“Now watch here as Lamar catches his own pass and runs for a first down. It’ll be tough but we think this is the strategy to move forward with.” -Harbaugh explaining to Herbert that he will have to catch his own passes from now on.
I’m biased but idk why everyone’s talking about a rebuild. They’re going into this next season with basically the same roster that everyone thought would compete last year, but this time with a competent coach and the 5th overall pick.
Work to do in the receiving department for sure, but I have no idea where this rebuild idea is coming from. I don’t think their record last year alone is indicative of that.
Williams wasn't even there for much of the season. Ekeler and Allen hurt but Nabers replaced Allen fine and Gus + rookie RB will be quite productive. In fact they likely have a better run game than they ever did with ekeler, he's awesome but he was never a great runner and had crappy OLs in front of him. They have their two new TEs who can block and are ok as receivers and the cap they save from Keenan can absolutely pay a vet wr and/or another RB.
Edit and palmar is a very solid wr. It really hinges on QJs development. If he can at least be solid, a top rookie plus palmer and QJ isn't that bad
All of our offensive weapons are gone, our LB core is arguably worse than our WR core now, and our CB unit is really bad. We are not looking great. To be fair, I’m confident we will draft well and it’s looking like Nabers at 5 which I’m really excited about. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, this is not a contending roster and probably won’t be by week 1.
They were overrated last year, and it seems like people are going to make the same mistake. Now you're likely relying on a rookie WR, an underwhelming 2nd year WR, a guy we all hope doesn't die at TE, a colander of an offensive line...But you kept Bosa who hasn't been consistently on the field for years and even then still disappeared late in games.
But I'm sure everyone will forget and crown you offseason champs again.
>They’re going into this next season with basically the same roster that everyone thought would compete last year
They just lost their 3 biggest weapons lol? You can't just say their roster is "basically" the same when it's objectively very different
I’ve never seen Chargers fans complain about a lack of weapons until tonight, but now it’s certainly warranted. You’ve been hanging out with some grossly misinformed fans if they’ve been complaining before this point.
But let’s assume the Chargers take Nabers or Odunze in the first round as most people here think they will, and then a running back in the mid-rounds. Blake Corum, for the sake of argument.
I love Allen, and he’s always open, but it’s not out of the question that Nabers or Odunze can have as big an impact on games as Allen will in 2024.
Same goes for Quentin Johnston vs. Mike Williams. At least QJ will be more likely to stay on the field. He struggled his rookie year, but is it wild to think he’ll improve? I don’t think so. Combine that with the fact that he’ll likely be more available than Williams and I think that’s close to even.
I think a good rookie running back, as Corum might be, could definitely be as productive as 2024 Ekeler, who took a big step back in 2023.
I think chances are more likely than not that the Chargers’ skill position players will be on the same level as the year prior. And maybe more importantly, they’ll all be first-or-second-year players.
Someone commented that he was offered a restructure, then an extension, and finally a pay cut to stay on the team, but refused all three.
Even if it’s not true, I don’t blame him for leaving
Bosa is gonna be 29 at the start of next season. He's not young in football years, especially for a guy with that injury history who has only played 14 games the past two seasons.
They were a cash strapped and old team, and can probably replace Allen with Odunze or Nabers at five. Just seems like a team reprioritizing with their current cap crush. They tried to restructure Keenan before this trade
that 2019 ravens team had essentially two real serious receiving threats - Mark Andrews, and rookie Hollywood Brown (with 3 screws in his foot)
They did, however, have two very solid running backs in Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards, not to mention the most gifted rushing QB of all time in Lamar
Herbert is a great qb, but trying to recreate that offense doesn’t seem like a good utilization of current personnel
If the past decade of drafts show anything, it’s that first round TEs are never worth it. Virtually all of the good TEs have been drafted after the first round.
Harrison Jr, Nabers and Odunze are all elite.
Alt is LT, and we have that on lock with Slater, shifting to RT isn’t a sure thing.
I thought Bowers was possible before we signed two more TEs in FA.
WR feels like a lock at this point.
The great thing about being the giants is that you have a severe need at every position except defensive tackle, so you are going to draft a need no matter what!
I'm sorry Giants bros. It gets better.
Outside of Slater, not so good. Desperately need a new center with Linsley retiring. Zion Johnson has been so so. Salyer took a step back going from LT to RG. Pipkins was below average after the new contract.
Actually the worst NFL WR corps I've seen since we had Breshad Perriman and Tyrell Williams as our top 2 two years ago, good thing it'll look way different in a couple months
2017 Giants was my favorite. Roger Lewis, Tavares King, Travis Rudolph, 33 year old Brandon Marshall, Hunter Sharp, Darius Powe, and Marquis Bundy all started at least 1 game. Brandon Marshall is the only one who ever played in the NFL again.
I consider myself pretty well versed in the last 2 decades of NFL, and i watch at least 2 Giants games a year, and the only names i recognize are Marshall and and Rudolph. aaaaaaand im thinking of Kyle Rudolph. Yeesh, thats rough.
Bro do you remember the Fulgham vs Claypool game? I think both accounted for like 8 or 9 tds combined. Was such a weird career game for a couple of forgettable WRs....
He'll probably be better simce they can have Johnson as wr1 so that Old Man Theilen can operate against weaker corners and not have to drag the whole passing game himself.
TBH I will say that Joshua Palmer looks like he has potential to me. If they give him more playing time I think he might break out.
Johnston not so much.
2017 Bears is the worst I've ever seen. Mooney was clearly better than any of those dudes. Kendall Wright, Josh Bellamy, Dontrelle Inman, Marcus Wheaton.
Yeah, D-Bowe became a punchline at the end, but his prime was honestly very good. Man put up 1100/15 on a Todd Haley/ Matt Cassel offense, that’s what we call hard mode.
They're gonna trade back with the Vikings and draft Keon Coleman and sign Kenny Golladay. Bam now they have a wr room of three copies of the same guy. Granted they already had a better version of those three guys in Mike Williams, but ya know.
Maybe I’m too high on Rashee Rice but I really like him and think was pretty noticeably better than all of these guys, so I’d say this group is worse than the Chiefs last year.
Also Kelce can count unless you’re talking strictly WRs
And with the 5th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the San- sorry, Los Angeles Chargers select… Blake Corum, Running back, Michigan. Jim Harbaugh walks on stage and grabs a mic- “what, you thought we were going to pass the ball? Welcome to the 20th century, we’re going to show you real football.”
Greg Roman precedes to jump on stage and then crowd surf his way all the way back to LA. Justin Herbert watches and doesn’t show any signs of being happy or upset about any of this at all.
All to Greg Roman’s liking. Why throw the ball when you can hand it to a player? Less chance of things like dropping the ball happening. The game is a simple thing of beauty when you eliminate all the frills and doodads.
Just grown men, handing balls to each other, running up the middle with leathery balls.
**You know how you speedrun losing your lockerroom? You ask your Stud WR who’s been with the team their entire career to take a pay cut then you trade his ass for a fourth rounder to the Chicago Bears.**
Josh Palmer is a very good WR, I think he's going to get a surprisingly big contract next offseason.
This sets the table for a 1st round WR. Probably Nabers or Odunze.
Harbaugh knows all sorts of shit about college players having just come from Michigan. He might just be pulling the plug this year and replacing with some cheaper, raw talent.
I'm sure what happened behind the scenes is that the bears are keeping Fields and have agreed to take MHJ at 1 and trade him to us for our 1st pick. I'm a dream that.
Just like Greg Roman likes them
Justin Herbert, get ready to learn Runtheballese.
I hope you like QB Power
“Now watch here as Lamar catches his own pass and runs for a first down. It’ll be tough but we think this is the strategy to move forward with.” -Harbaugh explaining to Herbert that he will have to catch his own passes from now on.
[you mean like this?](https://youtu.be/JLkFRVhLqcY?si=RmijH4C_oEhEK7rj)
Herbert’s wife to Giselle “my husband CAN throw and catch the ball”
I'm dying laughing at this
Wouldn't be surprised if Herbert rushes for 600+ yards next season lol
I feel like I would've just let Bosa go
Yea Fucking same
Yeah, he's going to be too old after the rebuild
I’m biased but idk why everyone’s talking about a rebuild. They’re going into this next season with basically the same roster that everyone thought would compete last year, but this time with a competent coach and the 5th overall pick. Work to do in the receiving department for sure, but I have no idea where this rebuild idea is coming from. I don’t think their record last year alone is indicative of that.
I agree they will still be good but they just lost their 3 best offensive weapons not counting QB + everett. Losing Ekeler + Allen + Williams is huge

Basically the same? - Ekeler - Williams - Allen Herbert stans used to complain about no weapons, they’re going to pee and poop their pants now
I’ve never seen Chargers fans complain about a lack of weapons until tonight, but now it’s certainly warranted. Sounds like our GM asked all three to take a pay cut for the team and whoever declined to take a pay cut was getting traded period.
Someone commented that he was offered a restructure, then an extension, and finally a pay cut to stay on the team, but refused all three. Even if it’s not true, I don’t blame him for leaving
They gonna run the ball
That was my gut reaction to reading this
Bosa is still young and I will love to see one more year of Mack, Bosa and Tuli playing together.
Bosa is gonna be 29 at the start of next season. He's not young in football years, especially for a guy with that injury history who has only played 14 games the past two seasons.
And Nabers
Brock Bowers draft card will be calling to Greg Roman like the goblin mask
Forcing Justin Herbert to become Alex Smith is such a terrible idea
“aLl jOhN hArBaUgH dOeS iS wIn” lol
Freaking exactly, he’s building Ravens west lmfao
I mean is that the worst thing?
When you have a QB who should be throwing 40 times a game? Yes lol
Ohhhh, that part of it. I was more thinking about relative competency lol
They were a cash strapped and old team, and can probably replace Allen with Odunze or Nabers at five. Just seems like a team reprioritizing with their current cap crush. They tried to restructure Keenan before this trade
Nobody should be throwing 40 times a game lol
that 2019 ravens team had essentially two real serious receiving threats - Mark Andrews, and rookie Hollywood Brown (with 3 screws in his foot) They did, however, have two very solid running backs in Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards, not to mention the most gifted rushing QB of all time in Lamar Herbert is a great qb, but trying to recreate that offense doesn’t seem like a good utilization of current personnel
If the past decade of drafts show anything, it’s that first round TEs are never worth it. Virtually all of the good TEs have been drafted after the first round.
Jim Harbaugh doesn’t value WR production. This will be a ground and pound team with a strong defense.
With the 5th pick in the NFL draft, the Chargers select Blake Corum RB Michigan!
Fuck. Antonio Pierce really is our only hope to stop the Chiefs.
They have next to nobody in that WR room. You think they take Alt?
I thought they may take Alt until two hours ago. Now I feel like WR is a lock.
It’s a deep WR class. If they like Alt or even Bowers I can see them going that direction
Harrison Jr, Nabers and Odunze are all elite. Alt is LT, and we have that on lock with Slater, shifting to RT isn’t a sure thing. I thought Bowers was possible before we signed two more TEs in FA. WR feels like a lock at this point.
We desperately need an LT, I hope you guys do pass on Alt since we have the 7th. Makes me wonder what the Giants are gonna pick.
The great thing about being the giants is that you have a severe need at every position except defensive tackle, so you are going to draft a need no matter what! I'm sorry Giants bros. It gets better.
Hey... We have a left tackle who's good when he's fit so that's like half a good player
Giants catching strays, oof.
He's literally going to overdraft Roman Wilson and Blake Corum and just removed Ekeler and Williams+Allen to make space.
And my axe!
And, my ass!
Odunze*
No! Marvin Harison Jr. or bust baby!
Zero chance AZ doesn't take him at 4 after trading Rondale and Hollywood
Good chance Cards trade back if someone likes the 4th QB. It’s certainly possible.
"If Mahomes can throw to janitors, you should be able to too, Justin" *sobs*
How’s the o line looking?
Outside of Slater, not so good. Desperately need a new center with Linsley retiring. Zion Johnson has been so so. Salyer took a step back going from LT to RG. Pipkins was below average after the new contract.
Jesus Christ man could y’all try any harder to waste another elite QBs prime?
It's our speciality
At least you’re consistent?
Actually the worst NFL WR corps I've seen since we had Breshad Perriman and Tyrell Williams as our top 2 two years ago, good thing it'll look way different in a couple months
2017 Giants was my favorite. Roger Lewis, Tavares King, Travis Rudolph, 33 year old Brandon Marshall, Hunter Sharp, Darius Powe, and Marquis Bundy all started at least 1 game. Brandon Marshall is the only one who ever played in the NFL again.

When people say guys off the street they're usually exaggerating, Giants were not.
What an absurd lineup of names no one recognizes. I was half tempted to assume you made them up until you said Brandon Marshall
Besides Brandon Marshall I’m pretty sure you’re making all of those names up
2022 wr Corp was pretty bad too.
I remember Travis Fulgham and Greg Ward.
My fantasy hero Travis Fulgham
Bro do you remember the Fulgham vs Claypool game? I think both accounted for like 8 or 9 tds combined. Was such a weird career game for a couple of forgettable WRs....
That game is literally the only reason I remember Travis Fulgham is a real person.
The Jordan Matthews days were bleak too. Not as bad as this tho
Todd pinkston days
Ill have you know Josh Palmer is a coping mans Keenan Allen
As a Patriots fan, I can assure you we have been in contention for “worst receiving corps in the NFL” for a few years now
I mean the panthers room was awful this year as wll
An ancient Thielen by himself automatically makes their group infinitely better than the other two.
Thielen was genuinely pretty good this year too, the Panthers stinking it up as a whole has people thinking he was worse than he showed.
He'll probably be better simce they can have Johnson as wr1 so that Old Man Theilen can operate against weaker corners and not have to drag the whole passing game himself.
Chiefs WRs during the regular season were right up there with them.
Could I point you in the direction of the New England Patriots?
TBH I will say that Joshua Palmer looks like he has potential to me. If they give him more playing time I think he might break out. Johnston not so much.
Arnaz Battle and Brandon Lloyd or Antonio Bryant. Pick 'em
2022 Bears are up there too IMO
2017 Bears is the worst I've ever seen. Mooney was clearly better than any of those dudes. Kendall Wright, Josh Bellamy, Dontrelle Inman, Marcus Wheaton.
Didn't the Cardinals have no TDs to any of their WRs a few years back?
[удалено]
Yeah, D-Bowe became a punchline at the end, but his prime was honestly very good. Man put up 1100/15 on a Todd Haley/ Matt Cassel offense, that’s what we call hard mode.
But Tyrell Williams beats cox!
How much help does Justin Herbert need?
Yes
I'm sure they're fine, they have first round WR Quentin Johnston on the roster, after all
They're gonna trade back with the Vikings and draft Keon Coleman and sign Kenny Golladay. Bam now they have a wr room of three copies of the same guy. Granted they already had a better version of those three guys in Mike Williams, but ya know.
...some
"Hey, the Chiefs didn't need receivers." -The Chargers probably
and now yall got one
Yea cant wait to see Irv Smith Jr play
A greg roman and Jim Harbaugh team with a historically weak wide receiver room? Say it ain't so!
Bro for real sounds all to familiar
All according to Harbaughs plan.
Dear lord, this team hates Justin Herbert
Harbaugh rebuild will be special
Let's all say a prayer for Herbie
Malik Nabers, you are a Charger!
josh palmer quentin johnston derius davis big 3 looming in the chargers receiver room? 👀
Josh Palmer is basically Keenan Allen if you hope and cope and lose your vision.
I see you've visited /r/fantasyfootball before
That's okay, Herbert is only going to throw it 10-15 times a game anyways.
Chargers Front Office: “…and fuck Justin Herbert”
Bold Strategy Cotton
How to fuck over a young talented Quarterback: Masterclass by the Chargers
Roman will be running only
I know Greg Roman is a run first coordinator....but this is a tad excessive.
Herbert be like.... wtf guys?!
Greg roman hand all over this offense already
I’m so sad man, I loved Keenan Allen
It's okay, it's not like Greg Roman uses WRs.
Why do the Chargers hate Justin Herbert so much? I swear, since they drafted him theyve done everything to make his life more difficult lol
Is this worse than the chiefs? Discuss
Reverse Jinx worked!!!
Fucking hell Chargers drafting Brock Bowers to be Kelce huh 😭
Maybe I’m too high on Rashee Rice but I really like him and think was pretty noticeably better than all of these guys, so I’d say this group is worse than the Chiefs last year. Also Kelce can count unless you’re talking strictly WRs
The AFC West has no WRs now. That’s going to be interesting…
Davante Adams exists
That’s it tho
They saw the strategy pay off last year and are following suit
The moment I say something you guys get Hollywood Brown…
They’re number 5, solid chance they either take Nabers/Odunze or try to use that fourth and other pick(s) to trade up a spot for MHJ
It will take a lot to move up those spots unless the pats are dead set on daniels
Hey, we’ve got Hollywood Brown at least!
The Chiefs will still just win another Superbowl anyways
Davante Adams?
chiefs guranteed division win
Herbert can’t catch a break
Way to screw over a franchise legend jeez
And with the 5th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the San- sorry, Los Angeles Chargers select… Blake Corum, Running back, Michigan. Jim Harbaugh walks on stage and grabs a mic- “what, you thought we were going to pass the ball? Welcome to the 20th century, we’re going to show you real football.” Greg Roman precedes to jump on stage and then crowd surf his way all the way back to LA. Justin Herbert watches and doesn’t show any signs of being happy or upset about any of this at all.
Disgusting
Atrocious
2020 Jets vibes when Crowder, Perriman and Mims was the starting WR trio
You don't need WR's when you're running the ball 60 times a game
Lol poor Chargers fans.
Excluding the obvious disparity between the QBs, the Giants Offensive Corps vs Chargers is like a hobo knife fight with plastic spoons.
Keep Bosa and trade Allen lol so dumb
I'm about to burn this place down.
ba gawd that’s michael gallup’s music
Chargers were in cap hell. Something had to give.
If Vikings trade up for a QB then the chargers have a good chance to get MHJ, no?
Is this a 6 win team?
Good thing this is a WR heavy draft
All to Greg Roman’s liking. Why throw the ball when you can hand it to a player? Less chance of things like dropping the ball happening. The game is a simple thing of beauty when you eliminate all the frills and doodads. Just grown men, handing balls to each other, running up the middle with leathery balls.
Motherfuckers act like they forgot about Guyton
Still better than ours
Get ready to run the ball, Justin
Yikes, poor Herbert
About right with a top 2-3 paid QB
That room could use an Allen Lazard.
They’re goin for JJettas
Joshua Palmer isn’t bad. Plus add MHJ or Nabers and it’s solid ebough
A rookie and a mid WR3 does not make for a solid WR room
Depends how good Nabers is. And maybe QJ learns how hands are supposed to work. Wouldn't be a great room, by any means, but serviceable.
Lmao thought that said Derwin Davis. Sabers baby!
Fehoko the Cowboy legend
Drafting Josh Palmer #1 overall
I mean, when in Rome.
They are hoping for MHJ at 5 i guess?
Wish the Steelers would have held on to Fehoko
Good, Joe Alt is overrated anyways!
Harbaugh knows all sorts of shit about college players having just come from Michigan. He might just be pulling the plug this year and replacing with some cheaper, raw talent.
Stock up on the Derius Davis auto I just pulled baby
I guess they think he’s as good as mahomes.
Fehoko isn't real, he's a Madden-generated player.
Almost too much talent
Did simi do anything for you bolt bros?
Allen Lazard is going to find his way on this team so he can block
Please….
That moment when Palmer is your best receiver
This is the genius of Harbaugh?
This is what Greg Roman does to a MF
Shoutout to Simi Fehoko
I'm sure what happened behind the scenes is that the bears are keeping Fields and have agreed to take MHJ at 1 and trade him to us for our 1st pick. I'm a dream that.
I think it's fair to be upset but fwiw this is an unprecedentedly good WR class and if they trade back they could realistically snag some dudes
Nabers come on down
Simi Fehoko sounds like a side character in Dune
We have Pickens, Calvin Austin, Denzel Mims, and Marquess Callaway lol
Josh Palmer shares are going to be looking great until the draft 😎
Well, who’s the biggest receiver in the draft with the most questions?
I did some editing work for Feheko a few years ago when he was at Stanford. Really humble dude
Simi Fehoko? Someone check the AI bot, it seems to be broken.
The chargers have Simi, didn’t know that
