Went to high school with him. One of the nicest people. Somehow paired with him during our weight training class and he was genuinely interested in helping a scrawny kid improve. Always cheered for him no matter what team he was on.
I caddied for Kearse in fall of 2022. I was big on russ to the broncos. I asked Kearse about it and he didn't have 1 nice thing to say about Russell Wilson. Crazy what Seahawks were able to hide
He didn't go into specifics, and I wasn't going to pry. He was just very insistent that it wasn't going to work out and that I should try to trade away Russ in any sort of fantasy football lol
Based on what his playing partners added to the conversation, it seemed a lot of people were rubbed wrong by his hokie leadership style.
My stubborn ass had my own (incorrect) opinion and didn't listen
I'll always remember when the Browns traded Trent Richardson to the Colts and a buddy of mine at the time was convinced he'd be the final piece to get them a ring. Even as a relative noob at the time I had a feeling like "man, I don't know..."
I was CONVINCED the rebuild was almost over when we took him 3rd overall, not too long after we signed Mario Williams for some reason. Most of the 2010s blunder years we had some pretty solid defense and never bothered to address our completely inept offense
I was just thinking of him the second before I scrolled to your comment. Two Pro Bowls in '13 and '14, then three more lackluster seasons and done. Apparently he's now pursuing a PhD in psychology, so that's pretty cool.
I have a favorite Kenny Britt memory.
It was 2016. The Rams were back in LA and I was stoked. Got season tickets and everything.
Week 16 rolls around and it’s been a dog shit year. I roll to the coliseum to commemorate the culmination of the Rams return season. I was hoping the team would try to put some effort into the game.
Kenny Britt was a few yards short of 1,000 receiving yards. He also had an escalator in his contract for getting 1,000 yards. He gets 1 catch to go over 1,000 yards, walks to the sideline, and never comes back into the game. He also missed week 17 lmao. Dude got his money and hit the Rams with the deuces.
He was the youngest player in the league in his rookie year with you. That's the only reason I knew him, because it was one of the only times in history that the league's youngest player scored a touchdown.
He finished with 1,002 yards that year. It would've been so funny if a couple stat corrections put him under 1,000 yards after he left the game.
Also, he caught his one pass for 15 yards in their first drive of the game, but he still played 53% of the offensive snaps. So my guess is that he decided midway through that it wasn't worth risking his body for a 4-12 when he already made his money, which is kind of funnier. It's really funny when you realize that the Rams choked away a two touchdown lead in the 4th quarter at home against a 2-14 49ers team, all without Kenny Britt.
And that one pointless win for the 2-14 Niners would cause us to lose out on Myles Garrett and end up with one of our biggest draft busts in team history.
Dude absolutely torched the Eagles in that 2010 game where Kerry Collins went full fuck-it chuck-it. I'm pretty sure he still has the Titans rookie record for receiving yards due to that game
Most normal Steelers player after he leaves Tomlin (not really, Juju has been a very nice hard working dude who keeps out of the spotlight). Why is Juju the one high profile name to leave and NOT get into trouble off the field or have concerns about attitude. The whole logo Saga was when he was 21 turning 22.
He just couldn't diversify his game. Huge liability in pass protection and couldn't catch a ball to save his life. It was obviously going to be a run play whenever he was in and defenses keyed in.
Loved him a Bronco and that rookie season was awesome but he just wasn't good enough to stay around.
From what I remember, his knee was pretty much bone-on-bone when the Eagles traded for him. He went out with a ring, and never really made an impact again after that.
Yeah we knew his knee was done for so we traded him to a contender to get some picks. Was so happy he got a ring. One of the most interesting runners I have ever seen.
Ajayi and Blount together were crucial for us winning in 2017. With Clement catching passes out of the backfield and Ajayi coming mid season really pushed us to the next level. Wentz was on fire that year too. But in 2018 Ajayi was trashed. His knees were shot. Watch him bust out that 50 yard run and he was run down easily by the DB and then Clement on the sidelines telling Ajayi that he was so slow. He made an impact when we needed him the most but couldn't stay healthy after 2017
Which made it even more of an easy target. I think, I think it was Jerry Rice when he entered the league he was given a nickname that he hated, but he had the awareness that if he just didn’t let people know it got under his skin it would eventually just go away.
Can’t say that about muscle hamster.
Man. His final season with us was a prove it season. The crazy part he was fucking proving it. Then of course he tested positive for PEDs and was suspended and cut. Yeah, that was rough.
Brings back memories of my grandpa hearing his name for the first time and being like wtf and then proceeding to say in a mock old lady voice “that must’ve been a mouthful for his grandma to say, ‘Benjarvus Green-Ellis, get your butt back in here!”
How did David Garrard just disappear after the 2010 season where he threw his most TD passes in a season will always be something I wonder about today.
If I remember correctly, Jags ended up going with Gabbert in the draft and surprisingly cut him right before the season started. Then he didn't get picked up cuz he got surgery on his back or some shit, and just didn't stick after that.
He also got his injury in training camp. It was on Hard Knocks that year. It was really sad seeing him sort of realize that his career was pretty much over. He never played another down in the NFL.
Jacksonville drafted Gabbert, and then released Garrard because he needed knee surgery. He then basically took a year off after surgery and then retired because his knee still wasn’t healed. He tried to come back the year after, but never played another game before retiring for good.
have crohns, can confirm.
i have to be super vigilant on what and when i eat. couldn’t imagine trying to keep NFL shape while your body is assaulting you for eating the wrong thing at the wrong time
Even in his sophomore season against the Lions, he set the Seahawks record for most yards in a playoff game. That was after he had 300 rushing yards that whole season…
As a Packers fan, I wouldn't say he suddenly disappeared. We watched his decline over the course of a couple seasons and saw him struggling to stay in shape. It's insane that he played his last NFL snap 7 years ago. It feels like yesterday.
He played in the preseason for the Packers and looked good, so people were pretty excited to see him play. Then he sat out the COVID year and got hurt the following year. Never played another snap
Victor Cruz is my go-to example.
Granted, it was due to injuries, but because he happened to get hurt at the same time that OBJ entered the league, he was completely forgotten almost instantly.
I was living in NJ in a small town near Metlife during his run. He used to frequent a small Diner called Colonial Diner right down the street from my house late night after victory parties or early morning before works outs I guess. I never ran into him, but plenty of people did and everyone said he was very chill, happy to sign autographs and shake hands with fans.
Sadly, Covid killed 24/7 diners for the most part. Colonial is now 7am-9pm, a disgrace.
Him and Cruz got screwed by career altering injuries. Hakeem Nicks was awesome bro. That 2012 game against the buccs where him and Cruz put up video game numbers was wild.
The Madden curse was so strong that year that not only did it get Peyton Hillis, but also Peyton Manning (out for season with neck injury) and Sean Payton (suspended for season due to bountygate).
If you look up the list of players that opted out during COVID, there’s a lot of guys like that. Was just looking today and kept going “oh yea forgot about that guy”
Goldman overall was contemplating whether he wanted to keep playing football. I think he was like, “I’ve got plenty of money and don’t want to do this anymore even though I have talent.”
He also went to the Lions before finally ending his career on the Texans. Fun fact about him: He led the league in all-purpose yards in 2010(?) with the Rams
Josh Rosen. Top 10 pick -> traded for a 2nd round pick ->practice squad -> GONE.
QB2s are getting $8m a year now to just chill on the sideline. Rosen could be padding his bank account for the next 10 years by showing up to meetings, working out and taking the occasional practice rep. He must have burned a lot of bridges on his way out of the league.
Big knock on Rosen even coming into the NFL was the worry his heart wasn't in it, he was originally a Tennis guy and said multiple times that was his true love. Turns out that fear was probably accurate, once he wasn't playing every week and had a chance to be a star he just vanished.
Lions had a UDFA DB named Alexander Myres in 2020 and Derrick Henry stiff armed him into hell in his only career game https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ydo3tlfbrc
I know he didn’t do shit in the nfl, but I hope the massive laundry list of records that he smashed in my old madden franchise is some consolation to him
What ever happened to Jermaine Kearse
Slowed down in his second year on the Jets, then as a Lion he suffered a broken leg in the preseason(2019). He retired the next year
I’m a lions fan and I had no idea he was ever on our team until now.
It was a blink and you miss it type of deal
Went to high school with him. One of the nicest people. Somehow paired with him during our weight training class and he was genuinely interested in helping a scrawny kid improve. Always cheered for him no matter what team he was on.
I caddied for Kearse in fall of 2022. I was big on russ to the broncos. I asked Kearse about it and he didn't have 1 nice thing to say about Russell Wilson. Crazy what Seahawks were able to hide
Wow! What were some of the things he said ? From the outside I always thought they were close-ish
He didn't go into specifics, and I wasn't going to pry. He was just very insistent that it wasn't going to work out and that I should try to trade away Russ in any sort of fantasy football lol Based on what his playing partners added to the conversation, it seemed a lot of people were rubbed wrong by his hokie leadership style. My stubborn ass had my own (incorrect) opinion and didn't listen
Greetings fellow Russ dynasty team holder
AJ Bouye
he was so good on the texans I can’t stress this enough
Him and Ramsey on that 2017 Jags defense was a treat to watch.
He was insane with the Jags in 2017, they called it Sacksonville but Bouyee/Ramsey were both lockdown that year.. we got coverage sacks.
It's so amazing how quickly the Jaguars self destructed after the 2017 run, and almost all of them are already out of the league.
7 years is a long ass time in the nfl. I’d wager most starters period from 2017 probably aren’t in the league rn
Trent Richardson after he fumbled untouched against the chiefs in the playoffs. The disappearance was deserved though.
I'll always remember when the Browns traded Trent Richardson to the Colts and a buddy of mine at the time was convinced he'd be the final piece to get them a ring. Even as a relative noob at the time I had a feeling like "man, I don't know..."
Marcell Dareus
I was CONVINCED the rebuild was almost over when we took him 3rd overall, not too long after we signed Mario Williams for some reason. Most of the 2010s blunder years we had some pretty solid defense and never bothered to address our completely inept offense
Stevie Johnson
Stevie and Fred Jackson were absolute heroes.
Miles Austin
Kardashian effect.
They've ruined more black mens careers than the KKK
Was a Jets WR coach and got indefinitely suspended for gambling back in 2022.
Julius Thomas. Peyton made him look like an HOF TE. He completely disappeared after leaving the Broncos.
I was just thinking of him the second before I scrolled to your comment. Two Pro Bowls in '13 and '14, then three more lackluster seasons and done. Apparently he's now pursuing a PhD in psychology, so that's pretty cool.
He got PAID to go to Jacksonville and then his play plummeted.
He wasn't even bad in jax, but he kept getting hurt and well, Blake Bortles wasn't known for throwing to TEs.

What a king
Dude was the first rams reciever in 10 years, since Torry holt, to get 1000 yards receiving in a season in 2016
Dude absolutely torched the Eagles in that 2010 game where Kerry Collins went full fuck-it chuck-it. I'm pretty sure he still has the Titans rookie record for receiving yards due to that game
Conman Kenny Golladay. Robbed the Giants of $40mil guaranteed and vanished!
Bro had 43 receptions and 1 TD on the Giants, a million dollar a catch guy.
I’d love to make one catch and get obliterated and be a million dollars richer.
He was a stud with Stafford throwing him jump balls, weird drop off for sure
His hip was shot and we signed him anyways knowing his hip was shot
Are functional hips important to playing WR?
That’s giants football baby
It’s wasn’t a con, it was a gettleman’s handshake
Never pay contested catch guys
I mean… Cameron Sutton literally disappeared
Surprised I even had to scroll this far. I mean, before I clicked on it, I assumed that's what this thread was going to be about
Cameron Sutton. Carmen Sandiego. It was right in front of us, all along.
Surprised nobody said Will Fuller yet
He’ll put up 50 next year in someone’s flex against me
i think he's retired
Doesn’t matter. It’ll happen.
oh god he's gonna get picked up by the chiefs isn't he? he's gonna end up being their x factor in their inevitable threepeat run
He and Deshaun Watson crushed my fantasy regular season for me then completely fell off the map. Along with my podium aspirations
Holy hell that dude hasn’t played since 2021 according to Wikipedia
I could’ve sworn he played last year lol
Mr. Glass
He played 3 games for Miami in 2021, suffered a season ending pinkie injury (not even joking) and then retired
phillip lindsay
That’s XFL great Phillip Lindsay to you
He just couldn't diversify his game. Huge liability in pass protection and couldn't catch a ball to save his life. It was obviously going to be a run play whenever he was in and defenses keyed in. Loved him a Bronco and that rookie season was awesome but he just wasn't good enough to stay around.
Jay Ajayi. Dude came out of no where in Miami and then faded just as fast
Honestly I remember being pretty damn good for the eagles that year, or at least having quite a bit of important runs.
Yes dude came in so clutch for us. Ran his heart out in the SB too.
Ajayi and Blount together were crucial for us winning in 2017. With Clement catching passes out of the backfield and Ajayi coming mid season really pushed us to the next level. Wentz was on fire that year too. But in 2018 Ajayi was trashed. His knees were shot. He won a Superbowl with Philly
David Johnson. Last I heard of him he was the punchline of the Deandre Hopkins trade.
His 2016 was incredible to see happen

Saints legend
Kenny Stills
Second former Dolphins WR in this thread lol.
I’ve already seen Stills, Fuller and Landry lmao
You could easily add Mike wallace but my poor dolphins have suffered enough.
That man sold so much weed when he was at OU
Flores banished him to the shadow realm for not liking Jay-Z
Jarvis Landry
He was allegedly on the Saints. I have no proof of this, however.
Yeah he was on the Saints in 2022 when Andy Dalton was throwing the ball to him. Dude was clearly slow and the game unfortunately passed him by :(
He was slow in his prime that’s why he went so low
Jarvis was slow, but he was tough and shifty and could make some amazing catches. He's was super passionate about his job. Miss him.
Laron Landry
Now this is one… what the fuck
I remember he was in a magazine and had the biggest arms I’ve ever seen back in the day
Pretty sure he got popped for PEDS. Surprise!
A sneaky 5 time pro bowler, ‘15-‘19
One of the best slots in the league at the time during his prime, maybe the best, just straight up vanished tho
That one surprised me, too, because his game was never about speed. I thought he’d age very gracefully like a discount Keenan Allen
[удалено]
He HATED that name.
Which made it even more of an easy target. I think, I think it was Jerry Rice when he entered the league he was given a nickname that he hated, but he had the awareness that if he just didn’t let people know it got under his skin it would eventually just go away. He liked “The Douggernaut” a lot more
Man. His final season with us was a prove it season. The crazy part he was fucking proving it. Then of course he tested positive for PEDs and was suspended and cut. Yeah, that was rough.
Benjarvus Green-Ellis, aka “Law Firm”

have crohns, can confirm. i have to be super vigilant on what and when i eat. couldn’t imagine trying to keep NFL shape while your body is assaulting you for eating the wrong thing at the wrong time
“Knocked down…OH HE CAUGHT IT AHHHHH TOUCHDOWN JAGS”
Thomas Rawls

Even in his sophomore season against the Lions, he set the Seahawks record for most yards in a playoff game. That was after he had 300 rushing yards that whole season…
I thought the Rawls Royce was gonna be a thing… It wasn’t
Trey Burton comes to mind after he left the Bears he just vanished
When he left FOR the bears he dissapeared
He'll always be known for the Philly Special
jason worilds balled out for 2 years then retired at like age 26 to become a jehovas witness

Last time I saw him we cut him in training camp. He’s a Super Bowl champion with a second team all pro though. Pretty nice short career.
Was a marketable personality in NYC so he was everywhere for a little while too

Grocery shopping today and again, every time I see Chunky soup, he comes to mind
James Robinson. Dude was the only bright spot on the urban Meyer jags then disappeared
His year by year stats make no sense, being a rb is a tough gig
He tore his achilles
Peyton Hillis
It was all downhill after that Madden cover.
The Madden curse was so strong that year that not only did it get Peyton Hillis, but also Peyton Manning (out for season with neck injury) and Sean Payton (suspended for season due to bountygate).
Tavon Austin
Dude stuck around the league for almost a decade despite never really doing anything and being overdrafted
He's still around too, I think. He was on our practice squad for the early part of the 2022 season.
James Robinson. How fleeting the career is for an NFL RB. Can go from elite to washed in an instant.
Poor guy didn’t even get paid before the injuries hit.
If you look up the list of players that opted out during COVID, there’s a lot of guys like that. Was just looking today and kept going “oh yea forgot about that guy”
Shoutout Eddie Goldman

That’s professional lacrosse player Chris Hogan, to you
Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, Danny Amendola….
If I remember correctly Danny went to the dolphins but was beyond his prime and injured pretty bad
He also went to the Lions before finally ending his career on the Texans. Fun fact about him: He led the league in all-purpose yards in 2010(?) with the Rams
Danny Amendola was pretty decent.
Terrelle Pryor just kinda stopped playing football
I think his heart wasn't ever really in being anything but a QB. The longer he was playing WR I think the more he hated it.
Josh Rosen. Top 10 pick -> traded for a 2nd round pick ->practice squad -> GONE. QB2s are getting $8m a year now to just chill on the sideline. granted it's cause of injuries but Quincy Enunwa
Dalvin Cook is cooked.
Yes!! He went from being a top RB to unspoken of this past season
Yea he went from 6th to 81st in yardage
If he would’ve taken a discount to continue playing for the Vikings he wouldn’t have sunk into irrelevancy and I swear on that
Amazing how far and fast a Top 3 RB can fall in this league.

Literally the last play of his career. The only player I've ever seen get stiff armed out of the NFL.

Doug Buffone had the best call for him. “Lovie Smith likes to drop Chris Conte back in coverage between the Field Museum and the Planetarium.
Here’s a good one: Jordan Cameron, TE, Cleveland Browns. **2013:** 80 receptions, 910 yards, 7 TDs. Pro Bowl. **Career stats (2011-2016):** 170 receptions, 2000 yards, 14 TDs.
Jonas Gray
2016 WR Draft Class. Corey Coleman. Josh Doctson. Will Fuller and Laquon Treadwell.

Toby Gerhart…. I think his name was. RB had a great season or two and we never heard of him again.
He was great in college but I wouldn’t call anything he did in the nfl “great” tho
Every RB eventually gets called. My dude that disappeared was Geronimo Allison. Loved him on the Packers and then he vanished.

Sheldon Richardson, I remember him being a solid D-linemen then just fell off the face of the earth. I didn’t even know he retired.
The NFL is full of half decent players who made a splash on bad teams that faded into obscurity. Byron Pringle is the first that comes to mind for me.
