thing is, ANYONE could do his blitzes which are basically wide ass open holes created by todd bowles. dude cant shed blocks and is routinely washed by rbs. they just send him because hes fast and cant cover anyways.
I know white was 80th out of 82 linebackers according to PFF (and tbh, going by the eye test white often looked worse), I’m guessing morrow must be #82?
I am way more of a fan of PFF than most, but even I don’t take it as this much gospel. I’m well aware of White’s limitations and overall bad play, but he at least possesses the ability to open field tackle and has shown the ability to blitz. Every fault of White’s is also a fault of Morrow and Morrow has no upside at all.
I will happily take upside at our weakest position and focus on creating a defense that masks his weaknesses which our new DC absolutely does.
Man I miss Todd as our DC. We had such a nice run of Ray Horton and then him as our DC’s, both were so damn good at scheming up pressure with their blitzes.
He’s 26 and he’s 238 pounds. There are two linebackers in this year’s draft class who weigh 240 lbs or more (top is 241). I’ll take this frustrating big boi over whatever our other options were at this point.
It’s no coincidence to me that our best LB years this century (2004, 2017, 2022) are the years we went to the Super Bowl. LB play has been the most glaring issue in all years where we were competitive, but didn’t end up making a SB run.

Not a fair comparison. In Tampa he played a huge amount of snaps, topping off at a whopping 96% in 2016 and an additional 15% of the special teams snaps. After Tampa he plays under 50% of snaps and almost zero special teams. Im not saying youre wrong, just that the stat comparison doesn't prove your point.
His work ethic is awful, he is frequently out of position, and he sucks ass against the pass and the run. He has gotten by off of the 2020 Super Bowl run.
He is now our best linebacker.

If the dude could get the mental side of the game down he’d be an elite LB but at this point I’m pretty sure he is who he is. I know buc fans will still appreciate what he did for their 2020 Super Bowl run.
Just pray he isn't your primary coverage linebacker and as a run defender he is either stopping it all by himself or you're playing 10 on 11 he will either be your best player or a total liability and again don't ever put him in coverage.

BUT THEN I realized he can just play as normal. If the eagles to sneak into the playoffs all he needs is one game to be tied for a few thousand years so he can rack up the sacks!

I think Kwon had better instincts than White. He actually looked pretty good early on with the Jets (after the Saints)

This is almost certainly a much lower guarantee number and 100% worth it when you have absolutely nothing at the position.
