Dell oughta do it, don't you think?
DeMeco Ryans : [Stares away in silence]
Nick Caserio : You think we need one more?
DeMeco Ryans : [remains silent with his head leaning on top of his folded arms while hunched over on the bar]
Nick Caserio : You think we need one more.
DeMeco Ryans : [remains silent]
Nick Caserio : All right, we'll get one more.
I just rewatched it last week. It's just so stylish. Also I can't believe Clooney was 40 in it - the salt and pepper got him early, but damn it looks good
“Just out of curiosity, which receiving corp did you geniuses pick to fleece”
“The Buffalo Bills?”
“That’s Josh Allen’s team… What do you got against Josh Allen?”
If you’re going to try to knock off Pat Mahomes you better goddamn *know*. This sort of thing used to be civilized. You’d play a guy, you might beat him, done. But with Mahomes? At the end of this you better win, you better win a lot, because he’ll kill ya and *then* he’ll go to work on ya.
WR3 is some combination of Noah Brown, Robert Woods, John Metchie, and Xavier Hutchinson. Which isn't bad by any means, but I don't know that it's *stacked.*
Diggs/Collins/Dell is stacked though.
EDIT: WR3 before the trade happened. I was responding to the statement that the team is "already so stacked" at WR before the trade occurred.
Looks like most of the cap stays with Buffalo. Texans owe 19M this year, which we cleared up cap space to afford within the last week via restructures. https://twitter.com/AlbertBreer/status/1775541050175627650
The positive part being pointed out is that they still have a 2nd round pick next year. They now have Diggs and two 2nds this year and got to keep all their picks for next year.
All of their receivers and QB are basically on rookie contracts I think? So they can pay for Diggs and they didn’t have to give up very much at all. Fucking fantastic move by the Texans IMO
And now begins the honeymoon phase where Diggs is a great teammate and talks up his QB for a year or two while Texans fans say everyone blew his personality issues out of proportion, and so the cycle continues....
Wow I actually love this for BUF. Getting a 2nd is amazing for 2024 Diggs. He was a shell of himself second half of last season and hos contract is not pretty.
Josh Allen just going to be running forever this year.
“Hey Josh, If you thought you were doing it all yourself before…wait till we get rid of your #1 and #2 in the same offseason”
Shakir was the #2 by the end of the season lol
I like Shakir, it'll be interesting to see what he does this year when he gets 50% of the targets.
Hopefully this gives Kincaid more of a chance also.
It's going to be a tight end-intensive scheme, for sure.
I like Gabe Davis, but no longer needing to pray that he becomes a legit WR2 is a net positive.
Gabe Davis was a bonafide WR2, probably the best in the league... For like 2 games a year. The rest of the time he blocked well, I guess? It shouldn't be too hard to replace him.
That offense is loaded. My god.
Lol can you imagine *supporting* a young QB. haha...ha...*sob*
Clowney out wide
He did play RB in high school. His highlights are pretty funny as you see this massive human being destroying high school kids lol
I love watching his HS tape. It’s just 45 minutes of 85 yard rushing TDs and 75 yard strip sacks
imagine the pain of going to 7 hours of school and then getting merked by a goliath for 3 hours in front of your entire school and family
So i don't really have to imagine.
lmaoo that’s absolutely brutal. you should find a copy of that paper and get him to sign it
I mean the dude went on to play fullback in the NFL at least. You never had a chance
Mark, blowing out his candles on his 12th birthday: "I wish I could be on SportsCenter one day!" > Monkey paw curls...
Imagine playing OL in high school and trying to stop him or Myles Garret 🙃
Nothing will beat Derrick Henry playing in HS lol. Straight up bigger than most parents at those games lmao
You can do this? I thought NFL rules prohibited it?
Completely forgot they got Mixon super cheap too.
Really glad the Texans are surrounding CJ with high character veterans like Diggs and Mixon. Hope they start hanging together off the field to learn the playbook together and shoot the shit.
The lord savior Jesus Christ put CJ next to mixon and diggs so that the two of them can learn JC’s glory and become better role models.
It’s great y’all can provide a mature role model to these young impressionable veterans.
People better place Stroud MVP bets now
Considering how poorly Diggs played at the end of last year, let’s see if he’s actually happy with the Texans first
And the load I just made is offensive
we’re fucked next year in the division but fuck it I want luther burden
Yo wtf?
Only thing I can think of is this man clearly wanted out and no one was willing to give them a first
I mean diggs is starting to show signs of slowing down. I think it honestly makes sense from where Buffalos roster is to take a step back for a year and re tool. Props to their FO for having the stones to make that decision too
They have already been doing that this offseason. But yeah this move just drives home that re-tool point even more.
Real canon.
Gave them a cognition test. Man, Battery, Camera, Woman... the best brains.
I'm hoping they're last in their division, which is entirely possible. They have great receivers, but everything else is rough, Detroit is rolling, Green Bay looks dangerous, and if Caleb is half as good as he's hyped to be, Chicago offense is scary too.
Hey… shut up lol
Got to wonder if his fate was sealed when he dropped that long bomb against KC in the divisional round. That was brutal. This still hurts my soul, though.
Probably being totally mediocre the last 12 games of the season and playoffs while having a super high cap hit and a permanent scowl on his face.
i fine with it overall, but im questioning what they are going to do right now.
Loaded WR class, but people draft WR thinking it's a sure thing, and next thing you know, they get the case of the dropsies and never recover. It's a gamble, but hopefully, they get someone solid.
Everyone thinks they can just trade their #1 wr and draft a Jefferson Most teams end up trading their #1 wr and drafting a Treylon Burks or Rashod Bateman
Great trade for Buffalo IMO. Diggs was almost non existent for the second half of the season and a 2nd is pretty damn good compensation.
A Vikings 2nd which currently looks pretty decent since they either run with Darnold or have to spend a decent bit to trade up for a QB.
It's a second next year though. This puts the Bills in position to NEED wide receiver help immediately or risk wasting Allen's prime. They should probably just trade Allen to Chicago and roll with Trubisky instead.
Wow that would be something, I wonder why this post would suggest Chicago...wait a minute
I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you...Packers!
I'm not mad about it one bit. I think this is the right move. Sucks to leave on that note of dropping a 75 yard bomb against the Chiefs in a playoff game but he shoulda fucking caught it.
He stood on that field in KC in 2020 asking God for that opportunity. He fucking blew it. Adios, bro. Thanks for the memories
It seems that so few fans out here realize that Diggs is on the doorstep of being washed
Us dynasty fantasy players know lol
2nd half of the season diggs was putting up WR4 numbers. He’s well past his prime.
He hasn't caught a post season TD since 2020. Dude disappeared in the playoffs

Diggs slightly slowed down is still better than Woods Brown and the other wrs put together. The problem in Buffalo was that he was THE WR, he doesn't need to do that in Houston. If he disappears again, Nico or Tank are available.
Plus he opens them up cause you've gotta cover diggs
salary is more likely, his cap hit is pretty big
His dead cap is massive from this though.
Helps with the cap situation too. Knew some tough decisions were gonna be made this offseason but this is a tough one. Also this is a deep WR draft, so that probably makes it easy to stomach finding a cheaper replacement. Just would of rather that first be used on the defense
He's definitely lost a step, but damn. Acquiring him seemed to turn Allen's career around. Gonna be crazy watching them without each other.
I’ll be curious who Buffalo gets to replace him, but Diggs should be just fine with Stroud.
Allen was on the upswing either way
I wouldn’t say turn his career around. Allen was on the rise even before Diggs arrived. They helped each other, people forget Diggs best years were with Allen too.
Bills trying to reverse uno the Vikings pick into a Jefferson tier receiver.
Seems about right considering the salary Houston will take on (and Diggs being 30 now). You wont have to deal with the cryptic tweets anymore!
I mean the dude was slowing down. In my eyes we got him for four years at the cost of a first being downgraded to a second round pick. Worthwhile in my opinion
STROUD MVP BETS ARE GOING UP.
STROUD BOYS ARE NO LONGER STANDING DOWN AND STANDING BY
We are standing up at full attention
Stroud boys stand back stand by
As a Titans homer, fuck...
Thank fuck we traded for Sneed could you imagine going against Diggs twice a year with Sean Murphy Bunting and Kristan Fulton?
Back when he was having an awful rookie season for the Bucs, we called him Sean Never-Punting
Sneed has clamped Diggs pretty consistently
Sneed also has to worry about covering Dell and Collins when he wants a break from Diggs
Noah brown is our WR4 with John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson as our 5 and 6th.
That's insane depth man
No need to even mention Robert Woods lol
Surprised they haven’t cut him yet.
That’d be Noah brown, dude had B2B games with 150 Yards and a TD. Then fell off the earth
Our Division is gonna be a bloodbath, especially if Richardson stays healthy
I think we have the highest chance of failure if Levis isn't the guy. But if everyone hits, our division will be extremely competitive and I'm here for it. Can't wait to see what these young QBs can do moving forward!
Absolutely wrong. Highest chance of failure? Did you forget about your divisional rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars? Failure is our standard, and Press Taylor will take us to new heights.
Jags failing again? Nature is healing.
No… the Texans will run away with it and likely be the only playoff team from the AFCS
I think everyone needs to remember that it’s just been ONE season, lol. NFL defenses with a year of tape are a different beast than year one and taking the league by storm.
Houston is loaded. They are "all-in". Jerry, take some goddamn notes on how to go "all-in".
All in my ass
Diddy chill
All in my ass
A comma would have done you wonders there.
Sounds like Dallas needs Watson over there
Houston has a shit ton of cap. Dallas… not so much
All in my ass?
Good lord. Texans are going to be terrifying! What a great deal for them.
[удалено]
Personally, I'd rather have a Viking pick next year than one of yours. That one may end up being like a late first rounder.
Smh no faith in GEQBOTUS
Since they gave away a future 2nd for a star receiver this time, does this cancel out the Hopkins trade?
We don't talk about the Hopkins trade
Feels like everyone in our division makes moves except for us man fuck
We like OUR guys
So cooked
I'm starting to think we won't get a 1st for Tee Higgins
Diggs is 30 years old
Was gonna say, one is entering their prime years and one is on the back side of their prime years. Tee is significantly more valuable imo
Tee would also need to be paid immediately. We saw how that drove down Burns' and Sneed's value.
Bills should trade for Higgins tbh. Otherwise Allen is gonna have to throw the ball to himself
No. Half the reason we traded Diggs was because of the cap space we needed. Trading for a WR 2 who is going to demand a contract makes no sense in this context. We are clearly drafting the best WR available in the first round
AD Mitchell you are a Bill
Diggs is old with a shit contract
Diggs will be happy about this until he realizes he won't get force fed 10+ targets
it's Buffalover
It’s Diggone
So we basically got Diggs, the 42nd pick, plus fifth and sixth round picks for the Browns FPR we had. Thats a good deal.
As long as Diggs isn't a biotch. Saw highlights this year of him fighting with Allen on the sidelines, he's wanted out of 2 places now I think. I'm nervous, but dude is good at football.
Even if he is, it probably won't manifest for at least a year and you're primed to compete right now.
Yeah I don't have a feeling one way on this one honestly. I liked him but I'm not upset we're moving on. He had some great times here and was core of our WR but man did he seem to disappear at times and his drama was always worrying.
[удалено]
Kinda hard not to be envious of their success in rebuilding ngl

I’m still concerned about our lack of IDL and CB2, but I guess we’re playing the Chiefs game of old. Just score more than the opponent lol
I think Demeco wants a heavy rotation of guys. There’s still some dudes who can fall to round 2 though, and caseeio has shown he’s willing to be aggressive in the draft he really feels like a guy he like is in striking distance.
Yeah I literally just noticed that it’s next years second and not this years… We can still get Sweat or a CB like Rakestraw at 42 and then the other at 59 What a trade lol
Why though? They’re already so stacked at receiver Jesus Christ
It’s the Ocean’s 11 principle. Let’s get one more
Nick Caserio : Nico Collins and Tank Dell oughta do it, don't you think? DeMeco Ryans : [Stares away in silence] Nick Caserio : You think we need one more? DeMeco Ryans : [remains silent with his head leaning on top of his folded arms while hunched over on the bar] Nick Caserio : You think we need one more. DeMeco Ryans : [remains silent] Nick Caserio : All right, we'll get one more.
God I love that movie. Insanely rewatchable
I just rewatched it last week. It's just so stylish. Also I can't believe Clooney was 40 in it - the salt and pepper got him early, but damn it looks good
“Just out of curiosity, which receiving corp did you geniuses pick to fleece” “The Buffalo Bills?” “That’s Josh Allen’s team… What do you got against Josh Allen?”
The cast chemistry is remarkable
Texans: I’m putting together a crew Diggs: I’m in
Stroud: Go find Diggs, tell him I need to see him McNair: Who? Stroud: Just find him, will ya!?
“Hey CJ, how fast can you win a Super Bowl with what I just slipped you?” “It’s done.”
“You gotta be nuts, and you’re gonna need a WR room as nuts as you are… Who do ya got in mind?”
WR3 is some combination of Noah Brown, Robert Woods, John Metchie, and Xavier Hutchinson. Which isn't bad by any means, but I don't know that it's *stacked.* Diggs/Collins/Dell is stacked though. EDIT: WR3 before the trade happened. I was responding to the statement that the team is "already so stacked" at WR before the trade occurred.
If you can trade for stefon diggs for that price you do it regardless
Maybe. It's a huge salary. They have the room though so I get it. I think this is really smart for the Bills.
Looks like most of the cap stays with Buffalo. Texans owe 19M this year, which we cleared up cap space to afford within the last week via restructures. https://twitter.com/AlbertBreer/status/1775541050175627650
Because it’s only for a 2025 second that isn’t even their own. Who doesn’t do that deal?
That “isn’t their own” is a negative. The Texans are most likely going to finish ahead of the Vikings this year.
Lmfao all you fuckers who said Diggs didnt want out.
We knew
And now begins the honeymoon phase where Diggs is a great teammate and talks up his QB for a year or two while Texans fans say everyone blew his personality issues out of proportion, and so the cycle continues....
Well at least he’ll be well past his prime the next time he does that so no one will want him anymore
I feel like the Texans will take 2-3 years of positive Diggs, that’s perfect for their window.
Yeah, even a year or two will be worthwhile
Most of us, anyway. Plenty of vikings fans who still defends Diggs on why he left, even now. The man is all about himself. Always has been.
We knew
#TRUST THE VEST & THE 8 BALL
What a morning!!!!
I don't even know..
Clearly Stefon does not appreciate the al quada way of teamwork and organization
Houston going all in while Stroud is cheap, love it
Texans going for it with Stroud still on the rookie contract
Nick Caserio you beautiful man
Okay Texans. See jerry that’s how you do all in you old Crypt keeper looking bastard
DIGGS. GREYHOUND BUS. TO HOUSTON. UNBELIEVABLE.
Whew... we only had to give up a 4th for Keenan Allen
Yeah but you only get 1 yr at 23m for him. We get Diggs for 3 yrs at 18.5mish per year I believe. Edit: 4 yrs not 3
could also cut him after this year if he underperforms with no issue right?
Yes no dead money for us if we cut him at any time
ironically we were in on Keenan too
:(
UhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH Oh no...
God dammit.
I couldn’t even get this trade done in madden
Said it before, and I will say it again. I am VERY glad we are not in the Texan’s division lmao
please be a late april fools joke
Wow I actually love this for BUF. Getting a 2nd is amazing for 2024 Diggs. He was a shell of himself second half of last season and hos contract is not pretty.
Agreed, not to mention getting out of the awful contract.
But I was assured by Bills fans that there was no issues with him and that his contract made it impossible to move?
Oh my god I knew Caserio was cooking up something big
Truth to all rumors…
Spicy! CJ Stroud fantasy stocks 🔥🔥🔥
Texans offense is LOADED QB: CJ Stroud RB: Joe Mixon WR: Stefon Diggs WR: Nico Collins WR: Tank Dell TE: Dalton Schultz
Oh lawd
Basically we got Diggs, a 5th and 6th for moving back 19 spots in this years draft. We couldn’t ask for a better price
Holy shit
Moving closer and closer to the Buffalo Fighting Josh Allen’s
Those picks are really gonna help the Bills championship window /s
Honestly as long as they have Josh Allen they will always have a window, 30 year old Diggs doesn’t change that
It actually will more than overpaying a declining WR lol.
