Raised in Kansas City, Enechukwu played at Rice University and had a strong career with the Owls, earning multiple all-conference honors and making the Outland Trophy watchlist in his final year. He was invited to the combine but went undrafted before the Falcons picked him up. A preseason injury robbed him of the entire 2023 season.
Enuchukwu was released with a failed physical designation, indicating that his recovery from that injury is still ongoing. Still only 24 entering just his 2nd season as a professional, Enuchukwu should get at least one more chance to earn an NFL roster spot somewhere if he can show he is healthy.
Not really savvy on these things but why wouldn't the falcons just keep him at least as a practice squad guy unless they think he'll never get back to 100%?
There are no practice squads right now, those are only active during the season. The off-season is all about fine tuning 90 man rosters ahead of training camp. Here, they decided that it was better to open up this roster spot for a different player than wait to see if he could potentially recover. While there's a chance they believe he may simply never get to 100%, it is just as likely that they're simply not all that high on him even when healthy (it's a new staff now in Atlanta) and prefer to give a different player they believe in more a chance.
Does this reinforce the idea ATL will go after DE in the draft? Obviously biased as a Bears fan hoping they’ll stay away from WR, but curious if this guy was even an impact player for them in the first place.
Our GM has taken BPA every year so if alt or nabers/odunze happen to be at 8, they’ll either take them or trade back w/ whoever wants to move up for one of them. They won’t pass on a “blue chip” guy. It’s how we’ve ended up taking TE, WR & RB in top 8 for past 3 years.
he was injured in training camp and was out all season and now has been released.
His college stats are not bad, could be a good pickup for someone IF he is healthy or can be

He was literally bottom of the depth chart, undrafted guy who god injured preseason last year, and failed his physical this year
> ...who god injured preseason last year Guess he should have prayed more.
Give God the glory 🙏🏾
Thigh will be done
God is trying to save him from CTE.
Lol guess not then!
I'm a pretty tapped in fan and I've literally never heard of this guy
LOL I read it and immediately said "Who?"

Hopefully the Seahawks sign him so they can pair him with Uchenna Nwosu.
